Our A/C went out at the worst possible time during a heat wave. We have been to numerous home shows and were always impressed with Rhino Heating and Air. I called them frantically on a Monday and that same day Ryan made time to come out to our house and provide a detailed bid. We needed to replace a heat pump and our house was plumbed for gas so we were able to switch over to gas heat for the winter which is considerably more efficient and comfortable than having a heat pump circulate cold air. Ryan was able to schedule us for a new A/C unit the next day and for this we were very appreciative. We were extremely impressed with their professionalism and workmanship. We had a larger name heating and air company come out originally. They found indications of a minor leak in our coolant, which somehow got worked up to $3000 in repairs and talking about a total replacement unit. They refused to do anything to get the AC in better shape unless we would agree to all that at that exact moment. Thankfully, I asked them to leave and my husband found Rhino. Within the first 5 minutes, they assured me my unit did not need to be replaced, and they could get me some cooler air that day (with full repairs to follow). They accomplished that in less than an hour and a little under the quoted price. I now have a working AC and a company I trust to come do the final repairs (for a fair price!) when needed. Both guys sent out were polite and efficient, and the office staff has been very sweet. Would recommend Rhino! read more

Great company! It started when our 18 year old unit started making a noise when it kicked on. Used their tune up special to have checked out - they came the same day! We needed a new motor, but opted for installing a new unit because several years ago our family suffered through a 110 degree day with no AC. So we knew it was on its last leg. During one of our famous Sacramento 100 degree heat spikes recently the great folks at Rhino Heating & Air went out of their way to make sure my family had air conditioning blowing at full cool. One morning we suddenly had no cool air, only the fan was working. It was a Thursday and a 100 degree plus weekend was looming. I'd had spinal surgery recently and was totally stuck in the house, which made it even more important that their excellent service tech Tomas was able to figure out and fix the problem. He was knowledgeable, personable and professional and definitely an asset to his company. And the great customer service from Denise was off the charts! First she gave us priority treatment when I told her about my back surgery (it was one of their busiest days of the year in terms of service calls), then she followed up several times over the phone to make sure we were taken care of and that everything was working ok. Definitely five star service from the entire team at Rhino, they're now our go-to for anything related to heating and air conditioning. I highly recommend them. read more

I purchased a house that had previously used Rhino to install a new HVAC system prior to selling. For this reason, I have very limited ability to provide a review about this company's work. BUT... The sellers never had the work inspected as needed and left this for me. The work did not initially pass inspection (so take from that what conclusions you will about Rhino's work) but I felt compelled to write a review because of the help I received from a new hire still in training, Teresa. She understood my concerns and went out of her way to get a tech to make the necessary corrections very quickly for me (since by the time I took possession of the house, I had very little time left to pass inspection on the permit). She told me because the warranty wasn't transferrable, she'd have to check if they could do the work at no charge for me, but she really went to bat for me and got it done to make my experience better. She followed up with me to make sure everything passed, and has encouraged me to call back if I have any issues. I've been told the warranty isn't transferrable to me, so I'm not sure how things will go moving forward, but if you need help - Teresa is fantastic. Thanks for everything, Teresa! read more

When my AC went out in my home my friend had referred me to Rhino. They came out the same day to look at my unit. Without going into a sales pitch or trying to sell me things I don't need, he gave me several options to decide on. Most companies would give you one option and try to run up your bill. Appointment was blown off by a Kings game. The worker that came out to cover for salesman called me "buddy" one too many times, only had Fujitsu mini split literature. Ryan told me they were an authorized Daiken dealer, so I was hoping to at least see the brochures. Got a call from Ryan on 2/29/16 answered his questions and was told he would have estimate by that evening. It never happened. I could go on but it's not worth anymore time. read more

Had work done by Rhino, a franchised business. They do not pay attention to detail and they do their work the cheap way. They have been in business for about 7 years but yet they have very very few five star reviews, on top of having very few reviews at all. Companies that have been in business this long and are doing good respectable work for their customers typically receive plenty of good reviews on a regular basis. Just do a search on yelp... type in ac hvac. There are some companies that have been in business for less years than Rhino but they have way more reviews. Why ? Because these companies are doing a very good job which means a lot of happy customers which means more good reviews posted for them by their customers. Other reasons why Rhino doesn't have more reviews...past customers may think the work they did is ok but not worth their time to write a review for them...past customers also do not feel justified in giving this company a good referral. As can be seen here on Yelp, there are too many other ac hvac companies that have a more reputable history to even consider this company doing any work on your home. Suggestion : Choose a company that has consistently been given a lot of good reviews and continues to receive good reviews on a regular basis. read more

STOP and consider looking for a company that knows what their doing. My son(after recomendations from me, which was the biggest mistake ever) had a ac/heater unit installed in his house. They started installing in Dec. 2012 and the thing is still having problems. After three days installing the unit, they had to come and fix a part that was already bad. It took about two weeks to fiqure out the problem. That didn't work so after about six times of them coming out.....finally fixed(we thought). The inspector from Rancho Cordova found five problems with the way it way installed. Took Rhino two weeks to come out and fix the problems........finally done...the inspector approved. That was the heating unit. NOW we're having problems with the air conditioning. Rhino came out last week and fixed the problem(they said). Turned on the air yesterday and the SAME problem exists. Rhino is coming out ONCE AGAIN tomorrow to fix the problem. RHINO has been out at least 10 times to get this unit working. Should have gone else where. It's been almost 5 months and it still doesn't work properly. Although I would never recommend this company to anyone.....Amy the receptionist is very friendly. RHINO came out on May 1st to fix the existing problem with the air. He was here half an hour and assured me it was fix. Turned on the air and it was still leaking. Called Rh[no back told them it wasn't fixed. they said they would send someone else out on May 5th. No one showed up. We called they said the employee was sick. Said they would send someone May 6th between 5 and 6. Again no one showed. Called them and they said ALL employees had the flu and they're not sure when anyone will be able to come out to fix the AC. Next call is going to be to the BBB. read more
