1. The two installers of insulation, Brian Seiler and Matt Cooksey, were super nice! They did their work on such a hot day but didn't complain at all... they just moved forward and did their work. They answered all my questions and gave me pictures of before/after so I can place on my Facebook page. They both were very friendly and did their work with skill and explained to me what was going on along the way. I GLADLY give them five stars for their hard work and friendly manner for such a nasty job (mainly cuz it was so very hot up there!!!). 2. The crew that came out to replace my HVAC system and all the duct work were awesome! They were super friendly, knowledgeable/skilled, and answered all my questions (...I asked allot of 'em), and did their work so quickly and skillfully. Tony and Tobias were so patient with all my questions, and offered advice and support for the new system. It was awesome to watch them as they guided the crane lifting the old and new system on my roof, it appeared they also had a good relationship with the crane operator... not to my surprise!! Super friendly guys!! 3. My initial contact with Clarke & Rush was with Mark Thyne. He came out and explained how the A/C and heating systems work as a package unit, and the benefits of each model. He also helped with paperwork for the rebates with utilities. The one thing that first impressed me was that he was the only one (I had five other bids) who did not bash another company or product. The other reps bad-mouthed other companies and products. I saw this as Clarke & Rush having the experience, skilled workers, and informative presentation do their "talking". They were not the lowest bidder, but Mike presented himself very professionally and came across as honest, and very helpful. I had so very many questions, after the other companies would say this or that, he called me back right away to answer all my questions, and not once did he bad-mouth anyone. Bottom Line is that I am VERY pleased with Clarke & Rush. I hope to submit a new comment 5, 10, 15, and 20 years from now to say how happy I am with the HVAC system!! PS: Another company told me that there was a part on the heating side of HVAC system that had holes due to rust/corrosion, and absolutely needed to be replaced cuz of the carbon-monoxide risk. He had me sign a paper saying he told me of the problem. That scared me!! He said that the cost of replacing that part and related parts would cost almost as much as a new unit. This is what convinced me to replace the unit at all. When the old system was removed, and on the ground, I looked at the unit's "damaged" segment, it was clean and free of any corrosion!!!!!! We had Clarke & Rush install a new HVAC system one year ago to replace a 28-year-old unit installed when the house was built. Following from a blown fuse and poor cooling, we had initially called another HVAC company. They came out, announced the system was beyond repair, quoted us a very high cost to replace, and started pushing a low-cost financing program we weren't interested in. Instead, I talked with a neighbor with a slightly larger house who mentioned that Clarke & Rush had installed their new system about a year prior and they had done it quickly and professionally for much lower cost. I contacted Clarke & Rush and requested they come out and inspect our HVAC unit and provide a bid. Mark Thyne, the Clarke & Rush field rep/consultant, arranged to meet with us. He conducted himself as a knowledgeable professional and gave us a very balanced and informed perspective about the options available, which is in complete contrast to the hyperbole and BS that the other company offered. Mark provide us with realistic information about the cost, the benefits, the savings, the sizing of the unit, etc. A few days later, Mark provided us with a complete and nicely formatted proposal, and the price they quoted was very reasonable and a few thousand $$ less than the other company. Since our current HVAC unit was still operating, we arranged for the replacement in about 2-3 weeks. Clarke & Rush staff communicated clearly with us throughout the process. When the actual replacement was scheduled, two technicians arrived with the new unit (external AC compressor, and attic-mounted heater and AC evaporator) and the install proceeded very smoothly and they were done by early afternoon. The unit has performed flawlessly over the past year, and Clarke & Rush have contacted us several times to come out and double-check that all was working well, etc. Their after-sales support is excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend Clarke & Rush. They appear to be a very well-managed company with competent and knowledgeable staff. Just had our heating system and duct work checked by Clarke & Rush. Our system is about 10 years old and just wanted to make sure that it was working efficiently to try and keep our energy bills lower. We had an early morning appointment and about 1/2 hour before our appointment time, I received a phone call from Phil, the technician, who was calling ahead to confirm our appointment and said he would be at our home in about 20 minutes. He showed up ahead of time and introduced himself and spent a few minutes explaining to me what the tune up would involve. He was very thorough in his explanation and then he got started by changing out our filters. He actually cleaned and vacuumed the filter cover very thoroughly while he was replacing the filters for us. Next he went up into the attic where the heat furnace is located and spent about 1/2 hour up there. Next he checked all of the vents to make sure that they were putting out an even amount of heat. To finish up he also check our water heater and asked if we had any other issues with plumbing or with our air conditioning unit. Thought that was pretty cool that he would check those things and ask if we had any other areas that he could inspect. After he was done with the tune up, he explained to me what his findings were and said that everything was in good working condition. He pointed out a few things that might need attention in the next couple of years and he offered me some information about an energy service plan where they come out 2 times a year and give you a summer and winter tune up for an annual price. It sounded like a nice plan but said we would think about it. All in all, I would say that Phil was very customer service oriented and that Clarke and Rush provided excellent service at a very reasonable price for this comprehensive tune up. The whole thing took about 1 hour and I was glad to have gotten it done. I would certainly recommend Clarke & Rush to all my friends. read more

Our 15-year-old gas furnace went out during a cold snap last month (inducer motor). Clarke and Rush had recently replaced the thermostat so charged us nothing for the call-back and diagnosis. Getting the parts would take two weeks, without assurance it would extend the life of our unit much, and our AC compressor was of similar vintage. We inquired about replacement with a heat pump system, wanting to slash our fossil fuel use and knowing there are $3500 in SMUD rebates out there as well as a $2000 federal tax credit for approved units. Brian came out the next day and was quite helpful in explaining how the new Mitsubishi heat pumps work and what to expect if we got one. He gave us a quote that included the rebate and tax credit, knocking about 1/3 off the total cost -- and they would do the SMUD paperwork and collect the rebate. Their quote was quite competitive with the two others we got, and he knew more about the system we were looking at. We then investigated further and shared information with Brian to indicate U.S. EPA had not yet approved the tax credit for the unit (lots of equipment still being evaluated for Energy Star rating under the new Inflation Reduction Act). Brian called back to say the information we shared was quite helpful to Clarke and Rush -- and they were going honor the quote, assuring we would pay out-of-pocket the price he quoted even if the tax credit is not approved this year. Sold! The Mitsubishi electric heat pump system has improved our comfort compared to our gas furnace, and came with an extended 12-year warranty from Clarke and Rush. Installation was completed in a day and a half by George and Sergio, who cheerfully explained every step along the way and took extra steps to install new intake ductwork that was not in the quote. A very professional company delivered a high-quality system that has made our house more evenly warm this winter. And we have a lower carbon footprint to boot! read more

We were remodeling our house during the worst heat wave in years. Also was getting quotes for a new A/C unit as our old one kept us in the top 1% of least efficient energy users in the neighborhood. Another vendor came in, gave us a 2 hour sales presentation and quoted a system that was an unrealistic 4-ton system for our house. The Clarke & Rush rep, Mark, came to our house, spent half an hour in our house, came back the next day with a professional packet of information and quote for a split system consisting of a 3-ton unit for the main part of the house and a 1 tone ductless unit for a large add-on (that was always hot during the summer and cold in the winter). Aside from being the best solution, the quote was $2000 less than the competitor. Then came the installation, which was complicated by the fact that we needed a new electrical panel added because our old one was much too small for our house. The electrical contractor retained by Clarke and Rush was amazing. It took him half a day for the install, which included new wiring through our incredibly hot attic. (This was also included in the cost.) The A/C installers , Dustin and Luke, also came that morning to start. By the next day the unit for the main part of he house was up and running and by mid-day, we were finally cool! Then the following day they had the additional unit done. They were professional and friendly. They cleaned up after themselves, helped us program the new system and best of all we now have a system that cools the entire house efficiently. We were so happy with their service and work, we used them for a plumbing problem as well, where Scott properly fixed a clogged drain that another company failed to handle(watch out when a plumber says he can't guarantee it will unclog-then why am I paying you to be here?). I highly recommend Clarke and Rush and would definitely use them again. We are a happy family now! read more

This company has been such a disappointment. We bought new HVAC, solar panels, duct work, and insulation. They sold me regular servicing with the new equipment and installation. Here are the problems so far: 1. They made a huge mess and got dust and dirt and insulation all over the clothes in my closet... They loosely covered things with plastic sheeting and then knocked it off while they were working and didn't stop to put it back on. By the time I discovered it my closet was a mess. 2. Their solar panel installers messed up the workout mat in my garage (they could have walked around it or moved it) and I showed the foreman. He said they would send a check to cover the cost. I sent him the receipt for the mat (purchased just a month prior) and he never sent the check. I called twice and got the blow off. 3. Their service technician that came out last fall was rude in his manor and implied that I am a liar by saying that the filters hadn't been changed as recently as I said. I have no incentive to lie but most importantly I DIDN'T and I just can't abide someone coming into my house and calling me a liar. 4. I just called to set up my spring service. It is May 4th. They don't have any availability until August 17th. This is unacceptable. They sold me this service and now they can't deliver on it and they don't see it as a problem. They acted like it's my fault because I should have set it up earlier. It is still spring. I can see it taking a month, but not three and a half months. They need to hire more technicians but apparently they don't want to invest in a good customer experience. read more

Sadly this review has a 8-9 year history. Had CR put in a new HVAC system in 2012 into a 2,460 sqf home. A year after the install we were struggling for cool air and I had a friend in HVAC look at the unit. He found the attic equipment basically cooling the attic with the system open with huge gaps that he helped close. The plenum was crap and should have been replaced, one of the main duct coils was not locked in place and hanging on with a big gap etc... Yes, this was inspected by Roseville (not). I recall the guy not even getting off the step ladder and pencil whipped the permit form. Additionally, I have had to have CR replace the cool twice since the initial install. That is more of an OEM issue with crap units being sold etc... CR did stand buy the 10 year parts & labor and I did not pay for it, least the second one in Sept 2020. Today I had an independent HVAC come out to do an annual review only to tell me that my 3 ton unit is way too small and that for nearly a 2,500 sqf home that is in full sun etc... should be at least 4 to 5 ton.. Rule of thumb is 1 ton per 500 sqf. Anyway, I hope CR is better for new folks and their sales team is better than they were. Regardless, the aggravation of fighting to keep our house cool with too small of a system they recommended is very disappointing. I would never use them again. read more

Arrived home from work yesterday and discovered a crack in the main pipe to the house. Thankfully, the leak was isolated to the front yard so nothing was damaged. After shutting off the main, we called Clarke and Rush and scheduled an afternoon appointment for today, 08/02/16 to fit around our work schedules. Isaac arrived and immediately assessed the damaged pipe. We were quoted the exceptionally low price of $114! We immediately agreed to the work...no second opinion would be necessary today. Isaac stated that he could replace the damaged portion of the pipe and was off to The Home Depot to get the parts. Isaac returned and completed the work and then tested the pipe. Isaac was friendly and personable and explained everything he did. Isaac also thanked us for digging up the pipe (that's how we discovered the crack yesterday...we just left it exposed so it could dry out over night). We've had Clarke and Rush out once before for an indoor plumbing issue and were satisfied with the work, but were still iffy on who we would call in the future. We took a chance with the company again and after today's visit, we plan to be customers for life. Next time we have to call Clarke and Rush, we will DEFINITELY request to have Isaac again. We contracted with Clarke and Rush to replace the HVAC system in our 50 year old home. Based on inspections by different contractors and an energy audit we learned that there were problems with both the subfloor and attic ductwork. We also decided it was a good time to benefit from multiple rebates by increasing the attic insulation, installing a whole house and replacing our old 40 gallon water heater with a circulating on-demand water heater. The HVAC and duct replacements were done by Dustin and Luke over the course of a week. They communicated regularly with us, worked very hard, above, below and in the house, and took great pride in their workmanship. We were impressed by their professionalism, and would gladly have them work for us again. The worked with others on their team to install the whole house fan and water heater, including running a new gas line to ensure proper pressures. The insulation work was done the following week by Art and T, who sealed seams, foamed the skylight shafts and blew insulation to 16" depth. Art took photos of the height markers throughout to show us when they were finished. All of the workers cleaned up their work spaces daily, were timely, courteous and friendly, and we were satisfied that the job had been well done. read more

I recently had a new AC system installed by Clarke & Rush, and I couldn't be happier with the service, especially given the extreme heat we've been experiencing (100-115 degrees). The technicians, Tobiah, Joseph, and Brayan, were exceptional. They were incredibly friendly, polite, and communicative throughout the entire process. Their efficiency was impressive, completing the installation in just one day, from 7am to 2pm. They were knowledgeable and professional, and I truly believe they deserve higher pay for their excellent work. I paid $11k for a new AC system (compared to other companies that were charging $18k+) , and the brand they recommended was Carrier. My old AC system was about 20 years old. The only downside to my experience was the quoting process. When you call for a quote, they don't give you a price over the phone. Instead, they send someone out to inspect your system and spend about an hour discussing their company and the brands they work with. It felt unnecessary, especially since the salesperson already had the quote amount written down on a paper before arriving. Despite this, the quality of the installation and the professionalism of the technicians made up for it. Overall, I highly recommend Clarke & Rush for their outstanding service. read more

Brian Webb is amazing! After I had a bad experience with another company that treated me like I wasn't worth anything , I called Clarke & Rush they didn't answer the phone so I start thinking I guess nobody will call me then mr. Webb called me set up an appointment for the next day which was Tuesday at 8 in the morning he showed up at 7:57 in the morning on Tuesday on time! I appreciate that my time is very valuable just like everyone else is. He told me that someone will be here on Wednesday the 21st to bring me a portable air conditioner until we get the air conditioner installed. It was a little mix-up I started getting disappointed so I called Brian he called me right back but I had already talked to the office and they sent someone over here within 10 to 15 minutes with the air conditioner that was so amazing! Clarke and Rush installed our old heating & air conditioner unit over twenty years ago. Last year we had it checked and the representative who came out to clean it, said it won't be long before we will need to replace it. We called recently to finally replace the whole thing. An advisor, Brian from Clarke and Rush, came out to give us an estimate. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable about financing options and replacement costs. We had a lot of questions. He was patient and gave us plenty of time to get another quote, and compare pricing and service. We went with Clarke and Rush, who's replacement costs were a little higher than some companies we called, but we came to the conclusion that we had been pleased with the old system and Clarke and Rush did the work and stood behind their product and installation. Why change now. The two representatives, Dustin and Scott could not have been more professional, polite, and efficient. Our house is around 70 years old and it wasn't always easy to maneuver in the attic. They never complained and worked hard to get the job done.
