My A/C of about 7 years old would occasionally blow warm air. With all the ads you see on TV and online, I decided to go with Clarke and Rush since they installed the system. Wow - a great experience across the board from requesting an appointment online, to getting a call and making the appointment to the actual service call. The technician, Zach, arrived easily within the service window. He was professional from the get go and listened to my explanation of the problems I was seeing. He conducted a thorough troubleshooting process and explained to me what he found. He then gave me his recommendations (again with detailed explanation) without being pushy. I was a customer for probably around five years. I won't use this company again. On or around June 12, 2026, my air conditioner seemed to be out. I called Clarke & Rush and they came out. The technician worked on it for a considerable amount of time. He said that the capacitor needed to be replaced. He then reported that it was not safe to run the system because my condenser needed to be replaced as well. He said that he needed to have their Comfort Advisor call me the next day to talk about a complete system replacement. The next day, I casually mentioned this to my mechanic as my car was also in the shop. Well, good thing I did! They recommended I get a second opinion and provided a company to contact. I called the second company and they came out within an hour or so. Around thirty minutes into the visit, I had air conditioning again. What had happened was that the Clarke & Rush technician wired the new capacitor wrong. This caused the fan to move in reverse and not cool the condenser, so the condenser couldn't work. What really upsets me is that due to this gross ineptitude, I had to roast in hell overnight in an 87 degree house and worry about my dog. Although I did get a call from a manager apologizing, the technicians they send out are just not very bright. I had one guy come out the time before who couldn't even find the batteries in the thermostat. He looked like he was about to rip the thing off the wall. I had to show him that it slid out sideways and not open from the front. The manager offered some sort of reimbursement for that service call, but I told him it wasn't necessary and he didn't press the issue. To date I've not received any refund. I also don't like that to be considered important to this company, I have to be in the maintenance club. If you aren't in that club, they don't come out right away. Even with that club membership, I was not important enough to get a portable air conditioner that same night. This was not only incompetent, it was dangerous. That technician kept talking about how it wasn't safe to run the system. If he really cared about safety, he would have got a portable air conditioner that same day. I'm not a young person, and to sit in an 87 degree house overnight with my dog was not really safe. Then a couple days ago, they send me an email asking me to vote for them as the best HVAC company. Unbelievable. In all the time I was a customer there, I had one competent technician. And that person isn't with the company anymore. I will never use these guys again. read more

After doing some research I had to decided to replace our old and now broken down heater with a ducted Mitsubishi system. We selected C&R because their bid was comparable to the others and friends had recommended them. The install went smoothly and Brian and crew did an excellent job. Unfortunately the unit I wanted wasn't available locally so the dealer offered up the Hi2 hyper heat model. If you're ever offered one - don't take it but that's a story for a Mitsubishi review. Luke the lead technician from Clarke and Rush went above and beyond (not a term I use often) to try to correct something that as it turns out was inherent to that machine. The willingness to expend labor hours and materials to gain a satisfied customer was exceptional. When C&R say they want a happy customer it's not talk it's action because they mean it. read more

After several quotes were received for a complete system replacement, I selected C&R and, to be honest, don't have enough space in this box to explain how pleased i am with the entire experience. They treated my property with respect throughout the installation process taking the time to lay down tarps on all the carpet areas they used to access my attic. This company used to have a great reputation, I used them 2 years ago with good results. Now this company has changed the way they do business. They used to do hvac repairs by troubleshooting. My a/c wouldn't come on so they replaced a relay switch which didn't fix the problem at a charge of $300. I was told my system was old and maybe I should consider replacing the system. I explained that I couldn't afford a new system and the tech explained the perils of recurring failures and suggested making payments as a possible solution. I asked for an estimate to repair and was quoted $4,000 to replace two circuit boards and a fan. I investigated the cost of parts quoted and discovered the parts were marked up nearly 400% more than I could buy them on my own. This company now appears to guessing which parts are failing and not actually diagnosing the error codes. I feel they are not interested in repairing my older (30yr) system but prefer a new install instead. Be aware if your system is older they want to sell you a new one! read more

We requested service when our upstairs heating unit did not seem to be working properly in December. After a condenser was changed, and the unit still didn 't seem quite right, we had a different technician (Zach) come out. He did some work on the outside unit that he hoped would resolve the issue of some overheating. We had Zach return in January after the holidays. He determined that the compressor needed to be replaced. It was under warranty and was replaced today. We had to pay for the labor.
