We walked in and seated ourselves. They offered your standard lunch and breakfast fare, with prices ranging from $8 and up. One thing that kind of stood out was that the servers were both slow and a tad bit snotty. I thought, the food better be effing good. The food itself was pretty good. I got the bacon, egg, cheese PLUS avocado panini with hashbbrowns. The hash was done perfectly. Crispy goodness. The panini was good. Nothing that wow'd me. Damn should've ordered the quiche. I capitalized PLUS because when I was ordering this said breakfast panini, waitess asked, do you want avocado in that? I let a laugh out and jokingly said, sure are you charging me extra? and she just grunted under her breath, and let out a sarcastic yeah. LOL. Yeah have a nice day too snotty beyotch. My friend got the quiche, which they are evidently known for. It had bacon, spinach, peppers, and cheese. It looked pretty impressive. I had been wanting to check this place out for quite some time, but due to various situations or insane crowds we ended up putting it on the back burner and I forgot about it for a while. We finally decided to venture on over here. I figured that knowing that this place gets busy and it is small, we better arrive very early. In fact, we made it almost ten minutes too early. Other people started showing up as well as the guy was setting up the tables outside and placing menus and utensils on the tables inside. Not to my surprise at all, the other people who came after us decided to just walk on in and seat themselves before we were able to, despite waiting for him to let us all know that it was open. I get quite annoyed by everyone's rudeness and the "I am above you attitude" these days. We went with a table at the end. All tables are the half booth and half chair situation. It is one long row so be prepared to get cozy with strangers. There is also bar seating and one nice round table at the corner by the window but it must have sat five to six people so we skipped on it to be nice. Other people didn't mind though and took it with two. I should have just done it myself. It got busy and full quick. It now told me that I don't know how often I would make it because of how fast it gets full and the annoyance. People started helping themselves to closing the door because THEY were cold, and others complained that they had to sit outside if they wanted to sit anytime soon. I was starting to feel a bit annoyed and flustered by it all. The guy working there was great though. He made sure to take our order first and get ours going because we arrived first and did not just barge in. I thought it was nice to be acknowledged for it and for it to be noticed. We try to do the right thing. He took our orders and got our meals going. A girl who worked there came in about ten minutes later. We finally came to the conclusion that the guy working there set up the place, took drink orders, served, took food orders, and we are assuming at this point that he was also cooking the food and bringing it out and helping people by bringing bills out later. The girl who came in helped people who came later, and chatted away behind the bar, and took the payments that she and the guy would bring up. I felt sorry for him and I know how he feels because I go through the same crap where I work. I ended up going with the eggs benedict. I have been ordering it a lot lately. Their style came on baguettes instead of English muffins, and came with ham, egg and hollandaise sauce. I ordered a side of fruit as my side instead of hash browns or breakfast potatoes. It was an additional $1.50. My husband went with the Denver omelet but substituted the ham for bacon. He chose the breakfast potatoes as his side. The breakfast potatoes are served until they run out. It turns out that they are French fries that reminded me of O'briens. We also got our choice of toast. I thought that the food was very good and my husband really seemed to enjoy his as well. The service from the man there was excellent. He was very friendly, and spot on and got everything right. Pricing seems to be average to a lot these days or a little on the higher side. I will definitely be back, maybe even for lunch, but I will be prepared to wait, or have to rush to be there right away for breakfast and still have a full house. Sadly, Fullerton doesn't have any places that serve a great breakfast. Today, we were looking for something good, not a chain, w/ healthy options, and in Fullerton. Only Rialto seemed to fit the bill. Maybe because it was a little late for breakfast (almost 11), there were tables available. We found the service to be good and food even better. They have one of the better buttermilk pancake that I've had in a while. Their pancake has a thin skin protecting a light and airy inside and has a slight malty flavor. It's really just the way I like it. Too bad it belonged to our little one but fortunately for me he couldn't finish it anyway. Their hash brown was also pretty awesome. It was simply grilled to a crispy brown on the outside - so simple yet so good. The boys just loved it. We also had the b/k burrito and a few egg dishes, all of which were very good. I walked in to this cafe and thought I was in a wine bar! Isn't this place's decor and vibe a little too sexy this early in the morning? Maybe that's the reason why there's a line to get in. This cafe being one of the new trendy places. I was expecting to be hopping-angry-famished by the time we got seated but the servers are friendly and efficient. As soon as patrons leave, they can get the tables cleaned and new patrons seated in no more than 3 minutes. Baguette French Toast Looks great. Tastes very good. Not too sweet. Just right! The berries were a very good addition. Just the right portion. Buttermilk Pancakes Very large and fluffy. Not rubbery at all. Smoked Salmon Scramble Perfect portion. Great tasting. Charming little brunch spot. Small, but cozy with a vintage feel. Came by at around 10am on Saturday and waited about 20 minutes. Once they were ready for us, they sat my girlfriend and I sat at the bar. It took about 10 minutes for our server to get us drinks (let alone another 10 to take our orders); however, we didn't mind since we were catching up. Note that if it was any other time, I probably would not have been as patient. I ordered their Quiche of the Day ($11) which was basically everything that was in the Wilshire Omelette while my friend ordered the All Veggies Omelette ($11). Quiche, while it looked small, was anything but that. It was very filling and very delicious! Hashbrowns were crispy and on point. Omelet was also good but nothing special. Rialto is such a great little breakfast place. Tiny but still trendy, it is bit like the modern day home kitchen. The coffee is served in giant mugs with a "R" stencil...very Anthropologie. In fact, the place itself reminds me a bit of Anthropoligie. I guess you men may not know what I'm talking about, so enough of that. As mentioned, it is small, and since the food is so good, expect a wait. They only take names, but not phone numbers, so unfortunately, you do have to hang around the storefront to wait for your name to be called. I was lucky enough to try a few of the items and they were all delcious, but the standout items was the breakfast crostini and the french toast. The breakfast crostini- Delicious with a good helping of smoked salmon on slices of fresh french baguettes. It is a small plate though, with 5 small slices, so this on its own might not be very filling. In fact, most of the plates here are on the smaller side (unlike other brunch restaurants that have huge portions) but I think the portions here are quite fitting for breakfast, for the most part. So no food coma here! The french toast: amazing. This is unlike any other french toast I've had, given that is isn't made with regular bread, dipped in egg batter, nor pan-fried. This french toast is made with two slices of french baguette, stuffed with mascarpone, topped with generous fruit and whipped cream. What I loved about it is that it wasn't too sweet or heavy, though it doesn't have any egg, so I guess you won't be getting any protein if that is what you want from your breakfast. Rialto Cafe was our first stop in Downtown Fullerton, and it set our expectations fairly high for the remainder of our grazing sessions in this area. The cafe is small, and though there was outdoor seating, we were able to sit down indoors as soon as we walked in. We didn't want too much to eat, so after the waitress came by a number of times to ask if we needed a couple of more minutes or not, we finally decided on splitting the Caprese panini with a side of dill potato salad. I looked around and noticed that most of the patrons were women. Don't get me wrong, there were also men here, but they were either with their girlfriend/wife/etc. or were sitting outside. There was definitely a reason for this. The decor is rather girly. Not ostentatiously effeminate, but just enough to make some manly men uncomfortable. My rumination was cut short when the food came, and they split everything up without us having to say anything (I give extra brownie points to restaurants that do little things like this)! The panini had the right amount of crisp and crunch. It wasn't too oily, and the ingredients were as fresh as can be. The potato salad was divinely simple... it didn't have too much of a wow factor, but I could have cared less. Our mini-meal was just enough to whet our appetites. Last time I brunched here, I tried the Egg in the Nest. It's an egg nestled into a slice of whole grain toast topped with a melted slice of Swiss cheese and served avocado + pico de gallo with a side of home fries. I liked it, but a little on the bland side. I spiced things up with a healthy dose of tabasco sauce, but I probably wouldn't order it again. Word on the street was that they had some stellar potatoes but unfortunately since I came a bit later in the day (2pm) they were all out. The restaurant itself is pretty small. You can hear a lot of other conversations/things going on in the restaurant. While I was eating my meal with some friends, the group of people at the bar were a bit rowdy. It looked like they were friends of the employees since they were all hanging out and talking to each other. I totally get hanging out with your friends and the local feel of the cafe - but they were very loud and not very respectful or courteous of the rest of us in the restaurant. Luckily, I went on a weekday morning and got to dogwatch by the window while eating. I've been craving burritos for some reason and got the breakfast burrito Becky style ($2 more for avocado and red pepper aioli). Nice little gem in downtown Fullerton! Wife and I were looking for a brunch spot and decided to check this place out since we had walked by it a few times in the past. It's a very small restaurant with maybe 9-10 tables inside and four or so tables outside. It's generally pretty busy during the weekend so I would advise that you arrive early so you don't have to end up waiting (because it can take a while!) Eggs Benedict - nothing special here but I thought it was good. It just wasn't "out of this world" but a safe option if this is what you like. I was more sad at the fact that they ran out of breakfast potatoes and it wasn't even 11am yet. Come on Rialto! Get it together :) Not your average French toast - probably my favorite item here. What makes it different is the fact that it is on a French baguette! The mascarpone cheese and berry compote go together REALLY well. It's two slices of baguette so enough for one or shared as a dessert for two. Service is good considering how busy it is. I just had to remind them once to bring water and straws. Like I said, they're busy so I understood. I'll probably come back but this time they better not run out of the breakfast potatoes! read more

The food here is average. The wait staff is kind and they have a great atmosphere, but we would have been happier spending $8 at a grocery store than the $35 we spent here. Overall, the food was bland and not seasoned well. I'm sure the folks who run it are great, but we spent our drive home talking about where we wished we had went to breakfast. Came here on a Saturday morning. There was already a line at 10am but the wait time wasn't too bad. We got the Wilshire omelet, smoked salmon scramble, and French toast to share. Everything was delicious and their potatoes and hash brown sides were esp yummy. The only thing was their mimosa was smaller than what we expected... But overall the experience was great. read more

Cute spot in downtown Fullerton. Amazing service and the best thing I had eaten was the strawberry crepes!!! The coffee was absolutely tasty and amazing!! I drink it black and the waitress has shared they brew Stumptown fresh!!! Yummmmmm Service was fast and the food was good. I didn't get to order any of the more popular items just because I don't like smoked salmon for breakfast ... ( Whoops party foul ) but seriously that doesn't mean this place is not good!!! Writing my review a bit late as I visited a few weeks ago. But I just love the environment and how quaint the cafe is. I ordered the smoked salmon scramble and it was so yummy! It was simple but surprisingly filling with the potatoes and toast. I didn't get a chance to try the other dishes but I definitely want to come back to try the french toast! read more

Rialto Cafe was the perfect place to come and catch up with some friends over brunch. My friends and I arrived at around 9:30 on Sunday morning and were seated within a half hour; although that seems like a long time to wait for breakfast foods, it was actually quite reasonable considering that we had a party of six! The staff was extremely friendly and approachable with whatever we needed, despite the fact that they were so busy with a packed house. I ordered the eggs benedict with a side of hash browns, and Oh. My. God - the hollandaise sauce was to die for! It was perfectly buttery with a slight hint of lemon, complimenting the poached eggs very well. Not only that, the eggs were paired with a less traditional ham and crostini-like bread, both of which enhanced the rustic flavor and overall look of the dish. The hash browns were golden brown and crispy, the way hash browns are meant to be! My friends ordered the salmon scramble, huevos rancheros, and the breakfast French toast - they all were extremely pleased and we were super full by the end of the meal. I would definitely come here again (especially for that amazing hollandaise sauce) and will bring more friends to share this delicious food with! read more

Just ok... This place gets crowded for b-fast so we came early. Small quaint place with limited seating. Food - The Wilshire Omelette was good, I liked the ingredients. The hash brown wasn't cooked enough and had no flavor. The Eggs in a nest we're very good at all. Just a thin piece if toast with an egg and cheese. The potatoes it came with weren't cooked enough as they were tough inside and were terrible. I also didn't lime that my toast wasn't buttered so when I did add butter, it melt into the toast. I also didn't like the small fork that I had. Kind of my issue I guess, but still. Maybe I'm too critical with this. Oh well. Service - 2 waiters seemed busy but the place wasn't crowded and they never refilled our coffee until the end of meal. Overall we were disappointed since this place seems so popular. read more

Hipster little place for brunch. Caution: dogs/large parties Went on a Friday afternoon, had roughly a five minute wait, not bad at all. There is seating indoors and outdoors. BEWARE: 1) I don't think they allow dogs (other than service dogs) even if it's outside. I saw a couple with a dog get turned away with the waitress saying something about they can't accommodate dogs and it wasn't their rules? If you want to bring a dog, I'd call ahead just to be sure. 2) They do not take parties of more than six people The place itself is small and quaint as some people have said. Personally I thought it was a little hipster, but not TOO hipster. The food was on point. I ordered the smoked salmon scramble. The eggs were nice and fluffy with a faint taste of the smoked salmon. The salmon itself was arranged beautifully and tasted delicious. Best smoked salmon I have had in a while. Their breakfast potatoes were similar to fries, just not fried. And my order came with toast (sourdough, wheat, or rye) with butter and jam. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal.
