Met a client for lunch who is in the cattle business ... we both had the "executive lunch" which was one of the best sirloin steaks I've had in years. The service was wonderful, but man, I can't stop thinking about when I can get back to have another lunch there. Perfectly medium rare, seasoned to perfection and delivered sizzling. I love when a steak is a good cut of beef and cooked exactly how I order it and this was delicious perfection. Once upon a time this was a great restaurant. Food service and ambiance. Well that was as nice as it got. She had the empathy and friendly service of a rock. Which means zero. You know when you run into an acquaintance and they keep asking you "how are you ?" Repeatedly throughout the convo because they really aren't listening nor do they really care. Well that is Dawn. We ordered RC ... Lemonade specialty drink. "We are out of lemonade , we were so busy today " Okay Water is fine We ordered Fried Green Tomatoes "We are out of Fried green Tomatoes, we are also out of Rib Eye steak we did over $40,000 today it was busy " Okay we ordered 2 filet mignons, baked potato with the works, wedge salad , 1lb ribs , top sirloin "We are out of lettuce Wedges we went through 20 boxes " We ordered a Caesar Waited a reasonable amount of time for the order to arrive Dawn came to our table and advised she was getting our food ready to be served, but ran out of baked potatoes At this point all the goodies I looked forward to having with my steak were non existent. : no wedge salad , no baked potato no fried green tomatoes. Hindsight I should have canceled my steak and ordered a burger Steaks arrive. We ordered med rare. All three steaks came out rare with one of them practically mooing. I kept mine as rare doesn't bother me. We sent two back for additional cook time. By now I realized Dawn could care less Not once was she apologetic or expressed any empathy. Every disappointment she dished out was recited to us as if this was normal protocol. It was actually pretty surprising that she's in the service industry. She asked if we wanted dessert. My kids and I were discussing the different dessert options maybe for 10 seconds and there goes Dawn walking away from the table. I guess no dessert She comes back and sweetly offers to clear the table. Took our plates which to me was appreciated after she returned from taking our plates she asked us again if we wanted dessert. We declined. She brought us the check I reviewed the check and we were charged for the extras on the non existent baker potatoes. Dawn didn't even bother checking her work, you know why ? Because she doesn't care. I asked her to remove the charges and since she was here I wanted the $3.95 Bleu Cheese steak topping removed as well. I politely told her it wasn't edible She had to have noticed it was scrapped off. I stated It was Too salty. Dawn responded with "we don't add salt to the bleu cheese, that is the way it is ". Are you kidding me??!!!! This lady is awful. After all the disappointments with our visit you would think she would exhibit a little bit of fake empathy Nope ! She promptly told us she needed to check with her manager ..... we get the revised check and the baked potato charges were referenced as a "comp" the bleu cheese charge was removed. We asked to speak with the manager. This gave us all the answers we needed. This woman stood there poker faced. Exhibited zero care nor added any comment to alleviate the situation. She listened and responded with " I hope we can have the opportunity to serve you better in the future. " what the heck ?? She was a younger version of Dawn. She admitted nothing was wrong. She didn't offer us anything to make it right Whether it would be a free appetizer or a gosh darn free baked potato!! We left there astonished. It takes a whole lotta bad to bring me to the 2 star section of Yelp. But this was so shocking. Prior to today we always looked forward to eating here on our once a year Cheyenne Frontier Days trip. Never again. This place has completely pivoted to the dark side of crummy and downright bad. This place has gone thru 3 general managers in 6 months. Seems like most of the staff quit with previous mgr. Tonight we had ribeye and pork chop. Both were excellent. Server was late after our arrival, seemed distant. Not close to level of service when Shauna, Olivia and our favorite server Kayla were there. We belong to the Royalty Club and our bill tonight was confusing. Our server disappeared so I went to front desk for explanation. Just not a good dining experience at all. Stopped here while doing a quick run through of downtown Cheyenne on our cross country road trip. The device, decor and store front were all top notch. So was the food. I got the ribeye and it was very tender and delicious. The wife got the chicken fried chicken and said it was the best she had ever had. The oldest daughter got jambalaya and was left satisfied. Kids menu items come in a little car tote thing. So my younger kiddos enjoyed that. We bought a few souvenir Cheyenne shirts too since my second youngest name is Cheyenne.
