    Pork topped potato.
    Tim A.

First thing I notice when I walked in was the contemporary Christian music playing and a sign that tennis is that Jesus is Lord. That was enough to gain 1 star in my book. I love a business that is willing to share their faith. Parking is a little odd. You pass building and park around back. Not a problem, just different. I was seated right away and the server got my drink right away. I had the pork topped baked potato. I ordered and in 3 minutes it was on my table. The potato was cooked perfect, there was a ton of pork as well as the other toppings like cheese and bacon. Before I ordered i asked if the pork was sliced, chopped or pulled. Pulled is my last favorite way to eat pork. She told me it was chopped so I stayed worth the pork. I would have ordered beef if she said it was pulled but it is definitely pulled. It wasn't bad just not my first choice. They have a hot bbq sauce with really good flavor that i recommend. The server came around regularly and my experience was good. It is really close to the airport, I would come again.

The wings were amazing! Got the dry rub and they were lip smacking good!! The chopped chicken and beef definitely needed sauce. Green beans were good and a little spicy. The lady at the drive thru window was super nice. Would come back for those wings for sure!!

Very established BBQ restaurant in Brainerd area that has been around for at least 35 years. They have had that staying power for good reason. Good food, friendly service, nice portions, makes for a good all around dining experience. The BBQ is better than most for sure. Sides are good, slaw is a little too mayonnaisey for my taste, but that's me. Potato salad is good as are the baked beans. Onion rings are also better than average and definitely worth a try as are their fries! All in all, if you are in the area and craving Q, Rib & Loin is worth a stop.

Very nice people and good amount for the money. Sadly, you absolutely need bbq sauce for the brisket. Everything was good and hot and served nicely. I had plenty at lunch that I didn't eat dinner. The fried okra was really good and fried well. Well pleased with cooks for putting my tomato, pickle and mayo on the side. Probably if it would have had more seasoning, I would not have used the mayo and pickles. It is not horrible but I have definitely had better. Always nice to try a non-chain restaurant when traveling.

According to my friend that lives in Chattanooga, Rib and Loin is the hometown favorite for BBQ. Rib and Loin was voted best BBQ in Chattanooga from 2008-2016. It was very busy for a Sunday at lunch. The decor makes you think of a log cabin. When you go to the bathroom, there are logos 4 SEC teams hanging up. I thought it was hilarious that Auburn wasn't one of them since I am a Bama fan. Anyway, on to my entree. I went with the 3 meat combo of ribs, pork, and beef with sides of slaw and beans. The first meat I had was the ribs. Well Rib and Loin proved it lives up to its name. The ribs were hands-down the best meat on my plate. They were spare ribs with a good baste on them with just an excellent grilled taste. If I come back to Rib and Loin, I will be getting just the ribs. The beef and pork was good but was very pale in comparison to the ribs. The pork and beef came chipped. I think the pork was a little bit better. It seemed the seasoning just sank in better with the pork. There are 2 sauces. Both went well with all the meats and were tomato base. The regular is a mild, not very sweet but tangy sauce. The 2nd is a hot sauce and for a guy that loves some heat, the heat was substantial from the hot BBQ sauce. The slaw was very creamy and sweet. The beans were made from scratch and had a smoky, BBQ flavor to them. I usually order potato salad but I asked the waiter if it had celery in it. He said he thought so. He should make a note that there is a ton of celery in the potato salad. If you hate celery like me, stay away from it here. My sweet tea was refreshingly sweet! Rib and Loin is a solid choice for BBQ in Chattanooga. But I am afraid it is the sentimental choice for many to call it the best BBQ in Chattanooga. The ribs might be the best and the rest is pretty good.

Industrial floor cleaner aroma while you eat? A given. This has happened more than once, and it's hard not to notice the pattern. Drinks? $3.99 across the board, from fountain soda to Jarritos. To-go orders come with a "convenience" fee. Tip with a card? Parking is pretty decent for the area, with at least one handicapped space right in front of the entrance door. Walking in was surprisingly cozy, with wood on the walls and muted colors for the seating. We were greeted on entry and seated quickly. Seating is a mix of tables and booths. Our waitress left menus and took our drink order as we sat down. The menu is rather extensive. The primary cuisine is Mexican, but they also offer traditional recipe pizzas as well as chicken wings. Many dishes are cooked in a wood fired oven. Our drinks came quickly, and we still needed time to make our selections. After a few more minutes, our waitress returned and we placed our orders. We did not receive any salsa and chips for the table, which was a bit surprising for a Mexican restaurant. We decided to order their homemade guacamole to start. The appetizer came out in maybe five minutes. The portion was much smaller than expected, and the guacamole was bland. It needed a good addition of both salt and garlic to improve the flavor. In addition, the chips were straight from the bag, without even being warmed. The food took about ten minutes or so to be brought to the table. The Pollo a la lena is two wood fired pieces of chicken, along with salad, refried beans, and rice. It also comes with your choice of wheat or corn tortillas. The chicken was tender and juicy, very well spiced with additional flavor from the wood oven. The refried beans are not the typical gray mush but actually have noticeable black beans. The rice was typical, but included corn, peas, and carrot pieces for additional flavor. The salad included crisp lettuce and diced tomatoes, onions, and jalapenos. The corn tortillas are made in house and compared well to the other components of the dish. I would absolutely order this outstanding dish again. The pollo loco was another good dish. The ratio of chicken to rice was good, and the amount of cheese was less than typical, which allowed more of the other flavors to come through. The asada torta was also good. The ingredients were plentiful compared to the bread, and everything seemed fresh and very flavorful. Even the french fries were well made. The chimichanga was the least liked dish, but still tasted good. It was prepared well and had a nice cheese topping. On it's own it would be a good choice, only suffering in comparison to the other outstanding dishes. One word of caution: the salsa accompanying the pollo a la lena and the torta is surprisingly spicy. The heat is deceptive, coming on slowly and lingering awhile. Although I was surprised at first taste, I included it in every bite of chicken, so it is addictive. Based on this visit, I definitely want to try more options from the menu, especially the pizzas.

Casual, colorful, the kind of spot where you expect someone to walk in wearing flip flops and carrying a fishing pole. Comfortable vibe. Easy place to settle in and see what the fryer can do. First up were the fried green tomatoes. They came out looking like they'd just won a beauty pageant. Crispy outside, tender inside, cooked exactly right. Texture nailed. But flavor-wise they felt like they forgot their gym bag at home. Needed salt. Needed a little personality. A rare moment where the fryer did its job but the seasoning clocked out early. Then the headliner arrived. The fried chicken at Champy's Famous Fried Chicken has a reputation to protect, and thankfully it shows up ready to work. Crisp, flavorful crust. Juicy inside. The kind of chicken that crunches just enough to make everyone at the table look over and get jealous. "If the deep fryer had a Hall of Fame, Champy's chicken is getting a first-ballot vote." And then came the move that sealed the deal. A dip into Champy sauce. Suddenly the flavor level jumped another notch. Salty, tangy, just enough punch to make the crust shine even more. The sleeper hit though? The cole slaw. Creamy, balanced, and actually refreshing next to all the fried goodness. It's the quiet kid in class who ends up acing the exam. Easy to overlook, but absolutely worth ordering. Now for the tiny curveball. I happened to land there on karaoke night. And let's just say... the speakers believed they were performing at an arena concert. Loud enough that conversation required leaning halfway across the table and reading lips. On the flip side, the crowd was clearly having a blast. A few genuinely good singers, a few that were more... enthusiastic than talented, and plenty of people cheering them on. Honestly, respect to anyone with the courage to grab a microphone in a room full of strangers. So no star deductions for that. The people who showed up to sing were having the time of their lives. Bottom line, Champy's Famous Fried Chicken is a fun place with seriously good fried chicken. Order the bird, grab the slaw, lean into the fried side of the menu, and enjoy the show if karaoke happens to be on the schedule. Just maybe bring your singing voice... or your earplugs.
