We love Chinese food, and honestly had been underwhelmed by the restaurants we tried in the area after moving here a few years ago. The restaurant is located in a strip mall - clean, neat with a few tables and booths (but you can also reserve for large groups). This place was on the list to try and I'm so glad we did! First, Alice, who is one of the owners, waited on us and could not have been more friendly or personable - she is a joy! The restaurant serves a number of different Asian cuisines - in addition to Chinese there are Thai, Japanese and Vietnamese offerings as well. We started with pan-fried gyoza which were SO good - fresh and flavorful. Hubs loves kimchi so had to try theirs - he inhaled the bowl and declared it amazing (I'm not a fan but it did smell yummy and garlicky!!). He enjoyed it so much he got an order to go as well. I tried my go-to Chinese favorite Kung Pao Chicken - it was quite good, well spiced, full of fresh veggies and lots of peanuts. Next time I'll probably get it with shrimp or tofu. Hubs had Pad Kee Mao with chicken (Thai hot!) and loved it. Although we were too full, the almond pudding on the menu did sound good - maybe next time! read more

The restaurant is really beautiful, such a cool vibe! Loved all the small plates, great variety of food. The bolognese pasta dish was amazing, highly recommend it!! We tried a lot of small plates, everything was so delicious and pretty good portion. The only complaint I had was the ceviche, the shrimp were raw and mushy. We will definitely be back. read more

Alice was great and provided excellent recommendations. Loved the jumbo garlic shrimp. Wasn't a fan of their tea. They used tea bags. Wished they used loose leaf tea. Great service by the woman (who appeared to be one of the owners) and the food seemed to be being cooked by the other owner who is her husband. We based this assumption of who is who on their "story" on the menu. So, the woman was efficiently and very friendly in caring for each and every table on our Sunday lunch visit. We came in hungry and we're promptly greeted and seated. The server brought us a little bowl of wontons and a sauce for dipping while we looked over the menu. The wontons were great as we came in hungry and ready to eat! We started with a Summer Roll that was stuffed with veggies and shrimp and served with a peanut sauce. For our entrees were ordered Pad Thai, Panang Chicken and Bibimbop. Everything came out piping hot. The menu is broken down into Thai, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Curry, Hibachi... Ordinarily that would be a bit extensive for a menu but they keep the selections in each category smaller so that helps to make the choices easier and preparation and serving more efficient. I ordered a Szechuan dish and it definitely was not remotely Szechuan tasting. Outside of that the flavor was okay. Service was good though. I probably wouldn't get the same dish again or recommend, but I would try something else. They do offer multiple types of cuisines and that could be why the dish came out like it did. If you want true Asian flavors that are true to their country of origin then Rice Bistro is the place to go. The ingredients are always fresh and prepared to perfection. My wife always raves about how well the vegetables are prepared and having spent a year in Korea I can attest to the authenticity of their Korean dishes. However, I love their Thai and Vietnamese dishes as well. My wife is partial to the Chinese menu items. We have never been disappointed with any of our orders. I didn't think I would find authentic Chinese dishes outside of Orlando but here we are! Because their menu spans all the most common Asian cuisines - Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai and Japanese - we decided to assess from a few angles. We started with Thailand and a bowl of Tom kha (coconut lemongrass soup) which while the broth was a tad sweet for me and I was missing the lemongrass and lime leaf, they did excellent with the seafood, adding it just at the end so it was still tender. The chicken satay were perfectly cooked with crispy edges and moist inside, only critique was they put the delicious peanut sauce on top rather than allowing us to dip as we want. My father tried the sizzling plate with pork intestines and while he usually prefers them fried and crispy these were pillowy soft and tender with an addictive spicy sauce. I opted for the hot pot pork belly which came in big meaty chunks with lightly steamed bok choy that retained its crunch and simmered shiitake, bamboo shoots and whole water chestnuts in a sort of five spice sauce. Delicious and comforting. Decor is a bit strange, abstract pictures on the walls, a tin siding bar area that looks more at home in a lakeside backyard than a restaurant, but it was comfortable. Service was great considering I only ever saw one guy doing the whole floor (there was only one party when we got there because it was quite early). This would be my second time here and as always, this place never disappoints. They have their own fusion Asian cuisine takes that make all of their menu item delicious and eaten more than once. They have multiple different Asian regions to try from so you can tell me yourself how it performs. The owner is great. She's has high standards and expects excellence every time. It comes with it down sides but as a customer, you can expect great food and great customer service. As you walk, you have two isle and all the seat is comfortable and inviting. They have a wine section for a bit of wine tasting or wine pairing. They also make some substitutions if you wish, which is always a plus for my people. First time to this place - we get a server who is on her first day working here. I can overlook some of the issues that come with inexperience. Summary; Wonton Soup was great, Egg Rolls very good, wife's Curry with Chicken - she loved it - Me; Ordered the Drunken Noodles with beef, it showed up with a huge pile of wide but thin over-cooked noodles in a weak, flavorless sauce and no beef to be found. Sent it back it came back with thin slabs of beef that had no flavor and were just chewy and weird - honestly after three or four bites I pushed the entire plate away. IMO - just awful flavorless mush. I had never had this dish before and I googled it when after I was served it and mine didn't look anything like any other of the images I saw for this same dish at other restaurants. None. I also think $11 a glass for a small pour of "house wine" is about $3 per glass too much for the brand of wine that's "house wine". I will go back, skip the wine and order something differente next time. Wife enjoyed her meal so much that she too wants to go back and she'd order the same thing - she loved it. We stopped here on the way to Orlando, because of their menu options AND the yelp reviews....and we were SO glad. After inquiring about our preferences,, the owner herself and our server both provided recommendations. They were confident that whatever we chose, their dishes would be of high quality....and THEY. WERE. ACCURATE. All 3 of our dishes were superbly created. The Singapore noodles were delicious and packed with shrimp. We added beef in our eggplant dish and they added a generous portion...and to our delight, there were also other mixed veggies in the dish (mushrooms, carrots, snap peas, etc). Most other places cook this dish with only eggplant. But the TRUE star of the day was our fresh, whole flounder, steamed and flavored to perfection. The fish was gorgeous in its light sauce of ginger, scallions, and cilantro. Our fellow yelpers were absolutely right about RICE BISTRO. This place is ON POINT. The staff are wonderful, the food is prepared deliciously and served beautifully, the restaurant is very clean with a number of parking spaces, and the staff/owner are very friendly and professional.
