We love Chinese take-out but bc of the lack of cleanliness, taste, etc are very selective & picky but we have had the best luck at Rice Pot. The food is terrific, everything we've tried has been great. The honey sesame chicken is my & my daughters fav. It's so freakin good & still crunchy under all the gooey sauce. The shrimp fried rice is so yummy & good size shrimp not those tiny ones you can barely see, my son likes everything but the teriyaki & sesame chicken are his favs, my hubby got the happy family the other night & ate it up. The egg drop soup is good, we order here regularly & never had anything bad. The Only complaint I have is that we like egg rolls not so much spring rolls but they only have shrimp egg rolls & alot of people can't eat shellfish so I wish they wld add some pork/chicken egg rolls & it wld be 5star. Lets be honest, it is hard to find a good Chinese restaurant in Desoto, Lancaster, Cedar Hill and Duncanville...until now! The hubby and I didn't feel like driving into the city for Chinese food so we turned to Yelp for help and decided to visit Rice Pot and I am glad that we did. I ordered the Orange Chicken with fried rice and hubby ordered the Dragon Phoenix which consisted of half an order of Seasme Chicken and Sweet and Sour Chicken. Unbelievable customer service. Online ordering somehow flawed so it accidentally ordered a double order. Called to cancel the doubled order to the intended single order. Somehow it is impossible to give a refund. 'The manager' Juan who apparently has no ability to give a refund offered to give me all the food and give it free next time and wouldn't budge from this position saying, "Hey man, you ordered it so I can do anything about it." I don't want double the food, just the intended order and a refund as it's already out of my bank account. Where do they they hire these people? So frustrated that I canceled all my orders. But, of course, they aren't offering a refund. I'm going to have to find other ways to get back my $84 of a double order. Wretched. read more

Came into town for a few days and this restaurant popped up on Yelp. Read the reviews, went and we were not disappointed. It was 5 of us and our orders varied between lo mein, pad thai and fried rice. All of us enjoyed our orders. Orders are definitely Texas sized! We all took home doggie bags. Chicken was that process meat few other items that could have tested more better since their season was good. Got take away there Saturday and the Orange chicken was just bits of fried batter & skin, very very little chicken & the sauce was way too sweet. The Orange Chicken was the best I've found around here. The only downfall was that for the price I didn't get that much. I'm used to normally making at least two meals out of Chinese food but this was only enough for one. My wife and I picked up some food for lunch on Sunday. I got the Pad Thai with pork, my wife got the Happy Family, and my son got the fried rice with pork. They include eggrolls with the lunch servings between 11 and 3. The positives first. My wife and son enjoyed their entrees, and the eggrolls, although a little bland, were not greasy. At most places the eggrolls are bland and greasy. The only real problem was the pad thai didn't taste vaguely like pad thai. It had very few noodles, and they weren't pad thai noodles. The were large square noodles. The sauce didn't taste like the sauce that is normally on pad thai, and although it was topped with chopped peanuts, the didn't have the squeeze of lime that is a key element of pad thai. Finally, to top it off, it was marked as spicy on the menu, and had absolutely NO heat. It wasn't a terrible dish, far from it. However, if you call it pad thai, it should really be pad thai. I will probably give them another try later, but I will definitely not give the pad thai another chance. The only reason I ordered pad thai somewhere other than at a thai restaurant was that on their menu the restaurant billed itself as Asian, not as Chinese and Hawaiian as they do on the yelp page. read more
