Food- felt like everything was an inari-style pocket flipped upside-down and topped. Used to get inari from the grocery store and it'd be a sweet tofu pouch filled with sushi rice and flipped so you couldn't see the rice. Well, they've flipped it back over and parked some other stuff (salmon, tuna, seaweed salad) and voilà! Service- minimal. Unfortunately it looked like everything had been premade and the ones not place into a cardboard boat (already pre-placed) were over-refrigerated and the rice tasted accordingly. (cold and kinda hard) [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance- like a donut shop but with this specific kind of sushi.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was just about a block away from Sac City College, not that that had anything to do with any of the clientele. Everything was about $5 per item. It was a good amount of rice but like I said before, it had some stuff on top of the inverted inari. Spicy salmon, tuna, etc. The extra sauces were either in squeeze bottles or ketchup-style packets. Unagi, teriyaki, soy and sriracha sauces were there to flavor up your goods. I'd go back someday if in the area. I think these places caught on in the Bay and it's getting easier to store and transport seafood so sure, park it in the middle of the city and let's see how it goes! Didn't try the corn and cheese one. May have missed out. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Be different. Try it. If you don't like it, that's cool too.
I also wished I lived closer so that I could conveniently grab food to go on a regular basis. I got to try a selection of their inari bombs, egg salad, spicy crab, spice tuna, spicy salmon, and yuzu miso salmon. The yuzu miso salmon was the most flavorful, and the spicy crab was much spicier than the spicy tuna or spicy salmon. Though, what surprised me the most was that even as leftovers the next day, the rice was not hard and still tasted great the next day!
I loved Rice Theory. Lots of convenient handheld snacks packed ready to go. I wish I lived closer to buy more regularly, but it's probably better for my bank account that I don't! I got there before noon on a Sunday, so I had great selection. My eyes were bigger than my stomach, so I impulse purchased a lot on my long awaited first visit. I think I spent at least $50. Bill adds up fast. Price range is $2 to $9.50 as of June 2026. The most common price or mode is $4.75. There is a rewards punch card. I think you get a stamp for every $15 you spend. These were my favorites: * Sukiyaki Beef Roll $5 * Unagi Shrimp Roll $6.50 * Mayo Wasabi Salmon Inari $4.75 * Unagi & Egg Musubi $5.25 Depending how large each item is and how hungry you are, I would say order 1-3 items. Sukiyaki Beef was my favorite filling. Other Yelpers liked the Kurobuta Sausage the best, but I don't love its texture. I plan to try the onigiri one day. The SPAM & Bacon Onigiri and Spicy Beef Onigiri look appetizing. Some ingredients can fall out or fall apart, so they can be messy to eat. If you use sauces, that could lead to drips. The rolls fully wrapped in nori seaweed sheets and the musubi are the better handheld items. You can get fresh soy milk and Chinese herbal teas here. I would be interested in trying the well-rated Prunella tea in the future. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Small barebones restaurant with limited seating: 2 tables for 2 and 2 long benches. Most customers order to go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's an area with sauces (Unagi, Teriyaki, Yuzu, Sriracha, Soy), condiments, sauce containers, utensils, and napkins.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]
When we first arrived at 1031 there was a sign saying they would be opened late for about 15 minutes bc deliveries were being made in the process. So we had another errand to run & returned about 23 minutes later. The door had like a code but it was unlocked so we were able to enter right away. There were customers inside already. I saw spam musabi & my wife ordered several just bc we wanted some the day before but the business we visited was out. My bad anyway for not searching earlier in the day. They had lots of variations of musabi so you can basically choose what you want. Best time to come is when they first open. I think personally. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance of this business is very cute, neat, organized & clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I took multiple photos of it inside but if you have questions I'm sure the employee there can assist you. Perfect for those picnics or a snack for a future road trip. Even though Oto's is just diagonally across the street they have totally different varieties of items on top of the rice for you. One must check this small business out. It's super kawaii & unique! It looks like they open everyday too. Parking is limited in this strip mall so best to shop early! What are you waiting for?
Ordered the kimchi salmon, eel, and bulgolgi. Each was about $4-5ish. I really enjoyed the salmon - it was fresh and tasty! The eel was okay VERY FATTY and very gelatinous. The skin was hard to eat. The bulgolgi was VERY DRY, flavor was okay but I just could not finish it bc the meat was so hard to eat :(. The person that helped me was attentive and it's a grab and go type of place. Overall I probably wouldn't come back again.
If I'm in the area again, I'll definitely stop by. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not in the most attractive strip mall yet it oddly works as a grab and go place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is open yet they only have 2 small tables, wall benches and a handful of chairs. Definitely not a place you can dine at, not good for large groups either.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Thankfully a family left so I was able to snag a table. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The cases are a bit hazy but you can still see what's available. Easy to read the menu as you scan the cases.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The worker was attentive and offered suggestions since I like all things spicy. But sadly they weren't spicy enough for me. No worries as they have a condiments bar with sriracha, eel sauce, etc. You can take sauces to go and pick up napkins and utensils as well. My 5 items was about $23. A good deal imo. They were not shy with their filling. A bit heavy on the rice for me but not a deal breaker.

I found out about rice theory from 2 good to go (2gtg), so whenever I was able to snag a bag from here through that app, the food was pretty decent from what I received. Parking is very tight since it's on a strip plaza and shares parking with other shops. I like spam musubi and rice balls, so this place is a "hidden" gem to me. They have a variety of rice balls, onigiri, rolls, inaris, and rice bowls. It's very convenient for if you want to do a picnic, want a snack to eat in the car when going out of town or a good snack for hiking. The rolls are easy for grab and go. The prices are decent, and I feel like you're getting your money's worth. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside the shop, there's 2 tables for you to dine in, but it's best to take it to go since inside the shop is a bit small.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Last time I was here, I got the spam musubi and Kurobuta sausage roll. I enjoyed both. They are a bit on the smaller side, but I'm okay with that. I haven't gotten a chance to try their inari, onigiri, or rice bowls. I'll have to make time to come back. Customer service is great also. The young cashier's behind the the register were patient with me while I looked at all the options and asked them a few questions. They were quick and efficient once I started naming iff my order. I'll be back!
Finally got to try this place out! Visited earlier today and was glad they were open. Plenty of options to choose from and easy to order. In and out in 10 minutes. Fresh options and we enjoyed all the things we ordered. We definitely will be back.
I've been wanting to try Rice Theory and I'm so glad I got a chance to try it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's such a cute grab and go place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I went there at 1 pm so about half the stock was still left. I ordered the plain onigiri, wakame salad inari, wasabi salmon inari, crab meat roll, spicy crabstick onigiri, and smoked salmon and cream cheese onigiri. I cut up the crab meat roll in pieces so it was like sushi. The smoked salmon and cream cheese onigiri was pretty good like a Philly roll. It was a bit more Americanized with the smoked salmon slices. Kid friendly options are the plain onigiri and wakame salad inari. My kids like the plain onigiri which was flavored with some seasoning and they liked the wakame (seaweed) without the inari. Most of the food is behind a case so they will grab it for you. Service is fast and they package everything so cutely. They also sell drinks and some decorations. I loved everything I ordered and there's definitely more I want to try. I'll definitely be back.
I actually went to Oto Oto Market across the street to get a bento box but apparently on Mondays they do not have any prepared food. As I was leaving, I saw Rice Theory right across the street so went there. They have a wide range of options in regards to musubis. I went with the standard spam and also the sukiyaki one. Both were very well made and tasty. They have them premade so getting in and out was fast so if you are in a hurry, this is a great place.
This was an impromptu stop. My friend and I were doing some trinket box treasure hunting on March 6th and got very peckish around 3:00 p.m. We were by rice theory and my friend had said that he had tried it a long time ago somewhere else and was wondering if this was the same place. So we stopped in. When we got there we were greeted by the individual behind the cash register and she asked us if we had any questions. We asked what were some of the more popular items chosen and she gave us a rundown of what people typically get. We did enjoy her because she was playful about buying basically a handful of items to give everything a little bit of taste. We decided to have the RT roll, spicy tuna salad inari, and the tuna egg salad. [[HIGHLIGHT]]While we waited we checked out the rest of the store which was super cute. As you could tell with some of my pictures they had some really cool items for purchase near the cash register that were connected to chinese/lunar New Year. And there was all these little designs throughout the shop that were just so playful and fun.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space itself was not very large but definitely comfortable. There was music playing in the background and it was just a nice space to casually be in and enjoy a nice moment with friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The items we got were definitely delicious great flavors, not overly spicier creamy, and the vegetables added into them were definitely fresh because they had a nice crunch to them. I want to definitely go back and try the rest of the food there because again what we had as a snack was definitely yummy yummy yummy
Maybe I received an old batch of the spam musubi since it was towards the end of the day, because the one I ate had a sour after taste. I took tiny bites, trying to figure out if it's their sauce, but it didn't make sense as to why it's sour and sweet. Eventually I tossed most of it away because it tasted odd. The other two items tasted just okay to me. Nothing to hype about especially for the price. I had better ones at local Korean market for cheaper and fresher. I did find it a bit unusual that the beef gimpap roll had been sitting on the counter by the cash register since morning and not under a heater or in the fridge. I might give it another try next time when they first open for a fresher and better experience.

I was in the area and decided to try this place with my friend. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love the decor and the vibes. The place is quiet and cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff was super friendly and helpful. My friend and I decided to share a Inari combo and a roasted beef roll with a soy milk. We didn't have a plastic knife, but the staff member was super nice and offered to cut everything in half for us. The roasted beef roll was delicious. It was warm, well flavored and reminded me of a sushi burrito. Love the purple rice. The Inari combo was not as delicious. We got an egg salad, seaweed salad, salmon with cream cheese and salmon with Jalapeño Inari. The toppings were deliciousbut the rice inside was hard, cold and fell apart. The rice didn't taste fresh and had been sotting there for awhile. I ate the Inari skin and toppings, but could not finish the rice. Overall, I would try this place again to try the individual Inari. They had a good variety. read more
A place dedicated to different types of inari? I'm in! First I've seen in Sac so if you want to try different types of inari, this is the place to go. Small little shop with limited seating but I was lucky enough to get a seat. More of a "To Go" place. I love salmon so I tried 3 different types of salmon inari and they were all delicious. I had a roasted duck onigri to go and although the flavor was as very good, the rice was too loosely packed and kept falling a party and making a mess. There was also a small piece of bone inside it that I accidentally bit. Also, no water is available for dine in customers. You have to purchase water. I've never been to a dine in my establishment in CA that didn't have a complementary cup of water available for customers. read more

If you're looking for a good snack after a walk around Land Park, you should definitely check out Rice Theory nearby. This spot landed on Sacramento's Top 50 restaurants list, and it's easy to see why. They're known for their flavorful selection of musubi, onigiri, inari A few friends and I decided to be adventurous and just picked whatever caught our eye from the display counter. I went with one of their limited items, the "Rice Theory" roll, which was wrapped in seaweed and filled with pork, sausage, purple rice, and vegetables. There was a sauce inside that really elevated the sausage and brought everything together. Super flavorful and surprisingly filling. The inaris were also a standout. I never had inari before, but this place does a great job showing how creative they can be. We tried a few different varieties, and the Mayo Wasabi Salmon inari was my favorite creamy with a nice kick. I honestly wished I had grabbed a second one. Service was friendly and helpful while we were deciding what to order, and my friends and I had a great time just hanging out and enjoying the food. Definitely a spot I'd recommend for a light breakfast or lunch if you're in the Land Park area. read more

Grabbed a few things for my crew before heading to a job site today. Cozy little shop with a good selection in the case and everything looked fresh. I picked up an assortment of musubi, onigiri, and tuna salad. Service was quick and the staff was friendly. It reminded me of the little carts in Hawaii with a similar setup. That said, the food was just okay for me... Good for a quick grab but the flavor didn't really stand out unfortunately. Parking is also pretty tight out front but that's no fault of the restaurant. read more
Came with my friend for lunch and we had a good time. We got the beef kimbap, unagi musubi, roasted duck onigiri, bbq pork onigiri, spicy salmon inari, and garlic tuna inari. I loveddddd the unagi musubi and garlic tuna inari. Those were my favorite things. Everything though was delicious. The girl working the front was also very nice and helpful. The store is cute and I'm happy they provide free sauces. The only downside was it was warm in there and had a couple flies. Also wish they had free water cups. This is my first time back since the official grand opening and it was long overdue! I've been seeing them sell out via Instagram so we made sure to come early. I loved seeing the selection all out in the cases, which made it a lot easier and more enticing to pick what we wanted, instead of reading the menu. We ended up ordering all inari, which range between $3-5 each. It was just enough for us to share as a light lunch, but if you're hungry I would order an extra few more! I had seen photos of kimbap, or I thought I did, so the cashier seemed confused when I asked about it. Then I realized later looking on Instagram, they call these rice rolls here! They have a few options but didn't see them out so I wonder if they're made to order. There are a few tables inside so you can enjoy your food right away. My favorite from the inari (also known as yubu) was the sukiyaki beef! So tender and flavorful. I also enjoyed the garlic ponzu salmon but wish I tried the one with lemon on top instead since we also got the garlic ahi. The yuzu pepper tuna was too overwhelmingly jalapeno to me so I couldn't taste as much of the tuna, but still good! The unagi was not something I'd normally order but I really enjoyed it surprisingly. The flavor and texture was nice. I didn't notice the sauces they have available at the side counter until we left, but will definitely be using that next time to add some additional flavor like more ponzu! But overall they were all already very moist and flavorful without adding anything. Really great option for a quick lunch bite and I love their packaging! read more

Decided to drop by with the wife for a snack. I've seen the reviews so we sort of had an idea what to expect. As others have said I felt the food was good and the soy bean drink was fresh. The price is a bit high if you're just looking to snack but it's understandable given the quality and presentation. Worth a try. read more

This is the only spot that serves inari and onigiri that I know of in the area, so they are super popular! It's pricy and they sell by the piece. I think it's a fun place to hit and try out the different pieces of rice concoctions. I do think they regularly sell out, so you definitely need to get there early to be able to get stuff. They do have tables, but not much room for them. I would say that it's mostly to go. I think my favorite was the musubi and the egg salad. The sauage one was also pretty good - They are all pretty tasty. I think the one that I would pass up next time is probably the cream cheese smoked salmon one, which is normally my favorite! I think maybe I prefer that on bread rather than rice. All in all, a good spot to hit if you're looking for something different. read more
Located in a strip mall on Freeport. This small place is decorated cute. It got busy while I was there so can get a little crowded. It was my first time and it seems like the menu changes often. You look in the case and see what they have. Point to what you want and then pay at the counter. The food is really good! I had a brown rice onigiri and a spice kurabota sausage which was very delicious! Overall good experience, small place and good food. read more

So happy I was able to grab some goodies at this spot a couple weeks ago! I came in a little before 3 PM and got the egg salad, spicy crab salad, and unagi inari and the BBQ pork onigiri. All the items were delicious and a solid choice! The onigiri did feel a little dry, but that might have been because it was at the end of the day and has been sitting for a bit? I'm a little sad I didn't get to try the spicy tuna, corn and cheese, and spicy salmon inari. I would definitely grab the unagi inari again in the future. Rice Theory is such a unique place! It's cute inside but they have limited seating and the shopping center's parking can be challenging due to all of the other stores and limited parking spaces. As for their food offerings, they have freshly made onigiri and miscellaneous proteins/toppings over rice or stuffed inside tofu "skin" like tuna, salmon, spam, crab, eel, sweet corn, and seaweed. Customer service is quick and friendly. I love that they offer gloves as the food can get a bit messy. But we loved everything we tried. read more
I'm glad I got to finally try this place in Freeport! Keep in mind the plaza is limited parking and there is limited seating inside as well. They decorated for Christmas so that was very cute. I was hoping to try a variety of flavors but keep in mind that they only make a certain number of things a day so if you want a large variety, you should go in the morning. We came early afternoon and there wasn't a lot of options left, which was disappointing. The salmon flavor we got was delicious! We also got the egg sandwich but I feel that was on the salty side for me. You can ask for plastic gloves to make it easier and cleaner to eat! It would be nice if they offered it to us but we saw someone else that was using it and asked them where they got it. Overall, if I'm in the area, I wouldn't mind coming back for this. read more
Visiting sac for the weekend and saw rice theory come up on several TikTok's, and the food looked tasty and affordable, so we gave it a shot! We didn't realize this is NOT a made-to-order place, so be aware of that! We got here at close to 3pm on a Saturday and they close at 4:30pm, so they were out of most items. A bit disappointing but the food that we did have was good. I ordered the spam musubi, the egg salad inari, and unagi inari. All were tasty. Can't go wrong with spam and/or rice as your main :) It's a cute little order-to-go place that I imagine is popular for breakfast/lunch. Small round tables are set up along the wall if you did want to sit down. For my fellow IBS/bathroom-problem folks: no public restrooms here! read more

Located on Freeport. I had already stopped at Mahoroba Bakery and Oto's and remembered this place was also nearby. If my memory serves me right, this might have been near if not the actual former location of J&J Bakery, where I used to get Asian Fruit Basket whipped cream cakes way back when. Parking is super tight in front and around the building, you may have to make a 100-point turn or U-turn in the neighborhood to get back onto Freeport. I came in on a weekday at lunchtime, and was able to snag one each of: -Smoked Salmon Cream Cheese Onigiri -Spam and Egg Musubi -Ahi Tuna Inari -Mango Mini Crepe Cake Everything was tasty! The mango mini crepe cake reminded me of the mango fluffy pillows from Serenity Desserts (Stockton Blvd). I would definitely go back to try more! read more

Since I don't know of anywhere specializing in just musubi/onigiri/inari in the area, this is a welcome addition to Sac! Is it overpriced for what it is? Most definitely. It's not too difficult to make the items they sell for myself, but it's fine for most people looking for a quick snack or bite to eat that's easy to take on the go. While it tasted good, at about $5 per item, it's not personally not going to be among my top places to eat. I can eat a large amount of rice and it would take a bit to fill me up (but I'm also not someone who is satisfied eating just a sushi roll for my meal). read more
Saw this spot trending on social media and had to see what the hype was about. I'm a fan of inari sushi so the idea to stuff more toppings onto it completes the piece of sushi for it to be an actual snack and meal. They also have onigiri and musubi. This shop is like a celebration of the best ways to use cooked rice! Sukiyaki inari: A Seaweed salad inari: B+ Spicy tuna inari: B+ Unagi inari: A Salmon onigiri: A- Chrysanthemum tea: C (not sweet, has flower pedals that are awkward to drink) The sukiyaki and unagi were my favorites. All of them delicious though. The onigiri is well made and compact. Definitely worth a visit! read more
In a nutshell; good selection of rice wrapped treats that isn't sushi. Isn't located in the best place as parking may be tricky or limited at times especially if businesses close to it may get busy. It's also more of a takeout spot, there are a table or two inside with just a pair of chairs so if you're lucky and I wouldn't count on relying to eat inside. Now the musubis , inaris and onigiris are all a delight and if I'm ever in the area I wouldn't mind trodding over to grab a musubi or two. Employees were all great and kind enough to answer any inquries. Overall really good stuff and looking forward to them to grow. read more

I came here on a weekday and chose some cold and warm inari. They all look too delicious. My husband and I were satisfied with all their inari, and although we kept some for the second day, they're still good to eat. Their inari are flavorful and not overloaded with rice. Their tofu skin is thin but holds everything well when you bite. Definitely worth to get to go. The plaza here can be tough to find parking sometimes. read more
I came around 2:30 and there were lots of options to choose from. I went with the yuzu pepper salmon onigiri, garlic ponzu fresh salmon onigiri, spicy crab salad onigiri and ungai & egg masubi. The masubi had way too much rice and a paper thin layer of egg. I enjoyed the garlic ponzu the most. I would've ordered more, but I thought it was kind of pricy. read more
I'm a big fan of Inari and Cifantuan 糍飯糰 (Stuffed sticky rice roll). When I heard Rice Theory served these items, I made time to visit on Sunday morning as soon as they were opened to pick up these yummy snacks. It's a small shop located on Freeport Blvd., across from Oto's Marketplace. I think they have two small tables inside for now. Most customers do take-out. They're currently open from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm (or until sold out) on Wednesday to Sunday according to their IG page. Salmon Inari is probably my favorite. It's lemony with a hint of spicy. I can eat several of these if we are not counting calories. LOL! Unagi Inari comes second. It's kind of a staple for Japanese cooked fish. Ahi Tuna Inari was a bit too salty for me. It could be from the seaweed but still good! I would skip the Egg Salad Inari, but it's your jam - go for it. Good fish and rice ratio! The Kurobuta Sausage sticky rice roll was so good! I can picture myself picking up a bunch of these for a hike or picnic. It's a no mess and well-stored snack/carb! They also have herbal teas with many health benefits. Be warned that they're not sweeten with bitter taste, but that's how they are supposed to be. I'm already planning my next visit and what I'll be ordering. I am thrilled to have this little gem in Sacramento and not have to travel to the Bay Area or LA. read more

We absolutely loved this place! There were no other customers there when we arrived (around 2:30pm on a Friday). The nice employee explained how to order (as it was our first time). Although we were there around 2:30, there were still so many food options to choose from. As we sat and ate, customer after customer poured in and took most items to-go. We got the egg/spam musubi, shrimp tempura hand roll, the spicy tuna inari, unagi inari, fresh salmon inari and the spicy crab inari. We also got a soy milk, chrysanthemum tea and the mango dessert cup. Everything was so delicious! I shared all of this with my sister and we're were very full by the end lol Our faves were the unagi, fresh salmon, mango cup and chrysanthemum tea. All the pieces were a great size, full of flavor and easily sharable (we were able to cut the inari pieces in half). There was some seating available with cute, minimalist decor that I very much liked! Will definitely come again, great spot for lunch and as a grab-n-go option! PS - they also a a stamp card, one stamp for every $15 spent. read more

First time visiting Rice Theory. I arrived just before 11a on a Saturday. The shop is located kitty corner to Oto's and next to Hong Kong Wok in the strip mall. It is such a cute little shop with counter service and a few little tables along the sides. When I walked in all the tables were occupied and maybe 5 people in line. The display was a little sparse. I'm not sure how often they replenish their supply. This morning there were 2 types of misubi (spam with and without egg), 2 types of mini rolls (kutobura pork and beef sukiyaki, inari (spicy salmon, spicy ahi tuna, tuna salad and egg salad) and onigiri (roast pork, spam and bacon and salmon w/ cream cheese) Customer service was very pleasant quick. One person pulled the items from the display, onigiri was self picked from off the counter, and the cashier packed the food to go. She also threw in a pair of gloves and a wet wipe. Quick and easy! I chose spicy salmon, spicy ahi and (the last) egg salad unari, spam/bacon and salmon onigiri. The unari are generously filled with a bit of seasoned rice at the bottom. The onigiri is well packaged and also made with seasoned rice. Everything tasted deliciously! So far I've tried the spicy salmon inari and salmon onigiri and am so satisfied! They also had a choice of various teas to select from so I'll have to try it in the future. I highly recommend this cute snack eatery. You won't be disappointed. I'll be back soon read more

Down to the rice, you can tell there is love and flavor in each grain! Miso salmon Inari (7/5) Spicy salmon Inari (5/5) - I like to eat it with the lemon slice, give it a try! Abalone truffle Onigiri (5/5) - also close to a Zongzi in flavor, but more mushroom-y Duck Onigiri (4/5) - very similar profile to Chinese Zongzi Garlic Ponzu salmon Inari (4/5) Unagi Musubi (4/5) - like having an unagi bento in your palm! Tako salad Inari (4/5) - definitely refreshing after so much umami Egg salad Inari (3/5) - good, but probably would save the room for something else next time! After seeing posts and stories on ig, I was eager to try Rice Theory. I saw that there were lines over the weekend and items were selling out quickly. I came on a Friday morning hoping that I would have the most selection. It looks like the menu changes here and there and we only had three options for inari and musubi. They also didn't have onigiri which was what I was looking forward to the most. It looks like they don't have the onigiri until later in the day since it is made at a different location. We got the unagi, salmon, and tuna inari, 2 spam and egg musubi, and a chrysanthemum tea. I've always loved inari growing up and haven't had it in a while, so it was nostalgic for me. All three were flavorful, but I don't think it was anything special or a must try. The spam and egg musubi was surprising to us as there was two slices of spam. One on each side! It was actually really filling and thick! There was a subtle sauce in there that added flavor. The chrysanthemum tea was also really nostalgic as I used to have it all the time as a kid. I thought it was refreshing and sweet. Overall, the place is really cute and simple. I love the logo as it is super cute! The food is good, but I don't think it's anything special. If anything I would come try the musubi though! I would love to be able to try the onigiri some time. read more

Excited to hear that rice ball place opened at Sacramento, so we came to give it a try. It is Saturday around 2pm and it has very limited selection so we only got a spam musubi and a salmon inari, a a detox drink. Overall love the concept but I think it's overprice specially it's a 2 bite size (one bite for a guy), most of the items are about $4-$4.95. My salmon inari was $4.95. It was sweet and saucy, about a spoon of salmon. The detox drink was good, unsweetened tea. The service was good, the server waited for us to pick what we want and answered us our question. The place is located next to new hk restaurant , at first I didn't see it cuz the sign is pretty small and simple. Outside didn't look that good but inside is much cuter. With these prices, I probably rather just go to a sushi place or just pick it up for times when u don't wan to make it yourself. read more
First I tried the Sukiyaki Beef Mini Roll, it was decent, the flavor wasn't really popping, I ended up putting some teriyaki sauce on it. Next I had the Duck Onigiri, I could not taste the duck at all, I wasn't even sure it was the Duck Onigiri until I ate the Spicy Crabstick Onigiri where i could definitely taste the Crab. For me, I think the Onigiri was just too much rice. The shop was very clean and nice, and the young lady working was very friendly. I saved the Spam Musubi for the next day when I consumed it between games of a doubleheader. It was perfect for that purpose. read more

The food has great quality and the people are nice. Definitely more of a togo spot so you pick your food, pay first, and serve yourself. For the inari I got the spicy salmon, garlic ponzu tuna, and spicy tuna. The salmon was SOOO good I actually went back to get more and also tried the unagi musubi. Both tuna flavors were really good on the initial bite BUT then both had seaweed salad in between the rice and the tuna on top. I don't mind seaweed salad but it usually has a strong flavor and once I tasted that I could no longer enjoy the flavor of the fish. So in this application I don't think it works well. Even my partner who LOVES seaweed salad agreed. The unagi musubi was decent but would not be my go to. Unagi is already soft so having it wrapped up in saran wrap made it softer and messier to eat. I'll definitely come back to grab a bunch of the spicy salmon and I really want to try some of their drinks. read more
