    Gah!
    Marie M.

We were fans of this Asian kitchen but the last couple of times, it has been a total miss! Today, I wanted to change things up and try some rolls. Gah! They were the worst I've ever had! The chicken was dry and as hard as a beef jerky stick, the brown rice was awful, and the Nori was chewy--so I knew it wasn't fresh. The only part I enjoyed was the ginger strips, wasabi and eel sauce--now that's sad! In addition, my daughter couldn't finish her orange chicken because some of the pieces were also hard, and, the spring rolls appeared to have been refrigerated and re-heated but the temperature of the food wasn't hot. I picked up on time so it wasn't as though our food was being driven around town. Why the two stars? One for good service and one for the prompt turnaround, but I'm so disappointed.

I ordered take-out from RiceUp through the Yelp app, delivered by Door Dash. I ordered a Rainbow Roll and I forget the name of the other roll I ordered but it strangely came with a side of teriyaki chicken (didn't note on the menu) which I thought was a nice addition but odd. I don't like ordering warm food with my sushi because the warmth from the hot food always makes the sushi warm. I would say the sushi was slightly above average, however, a bit disheveled when finally delivered to me as the delivery driver had a very hard time finding my location. I made sure to put specific directions on where my office was located in the plaza and the driver took over an hour to deliver my food. I almost called them to see what the status was since the app wasn't updating on the location. They ended up calling me and I spent 15 minutes on the phone with the girl from the restaurant who was trying to explain to the driver where I was located. I could see him driving around the plaza and tried my best to waive him down. They're not far from where I am so I'm willing to try them out again, but next time I'll just go pick up from their location.

My lunch with a side of not my hair in it

I've ordered here often since they've opened, but not only are their prices rising, yet their quality and serving sizes have fallen short along with the lack of protein in their said protein items. My most recent experience that led me to post as it was the final straw of unacceptable serving quality is finding hair in my food. Do better RiceUp, I would like to not have to drive outside Weston to find a suitable Asian take-out restaurant as all the others in the areas have either closed or failed to meet our expectations.

Basic AF I'll be the first to admit it's a crap shoot ordering from a place with no menu descriptions. Guess I was hoping for some veggies in this. Rice and tofu - sigh. Came with a couple sauces, one napkin, a fork and a spoon - I prefer to eat with chopsticks! Thanks for the fortune cookie tho!!

Yesterday we ordered food from Rice up for dinner. Unfortunately I found an live insect in the rice. It happened so fast that I didn't have time to take a picture. I ended throwing away all the food. Long history short we just waste $53

I was with my 13 year old and his friend looking for a bite after a movie. I should have looked closer at the Yelp reviews! First, this restaurant is really just for takeout. Not that we needed a fancy place, but I think we wanted someplace that was ready to accommodate eat in diners. When we walked in to the small place we found two large round tables with white tablecloths but no set ups. When I asked if we could eat there I was told, yes, but in takeout containers. I then asked if I should order at the counter or at the table to which the woman replied, "Which ever you want". I just got the impression that the staff was ambivalent about having us there. The second big mistake I made was ordering sushi in a hole in the wall like this. The Spicy Tuna Roll had a lot of rice but was not too bad. However, I really could not eat the Hamachi Roll. The fish was all discolored. It just looked terrible. My son's friend ordered Steak Teriyaki and my son ordered Chicken Teriyaki. They were huge portions. However, the little plastic knives we were given could not cut through the meat. The sauces on the side was sickeningly sweet. Their dishes went mostly uneaten. The best item we all ate was the Salad that had cold and crispy lettuce with ginger dressing on the side. It would not have been an expensive meal had we eaten it, but we really did not eat much of what we ordered and I hate waste! Lesson learned. Consult Yelp thoroughly!

They definitely have an impressively large selection of sushi rolls and they were good. However, and maybe I am just spoiled because the sushi in Orlando is delicious, I found that many of their rolls were pricy for what they were. I will say if you want a good raw fish sushi roll, the Cilantro roll is very good. While I liked the fish on top of the Hocho Motto roll, I did not care for the contents of the roll itself as much. I did get to try one of their tuna appetizer which were delicious, so I definitely recommend their tuna. I hope to explore the menu and order something else next time I am down. The barometer for us indicating that this might be a legit decent Korean restaurant was the amount of Asian diners in the restaurant and there were an overwhelming majority of them at the time we went in. So we knew it was going to be a good meal. We got our drink orders in and for entrees went with the Army Stew (Budae Jigae), bulgogi, and the Seafood tofu soup. The army stew was considered 2 portions- it was huge but my friend was able to finish it himself. He said it was delicious and lived up to his expectations after having had the army stew in Seoul and have been looking for a place that offered back home. Though not quite as good as in Seoul but very decent for SoFlo. Next up was the seafood tofu soup. The flavor was on point- soft tofu that melts in your mouth along with clams, squid, shrimp and an egg topper. I will say, they were rather skimpy on the shrimp (only 1 in the pot) and a couple clams and squid but it was delicious nonetheless. The bulgogi was seasoned well and they included a number of banchan which all tasted fresh. I asked for lettuce to wrap my bulgogi with as that's common in South Korea but here it is a $4 upcharge for lettuce. The food did hit the spot so we were all satisfied with the quality of the food and will likely return.

He told me my only option at the time of my reservation was to sit outside in the heat and humidity. He was also rude and dismissive. There are better places to go. Additionally based on owner (Daniel) reply: I assure you the words "5-10 minutes" never were spoken by your host. But I appreciate the attempt to make me look unreasonable. The host's implication was there was a wait and he couldn't be sure how long. And his body language was pretty dismissive. Your portrayal is inaccurate. In addition, your reservation system offers no option of indoor vs outdoor seating. 99% of your patrons were eating inside because it was drizzling, hot, and humid. If you had offered outside only at the time I made the reservation I would not have made the reservation. Maybe look into adding that option instead of surprising guests. Folks, try Kaeru Sushi & Grill in West Pines. They are a fantastic sushi spot and always respect reservations.

Everything arrived within 40 min, still hot. I ordered a ramen broth, an order of tempura shrimp along with the spicy yaki udon. The udon was not spicy at all, but very delicious. Not sure why it's referred to as "spicy", there was not a single sight of red or green chilies. I would have loved for it to have a kick of spice, but nevertheless, still delicious. The appetizer shrimp a fail, they did feel a bit chewy/ rubbery, and dry. This was not my favorite. The hot ramen broth was soothing and on a cool day like today, well worth it. I wish that my order had arrived with chopsticks, or some type of utensils. None were provided, not even napkins. And I was a little disappointed that no sauces were provided, not even for the noodles. Often times some oriental places will provide siracha or some type of chill sauce. Perhaps this places does not offer those condiments? I wish that I could have given this a 4, even 5 star, but ordering from a food service one would hope the meal arrived with at least chopsticks, or some napkins.
