So my best friend and I have quickly fallen in love with Richard's Pub. They have great food and even better drinks. If you order a martini, it comes full to the rim, with the rocks on the side (with basically another drink in there) with a side (a small carafe) full as well. It's like 3 martinis in one! NO JOKE! The bar area is always full of locals. Everyone is so nice and it's definitely a place where the community gathers. It is not out of the ordinary for someone to buy a round of drinks for the people around them. From young to old, everyone loves Richard's Pub. I will say, that they also have some of the BEST CHICKEN WINGS I have ever had. The crispy wings with the Red Hot sauce on the side is the way to go. Get them! What a treat!! I had the haddock.....perfectly baked. Hubby John had a fabulous chicken with gravy and mushrooms. Both dishes had winter squash with root and oven roasted parsley potatoes.....all delicious! We started our meal with a pina colada, a well prepared drink that just seemed like a fresh, fruity, start to the meal. Our waitress was Kristen. What a pro!! She moves around the room with efficiency and intelligence. It was a pleasure to have such a consummate server. We've driven by this restaurant many times, but this was our first meal. Had the Buttery Flacky Haddock with Asparagus and Prosciutto covered in cheddar cheese. Fellow guest had the chicken version. The chicken was Ritcher in flavor but the fish may have dulled it a little. The fish was firm and tasted with the asparagus a little tuff but good. Overall it was a satisfying meal read more

Today I ordered the Salmon Balsamic which was on the Sunday Specials menu. This was my first time eating here. I order salmon a lot when I eat out and this was the worst I've ever had. I actually had to use a knife to cut it. It was so overcooked and dry. Service wasn't the greatest. Servers seem preoccupied and don't really listen to your requests. Asked for separate checks and server brought one check. Asked for water for the two of us. Brought one. Our food wasn't delivered by our waiter and was going to be given to the wrong table. Simple but annoying stuff. Atmosphere was okay but very noisy. Difficult to have a quiet enjoyable meal. I wouldn't go back. read more

My "filet mignon" had a large vein of fibrous tissue; that ruined my entire appetite. I order a filet so there will not be any gristle. It was also an extremely small piece for the price. (I had a much better piece just last week elsewhere!) My fiancé did not receive the mashed or vegetable medley we ordered, he was given a small salad instead, with his veal franchise. My business partner's filet mignon was cooked incorrectly; she requested medium rare and was given medium. Three of the four meals were very unsatisfactory and the manager has stated they will issue a credit for the two requested meals. read more

I had a wonder experience at Richard's Pub.........We had my stepdaughter's baby shower there yesterday and it was absolutely amazing. Kristen, our waitress, right from the start was so accommodating and attentive, whatever we needed, she did not hesitate, she had everything under control and I didn't have to worry or want for anything. The place was set up beautifully and so clean. We had ordered the Brunch Buffett and from the scrambled eggs to the baked cod newberg, the food was incredible. I've never been to a shower where everybody loved all the food. I can't say enough about our experience there. I would, without a doubt, highly recommend people to have there functions at Richard's Pub. Have lived in East Greenwich for four years now and we're always looking for a good spot. Anyhow, this place was recommended so we went for the first time last week. Honestly, it's a decent spot for an inexpensive dinner out. The food tastes like everything is either frozen out of the box or fresh from a can. The place itself is old and rundown, I guess their motto is "if it's not broken why fix it". Service was quick and friendly, hostess was a little rude and unwelcoming but what can you expect from a rundown, frozen food serving local watering hole. We were looking for a place with great burgers and my friend suggested Richards. It's a pretty big place so plenty of room for distancing. Masks were being worn and I saw a lot of cleaning going on. We felt perfectly safe being there. Our waitress was a doll and did a great job making sure our drinks were always full and we were happy. The menu is huge so there is something for everyone. The hot popcorn that arrived right after we sat was salty goodness and a nice snack while drinking our beers. Ask for the pickles because they are yummy. I got a burger and it was cooked perfectly. I recently had lunch at this Pub and was totally disappointed with my selection. Usually the Corned Beef Reuben is a good selection and my favorite sandwich but not on May 10, 2024. I believe the size of bread was smaller than usual and not grilled well. As a result, my meat soaked into the bread not allowing me to pick it up and eat it!! It totally fell apart and very messy! The fries that came with it were minimal along with a very thin pickle for $15.99. Who was on the grill that day? The iced tea was diluted. The worse part of this visit was bringing a friend who came from Middletown and it was her first time there. Totally Disappointed!! read more

Great Drinks, Service Issues This old school restaurant is doing some things right and others not so much. Pros: Old school drinks - martinis with side cars Family Business Food - nothing fancy but quality dishes Prices Cons: Service, we go in and wait ten minutes to be asked if we want a drink. Never get a menu have to eventually ask the bartender for one. Finally get our drinks and while waiting for the food, finish them, and never get asked if want another one. They also have popcorn at the bar and every customer is brought a basket except my wife and I. Our food comes and it gets dropped in front of us and we are still not offered another drink. After 5 minutes of eating I have to ask the guy for another drink. Awful Overall: Good food and good drinks, but not good enough to look past the terrible service. A frequent go to for us, but this night was particularly delicious. I went wanting a turkey club. A reliable and tasty choice always. However, this night they had a special: Turkey Cuban OUTSTANDING! Thinly sliced turkey and honey ham, topped with their house-made bread and butter pickles, yellow mustard, dill Havarti cheese and thin pressed on a grilled torpedo roll. Their chicken nachos is my go-to as crazy as that seems from their menu of Italian favorites. But they're super generous with all the toppings and a half order is just as big as a full order! I have been coming here for 25 years and it is ALWAYS consistently good. The decor may be a little dated but I do not come here for the ambience, I come here for the food and the people. The staff are friendly, even when the place is cranking which is almost all the time! Expect to wait on a Friday or Saturday night, but it's worth it. The swordfish is better than most fine restaurants that I have been to that cost way more than here! The prime rib is HUGE and amazing! They even take reservations for the prime rib on Saturday nights! If you enjoy a good stiff drink at the end of the day, you will NOT find a better one than here! No bs! Some of the amazing staff include Kristen, who waitresses for any parties I schedule here, Steve, Pat, Joanne, Hannah, Sharon, Jeremy, Gail, Jess, and i cannot leave out Tammy! We ate out, for the first time, since the pandemic began, here, at Richard's yesterday. The tables were spaced very far apart, under an outdoor canopy, and it felt very safe. All the servers and waitstaff were extremely pleasant and friendly and efficient. They followed all the rules the governor has laid out. It was a very pleasant experience. What. The. F*ck. So all the locals rave about this place. So it's now my assumption that these people either suck at cooking or don't go out to eat much. Our waitress was a train wreck. She didn't offer us water or bread,and forgot to ask what salad dressing I wanted. Which normally I don't care about, but when she came back to ask what I wanted for dressing she came back not two minutes later with the wrong dressing. ( I requested Italian, and I ended up with peppercorn. ) I'm also not 100% sure if they offer water and bread, but I did notice 90% of the other tables had water/bread. The food was TERRIBLE. We ordered the Steamed Little necks for our appetizer. They came out chewy, and sandy. There was also some clam meats missing. The salad was pathetic. Two black olives, two pieces of red onion, one cherry tomato on a bed of iceberg lettuce wity crappy salad dressing that they probably bought at restaurant depot. I ordered the Veal Francaise . My veal was chewy and I had to saw at it with my steak knife, but it wasn't nearly as bad as my the dish my poor fiance ended up with. He ordered the marinated and glazed pork chop special with fries. Sounds pretty simple right? His pork chop was so overdone we could have brought it to an ice skating rank and played hockey with it. The chops were so hard I couldn't even stab it with a knife. This was the first time I've ever seen him send something back ( and quiet frankly I'm surprised he didn't send it back faster, it was horrible. ) The manager did take the pork chop off the meal and gave us a $10 gift card. Which is nice, but my fiance said he'd rather put it on his bicycle spokes with a cloth pin so that it could make funny souds. .. we almost gave the card to another table, but I figured I'd use it for a burger or sandwich one day. I haven't been here for a few years, it used to be one of my favorite places. So yesterday my husband and I went there. I ordered French onion soup and clams casino The cheese on the soup was barely melted and not browned at all, they put so much paprika on top it clumped up. And there were 3 very small salad croutons in it not the big crouton usually put in French onion soup. Then onto clams casino, I think they took the clam meat out and filled with cracker crumbs and bacon. The waiter was so inattentive to us, but really liked the young hostess working that night because all he did was flirt with her the whole time we were there. In our quest to stay off the beaten path and far away from the crowds of tourists, my husband and I took the recommendation of some locals and had a Saturday dinner at RIchard's Pub. We'll definitely be be back at this restaurant. I ordered the Baked Scrod Asparagia, and the scrod flaked to the fork, which means that the fish is very fresh. That dish contained a cheddar cheese, asparagus, and prosciutto. I had mashed potatoes and penne Alfredo for my side dishes. The penne Alfredo was cooked al dente, and the Alfredo sauce was house-made and quite good. That dish with the ample sides, was only $17.95. My husband had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich. The pulled pork was tender and well seasoned. The sides he chose were French fries and onion rings, and the onion rings were large, lightly fried, and tasty. He also had the French onion soup which was chocked full of cheese. The broth was not overly salted, like it is at so many other restaurants. Service was attentive here as well. The bill was not outrageous, and the food was fresh and well prepared. Sometimes, especially during tourist season, it's best to ask the locals where they go. The food was amazing! You need to go on a Friday or Saturday and try the lobster bisque! Never had a bad meal at the spot, my ONLY complaint, the women's restroom. Cramped does not begin to describe the stalls. You cannot close the stall door without straddling the commode or trying to wedge between the door and toilet paper dispenser. Simple fix , have the door swing outward! I heard two women talking about it while I was in the stall...whew glad to know it's NOT me. So maybe that easy fix could be made? read more

This place is so much fun. Sit at the bar (run by excellent bar tenders who totally control the seating at the bar). The espresso martini is delicious and comes with the sidecar which it makes it really two martinis. The food is good, the people are friendly and it's a lot of fun. read more

First time dining in here and I'm glad we did! We ordered fried and broiled scallop dinners and they were very well cooked and absolutely delicious. The one downfall was that our meals came out at different times which was annoying. We will definitely stop by again next time we're in Rhode Island. read more

I've been coming here since I was as child- probably for about 25 years or so now. Over that time I've had just about everything on the menu and everything is always good. One of my favorites has always been the Reuben - it was the first thing I ever had here and I when I can't decide I always go back to that. They always offer various specials too which are always good. The bartenders are always friendly and they have great martinis and manhattans. The only drawback is that the bar is always jam packed so sometimes you have to wait a little bit to get a seat at the bar. Definitely a place worth checking out ! read more

I have nothing but good things to say about our first experience here! The menu has so many great options. Prices are reasonable. It was super clean (a must right now!). We have a tendency to eat dinner late, which is kind of the norm in NYC. However, it always to comes back to bite us in the butt whenever we travel. "What?! Places close at 9 pm?! Serving dinner??" Inevitably, whatever plans we had to sample local fare and dine at the area's finest turns into "What the heck is still open around here?" (hint: diners and pizza joints) Thankfully, Richard's Pub was our savior that night. A real restaurant and pub, serving real food! It wasn't busy, but there was a sizable crowd at the bar. The server took a while to get to us, but she was all smiles and very friendly. I ordered a lemon drop martini (I know, in a pub). The server brings me my drink in a sugar crusted martini glass...then she sets down another glass filled with ice and more martini....and then ANOTHER little quartino of MORE martini...holy crap, did I just get three drinks?? Awesome! We ordered the stuffed quahog (mainly because of its name), baked clams casino, and baked stuffed filet of flounder. Apparently tonight's theme was baked and stuffed. The server was really nice and when she found out we were sharing everything, she brought us each a salad instead of the one that came with the entree! The stuffed quahog, or stuffie, is a large clam about the size of a fist, that is chopped and mixed in a bread stuffing and baked in its shell. You're given hot sauce to eat with it. Yum! Clams casino was baked clams (not chopped) topped with breadcrumbs and bacon. Bacon soaked breadcrumbs is a totally addicting combination. Our baked flounder was stuffed with crabmeat and vegetables and turned out to be very rich but very tasty. We were feeling a little breadcrumbed out by then, but we enjoyed our meal.
