Not sure what spices they added and i should have asked beforehand. Also they advertised the FIFA World cup games but do not specify that you can just view it not actually hear the sound which was a bummer since other places do specify they have sound. In hindsight we should have asked before we went and we missed the half of the game trying to get home but what can you do. I personally wouldn't go back because of the burgers(its all I can eat these days when going out) but it was packed so people do enjoy and love it. The ambiance itself and service itself were really the best part.

The area has a heavy Spanish speaking influence, so I was greeted with Spanish every time. I'm brushing up on my Spanish (Duolingo warrior here), so I didn't mind. Everyone speaks perfect English too, and I was treated just as well as the Spanish speakers I ate with. I elected to eat the Tres Golpes. It was hearty and full of flavor. The beers are cheap, the drinks are reasonably priced, and the vibe is really fun and paid back. My only complaint is it's far away from me, it else is go there for all major sporting events.

Let me tell you something right now--this is some of the BEST Dominican fried chicken I have ever…read morehad. And I don't say that lightly. For the longest time, I used to wonder why Equis Pica Pollo was always so crowded. And I mean ALWAYS. From open to close. People double-parking, triple-parking, hopping out of Ubers and Lyfts just to grab chicken. Me and my mom used to look at each other like, what is the hype?? You smell the food before you even see the place--the seasoning be calling you--but still, I took forever to actually go try it. Mind you, it's in the Bronx, and when I'm up there I'm always like "let me venture," but somehow I kept skipping it. Until one day my mom went and brought some home and said, "You HAVE to try this chicken. I see why people are addicted." Baby... she was NOT lying. This chicken is so crispy, so juicy, my mouth is literally watering just thinking about it. The seasoning is not just on the skin--it's in the MEAT. That's how you know it's done right. It's always fresh, always crunchy, golden brown, tender, and the pieces are a GOOD size. I usually get the four-piece, and honestly? That's a two-day meal. It comes with tostones or fries, but let's be real--the Spanish in me says tostones, always. And these tostones are fried perfectly. Not too hard, not soggy, not overdone--just right. And here's the real test: when you put the chicken in the fridge and reheat it in the oven the next day? It comes back crispy like it just came out fresh. That alone deserves an award. Now you already know I'm dressing my plate the old-school way--hot sauce, ketchup, salt on the tostones, squeeze of lime or lemon. That's how I do it. They also have chofan (Dominican fried rice), and that thing is loaded with EVERYTHING. All the fixings. I tried it and it was delicious too. No complaints. Ever. I am officially one of those people now. Standing in line. Waiting for the fresh batch to come out. I don't care. This chicken is worth it. If you haven't tried Equis Pica pollo yet, GO. If you think you know fried chicken, go test your theory here. And then come back and tell me what you thought--because when you know fried chicken, you KNOW fried chicken... and this one? This one is IT.
