A few weeks ago I went to Rich's to purchase a car because the first one I bought there was having too many issues to keep fixing it. I test drove a few cars that were ok but I found a Camry in good condition. The only thing wrong was it seemed the serpentine belt was making noise. So I asked about it. The mechanic could not give a straight answer. I figured maybe a simple fix so bought it anyway. Did not finance, just paid for the car. Took it to my mechanic, found out it's the timing belt, which he could tell just by listening to it. So I feel like Rich's wasn't honest about it. $945 later. Then my mechanic tells me, you should really get new tires,which I figured I'd need to do but he said these are DANGEROUS to drive on. You're going to have a blow out! When I got new tires, the alignment was so off it was rubbing the front tires on 2 different sides. $622 later. Then I got an oil change since according to the sticker it was 2,000 miles past the sticker due for one. Sludge in the tank, had a special cleaner run through it. $92. Bringing my total to $1,659 I had to put into this car to make it run correctly and be safe to drive. Needless to say, now that all my savings are wiped out, I'm NEVER buying a car there or recommending Rich's ever again. If the car needed that much work, then I feel I overpayed $5250 with a credit for taking my old car. read more

I went in today with the intent of purchasing a car. I mentioned to the associate three advertised vehicles by make and mileage (so it should have been apparent that I had done my homework before coming). I have always purchased my own used cars, alone (and being a woman) and have never had any problem with the negotiating process. I was told that the price listed was 'no haggle.' I inquired about discussing a ballpark for my trade-in and was told that I would have to commit to purchasing a car, at the no haggle price naturally, before we could talk about the value of my trade in. Okey dokey dude. I guess they forgot that the advertised price was $1000 under the sticker price ...so I guess they do have some wiggle room. I was told *that* one was a weekend special. (Psst, the one listed 10 days previous was also $500 lower in the ad vs on the vehicle...so I guess they do know the ways of the haggle). Believe it or not, there were actually more issues with the sales associate I interacted with but you get the gist... I called back to request to work with another associate but the car I was primarily interested in had already sold. I actually found my car on the internet - it was my dream car, and I knew what to look for. The car test drove perfectly, and everything was in great shape. Our salesperson was congenial, but really didn't have much of a sense of humor. We were fortunate in having a great car as a trade-in, but I think their customer service skills leave something to be desired. We probably would never have shopped here if they didn't have the exact car I was looking for. I love my car, and the deal was good, but I still left with a funky taste in my mouth after buying from these guys. Dealt with Jim a couple times and he's a good dude, but you have to really research the cars you're interested in. Some havent been serviced in years, however, they provide you free carfax on most cars so look them over. After test driving a few cars, tried to negotiate on a Mazda. Ad said it had power door locks, but when I tested it, they werent working. Also, tire treads were really cracked and rubbed, but they refused to come off the price anymore. Didnt get a deal done here but it wasnt a terrible experience. read more

Warning to all potential Rich's Car Corner customers - Get a carfax for the car you are interested in before buying. They often get vehicles from auctions (as All used dealerships do) and their cars often have been involved in accidents, or are from clear across the country, as well as seriously marked up in price compared to what they bought at - information which they do not disclose to potential buyers. Do your due diligence and get a pre-purchase inspection done. Rich's will not tell you anything is wrong with the car and you will likely be saddled with thousands in repairs in the coming months after buying as they simply patch things to make everything look ok when it isn't. Avoid buying a car from Rich's. I recently purchased a work van from them, and less than a week after driving the vehicle I began to have problems. I discovered the rear brake lights did not work, and the engine began running rough. Over a month and a half passed with the van being in the shop more than on the road with problems continually popping up. My mechanic finally diagnosed the problem as a leaking head gasket that needed to be replaced. I spoke with Ron who sold me the van asking that they share in the cost of repair since it was existing from the start and they likely knew there was a major issue. (The computer codes had been cleared and the engine compartment was detailed) The head leak did not present itself until the engine had warmed for an hour or more. When I talked to Ron he was stand-offish from the start and though I asked many times, Rich refused to even talk on the phone with me. Bottom line, at best they don't check the vehicles before sale and at worst they hide known issues, and sell the vehicles anyway. When I presented them with a reasonable solution to resolve the issue and preserve their reputation, they basically told me to screw off and that they would welcome going to court to avoid doing what was honorable. I went to this car dealership and when walking in the door was hardly greeted and not asked what I was looking for. I was told to just go "look around." When I told the salesmen which cars I was interested in he barely looked up to talk to me about them and just mumbled and said "oh yeah that car is somewhere over there." I spent about 10 minutes weaving in and out of a maze of cars trying to find the car I was looking for. When I finally found one of them I get in the car and it reeks of smoke. The second one that they brought out for me was a car that I was interested in and was told I could test drive it. When I did that the engine light was on the whole time. When I get back I tell the guy working there about it and all he said was "yeah we will see if we can fix that" I didn't know what he meant by that and he didn't explain. Okay now the third car was the best one yet! We get to the car and the car won't even start! And the car was out of gas so the guy keeps the car on while putting more gas in! I asked if that was dangerous and he shrugs and said "yeah probably." At this point I wanted to just get out of there. I was appalled at the lack of costumer service this place had. They are a car dealership, you would think they would try to sell cars?? Our salesman could not have cared less about me or his job. So please go to Rich's car corner if you don't want anyone to care what you are looking for, want to sit in smelly smoke stained cars, drive cars that are warning you they are about to fall apart or won't even start for you. I bought a van here almost a month ago. Pros: the sales guy, Glen, was hands-off, giving me plenty of time to check over a vehicle. He was also fine with me borrowing the vehicle for a couple of hours to get an independent mechanic's inspection. The van was an OK deal, a 2007 Toyota Sienna with 84K miles for $8.5K, but it needed $3000 in repairs. Cons: There were fake fees for registration/title transfer, despite it being paid for elsewhere. I was also pressured to sign an arbitration agreement "or else we can't transfer the title to you", ...after I had paid for it. I think it's possible to find a decent vehicle here, but watch yourself. The vehicles may need a lot of work, and be prepared for all sorts of BS when making the purchase itself. Have your financing lined up beforehand and know your rights *exactly*. read more

The Short: Do not buy a vehicle from Rich's Car Corner. If you decide you'd like to anyway, do yourself a favor and get it inspected prior to purchase. I did not do this and regret it immensely now. Bought a 2006 BMW 330xi from them, and the issues that plagued this vehicle were numerous yet absolutely withheld from my knowledge. Told by a trustworthy mechanic that the cost to fix the major issues is probably worth more than the car is, and here I am still paying off the bulk of the loan for the car itself. You know that old sentiment regarding used car salesmen? It is absolutely proven with this company and how they treated me. All that matters is the bottom line to them. The Long: Back in January, I went in to look at this 2006 BMW 330xi. I was greeted by Ron, a salesman there. After some discussions, and me asking if there were any major issues or repairs, to which he said there were none to his knowledge, he let me have the vehicle to test drive for the day. My first mistake was to not immediately take this car to a mechanic and get a new purchase inspection done on it, but I'm not a "car guy". Immediately, I noticed the Check Engine light on. The car still ran fine, though. My second mistake was that, when I noticed that there was duct-tape residue across the window switches on driver's door, I made the assumption that if Rich's Car Corner took the tape off, they must've fixed whatever issue was wrong with the window. It was January, and it was cold, and I unfortunately didn't even think to test the windows. I got back to the shop and told Ron that the vehicle handled well, it was comfortable, but the Check Engine light was on. He said "Oh yea, we'll take care of that for you." So I follow through with the purchase, get a loan for the vehicle through a local bank, complete the deal. I get the vehicle a couple days later, and am told by Ron that they "took care of the Check Engine light". So I said Okay. I'm off the lot with the BMW, and not an hour after I've left, the check engine light comes back on. I'm also starting to feel some engine 'stuttering' occurring when I'm accelerating. But, as I get going, it doesn't seem to be a major issue. I'm a family man, WFH full time (so there wasn't much driving), and I wasn't going to have time to bring it back in for about a week. The following Sunday, I was driving on the freeway. A few miles into my trip, I hear what sounds like one of my back windows cracked and the wind whipping in and out. I turn to look and back passenger window is cracked. I thought 'weird' and go to use the window controls on the driver door to roll it up. The controls don't work. Meanwhile, I'm now seeing that the window is opening further, and then window fell into the door. The switch wasn't rolling it up and the temperature outside was terribly cold. So I drove the rest of the trip with the heat blasting trying to stay warm. Had to tape a plastic bag over it to keep the rain out. So the following day, I returned to discuss what was happening with the car. Sat down with Ron again, and told him that there were a couple things going on I wanted to discuss. Right off the bat, he was talking pretty fast. I told him that when I'd test driven it, the Check Engine light had been on, to which he interrupted me and said "Yea, the camshaft sensor. We replaced it". I said yes, and then told him that the light came back on almost immediately after I'd left the week and half prior. He interrupted me again and said that I bought it as-is. I responded and started to tell him about the residue of the tape over the driver's door window switches, to which he interrupted me again to say something like he didn't know about any issue with the window. I had to tell him to stop interrupting me so that I could finish. After telling him about everything, he said he'd talk to Rich, the owner, to see if they could do anything. He came back and said they would fix the Check Engine light again (which he said "replace the camshaft sensor" again. Did they not already do that?) and back window. So I said okay and that I appreciated it. Came back a couple days later to pick up the car, on my way out Ron told me "You really need to put oil in your car" and there'd be "no more free work". Turns out, they didn't want to spend the 40 bucks on oil to put literally any into the car before selling it to me, as it was bone dry. Check engine lights came back on shortly thereafter; codes all point to camshaft sensor. Oil leaks from the engine, quoted as a repair job worth more than the car. BOTH back windows now do not work properly now. I feel like I was cheated. If there was more room in the review, I'd write more details. If you've read this far, stay far far away from Rich's Car Corner. You can get better business elsewhere. If you must do business there, go through Dante, a salesman, who is a Christian; perhaps that would make him more trustworthy than the rest. I would hope so. read more

This place is absolutely dishonest. I saw a Volvo S70 there and called about it. The sales person tells me there was a huge accident and damaged the entire front row of cars...but here's the issue...I live a few houses down from them and the same cars there from last week were there this week. I entertained myself and went in looking at that same Volvo S70 and asked if had ever been involved in an accident. Sales person says it hasn't and I told him I was the one who called and was told different. Guy said I must have called their competitor. Needless to say, I saw a bunch of cars in the chop shop back there being assembled. Many looked like they were in rough shape. Sigh, most of these reviews are pretty accurate. I'll start by saying the dealers were nice enough to let me come get the vehicle and keep it overnight to bring it to my mechanic the next day. That's about the extent of the pleasantness. I drove an hour and a half twice in two days (in 90+ degree weather, without air conditioning...) to see the car I wanted. The first guy I talked to on the phone said it was no problem and he would toss me the keys as soon as I got there. When I began to ask questions about the vehicle, said man seemed inconvenienced and irritated. I assumed this person could pull up a fact sheet on their computer to let me know more before I made the trip and paid my mechanic to look at it, but apparently I was wrong. I arrived a few hours after my call. The lot was hard to get into - strange location and cramped spaces. When I went into the creepy building, there were a couple men on their phones. No place for visitors to sit. One must awkwardly approach this mans desk which looks like it is up on a lift. Honestly at this point I miss the other dealerships which at least have seats and salesmen who greet you... Again my arrival seems like an inconvenience. One man looks at me and puts his phone on hold, asks what I want, and I get the keys to the car for my test drive. Still, he does not smile, or shake my hand, or really seem to want to acknowledge my existence any more than that. So I leave with the car, feeling ill about the situation, but feeling helpless since I had already made the long drive. Next day my mechanics check it out. There's a couple of internal things; would probably cost me about $200 to fix. No biggie. However, there are lots of cosmetic problems. Dents here and there, pieces of plastic that have been broken and pushed back into place. I would call it "good" condition, but not excellent and honestly not what I had hoped for. Buying this as my first "New/Used" car would not be worth it unless I felt like I was getting a good deal. I go back next day and get the same treatment. No greetings, no hellos or head nods...I get the same dull stare. I had to be the one to engage in conversation, seriously. I tried to give what I thought was a fair price based on the blue book price, and what my mechanic said, and what various other websites/people said. We're not even in the same ballpark. I'll get your old car out, he said. Seriously? After all that effort you're just going to let me go? You're going to try to make me beg you to even negotiate? Tired, and wanting the car, I try again, mentioning that I have cash. Right here, right now, and yes I can go up a little. That seemed to be the only thing that made his ears perk up. He walked away and called his boss. Boss said no, he said. He would go down around 300, but that is it. When fees and taxes were applied, a 300 decrease would look like nothing. I needed a 1500 decrease, which I thought a car dealership could do, especially one that advertises it could "Save you money!" I asked if we were even considering my trade-in. He asked what I would need on my trade in, and while I paused for a second to think, he interrupted with a, "Eh, it wouldn't make any difference anyway." I don't have any more to give, so he basically sent me on my way. Door in face, door in face, door in face. I begged my parents on the phone before pulling out of the lot, and they agreed that they could go up 500. This would mean the dealer only taking 1k off of his internet price. No, can't do it he said. Boss said he wouldn't take any more off, he said. He didn't even bother calling back with the counter offer to his boss. I feel like that would have been reasonable, especially since I put $100 into the car just for inspection, plus took several hours out of both of my weekend days to look into buying the car. I really put in a lot of effort, and honestly would have scrounged up more money if this place was any better than it was. Not worth it, and if your dream car falls into their clutches my advice would be: 1) Make sure the car isn't somewhere else first, because some kinder salespeople would probably be worth it. 2) If 1 isn't possible, make sure you have the money they're asking for, plus probably 500-1500 more for taxes and fees. 3) If you want any negotiation, you should probably be an older man who is substantially large and obnoxious, because I personally did not seem to get their attention. Bottom line: I felt their ploy was to be standoffish and intimidating to me, which does not make me want to shell out cash. I felt uncomfortable and of no value to them. I'm happy to spend my money elsewhere. read more

When I found my 2004 Civic for sale online, I'd never heard of this place, and for once I forgot to check Yelp reviews before I went there. If I had, I probably would not have gone there. And, all things considered, I would be sad that I missed out on this car. I emailed the dealership asking about financing, since I was making a large down payment (almost half the car's asking price of $6500). Glen told me to fill out a credit application and said that even though my credit score is crappy, they'd find financing for me. The lender (Acme Financing) actually called me back before Glen did and talked with me for about 20 minutes. He said I was approved for financing but informed me that the interest was very high (29%). However, since I'm planning on paying it off within the next month, that wasn't so much of a concern to me. The lender was honest and up front with me, assuring me that Rich's was a real dealer and not a shady person out to steal my money. He recommended that I test drive other cars too, to make sure I had the right one. It was ultimately the dealer's advice and reassurances that led me to agree to a test drive at Rich's. After hearing that I didn't currently have a car, Glen had one of the guys there drive the Civic to my home in West Seattle (from Shoreline) so I could test drive it back to the dealership. I liked the way it drove, but remembering the dealer's advice, I looked around at other cars around the same price range. I asked about one in particular and found another one. Glen told me that both of those cars were salvage titles, which I would not have known, so I steered clear of them. I decided to go with the Civic, so I requested the Carfax report and asked questions about the condition of the car and anything that might be wrong with it. Glen answered my questions to the best of his ability, I have no doubt, but of course it's impossible for a dealer to know the complete history of a car or to predict what might go wrong with it. Since I ditched my old car after the timing belt snapped and did a lot of damage, I asked Glen whether the Civic's timing belt had ever been changed. He immediately had his mechanic look at it and informed me that it looked like it hadn't been changed. He offered to have it changed for $100, which is about a quarter of the cost I'd have paid at another mechanic shop with parts and labor. (I know this because I had looked it up earlier.) I agreed and made sure that I got the price and the labor agreement in writing. I also got the warranty package, knowing that it was possible that something could go wrong soon after I bought it and--I'll stress this--that once I drove it off the lot, the dealer was not legally responsible for any repairs. The timing belt wasn't going to be ready until Monday (it was Friday), so Glen sent me home with a free loaner. When I got back to West Seattle, the loaner car had a weird issue. I called Glen and told him about it, and he actually sent someone BACK to West Seattle during rush hour traffic to bring me an entirely new car. I have to say, that's excellent service. I've seen several reviews of this place where people have complained that something went wrong shortly after buying the car. My best advice is to do your research and know what you're getting into. I knew from unfortunate first-hand experience that, because the Civic had 111k miles on it, it needed a new timing belt pronto. I asked informed questions. I got things in writing. I read the paperwork, which explicitly states that the dealership was not responsible for anything that went wrong after the car left the lot. This is not a new or shocking thing; I bought a ten-year-old used car. That's why I got the service agreement. It was $265 extra, which, considering I was dropping $6500 already, was not that big a deal. In short: be an informed buyer, and don't blame it on the dealer if something goes wrong with your older used car in short order. That's what the service agreement is for. Now for the one semi-big negative. They changed the timing belt. It was cheap. Awesome. I've driven the car for about three weeks. Within the last week, I've noticed one of the belts has been squealing. I suspect that when they changed the timing belt, they overtightened it or something else is a little loose in there. I'm a little pissed about that, but since I bought the service agreement, I'm going to take it to my own mechanic and have it fixed. Overall, I'm satisfied with my experience here. Bob, the guy from the financing company, was wonderful. Glen was a good, low-pressure salesman who answered my questions honestly. They were very good to me about coming all the way to West Seattle, first for the test drive and then the issue with the loaner. I'm irritated about the belt issue, but c'est la vie. My best advice to anyone buying a car anywhere is, be a smart, cautious buyer. Ask questions. Get things in writing. Get a service agreement! read more

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. They fix these cars just enough to get them off the lot. My cousin purchased a car from them and she had it all of 24hrs before it broke down, drove it MAYBE 40miles. It was clear that it was not maintained, it had been ran out of oil and the electrical panel had gotten so hot that the wires were all MELTED and then TAPED OVER. It's clear that they knew about the damage and sold it to her anyway. When the car was taken to a mechanic they were appalled that they had sold it to her, it's totaled, they were surprised that the car didn't catch fire while she was driving it. When they were contacted about it all they said was that they should have gotten the warranty and that they might be able to give a discount to fix it. After putting a teenagers life in danger that's the best you can do? Class act boys. read more

Our experience with their sale (except Jim) staff was indifferent and rude. The car that was listed had a number of significant issues. 1. Instrument panel not working. 2. Trunk wouldn't open. Your would think these are some major features of a vehicle that a customer while looking at a vehicle? Another car lot to stay clear from. I am beginning to think that a lot of these used car lots prey on the people who have dire financial issues (no/bad credit, desperate for a vehicle). BUYERS BEWARE!!!! This place is full of scum bags. Don't listen to anything they claim. I bought a car Christmas Eve of this last year as a gift for my wife. The car has barely been drove because it has been in multiple mechanic shops since we got back home. Found out today that the car needs a new transmission among other things. The cost of the repairs are going to be over $5000. I called them to try to come to a solution, but they told me they won't do anything. They knew that the car had issues. It took them 20 minutes to bring the car to the lot. I asked them today why it took so long to get the car to the lot. They said they had to get it from a holding lot. Guess where the holding lot is......ACROSS the street. Now that's fishy! They obviously did this on purpose so the car was heated up. One of the issues I'm having with the car is that it won't move worth beans when it's cold. If I would have test drove this car when it was cold I would have never bought it. They told me if I want a resolution to the issue it will have to be done 3rd party. Lovely business practices. I wish I would have read the yelp reviews before I went here. Save your self the hassle and money. Buy a car some where else! I wanted to update my review because I noticed a couple stabs from other reviews on my experience. First off I would like to say that I read the contract from this company in full. I am aware of what contracts contain buying a used car. I help a close friend occasionally at his used dealer ship. What I do have an issue with is knowingly selling a car with a problem. Which is illegal. This is exactly what happened in my situation. It ended up costing me $4,840 dollars to fix the car they knowingly sold me with a transmission problem. I have the receipt to prove it. The warranty they offered me was extensively priced. A month ago we bought our second car from Rich's in 5 years, this time a 10 year old Forester. We had a pleasant efficient experience working with Dante. (Did I really say that about buying a car?) Be realistic -- its a used car -- due diligence is required. Read CARFAX carefully. Have your mechanic do a pre-sale inspection and ask what the next "scheduled" big expenses might be, like a timing belt. Be clear in writing what will be fixed before purchase. Rich's "internet prices" seemed to match the market. The prices are not padded to allow for a lot of haggling if you enjoy that. Nor inflated to cover a receptionist, huge gleaming showroom, 6 kinds of coffee roast or suits on sales staff. Cars are very overpriced and falling apart. We wanted to take one car for a test drive but the battery was dead. They had to jump it first. It was prices quite high with obvious signs of damage. Car could still be good (at a lower price) so we still wanted to check it out. The inside was not clean, with hair and stains all over the seat, also smelled terrible. Weren't impressed after taking it for a spin. Tried a second car and decided that it probably was not the best place to purchase a car. I think that someone could probably find a decent car here if they took their time and did a lot of research on the car. I wouldn't trust that after you purchase you would find yourself problem free. I think if you can get a good price, know exactly what you are buying and be prepared to invest anywhere from $500-1500 in after purchase care you would probably be happy with your purchase. These independent dealerships are risky and overpriced. You absolutely must do your research, be prepared to haggle and expect to invest additional money after you drive off the lot with your new purchase. read more

They were honest enough about the 2005 Toyota Matrix being in a minor rear collision, but after being nickled-and-dimed by Frank, who kept going back to "ask his manager," and paying a hefty amount, I have now spent over $2000 additionally to replace the clutch, deal with an emissions problem, and other issues. I do not pretend to know a lot about cars, and my inexperience was absolutely exploited at this dishonest, sleazy place. Terrible horrible experience! I went to see a car that was advertised for sale at Rich's. When arrived I was told that the car was not located by office parking lot but behind the car wash which is a block away.. so its a walking distance and I can walk there. I walked there to see that car. But after looking again and again it was clear the car was not there. I did not know what to think at this point. I came back to the office again and said the car was not there. What's happening? Two guys were in the office and one of them said maybe the car was in repair and he doesn't always know where car is - if his mechanic is moving the car. So I said why did you send me there to other location to see a car if you were not sure the car was there? I said it's not the way to treat costumers and it's not respectful to tell costumers something that not true, it's a good lesson to learn to be transparent on their part. What did I get in response from them ??? Here they are two guys in the office standing shoulder to shoulder, with zero apologies, waiving their arms with words goodbye and that its a lesson for me to learn! Yeah.. ,Buying a used car is always risky. My wife and I bought a used car from Rich's back in December. The car was great during the test drive, but by the time we got it home signs of problems began to arise. Turns out the car had a major mechanical problem. Our sales rep Ron reached out to us a couple of days after the sale. We advised him of the situation. Rich's took steps at great effort and likely great expense to make the situation right. We have our our car back and love it. Rich's could have told us that we were on our own, but they didn't. They stood by their product and by their commitment to customer service. I really appreciate their honesty and integrity. I absolutely would do business with them again. read more

This review has virtually nothing to do with Dante (salesman) he did his best and although his communication leaves something to be desired, nothing that occurred was his fault. I purchased my vehicle 10/08. When I test drove the vehicle, it had a brake noise like a warped rotor. I offered to just knock the cost of the brake job off the price of the car-- Dante assured they would just repair it the following week if I brought the car in. Thank god they didn't take me up on my offer. I drove home from Shoreline to Puyallup and the check engine light came on. I immediately texted Dante who assured me that they would address it when it came in for the brake job. I brought the car in on 10/08. I purchased a nice, sleek vehicle. The loaner I was given was a run down piece of trash, 6 years older than my car with actual bolts falling out of the wheel bearing, a bad taillight and reeking of smoke. I thought my car would only be in for a few days, so I had no problem driving this for a short period of time. I hadn't heard from the shop by 10/16 when I had a weekend trip planned in Anacortes. I was not going to drive this car 2.5 hours away and frankly, I was irritated that there had been no communication regarding the repair of my car up to this point. Radio silence. I called in repeatedly and only after 5 days was I informed that my vehicle was at Volkswagen for extensive repair. While driving to the shop to swap out my lemon-loaner, I received a text saying the wiring harness needed replaced and it would be approximately 2 weeks. In total honesty, I was beyond annoyed by the time I reached the dealership at the lack of communication and the bucket they put me in. I requested a new car as a loaner. At first, the gentleman up front said "How about that Toyota Matrix?" to which I said "Try again." He pulled up front a nice BMW which I was happy to take, but only after snide comments from the salesman up front (not Dante) who mentioned he didn't like loaning out cars that expensive. Well, I don't like purchasing cars that don't run! 10/29 I received a text saying my vehicle was done. I had a number of things to do, so I sent my husband up to pick up the car after work. He called from less than 10 miles away from the shop saying the car had thrown another code. They had my vehicle for 21 days. It immediately threw a code after leaving the shop. I called them back and they sounded as stumped as I did. I drove the car to O'Reilly's to have them use their OBD reader and as I pulled in a realized......THEY DID NOT EVEN DO THE BRAKE JOB! It was making the SAME noise it had been on the day I bought it! Seriously?! I returned the vehicle 11/2 due to a very busy weekend, only to receive more flack for not bringing it by the following day. I am not going to pause my life and cut out 2 hours of my weekend with previous plans to cater to the schedule of a shop that can't do what they are supposed to. They put me back in the BMW until the repair was done. 11/4 I got a text saying that the repair was a recall and they were going to take care of it. They had my car for 23 days in the shop and didn't repair a recall. 11/7 the text came in that my car was ready for pickup again, but they could not confirm whether or not the brake job had been done....I let them know I would not be picking it up until that was confirmed. I picked my car up yesterday, 11/9. Drove it home from Shoreline and at this point there is no check engine on. I consider myself pretty understanding, but this was an excessive amount of undue stress for JUST having purchased a car. The two stars come from Dante being a great salesman and the fact that I did not come out of pocket for these repairs. If I had, this would be a much different review. I know used car lots are about the volume of sales. It would be much cheaper on Rich's if they didn't sell lemons to begin with. read more

Our experience buying a car here was not great, but neither was it terrible. In fact, it was pretty much what I expected from a "used car dealer". We found a used Honda CR-V online and went to see it. The test drive went well and we paid cash. The final bill was more than expected but that was mostly sales tax. The salesman, Ron, was pleasant and polite though not in the least inclined to haggle. After we had purchased the car and driven away, we discovered it had no jack or tire tools. We called and Ron assured us he would give us one. And he did. We did take the precaution of purchasing the warranty. We continue to be happy with our purchase despite the ongoing discovery of minor issues, really to be expected with a 16 year old vehicle. read more

Interesting that all the reviews on "Nancy's Book" are 5 stars- clearly a sham. My daughter was interested in a car she found online, but since she is away at school out of state, she needed us to help her with the purchase. She did all the research and spoke at length with a salesman named Jim who assured her that the car was in excellent condition and really did only have 32K miles (on a 1985) because the previous owner hardly ever drove it. Of course we got the CarFax on it and discovered that the odometer had rolled over at least once if not twice. What else were they lying about ? Shame on them for lying to a young first time car buyer. It seems that lying and cheating is just their normal business method. Sad. read more

Jim Roberts was a great guy, straight shooter. No pressure and we feel was very accommodating. 2008 Sienna with 146k miles and they were asking 8k. Let us keep it overnight to take it to mechanic and get inspected..we found this rare. Other places insisted we buy it and then give you time to get it inspected. Imagine the hassle of dealing with any used car company after the fact. Our mechanic found a bunch of stuff he wanted done and I split the list in half and just asked for tires, break pads, and alignment since my family would be in this car (the other half of the list wasn't detrimental to the operation of the car). They did it. Honestly, I really like these guys. Crossing my fingers that the car runs for years, but if you buy a car get it checked out first. Know what you are doing. Would you buy a house without an inspection? I appreciate these guys and will recommend them as well as our mechanic who inspected it Community Auto in Burien...$80! One other thing, depending on how your car is priced they might not be able to do the same thing for you that they did for me, just try being polite. good luck. read more

Ditto on peoples comments that the cars will need extra repairs. I'm pretty sure this place reset the computer so that I wouldn't notice the catalytic converter was bad. The car also needs a new drive belt and complete flush. They do not spruce the cars up at all and attempt to cover up mechanical problems. read more

Avoid this place like the plague!!!! My son bought a car there years ago and because it looked so clean we didn't take to a mechanic. Our bad! Tranny blew less than 6 months later. I thought this might be an anomaly so gave them another chance. This time took a super clean looking car to mechanic. He said oil was absolutely black and the thing was leaking every kind of fluid. Needed almost everything replaced to the tune of over 4k! These guys are crooks!!! and now my poor daughter is out the $150 it cost to have it checked out. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!!! Never, and I mean NEVER, do any business with Rich's Car Corner in Shoreline. This is one completely dishonorable dealership. I bought a car from them a year ago and have had nothing but problems with it since. I called them then, but their basic response was, "It was sold as is". After multiple breakdowns, tows and a couple thousand dollars in repairs, it still wasn't drivable. Finally got it into a good mechanic who found the real problem. Turns out, "someone" had taken the catalytic converter off, HOLLOWED it out, and put it right back on! After doing a little research (Yelp, Google), this seems to be a running theme with these con artists. They Jimmy Rig a vehicle just enough to get it sold, then you're left to flap in the wind on the side of the road. I called them within minutes after finding out - 10 DAYS AGO! The salesman, Dante, has done nothing but blow me off, saying he needed to talk to his brother (THE Rich). Thanks, Rich's Car Corner, oodles and oodles for your unbelievably crappy customer service. You will never be able to count on them to back their cars. PLEASE REPOST AND REPOST, until they make this right. Next step is Legal Aid and picketing, right across the street from them. .They did offer to make the repairs....for $250. They will just keep putting you off until you give up.
