SHADY Salesman-- I had been in touch with a salesperson for the last two days about a specific car for sale and told him I would come up today to see it. This was a 3 1/2 hour drive for me one way. I text him this morning an hour before my arrival and received a reply sounds good I am here. Once I arrived to the lot the very same car was already being looked at by another couple. I looked at him confused. He said well if you would have called me instead of text, I could have held the car for you until you got here. I was livid to say the least. I waited around a little bit and sure enough the other buyer test drove it and bought it. All I got was "sorry" from this salesman and can I show you something else? I guess communicating with your co worker that you had someone driving up to see that one specifically was too difficult. I am shocked at how I was treated and yet this salesperson wanted to make sure I asked for him so he would get some credit after all the effort he put in the last two days... well he ended up losing the sale all together and losing my respect for him and their business.. Went here less than a week ago with my eye on a particular car. After contacting them to make sure it's still available and get financing set up I decide to make the trip over. When I get there I talk with Ron who I spoke with previously when setting everything else up. Within a few minutes they pull the car around and have me go for a test drive. Everything seems to work fine for the test drive and so when I arrive back here I look over the various cosmetic things to make sure there isn't any surprises. Everything looked good enough so I go ahead with the deal. Then later as I'm about 1.5 hours done with my roughly 2 hour drive the engine cuts out. I try restarting and am only able to get maybe a mile down the road before it does it again. Did that process a few more times before it just decided it didn't wanna start up anymore. Sat on the side of the road for hours waiting for a tow truck to show up to get me the rest of the way to my destination. Took it to a shop in my destination town today and they couldn't fix it, I have to take it to a different shop. Also upon further review there is a couple things shown in the picture online from their website that did not come with the car, such as the back cargo area weatherproof mat along with the slide cover for the cargo space to hide it from being able to see the contents from outside. Not sure why those were in the pictures if they don't come with the car. Overall I'm questioning my purchase here. read more

I bought a car and acted like I didn't know anything about them. I'm a certified mechanic. Their cars are ok. Most of them have dents or need some kind of repair.. I bought mine knowing it was going to need elbow grease. I fixed the oil leak the next day and a full time up. Their prices are low for a reason. If you want something in better condition go to the bigger dealers that sell cars in better conditions but prices are higher!! All I can say is DO your research!! The experience at the place was nice. That's about it. The car started having issues with 7 days of buying it. It has been a nightmare ever since. I'm still paying for the car and it hasn't been running for months. I would not recommend this place at all. Stay away unless you want a lemon car. I opted to get the 6 month warranty. It covered nothing and everything that went wrong with the car was not included in the warranty. When I called the dealership to even get more information on what would be covered under the warranty I was told, 'we're not sure we don't handle car repairs'. Car is a death trap and has shut down on me in the middle of the highway almost causing an accident. After taking the car he was interested in to our mechanic of 15yrs (whom I consider family and trust completely), we returned to make an offer based on a list of $2500 in necessary repairs. At this offer, Shaun (sp?) began trying to bully us into paying full price, including leaning into me to tell me to stop interrupting him while he's trying to make a point, and using circular logic to insist we were just trying to get the car for half the asking price, which "just doesn't fly here!" He could have just made a counter offer, or even said the price was not that flexible, etc, but instead he's getting the whole lot written up on Yelp for being hostile about how right he was. read more

I looked up a car on their website and called to say I was coming in to look at it. I had already pulled up the VIN and knew it was a Salvaged title, when I got there Frank handed me a carfax to the same car, but with a different VIN, no salvaged title. Clearly a slimy salesman. I purchased the car after an inspection from the dealership, I had asked Frank if he knew about any of the damage or repairs it had done to it and he said his mechanics had never even touched it, they just bought it and listed it. Then in a later conversation when we were going over the price of the car he mentioned that they had put $1200 into the car to fix it (they were the ones who did the repair after it was totaled, I checked the title on it). That wouldn't have been a big deal to tell me they did the repairs on it, just flat out lying for no reason or purpose at all. I didn't say anything then because I don't really care if he is a lying jerk, I just needed to buy a car. When I came a few days later to pick up the car after I purchased it, I noticed the front tire was really low and he told me it was fine, it just needed some air. Well, on the way home the skid plate came off from underneath the car. And the front tire separated from the wall of the tire and was completely unfixable. So, 24 hours in and 4 tires and a new skid plate later the transmission starts to jolt when downshifting only after it warms up and now it is in the tranny shop getting fixed. I'm not even going to try to call to complain about the car with the $2000 worth of repairs within 72 hours of picking it up from them because I know the answer will be straight lies. I do really like the car, so I am going to try to fix it and keep it, but if anything else breaks I'll have to call the Attorney General and try and get a hearing for the Lemon Law. I am young and trying to establish credit for the first time. Came to Rich's after finding a decent car on their website. Jim assured me the sky high interest rate would only last as long as my no-credit score. He told me six months into paying, I would establish a great credit score and the interest would be cut in half. He sat with me and showed me with this program on his computer the monthly and interest rates. Then he showed me what they would be in six short months. Well six months later, I email him and he tells me that the financing company he paired me with doesn't fluctuate interest rates, and that they only have one. Serious jerk l, that guy. Rich's Car Corner 10-12-2019 OK folks, we bought a 2001 Mustang GT convertible {9-22-2019 - 80k miles}, to replace my 1996 Mustang GT convertible we'd owned for 15 YEARS. We had a new top installed on this 96 Mustang @ 2yrs ago by Convertibles Only in Seattle, so we are also familiar with new convertible tops (we've had a 1998 Chrysler Sebring Convertible for longer) AND ADD, we are familiar with convertibles in general. Now Rich's must not have driven, this car or they'd have known there was an engine problem {or didn't care}, which, to their credit they fixed. Did we get any type of documentation? NO, but it seems to have been fixed. (Aside, I had the car checked with our shop and they detailed the deficiencies) This car is a CONVERTIBLE and Ron, our salesman, was totally unfamiliar with the term 'boot' when I asked if the car had one. 'No boots' was his response - I informed him that the term is singular, not plural.... I mentioned that the new top seems hard to deal with - the top and its 'posts' in where it should clamp into don't match up. And the top motor is SLOW. So today (10/12/2019) the top would not come up, the motor would barely function AND finally, with my wife's help we got the top up. My recent communications with Ron tonight - 1. he claims to have a mustang convertible himself, BUT how can anyone with a convertible not know what a 'boot' is? I ask you. 2. he said to bring it in and he'd demonstrate to a top goes up and down. A method we are all too familiar with. 3. he said tough sh*t, there is nothing he could do. I'll ask you, is this the type of car sales biz you'd like to do biz with? Lastly, they offer a warranty thru ASC, we were stupid from a risk management perspective, the 'warranty' while it covers a lot of items, the maximum dollar amount they cover is, GASP, $1000. Both the Three & Six Month 'warranties' cover a MAX of $1000. What did the Six- Month Warranty cost us? $508. Yes, we paid half of the total amount of coverage in premiums. Did Rich's Car Corner and Ron mention this? NO, NO, NO Ron did not. Using email and/or text messages provides a written documentary proof for any discrepancies that can occur with phone conversations. Keep that in mind with any important communiques.... However, don't despair future car buyers, this is only the opening chapter in this horrid story ..... read more

BEWARE.. DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM THIS PLACE!! BAD EXPERIENCE AND UNSAFE CAR!! My niece recently purchased a car from this dealer. She had the car less than 24hrs (drove it maybe 40 miles) when began to shake and it was clear it was unsafe to continue to drive. Yes, she bought it as is, cash, did not finance. When her mother called the sales person to speak with him about the car he was rude and condescending... telling her repeatedly how he offered her warranty options and how it was not his fault that she did not do that. But he did offer to have their mechanics take a look and he could maybe offer her a deal on having it fixed. Bottom line not his problem. Feeling a complete lack of trust the car was not taken to back to Rich's. The car was towed to a reputable mechanic who discovered a ton of issues with the car. Most concerning was that the electrical at some point had fried and gotten so hot that the wiring and electrical panel melted. The extent of which he could be seen when the tape, that was covering the panel was removed. So Rich's either saw the damage and taped over it or, didn't care to even look at. The mechanic expressed shock that it had not caught fire while my niece was driving it. It was not safe to drive!! That was only one of the many issues. Because of the attitude the sales person took with my friend she feels completely humiliated and intimidated and will not call them to complain or offer them opportunity to make it right. She feels she tried that when speaking with the sales person initially. I understand that buying a used car you most certainly will have issues to deal with.. But I am shocked at any dealer would sell a car in this condition. It could have very well caught fire and seriously injured my niece. My niece is 16. Saved for the better part of the last year to buy her first car. Terrible experience!! They were awful to this family and I would recommend looking elsewhere for a car!!! My hope is that Rich's will reach out to fix this or make it better. read more

I got $500 for my old car because it had a salvaged title, which didn't surprise me because I bought it through a private party. A bunch of guys were just standing around with their hands in their pockets shooting the breeze. After about ten minutes of walking around and past them twice, one guys asks if I needed help. We found the car we purchased from Rich's Car Corner online. When we went in to see it, they gave us no hassle about the price. The car needed to be jumped to start, (it had been sitting for a couple of weeks) and because I was worried about it, they replaced the battery and battery connector as a courtesy. Danny, our salesperson, made very little off of the sale because the price was so low. We live a little ways away, and when the plates came in they were super helpful and mailed them to us. We paid for the car outright with a credit card. This also diminished the profit margin, but they treated us with the utmost professionalism. It was my easiest car purchase experience ever. It's a used car lot, but if you do your research, check the car, and they have what you want, they can easily help you get it at a good price. read more

They sold me a car that they swore up and down was in perfect condition with NO ISSUES! 112 miles later we had to replace the transmission to the tune of $2,734. The mechanic we had the vehicle towed to stated that there were metal shavings in the pan, and someone had removed a pan and not put it back on properly which told him that anyone who looked over the car was fully aware of the issue. After this, I returned to Rich's with my receipt from the garage that did the repair and asked what they were willing to do to rectify the situation.... Their answer? No we can't do anything for you but you we probably could've saved you a little on the repair if you would've brought it here to fix!! Seriously!?!? My husband got a new job that he had to commute to so we were really pressed for time in selecting a vehicle. Long story short Rich's Car Corner sold us an absolute lemon. Their only response has been that the know 'they are on the right side of the law'. We launched an investigation through Angies LIst and the only thing they offered to do was to see how much it would cost to get fixed (knowing they had already done that and they couldn't fix it!). The level of customer car and service has been atrocious. AND DO NOT buy the warranty. It is good for nothing except maybe the drive train. It does not cover the coolant system, radiator nothing. There are many other affordable car dealerships that won't rob you blind. If you are considering Rich's Car Corner - think again. I'll try to balance out the raging angry folks. While definitely not a top of the line sales experience, they aren't nearly as bad as the previous reviews suggest. I bought a 1998 Honda Civic with 167k mileage for $4k (at the time every other similar private or dealer car listed online was easily 1-2k more). 3 months later it still runs great. It had a minor oil leak ($200 fix), but other than that, my mechanic said it's in good shape. Here's the pros and cons: Pro: Great prices for someone who knows how to check a car before buying. Every old car has its issues, but a thorough inspection can weed out the junkers. Pro: Hassle free salesmanship. Some may criticize these guys for being too hands off, but I like a guy that shows me what I want without trying to upsell me or add useless guarantees. I got a carfax with no argument and the paperwork was seamless. They even agreed to fix a sticky door handle and burned out lightbulb before I signed. Pro: A little research also shows they have an A+ with BBB, so calling them "crooks and cheaters" is a petty and baseless claim. Con: They don't put much effort into appearing professional. The building is old and in need of maintenance, the lot is disorganized and the sales guys dress like mechanics. Honestly, this put me off at first, but once I got my car it no longer seemed like an issue. In retrospect, I like their break from the steriotypical "smarmy suit guy" look. Con: Can you say disorganized? I saw my car online and even called ahead to make sure it was still on the lot. When I got there, they took 10 minutes to tell me it must have been sold. After browsing the lot for 5 minutes, I saw my car and pointed it out to them (roll eyes). The engine also overheated a little on my test drive, so I made them check the car. Almost no oil or coolant in the engine! It ran fine once they added the fluid. Con (ish): I'm old fashioned and like to haggle, but nothing worked on this guy. He gave ground on the minor repairs, but the price stayed locked at $4k. I didn't really sweat over this, since all other cars were going for a minimum of $5k, but good luck trying to negotiate. They will insist that the price is already rock-bottom. Hope this helps someone. read more

I am updating this review because CarGurus sent me an email on 8/29/2018 that the 2005 Chevy Venture vin# 1GNDV23V75D103039 Had been sold about a week after a test drove it and found it had a blown HEAD GASKET. I had also noticed that they had just added liquid glass to the motor as a temp repair to sell it. Now it is back on CL for sell again. so this means that who ever bought it brought it back after discovering it had a blown head gasket and they are trying to sell it again. I altered the contract once or twice to reflect verbal agreements between myself and the dealer, and each time the guy helping us happily signed each alteration. I had read all the poor reviews first, of course, and you know what happened when I read through the paperwork? Yep. Once you drive the car off the lot THE DEALER HAS NO MORE RESPONSIBILITY TO YOU. They don't owe you ANYTHING. If you don't read the paperwork and you don't get a warranty (which was only 300$, come on) that's your fault. They were kind to us and didn't treat us like suckers. So, i gave this place the benefit of the doubt. I expected sleazy salesfolk but for the prices advertised online you could guess what kinda place it is. So, i arrive with several cars in mind. I know about cars. I am not the kinda guy this place wants on the lot. The first car shown had very very serious oil leaks going on. White smoke and all. Probably a bad cat too. So i asked to see the next car on my list. That one was actually pretty good and i found the motor to be solid but the rear suspension to be subpar radio not working yet they claimed to have replaced it (common on model). Tabs broken or torn on components due to fast sloppy chop shop work. Let's go now to pricing. I know what cars cost and the lot price is waaaay higher than the internet price (classic bait n switch). The salesman was NOT willing to negotiate. Showed me his computer about all the work that was supposedly done on the car and quickly turned the screen away so i couldn't see the details. Lots of tirades about honesty and 'this is the best we can do'. He thought i only had a couple grand available and kept pressuring me on how much cash i had on hand or where my money was coming from (to which i suggested 'we are not at that point in our purchase as yet'). Smoked in front of me. Unacceptable. I jokingly said 'sure feel free to smoke' after he lit up flabbergasted. Probably the most unprofessional sleazy person i've ever dealt with. Pressure and fake 'work' done on the car was more than enough for me. We left having bought nothing due to the childish behavior which bordered on frantic. What he didn't know was that i had over 5g cash on hand to plop on a car that day. High pressure sales don't work when your clients are educated and know about cars/problems. As well, the salesman seemed jacked up on something. Really awkward, erratic behavior. I think he might have been on speed or something. Coke maybe? Anyway, no, never again. Simply put just don't go here if you know what's good for you. If you must go keep your wits about you and do not let them fast talk you - they will be smooth and clever. I watched a poor clueless kid drive off the lot in a cosmetically sound honda that had a clearly broken exhaust and sounds of engine trouble.
