A friend recommended this shop since my regular mechanic couldn't work on air conditioners and I'm so glad I came here! My air conditioning had completely died and was blowing HOT AIR, one person my husband talked to at another shop said that what it sounded like would be a couple hundred just in labor so I was expecting it to be a large repair. It turns out there were no leaks and nothing broken, it just needed to be serviced. They saved me hundreds! Josh was the guy I worked with and he was great, it only took a couple hours and now my ac is ICE COLD! I'll definitely come back here in the future. I've been bringing my work trucks to Rick's Complete Autocare for almost a year now. I got to say, a FIVE STAR service every visit. My guys are in and back out on the field within minutes. The crew Josh, Ernesto, and the service techs work well together and are fast, courteous, and reliable. What more can you ask for! Oh yeah, prices! "Reasonable and fair prices." They did my oil change and smog check in less than one hour and that's with a vehicle infront of me for the smog check. I brought my car in because I had a check engine light on and was worried that something major might be in the offing. They called me about 15 minutes after I had dropped it off to tell me that the only things was wrong was that the gas cap was not tightened down properly which set off the alarm. They didn't charge anything for this and handled it quickly and professionally. Integrity counts for a lot with Auto Repair, as everyone knows, and this showed it to me. Stopped in to change the oil in my honda odyssey, guys just had a pizza delivered but worked on my car before starting to eat. I hate lazy shops! They lost my business (I have 8 cars!!) do to the laziness of giving a ridiculous quote. I asked how much brakes (front flush, brakes, rotors and sensors) were for my Mercedes. The guy says "well it'll run you $400 to $800" ..... WTF? Excuse me? That's a $400 VAGUE difference! Instead of asking for my VIN# and calling his supplier and getting back to me, they choose to be lazy!! Well I wasn't lazy enough to write this review! I've been a long time customer at Rick's Lube, but today they have lost me as a customer. As a woman it's hard to find a trustworthy mechanic and I've always trusted Rick's. But today I had a horrible experience with Alex, he was extremely rude and insulting and his behavior was unapologetic. When I advised him he was rude and didn't need to speak to me that way. He was proceeding to be dismissive and tell me "Bye", keep in mind this was after I paid for service Alex, Lets be factual your rendition is not true. Yes, I left and maybe 5 minutes later I called in and stated there was a bolt on my tire. The person I spoke with asked me to come back to the shop and I did. The gentleman I spoke with was nice listened to me and understood where I was coming from, he then preceded to call a tire shop because he stated you guys don't fix tires. Yes, I said I did not have a bolt when I left, yes I did here the sound when I left the shop and pulled over and called the shop and returned because I was asked to. I was told that the shop was swept daily. I simply said nicely " I did not have anything in my tire when I arrived here, when I left I heard the noise and contacted you all, I do feel like it was picked up at the shop. I can understand if you don't feel that way. I'm not asking for you to fix it but maybe you can at least give me a credit of 20 dollars since you said that's how much the tire shop will charge me since I've been coming here for years and my family and I have to come back for my breaks which you guess suggested during my oil change. The guy I was speaking to, not you Alex said "let me see what I can do to make it right" you Alex at that time intervened in the conversation and and asked the guy "what he was doing, there is nothing you guys can do what happens before arrival or after is not your problem. The guy then said again I just trying to make it right. You Alex them turned to me and said " you can just leave and go to the tire shop" I then said "I just feel" and you interrupted me and said "you can leave". I then said "you do need to be rude to me" and you again told me to leave. I again said "you're being rude and asked your name. You stood there with a smile on you face and said Alex, I responded that I've been coming here for years and the owner Rick has always been nothing but nice, but you Alex are being an asshole". Now that's the truth! Alex you customer service is horrible and I hope Rick seriously has a discussion with you. Also your response is a true tell all, If I was such a rude customer why would you want me to come back? I was never rude, loud are any of the other characteristics you described. What I was, was astonished that you would treat a customer that way. I did call you a asshole after I told you you didn't need to be rude to me and you continued. If you all have cameras I hope Rick would take a look and get the truth. read more

I had another couple great encounters with Rick's Lube this week! They changed the oil in my 96 Avalon (but could not smog it due to needing a Star Certified Station), then they smog checked my 04 Odyssey and fixed the nagging air conditioner problem we were having. We were able to use the van for our "drive through" high school graduation today for my daughter at South High. So grateful for the quick, effective and thorough service! Do not go to this place very bad customer service. I have been going to this place for the last 4 years and every thing was fine, recently i pulled in to the shop to request brake service, right before i got out of the car one the employees came up to me and started yelling at me I had no idea what was going on. He was claiming that I was blocking the entrance of the shop at the same time pointing his finger at me. I was choked with the treatment and the disrespect. first of all I was not blocking the entrance and even if I was, I deserve some respect and decency. The employee's name was JOSHUA. At that point I decided to write my review about this place and stop going there for service. we all know that there are many many places that can do oil change and brake service and happy to do it. Came in at 930am Saturday for an oil change. A nice technician approached me with a friendly greeting as soon as i walked in! Nice, clean facilities and a TV in the waiting area. They were even able to take my car immediately. What a god-send considering i had just gotten off a 14-hr night shift and wanted nothing more than to go home ASAP. The entire visit lasted less than 20 min. and barely costed $35. Very reasonable for great, expedient service! read more

I used to love this place but after the last 2 visits I will no longer be returning. I used to refer people here but not anymore. First incident was with my daughter's car. She was quoted two different prices by two different people for the same problem. I overlooked it. This last incident is to much to overlook. I had a leak coming from my 2005 GMC Envoy XL. I had my father look at it. He told me there was a leak coming from a hose and to take it to my regular mechanic. I took it in and their diagnosis was I needed an ENGINE REBUILD. Huh? I have a simple leak and your recommendation is an engine rebuild?! Yes, because it's leaking coolant. He asked if my car ever overheated, no sir not even once. He said that it would continue to leak then overheat and since my engine block was aluminum when that happens it would warp. All this over a leak? Are you sure? There's nothing else that can be done? No. Our recommendation is an engine rebuild. I don't think so. So naturally I refused and picked up my car. My father looked at it. The leak was coming from a faulty heater control valve. He also replaced an eroded vacuum hose. Just to make sure everything was ok I took it to the dealer to have a multipoint inspection done. Other than a problem with my instrument panel (which I knew about but was just procrastinating about having it fixed) my truck was in great shape. So I don't need an engine rebuild? No ma'am. $50 worth of parts and a little elbow grease did the trick. I have been a loyal customer for the last 6 years. I can't believe they would try to get me like that. Very bad experience. I took my BMW 525i to get the thermostat housing and assembly put on and 6 hours later, they called and said that the "radiator blew out" as well as the "head gasket." They didn't take any responsibility for the damage they caused. They made like sound like it was my fault and they're the one's who did the work. I took it to another mechanic shop and had them test the "head gasket." They told me that the "head gasket" is not blown and that the radiator looks like it was broken when they tried to replace the old radiator hose because the radiator is old and made of plastic. The mechanic explained that when they moved the radiator hose for replacement, somebody pushed it down and caused the plastic part on the radiator to crack. Rick's lube & tune should have being honest and told me the truth, but I guess that's not how they work. I would have accepted that the BMW was old and made of plastic and I still would have bought another one and have them put it in. I paid them for what I asked them to do because that's was honest people do. They used to do really good work and be trusted but not anymore. read more

They only charged $25 for labor so I took it in 30 mins before closing. Their service was quick and friendly and i appreciate that they didn't try to sell me extra stuff. These guys were able to remove a stuck 11 year old Oxygen Sensor that just refused to budge. I spent almost three days trying to do this on my own and finally gave up and let the professionals do there thing. At Rick's I came by at 8:30am and they immediately pulled the car in. It took them a little while to get it out but I was expecting that from an 11 year old oxygen sensor. What is cool/geeky about this place is that they have cameras set up in the engine bays that allow you to observe what they are doing from the comfort of an air conditioned waiting room. I find that level of transperancy very honest. read more

Just moved from San Diego to Carson and I was looking for spot to change my oil and also change my brake pads. I came with my own oil, oil filter, and new brake pads for all four wheels. The guy was really cool and told me it would take about 3 hours. In about 1 1/2 hour, they were done! They were even honest enough to tell that I didn't need to change my rear brake pads that there good for awhile. They even gave me additional discounts just because! Awesome service! The guys are awesome.. Rebuilt the engine, transmission, sensors, oil changes, & even pulled & plugged a bolt in the tire.. Even after all that, & plus some... They still welcome us back when we bring our evil Chrysler.. (even though we all wish it would just blow up already...
