This snack bar was located on the private beach that was associated with our condo rental (Sandpiper Cove, managed by Holiday Isle). We were impressed with the service, the prices and the taste of the food. First let's set the scene: you can walk DIRECTLY from the beach to this shaded area. Order food and eat there at the picnic tables OR take it back to your spot on the beach. The convenience itself is amazing. Second: the prices were NOT inflated. We ordered a chicken tender basket with a fry basket (both considered apps) for $4 and it fed both my daughter and I. I also ordered a frozen white russian for only $7 (it wasn't my favorite but it was decent). The chicken tenders appeared hand breaded and tasted great and their ranch dipping sauce is homemade! I only licked the leftovers out of the bowl it was so good! They accept cash only - that is important to know. We used the snack area to grab food but also to get out of the sun for an hour or so on the day we didn't rent beach chairs. They also have clean bathrooms to use and showers in the bottom of the building (free to use). It doesn't get better than Rick's if you are staying at a resort that has access to this beach! read more

I was staying at the Sandpiper Cove condo's and Rick's was a few feet away from our unit. Rick's is more or less a food/concession stand, though they do have covered seating on the deck/patio. The tricky part is unless you're staying at the condo's you can't easily get to it from the street since the entrance to the parking lot is gated and you need a code to pull in. The good news is if you walk up from the beach through a different access point you can easily walk up to it. I went with the consensus and ordered the blackened fish sandwich. WOW. One of the best meals I ordered during the whole trip. Generous pieces of fish in a soft and fluffy French baguette, layered with crisp lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. The tartar sauce that came on the side was delish and allowed you to dress it up yourself. We also ordered a side of sweet potato fries and they were equally as tasty. I have never seen such quality offerings at a beach concession stand. P.S. Cash only. read more

So you do have to stay in sandpipers cove to get to, but it was fantastic. My fish sandwich was WAY better than what I paid double for at Fudpucker's. Hubby and daughter liked their tacos, chicken strips were approved by two other kiddos. Fries were hot! Minimal wait compared to what a family of 6 would normally have to wait at a destin beach front restaurant! Drinks were good, but could've been a little stronger for price. read more

Ricks is our favorite part of staying on Holiday isle!! The smoked tuna dip and bang bang shrimp tacos are so good! We look forward to this place every year. It's so convenient for lunch or drinks while on the beach and the service is always quick. read more

Just FYI, this place appears to be only for those staying in the resorts on the property. We tried to go here based on reviews but was met with signs that say property owners only. Gated. Stars do not reflect service but feel someone should post somewhere of this so people don't think they can eat here, drive out of their way, only to find you can't. read more

This place is a little treasure along the Gulf Shore Drive area of Destin. Right off the beach, really good light beach fare and mixed drinks. Open sir do it can be breezy and cold at times if the weathers a little off but beautiful views and quick service. Love it. read more

What a great little beach bar. The little blonde gal behind the bar is so great. She's sweet and kind and can make drinks like no one's business. She kept the line going quickly. And the food was tasty for a beach bar. It was nice to have it in the complex and we could order a drink and take it to the beach. read more

Just got back from Destin and a week stay at the Sandpiper Cove. Definitely one of the highlights of the trip. Great staff and awesome food. Blackened fish sandwich was better than what I paid three times as much for at another local restaurant. Just a great place with people that made you feel at ease. Cash only and sometimes a wait because it is just that good and convenient. I wish there was a 6th star. In the future, I will coordinate my condo stay so it is close to Ricks on future trips! read more

We read the reviews but were worried we couldn't get in because someone said you have to stay at the resort. We walked right off the beach and had the most perfectly cooked blackened mahi mahi sandwich. The server was super sweet and the beer was cold. What more could we ask for? Very dumb that it's only open to Sand Piper guests especially because of the pandemic. My bf and I just wanted to get some food on the beach and we weren't allowed to eat here. Considering most businesses are struggling during the pandemic, it would probably be beneficial to them to have other people be able to enjoy their food. read more

This place is really good and conveniently right next to the beach by the sandpiper cove property. It's worth a trip especially for the price and it's local. The menu is diverse with everything from cheese sticks to grilled fish sandwiches and tacos. You can also buy bags of ice from a machine in front with cash or card. You can order food in your swimsuit and take it back to your chair on the beach or eat it there with an amazing view. It's possible to get yourself a whole meal and drink for twenty bucks and you really can't beat it for a beach spot. read more

Great little lunch spot on the beach for people staying in Sandpiper Cove. The blackened fish sandwich is the best one in town. Lots of fish, fresh lettuce tomato and onion. The tacos are another good option. The drinks both alcoholic and non are reasonable priced. The fries and onion rings are a little pricey for what you get, but the fish sandwich makes up for it. Impossible to access this restaurant if you are not staying at the sand piper properties. A private restaurant that is inaccessible to the general public should not be listed on Yelp, a app designed to help out of town visitors find good eats. This is a bar and grill located on the Sandpiper Cove Properties. It wasn't on Yelp yet buy a guy leaving told us about it. Excellent fish sandwiches. Its fresh fish and all their prices are reasonable. It is outside is to gets hot. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This hidden gem is one of the best cheaper places to grab a bite in Destin. We had lunch here every day during our vacation. It was delicious every single time. I had the blackened fish sandwich without the bun and hush puppies. Their grill is seasoned to perfection.
