The entire staff at Ricks are so helpful and friendly, weather it's on the phone, or in their well stocked RV supply store, their customer service, patience and professionalism is to be commended! It's so refreshing to experience this type of personalized service still. I have been to the big stores like Camper World who are also nice, but Ricks is the place to go in my opinion. They have a really well stocked store and a huge catalog they give you where you can order literally anything you need. Had a problem with the slide out on my camper. We discovered hours before we were ready to leave on a camping trip. My wife made a panicked call to ricks to see if they could do anything. They didn't make any promises but said they would take a look first thing in the morning and see what they could do. Well they stopped what they were doing took a look and fixed it in about 20 minutes. We have had numerous phone calls with the manufacture and run around crazy trying to get fixes the entire day before with no luck. Ricks came through and they always do. First of all I want to start out by saying the service, flexibility and courteous service I received was first class. Both Tom and Brian could not have been more accommodating or helpful while my 5th wheel was repaired. However, the 50Amp service cable that was with the vehicle is now missing (disappeared while trailer was on their property) leaving me with nearly $300 worth of additional expense beyond the repair work. According to the conversation I had they are unwilling to 'replace' the lost or missing item and no attempt was made to 'meet in the middle' as far as I am concerned. I was really disappointed that no offer or problem resolution was offered and I feel that yet again, an effort to form a lasting relationship with a RV repair facility has fallen flat on its face. I feel pretty cheated actually. I'm happy to respond to RTS follow up if any and at this time I'm headed back to Orange County to file a report with the local Sheriff's Dept. read more

I came in without an appointment and they diagnosed my trailer/RV with 2 totally dead batteries right away. They had the correct batteries in stock and switched them out for me. They filled up my propane tanks too! All of this took under an hour. They checked all my connections in my truck and trailer/RV to make sure the dead batteries were the only problem. The shop is out of the way on the hilltop (literally!). Everyone on the phone and in the shop was super nice. I had an issue with my leveling jacks and signals after a battery replacement. They found my issue quickly and replaced needed part. They even have a propane fill station if you need it before your trip. Would definitely recommend. read more

I found that the folks there, Tom, Brian, and Carol, are awesome folks who take their work seriously. They are straight shooters and do not do anything except excellent repairs/installations. I have had Rick's service my two motorhomes for 9 years. They are very professional and do a first class job. Recently Tom suggested the addition of a rear anti sway bar for my Kodiak Chassis motorhome. The difference was outstanding. No more leaning in curves and the rig is much more stable. Paul found that my coach was not wired correctly and was able to change from 30 amp to 50 amp service which allowed me to run both air conditioners at the same time. read more

I want to start by saying that this is my first yelp review and have only decided to write this because my experience with Rick's was that bad. It started when the furnace stopped working in my camper and I brought it in to be fixed. They replaced the ignitor board in my furnace but did not replace it with an OEM part. Since that time my furnace only works at sea level and if the temperature is greater then 50degrees. Needless to say a furnace that only works when it is warm is not functional. I had brought it back to Rick's and they claimed that this was just a problem with these heaters at altitude. I tried to deal with this for a year but it is winter again and I spend a lot of time in the mountains with my camper and I could no longer do this with an unreliable heater. Since my furnace is an Atwood product I called the company directly to try and figure out what the issue could be. Atwood was very professional and helpful and suggested that the reason was that an non OEM ignitor board was used. So I purchased the Atwood ignitor board and called Rick's to schedule an appointment to have the board replaced again. I wasn't looking for a refund on the part or even to have the board replaced for free, I really just wanted to have a functioning furnace again. When I arrived for my appointment I was met by Tom who tells me that it is impossible that the reason for the failure was the non-OEM board and that actually the dinosaur board he had used was a superior product. When I told him what Atwood told me about why they think that the furnace was not functioning properly, Tom was very dismissive and said they were just trying to rush me off the phone. Atwood had actually called me several times in the interest of trying to resolve my issue, they in no way rushed me off the phone. I asked him how it could be that I had a furnace that worked for years at altitude and in -5 weather but since the board was replaced by him it does not work, he could not answer this question. His demeanor the whole time was defensive and condescending. I had had this appointment scheduled for over a week, why would he not have called me sooner if he felt so strongly that replacing the board was useless. Instead he wasted my time and pretty much told me that Atwood didn't know what they were talking about. I had asked several times for him to explain this but he just skirted the question and kept getting more hostile. This lead me to believe that he was being dishonest with me to cover up his shoddy work. When I suggested that he was being dishonest he got very angry and told me to leave, which I gladly did. These guys (and gals) are awesome. I had a towing package (electric brake, air bags, hitch) installed on my truck here and they were fast, courteous, and knowledgeable. Their price was great too. Everyone was very a pleasure to work with. A few years later, the air bag compressor stopped working and I called them and was instructed to bring it in. I had to work so my wife brought it in and they took great care of her. It turned out to be an electronic issue and they fixed it free of charge. AWESOME! I would use them again and urge anyone who needs anything trailer or RV related to give them a shot. I would say about the only negative thing is that there aren't more locations and it is a bit of a drive from where I'm at, but regardless, it is worth the drive. read more

It was December 29 and we were preparing to leave our campsite at San Clemente State Park when the black water backed up into the toilet instead of draining down the sewer. I called Rick's and even though they were operating under a skeleton staff during the holidays they said to bring it right in. Within a few hours they had diagnosed and fixed the problem as well as filed a claim for us through our extended warranty policy. I'm biased. I have a van decked out with all the motorhome stuff. I live in San Clemente and the closest repair place was Irvine. The guy at the supply checkout is the one who writes up a service order. He hates details. You have to know what's wrong and what they need to do. You have to leave it. I was wrong 5 times and my electrical system continued to not function until I lay in wait for the service manager and pleaded. The problem was a little fuse. The reason I still have this vehicle is Rick's Trailer Supply, a misnomer if there ever was one. Buried in the outer reaches of San Clemente, it is in actuality a total motorhome service place. When I first found it I couldn't believe my luck. They do appointments. Come in and wait. For me, on four occasions they started when they said, finished in a reasonable time, and had reasonable prices. Debbie answers the phone, can set up appointments and can order parts for your refrigerator. Tom is who you talk to if you need service. He also runs the service center. Whenever I have told him a problem, he knows the probable cause and can arrange service and quotes an estimate. My last two wait appointments were for swapping out the house battery (a chore on this vehicle) and for Onan generator service including a new carburetor (it runs the best it ever has.) I'm hoping to make sure they have enough business to do well, but not so much I can't get in when I want. If you have a motorhome, this is nirvana. read more

Horrible place. Will never go to this business again. Dropped off our trailer to have them give us an estimate on our generator. Nothing was mentioned on price to tell us what was wrong and I told Tom that another person stated that our governor was bad. He calls me finally at 3pm and tells me that it would cost $1600.00 to repair. Then when I asked how long would my generator last with the repair he had to get back to me. They get back to me later and then tell me that it is not worth it to fix the generator and now they want 5-6 thousand to replace it. I tell them that I need to think about this and that I would be picking up my trailer in the morning. I pull in and they hand me a bill for $90.00 I was dumbfounded. I asked why he said " Do you expect me to work for free?" I said you never said anything to me prior or when I told you I was coming to pick up my trailer there was a charge. I paid the charge and left. Will never recommend this place or ever go back. Warning to all of you, you will be charged a diagnostic fee and they won't tell you about it till you show up to pick up your item. read more
