I have used Harry's on several occasions, I took an expensive (for me $119.00) pair of sandals to get the back strap shortened. He told me what was going to be done and the fee was paid. I came back in a couple of weeks to pickup the shoes. Assured the woman behind the counter that they are the correct shoes. Didn't look to much at them as we had an engagement that evening and needed to go when I got home. Decided to wear Sunday May 25. Put on the shoes and it looked like there was thread that may have fallen when repairing. Looking more carefully, realizing that the elastic was torn,cut. Took them back to ask them to replace the shoes, or return the fee to fix the shoes. Instead, refused to take responsibility for issue, then she told me he could fix it, BUT... I would have to pay for the repair. Icing on the cake. Not going back, apparently you roll the dice on taking shoes there. Sometimes it's good, others not so much. I was really hoping for the best, as I needed a new shoe/purse repair shop after moving from the other side of town. Disappointed on every level is an understatement. First, they gave no estimate at drop-off because his "purse guy was out of town", so I provided my phone number with the promise to call the following day with an estimate and eta. No call came...5 days later, I call, but no one answered and no voicemail. This went on for another week, until I finally resorted to returning to pick up my purse. When I arrived and explained I'd been trying to reach him for nearly 2 weeks he acted surprised and was dismissive of my attempts, and said he'd have me a quote by the next day. Against my better judgment, I gave him another chance. Another 4 days passed before I attempted another call. To my surprise a woman answered, and after explaining my concerns/frustrations, she said she'd get back to me shortly. She did, and said my purse was done. Surprised, I asked how could that be possibly be, being I hadn't approved a cost (the purse is only worth $50, so I certainly didn't want to pay anything excessive to repair the strap). She said... "well, it's done and you can pick it up this afternoon". Cost would be $75!!!! I told her I would never have approved this price given the value of the purse. She apologized for the lack of communication and said they'd call me back with a different price. Later, the owner called saying he did try to call me (I have no messages) before he started the work, and the most he could reduce was to $45. He had not explanation as to why he didn't leave a message, or why I wasn't called when it was finished. I decided to accept the negotiated price even though I felt it was excessive. Upon pickup the repair was completely unacceptable for the price - simply a strap wrapped around a previously triple braded rope strap. So....buyer beware! Unprofessional, poor workmanship, and over-priced. Very disappointed!! read more

From the rude customer service to the shotty (and just absolute gross quality of work performed) - I absolutely would NOT recommend this place. I took it in for 2 stitches to be made, got it back a week later and only one was made. The rep argued with me and said he had done both, but then had me bring it back in. I waited another week for 1 stitch (after paying $40) and my purse was given back to me filthy. The guy clearly didn't even bother washing his hands before working on my purse. I left my new leather purse there just to have the strap shortened on January 4th. I was told it would be ready the 18th but when I called, he asked for more time so I gave him the 22nd which he promised it would be ready. Now, no answer and I have called several times. I know this place has mixed reviews on Yelp and Google, but I wanted to give them a shot anyways. I just needed the tip on one of my high heels replaced. I walked in, expecting to drop off my high heels and not see them for a week, but the man asked if I wanted to wait. YES! He said it would take about 10 minutes. Omg I was so happy!! That's some customer service right there. ALSO, the total was $14.02, but I only had $13.00 in cash on me, so I offered to pay on my debit/Visa card. He said the $13.00 in cash was fine. Seriously, great customer service. I got the tip replaced in 10 minutes, and I saved a $1.02. I will be back!! Photos attached. read more

Sadly, I've apparently "donated" my bag to their shop--as it's been at the shop for over six months. I've called, stopped by, etc etc with zero response. I had given them my LV handbag to replace a part of the shoulder strap. They fixed it, but the material used didn't hold...I brought it back for another repair, and they said they'd need to replace the entire handle. Not a big deal, they were going to try to give me a "fair" price for the second fix. They promised they'd call to give me the final price and an update. They never called, and I no longer have the tag for the purse. I've apparently now "donated" the bag, to this shop. Bummer as I really did like this hand bag. read more

I want to preface this review by saying that I have spoken with people that have said that they Harry's does fantastic work. I however can not speak to the level of their craftsmanship. I dropped my boots off on Monday and said what I needed done and that I would need them back by the following Monday for work. The only person working there apparently did not have any idea what was happening because he could not quote me a price, instead saying that they would have to call me back at 2:00 to let me know and agree to the price. This was fine, but they never called. I tried to call them on Tuesday only to find out that they are closed ALL WEEK for Thanksgiving. As a small business they get to set their hours, that is fine, but at least inform your customers that of the change in hours. Today is Saturday and the first day they are supposed to be open after the holiday. I went to see them at 11:00, an hour after they are supposed to open to find a sign on the door saying that they would be closed until 12:00. I went and grabbed lunch and came back at 12:00 and there is the same sign saying the same thing. After waiting 30 minutes outside I gave up. I have called this place seven time and never received an answer. At this point it seems as though I may never get my boots back. If you are looking for a place to repair your boots, PLEASE find somewhere else. As for the people that state Harry's does good work, I would contest that it doesn't matter how good a job you do if you can not be relied upon to be open or have the work done. read more

Service provided was exceptional took in a pair of boots for new soles. Explained to me why original soles failed inferior foreign material. They had disintegrated. Replaced with high quality American made material. When picked up repaired boots owner took time to explain repair and show the difference. Boots in better condition than when new. This is an excellent business. I took a pair of shoes in for new heels, and after an additional shine, they look like they just came out of the box. The turnaround on having this done was incredibly fast, and the workmanship is superb. I'd been looking for someone to repair my beautiful leather Coach purse strap. The leather had been braided down the center of the wide shoulder strap with heavy brass buckles. Anyway, I was so worried it couldn't be fixed so imagine my delight when I picked it up and it looked like new! My shoes were supposed to be ready on Wednesday, so I go by there and he's closed for lunch until 2. I head back to work thinking I'll just stop by Thursday during lunch to pick them up. Yet again, I go by the store and this time he says the shoes are not ready, but he will have them ready after 3. Seeing as I don't want to make yet ANOTHER trip out to McKinney on the same day I figure I can just stop by on Friday during lunch. Well, today I go by and the sign says OPEN, but when I get to the door (because you have to park at least a block away as there's rarely parking on the street in front of the store) there is a sign that says "Back at 1:30." Are you kidding me? My shoes have now spent over a week and a half at this place. Given the time traveling back and forth between work and the shop, the gas money, and the money I spent for shoe repair, I could've have just bought a brand new pair! Unless you enjoy making multiple trips to see if your shoes are ready, because they won't be ready on the day promised, I suggest finding another shoe repair place. read more

Extremely disappointed with this shop, he is never open. The shop next door said this happens all the time. He has had my husband very expensive boots since early November and we can't get them back.
