I picked spinach, arugula, mushrooms, and their house made queso blanco. It came with a few yummy French-fry-style roasted potatoes and one of their famous dinner rolls, which was multigrain and very hearty. Not cutting edge but all well-made and tasty. The bakery items looked amazing but I was full! So I got a piece of their carrot cake, which other customers were raving about, as well as a vegan gluten-free sunbutter cookie. I very much appreciate that they have outdoor seating! They happen to be very close to a smoke shop, so eating outside they just were a lot of people vaping or smoking as they passed. It's also a particularly hectic corner with people going to the theater or for music show. But I am planning to come back while I'm here and to try something else!

For me it's home cooking style, comfort food.. they have their own style. This place was around before everyone was freaking out about carbs.. thank god! I never leave without a cookie and a muffin for later.. they're the best! I recently got hooked on the Sunbuttter cookie, and also enjoy the Lithuanian coffee cake muffin. Soups and salads come with the classic Claire mini loaf! A delicious buttery(is it vegan? don't know) mini loaf of bread, just as tasty as I remember it from my childhood. Their oat milk Matcha Lattes are creamy and they don't slack on the matcha. The service is always friendly and helpful. Luckily I went to their website and found out where their current location is (I also updated the business page so hopefully the new address shows) I had not been to the old location so I cannot speak to it but we were a bit confused when we arrived as there was no sign on the awing of the building. My friend had told me that new location was next to Ricotta Bakery so we went in to ask. We were told that we ordered there and the food would be brought to us next door. Of note you can also order from the Ricotta menu which has bakery and non sushi items We ordered and went to wait for our food which was sent out through a pass through for pick up. The space is large but the decor is very sparce . That being said the food was the star of the show. All of the rolls we order (and we ordered several) were fresh and tasty. We left with full bellies which we doesn't always happen when we go for sushi. So don't let the lack of signage and space decor deter you - it's a great place to visit.

As at all Ben's Deli's, you always start with a deep bowl of pickles and a boat of tasty cole slaw (don't be shy if you want a refill). The soup of the day is Chicken a la Reine, which is basically cream of chicken and I love all creamy soups. It comes in a large, wide bowl, but I miss having saltine crackers in my soup. My wife orders the Rachel Panini with pastrami on rye and 2 Ultimate Paninis, one with pastrami & corned beef for me and pastrami & brisket for my son. All the sandwiches are toasted on the panini press and come with a choice of potatoes as a side and Russian dressing.
