Don't bring your bike here. Dishonest. Told me $50 for them to haul my bike in because he lives nearby and has to go anyway. Then jumped it up to $150 to bring it back? I had just had my handlebars and a new screaming eagle clutch put in by Harley less than two months prior. Then they call me on the phone saying I needed that stuff done. They will try to add anything for extra work if you're not careful. Then he told me after the Dyno, that I should probably sell my bike or get a new engine when I only need a new oil pump. Just beware. I would not recommend them to anyone. Is it that hard to find an honest mechanic these days? I am taking suggestions. I went to this shop yesterday June 16th. 2023. I brought my 1999 Dyna Wide glide for a price on two Metzler 880 model tires. Well this clown in the workshop counter tells me its $1000 (500 a tire) I couldn't believe it. Then he proceeds to tell me if I've heard of something called inflation. I walked away at that point before I smack the shit out this asshole! This prick didn't even give me common courtesy to walk out & look at my bike & go over some other things. STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM THIS BUFFOON ! I'M having both tires done & brakes in Vacaville for 1/3 of this rip offs price in Vallejo. Buyer beware. Bad boy attitude should be checked at the door when running a business. Listen more and talk less. Your inner child needs to be checked. Before you send quotes via email, you should make sure the quote is correct the first time. Not the 3rd time, and when you do emails, please turn off your caps that's very unprofessional. When a customer prefers a certain brand, don't try to shove your brand down their throat and say that you will not honor the warranty. You could have purchased the same product for the customer, but no, you wanted to argue. Threatening to keep a motorcycle even when we offered to pay for what was done then getting irate telling us you ordered the parts when you told us a day before that you needed a deposit before you would order. Your conversations are very unprofessional. You are not the only game in town. Hopefully, you will learn and grow from your mistakes. When a customer is willing to pay you for what you have done so far, don't threaten to keep their bike because you made a wrong decision and did not communicate properly with your tech. read more

Needed a local shop to work on my Beast. He had been down for 2 months and I was going through serious riding withdrawals. I knew he needed a stator and rear brakes, had a feeling he might need a few other things. After receiving several recommendations I took him in to Ride On. Dropped him off Wednesday afternoon, just before closing and was back on the road Friday 5 pm!!! They communicate well and kept in the loop every step of the way. They took care of my stator, front & rear brakes, a new tire, and a clutch issue. They even returned him to me cleaner than He's been in a long time :-) I felt the prices to be reasonably competitive over all. Looks like I found my new go-to shop! read more

I purchased my bike from Ride On back in April. I still have not received my registration or plates. Upon contacting DMV they said the dealership waited the full 90 days to put the registration in and the plates may have been delivered to them instead of me. I have called everyday for two weeks and no one answers their phones here. I have heard a TON of horror stories come out of this dealership. When I first purchased my bike I was guaranteed new oil and spark plugs. After riding the bike, I took it apart to find the oil was black, the chain was black from grime and the spark plugs where charred. The Air Filter was also black. All These guys do is get a bike, clean it and put it out for sale without any prior investigation into the motorcycle. I highly recommend you purchase somewhere else. This dealership is EXTREMELY shady. The will offer no warranty and always sale as is because of their under handed sales. You will also not be able to contact them afterwards unless you head back to the dealership and then the manager is always "out of town" or "out of the office". Please save yourself a headache! Craigslist is better than this place! read more

Prices are reasonable. They are a bit disorganized, twice i was told to drop of bike for discussed repairs/and did....each time i called about a week later when it was supposed to be Done.. (they WONT call you) both times they seemed kinda oblivious to why it was even in there shop? as long as you dont want it done Fast..or even right the first time...If you factor in there Cost to you, they do tend to beat other bike shops hands down. and generaly ok guys too. good luck. read more

Brought in my Suzuki SV1000s in to have a custom Speigler Handel bar riser kit and new break lines installed. The job was done perfectly. They also special ordered bar end vibration dampners because the bars I requested were a slightly odd size. I will definitely continue to do business here. read more

I needed to get my bike dinoed so I brought it here. The owner, Mike, did the work. It's a nice set up they have. You do not go into the dino room, instead you sit at a table and you are able to see the technician on one monitor and on another monitor you can see the mapping as it is being done. I ended up having to have my clutch changed and I also had them order and install led lights. The group of guys there are all fun to talk with while also being very professional. They even have a guy that does a quick detail on your ride after the mechanics finish your job. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that needs work done on their bike and does not trust the dealership or what ever shop they use now. P.s. --First, a caveat. I had some leverage because I showed I was able to--and did--buy the bike 100% cash that day. SO if you are going there to do some kinda payment plan/trade-in, I wouldn't know if you will have the same smooth experience I had. But i wouldn't be surprised if it was just as good as my experience with the shop. These guys have a "don't waste our time and we wont mess with you" vibe. Come in knowing what you want, able to pay for what you want, and it'll be all peachy!-- Got my first "big boy" highway capable cruiser learner from here a couple of months ago after I saw an ad on Craigslist . The main salesman (I think his name was Steve) really worked with me to arrive at a reasonable price (However, I kinda get the feeling that if I didn't know the real value of the bike+some buying tricks "I want this price out the door. no extra for reg and title!" the price tag would've been firmer. I got the temp reg that day, and the license plate, registration with the title all within the first month of owning the bike!( from what I see on here about other shops, THAT seems to be a major problem with buying a bike from a dealer, but not here!) I've ridden the bike: a 1998 750 Honda Shadow, EVERY Day at Highway and City at least 20 miles a day and no problems with it AT ALL (solid Honda manufacturing and one good previous owner might have something to do with it). Plus, the cool old shop dog played nice with my toddler nephew. All in all, great experience! I will definitely go again when i want to trade-in for something with a little more power later! read more

Great attitude from all the guys. To start they really try to get to know u and your bike without any pressure and solid advise. They did rocker box gaskets replace and oil change great. Also did powervison tune for the Vance and Hines exhaust they made all the differrence in the world. Now it's how it should sound and run will always take to this shop from now on, extremely happy. I'm conflicted on this review. The folks who work here are nice enough, generally straight forward no bullshit folks. They have a decent selection of used bikes, mostly Harleys but a few metrics and some sport bikes. Prices are relatively reasonable too, most things here are under $4k. So far so good, where they fall down is on the details. I've bought 2 bikes from them. The first time it took over 3 months to get my license plate, Steve (the owner) openly admitted because he hadn't submitted the paperwork promptly. Apparently he just sort of saves it up until there's enough to bother going into the DMV. I can't blame him honestly, I hate the DMV as much as the next guy I got the impression he feels like he's doing his customers a favor by delaying it since without a license plate you don't have to worry about traffic or bridge toll cameras, though he didn't say so overtly. Currently (2 months in) I'm still waiting on the plate for my second bike. So that's the dealer side of the house. It's the best place for a used bike in town. It's also the only place to buy used bikes so there's that. As a repair shop I'm less impressed. After a couple months on the Honda I bought from them, the engine started dying on me as soon as I gave it gas. I had RideOn pick it up for me and take a look. They kept it for 2 weeks and said they couldn't find anything wrong with it and it was running beautifully... but when I came in and picked it up they couldn't get it to run to bring it out to me. So basically they'd started it and watched it idle but not actually given it any gas because if they had the problem would have been obvious. They said they thought it was 'a bad tank of gas', drained the tank, and charged me $150. With new gas and some additive I was able to get home but next time I went to start it same movie all over again. So basically I paid $150 to have them sit on it for two weeks. Not awesome. I took it to another mechanic and they quickly determined that the carbs needed cleaning. It was an easy fix and was accomplished in an hour of work. That said, their main mechanic for metric cruisers was out of commission at the time (broke his leg test driving a bike apparently) so your results may vary. read more

The first time I I stopped by ride - on Was about 2 months ago . I was driving home from work in my (work van ) when I noticed a ducti 1000 DS sitting in the window . I stopped out in front of the shop , walked in and walked by someone sitting at a desk who was talking on the phone , I walked over to the bike and was admiring the beutiful but way overpriced DS Patiently waiting for someone to acknowledge me.. After about 5 min. Of standing there and no one helping me , I guess if you don't ride a P.O.S. Harley these guys don't take a potential buyer serious . I walked by the guy on the phone and proceeded to the exit door and again no acknowledgment from the guy on the phone . About a month later I was riding my ducati monster down Sonoma blvd. and noticed the same ducati DS still sitting in the window at ride- on , I decided to stop in again and figured since I pulled up on a bike that maybe they would realize that I could be a potential buyer. But again no one except the bike washer acknowledge I was there ! I don't get it ? I told the bike washer about my interest in the DS and he went to the back office to get the salesman / manager / owner someone to assist me . aftet a few minutes of standing there someone from the back came out and again ignored me ! And jumped back on the phone . no wonder why your ducati DS is still sitting there. This place is a joke ! You would think that in a city that just filed bankruptcy, and very few customers they really get ! That they would be excited about new customers REGARDLESS of what you ride . If you ride japanese go to mach one motorsports and if you ride European go to ace motorsports . Don't waste your time at ride-on. read more

Gave a rating on this joint once before but it is not currently posted. In short this place sucks when it comes to service. Had handlebars installed at a cost of $800 it took nearly two months to get the job completed, was given nothing but excuses. When completed it wasn't even done correctly. Left some parts to be put on consignment, at 50% spilt. After approx. 4 months nothing was sold. Tried to get parts back and it took me four return attempts to get my items back, they couldn't find them. As of yet have not gotten back my old handlebars was told they didn't have time to look for them, they were too busy. Bullshit, they are not that busy there are never any customers around. Customers don't seem to be their priority after a transaction. The guy that runs the counter is clueless don't ask him for help.This place is a joke, be warned. read more

Horrible service and may have broken my bike. VERY long story short, these guys have no idea what they are doing. i should have paid for Harley. Bought two sets of handlebars ordered, neither worked but they charged me fr two tear downs? Figure that one out. next, they had my bike so long, my brand new battery died and they wanted me to pay for it. When i said my bike would have been hooked to my battery tender and wouldnt have died, he took pity then talked of charging me for time/gas to get a new battery. To top off my experience, they said my bike was a quart low even though i told him it was just changed, they added conventional oil to my synthetic. When i got my bike home, it was a quart over full (praying its not damaged). When i drained the court, its black and smells. This place is ALL BAD. Save more money for any repair and bring your bike to a Reputable shop!!! read more

I will not return and will advise others to not even give it a try. Steve has MUCH to learn about the concept of customer service. A few items from my recent visit: 1 - Spent over $800 on tires (and other things) for 2 bikes and on both bikes, the balancing weights fell off and I found them on the floor of my garage. When I called Steve to ask what we should do about this, I was told, "just stick them back on". Really? That's the answer? Either the spot they were stuck on was not cleaned first or the weights are shitty. Either way, as a shop owner who cared about repeat business, he should have offered to resolve it. 2 - While I was waiting on repairs, I spoke to Steve about possibly selling one of my bikes. He pulled out his Blue Book and launched into his speech about why he could only pay way below market, blah, blah, blah. Steve has a used car salesman mentality and talking to him makes me feel like I need a shower when done! 3 - Their credit card machine has a tip line like a restraurant. When I didn't leave a tip, he yelled back to the Mechanic, "hey, what do we do to people that don't tip?". This is about as unprofessional as it gets. Tacky and disrespectful to try and bully/shame good paying customers into leaving a tip. Then I was told that it was a mistake that the credit card company made that this was added. IF THIS IS TRUE, why try to capitolize on it? Why not have it removed? Why....Because that's the kind sleaze Steve presents himself as. Can't see past the dollar in his face to try to set up service for life. There are other items to list, but this makes the point. Steve is slimy and I will never return for any reason. He was sleazy at the Harley dealership before it closed and has taken that mentality to his own shop. From his actions, he shows that he only cares about taking your money and then kicking you out the back door. Don't waste your time. read more

I have bought 3 bikes from Ride-on over the last 2 years, all of them used metric bikes. They have some beautiful used Harleys and maybe I'll pick up one of those when some extra money comes in. Steve is a good salesman and will do what it takes to make a fair sale. Not looking to rip anyone off. He also really listens to what a person might be looking for to attempt to fit them with the bike they would be happiest with. He is not a mechanic and definitely will not describe himself as such. I have seen him develop his business over the last couple years. He has become better at communicating and working with clients. There are always growing pains when you start your own business and I believe he has been coming into his own. They have been hiring more employees too. They are able to work on US-made bikes in-house, but need to send metric bikes out to a contracted mechanic they have a relationship with. Last I took my metric bike in for maintenance he said it would take a week. They actually had my bike back to me within 4 days. Take the older reviews with more than a few grains of salt. read more

I moved up the Bay Area for a job promotion and at the time I was riding my stunted out Kawasaki 636. Well after countless hassling from authorities my buddy told me to ride his bike. It was a harley road glide. I instantly loved it and went out to Walnut Creek to buy a 2013 road glide. After a few years I decided to move back to SoCal. With that in mind I don't trust any other shop to work on my bike so I'll do trips from Santa Clarita CA to this shop. I have built it over the years. Thunder header exhaust, intake, 107 big bore kit and they always take great care of my bike and I. Never had any issues and work is grade A quality. I would recommend this shop hands down to anyone. They also mount and install tires but don't include doing valve stems?!? Also they charge for a mount and balance. They don't tell you until after you pay that they weren't able to balance the tires because of their machine?? Does that make any sense? Steve, literally has zero customer service skills. I would give this bike shop. There has been a change in reorganization in ownership recently, and with it the customer service increased greatly. Steve has always been friendly and knowledgeable about his bikes. I like how he is completely honest about each bike that he has on the floor, and he will give you the best advise of what kind of bike will suit every driving level (novice to advanced). He will also tell you the best way to take care of your bike and not try to upsell stuff you do not need!! As part of his exemplary customer service,I bought a 650 cc KLR from them, and I decided that it was not the bike for me, they gave me a great trade in value for a Honda Magna!! Thanks, Steve! I realize there are some mixed reviews here, but I can only speak for my recent purchase: I bought a used V-Strom in great condition at Ride On from Steve, the owner. Everything went smoothly, except for my bank, which for technical reasons was temporarily unable to raise my debit card limit. After talking to Steve for a while he said I could write a personal check (my card finally ended up working, however). There were no surprises with the final pricing or fees. They threw in a brand new front tire, when I asked if that could be part of the deal. It was installed quickly as soon as it came in. I can't speak for whatever service they did, but there was fresh oil in the bike (though a V-Strom with the mileage it has on it doesn't require much). All in all I had no complaints and I would buy another bike from them. Got my plates and title promptly. read more

I was referred to Steve (aka Hollywood) through Berkeley Yamaha and McGuire HD in Walnut Creek. I had two bikes, one an R1 and the other a Sporty to sell. Complete opposite ends of the spectrum. I was concerned that it would be hard to sell both bikes out of the same shop, but that was not the case. After talking with Steve and emailing back and forth we agreed on a reasonable price. He then said he would pick up the bikes from my place in Oakland and take them to his shop in Vallejo. So on a SUNDAY he drove all the way from Vallejo to Oakland. We read over the docs (fully disclosing all required maintenance fees) and I signed the papers. He loaded the bikes up and off he went. Needless to say, I was a little freaked out that he was driving off with both my bikes. That fear was quickly gone. He called me to state the bikes were at his shop and that the Sporty needed a new tire (which is something I was aware of, but he also noticed on his inspection of the bike). I agreed to the cost and it was quickly installed. Both bikes were up on the web site in about a week. The Sporty sold first, in a little over 30 days. Not bad for Christmas time. The R1 had an issue with the title (it was still from Texas). Steve drove back to my house and gave me the title. I then completed the wait in line dance at the DMV and a few weeks later received the new title. The R1 was already sold by the time I got the new title. Once I gave Steve the title it was out the door and a week later I had a check in my hand. Also, when the Sporty sold, Steve had already had the check in the mailbox but I decided to go get it myself. He waited for me at closing time and I picked it up. Both times I picked up checks, he went over the final invoice and reviewed the fees to make sure I was clear on the final take home amount. Steve was always responsive to my texts, emails and phone calls. Though he'd be the first to tell you he isn't a tech guy and would prefer you'd call him. He did a great job selling my bikes. It was so much easier than trying to deal with Craig's List and strangers at my door. I was initially going to give him 4 stars but there really wasn't any problems. Come on the guy came to my house twice. Once on a Sunday. Now that's service. read more

The first thing Steve told me when I told him I was going to write a Yelp review, "I don't care." They lie, don't stand behind the bikes they sell, and sell unsafe bikes. Stay clear! I was told me bike was inspected by their mechanic and was safe. When the bike started to back fire, I took it to a different repair shop. There is a major oil leak, the fork seals are leaking (I was told they were new), the engine is loosing compression. The shop didn't even want to job to repair it because it would be more than a replacement bike. I will never trust or use this shop. Stay away from the mechanics, I don't know where they got their training. read more

Bough a used HD from them to which they claim has been worked on by them to be certified as road worthy but the engine would not start after a day, I brought it back to be looked at and I got charged 160 just for diagnostics, it then took almost a month of me checking every few weeks to check on the status, I finally got my motorcycle back and had to pay $300 for carb cleanup, so much for certifying to be road worthy used bikes. Live and Learn, save your money and go to a better reputable dealership to buy used bikes and or have your bike repaired, otherwise it is a Russian roulete with these small shops... read more

The shop consist of two gentlemen. One a friendly guy who is the bigger of the two. The second gentleman has a more petite frame and is the issue. I placed my bike there on consignment with the petite fellow with an agreement of 60 days. He went on about waiving diagnostic fees and so forth. I was fine paying for it as I just wanted the bike sold. During the process, he was snappish and completely rude but, I did not lose sight of what I wanted and went along with his nastiness. He later stated that he had just got back from a long ride and had a death in the family. I get it but that is no excuse for the lack of professionalism or minimally decency. I signed the contract with him stating that he would call me within a few days and let me know what repairs would be needed. I was cool with that. Due to his terrible attitude I really didn't want to call so I waited for him to call like he said. I waited some more; and more......you get the point. After 33 days I decided to call. I spoke with the same gentleman, and he said "oh....I was just looking at your paperwork. I have the items that need to be fixed. Can I call you back later today?" Sounds reasonable right? I waited and waited and waited........same thing, no return call. Over the course, I checked the website to see if the bike was posted. No pics, no coming soon......nada. I simply resigned and just rode the contract out as I try to keep my word. The day came to pick up the bike (today). I went in and the same gentleman looked at me with confusion. I stated that I was there to pick up my bike and he hesitantly asked me what kind of bike I had. It had been awhile, no worries. He then told me that my bike wouldn't start and that there was an oil leak and the brake light didn't work. I was immediately taken aback as I just got the oil leak fixed prior to bringing it to him. Observed the fix for a week with no signs of a leak. The bike started just fine when I brought it in and when I stated the fact he got agitated and said, "did you get dropped off here?" I told him that I did and he did offer to give me a ride home. I asked how much it would cost to fix and he gave me a price, reasonable in fact. I was just so disgusted that I did not want to give them any of my money. I asked if the bike could be jump started and he said that since it had been sitting so long that he didn't think it would work. Meaning, he didn't try. I told him that I just wanted to take my bike. he said, where are you going to take it? how are you going to get home? you should leave it here." This first sign of decency only after he realized that I didn't want to pay for some bogus service. Oddly enough, I tried the brake light in his presence and it worked just fine. He gave me a look like he never said it didn't work. I told him that I would prefer to simply remove my bike from the property. he advised against. I told him that I was just frustrated that he didn't call me 30 days ago like he stated. Had he called we could have addressed the issues that he claimed existed and we (I) wouldn't have been in the predicament. He snapped back, "HEY, DON'T GET PISSED WITH ME CAUSE YOU HAVE A MESSED UP BIKE" Just wow, I reiterated that I would have appreciated it if had keep his word and called me 30 days ago. He reluctantly opened the bay door and I was off. He said as I walked past him, " Remember, I didn't charge you for all of the work I did" What work? This was a totally unprofessional waste of every ones time. I was not opposed to the fees that was quoted, I was not even trying to disagree with his assessment. I was willing to pay for services. What I couldn't accept was an unreasonable person who places blame on the customer for his deficiencies. I actually wish that this shop would do well as the city could use the positive.
