I'm giving powersports and myself one star. This is the third time I've brought a tire to be installed on my bike. I pulled the wheel off myself and dropped it off. My problem is when I picked up my wheel I had my bike on the jack and after everything was done i rolled the bike backwards and thought man did I forget something and put the wheel on wrong? It's like there no tire pressure. Stupid me even rode it but was very careful on turns. When I got home I checked the tire pressure and it didn't register a reading. I blame the shop for overlooking something that could have been very dangerous and I blame myself for assuming they did everything as they done before. This is a lesson for me and hopefully they don't take it lightly. read more

Needed fork seals in a pinch for my Buell, and after calling around, and even visiting one other spot, I found these guys. I forget the name of the person that helped me on the phone, but he was very helpful. He told me they didn't support Buells there, but worked with me to find the correct seal for my OEM Japanese Showa forks. Give him the dimensions, and they have the seals in stock! I had a problem with a previously owned Scrambler 500 and a blown CV joint. Apparently that part was in very few Polaris models and it was nearly impossible to find online. Beau at the parts desk was beyond helpful. It took him a bit of digging through the parts catalogue and Polaris's website, but he found me the right CV joint. Rating is for sales. I went to cycle gear for my gear as their gear was more entry level and although I am entry level wanted to spend more money on, hopefully, safer/better gear Samantha is nothing short of awesome. From answering questions on the phone to helping me pick out my first bike. She made the process super smooth and easy and helped me pick out my first bike. She went over the differences and helped me choose between a ninja and a Yamaha. Not having my license at the time she even offered to deliver the bike which she did. Way cool. And afterwards, answered all my annoying texts including helping me pick my next bike as it is time. If only she sold Ducati's! But if I do upgrade within the Kawasaki or other brands she carries I will be getting it there. Also had my first service there and they were nice. Seemed expensive but I am basing that on nothing as I have no clue what that normally costs anyways. ONLY con in sales is no test drives thanks to some yahoos. Vallejo?? Vallejo is a city far from me and is not anywhere I normally go to for any reason. So choosing a dealer in Vallejo just wasn't an option I considered. I called dealers all the way down to SoCal and I would have been fine driving down there from the bay area for the right deal. I tried all the dealers close to me, and all the dealers within a couple of hours of me. But still, I didn't give Powersports of Vallejo a thought. Of the 8 to 10 dealers I contacted through their website, 3 or 4 contacted me. Then enters Kevan at P.o.V. When I spoke to Kevan, he was totally down to earth and not smarmy. He gave me a quote that was basically the same as all the others I received, except for those that were over $10,000 (for a KLR). We settled on the price... then arranged financing. My credit union could not meet the terms of the sale, so I ended having to apply for financing at the dealer at 4pm on a Friday. I was approved at the dealer for the same rate I got at the CU, but without all the hoops to jumps through. We made the appointment to pick up the bike... I met with Bret since Kevan left for vacation. The paperwork went perfectly, as did the delivery of the bike. It was a no-nonsense transaction that is so missing from purchasing automobiles and motorcycles these days. As to whether I got a good deal, I really can't say, as they were basically the same price as most other dealers. But their down to earth demeanor and chill attitude is what sold me on them. Called for a quote to have a tire changed. Wheel was off the bike. Quoted around $50. By the time I got out of there it was close to $80. When I asked the rude parts guy about the $10 shop fee, he told me to call the manager on Tuesday.... Oh, and they mounted the tire backwards. Fortunately I found that out before I left. In all fairness, the mechanic that worked on the wheel was very nice and apologetic. He remounted the tire immediately. I am NOT including the mechanic in the low rating. The low star rating is for the dealership as a whole and the rude parts guy who gave me a bogus quote over the phone. I will never do any business with this dealership again. read more

First, I admire any small business owner for their ability to go out and do something big. I work in Business Marketing and know the importance of keeping a customer happy, and understand it is easier and cheaper to keep a current customer happy than to go out and get a whole new one. I was pleasantly surprised by Powersports of Vallejo when I wanted to buy a motorcycle. The sales guy, I think it was Justin, was great. No pressure, willing to walk me through everything step by step, explaining the differences and working within my budget. He did make me a great deal on a bike, but I found even a better one through a private party, so I passed on this deal, but I did bring it to them for service. After I bought the bike, I wanted to support them, even though I new I would be paying more than if I went to Cycle Gear. Mike was great, fitted me with a jacket, gloves and helmet. Since, I've returned to purchase a few other nick-nacks from them as well. I brought the bike for a check-up and they did an excellent job in ensuring that it is safe to ride. Here is my problem with Powersports of Vallejo. As a small business, one that is facing increased competition from chain stores like OTD Motorsports, and a slowing economy, they did not make me a loyal customer. They should have offered some sort of parts discount, made some effort to work around my work schedule like late dropoff or provide a ride back to my house after dropping off my bike. I ended up having to take a half day off work to patronize their business, which I will not do in the future. I would always be happy to pay more for better and more convenient service, and feel like I gave them many chances to keep my business, but I think for me, it'll be online or Cycle Gear for my future purchases. read more

So i recently bought two new dirtbikes from this place and the staff is super friendly and they make you feel like a regular when you go in there calling you by name if they know it......... Salesmen "Mike" is really cool laid back and was very easy to deal with he didnt make me wait in a chair while he took phone calls or any of that Bs i get normally at a dealership....... The only con i can see is the retaill prices, where pretty much higher then all the other places i looked however they were able to get me a really go deal on a loan so i went with them anyways ..... Also even though there prices where a little higher they had in stock what i wanted which made it easyer too.... If your going to pay in cash for the bike you can probably find a better deal but if your going to take a loan on the bike and or looking for very good service i recommend these guys no doubt...... read more

I bought my 2016 Concours on 2-2-2017 At Power Sports In Vallejo. My biggest concern about buying the bike was the condition of the clear coat. When bikes sit for a while in most dealerships they end up getting whipped off over and over with micro fiber clothes. Microfiber are made of polyester which is the same hardness as a clear coat. Microfibers put swirl marks in the finish. The next time you go look at brand new vehicles take out your cellular phone and turn on your flashlight. Look at the reflection of your light in the finish of the vehicle and look for the swirl marks from being wiped by micro fiber rags. I asked Mike to not let anyone wipe the motorcycle at all during transportation or at the shop. Mike also gave me a very fare price on the bike. The buying process was by far the easiest and very straightforward. There was zero BS. Mike is in his 35th year of selling and riding motorcycles. He called me when my bike was inbound for his dealership. I received another contact when it arrived. When I got to the shop the bike was parked at their rear door. We did a walk around and went through the motorcycles controls. I was given the Concours with a full tank of 91 octane gasoline. The Concours had zero swirl marks in the finish. It was dusty which was a good sign for me also verifying it was never wiped. I always wash a vehicle before wiping and never wipe a finish when dry and dusty. Dust under a microscope is a tiny jagged rock ready to gouge your clear coat. I only use 100% soft cotton. I never use a paste wax as the applicator also ands swirl marks to the clear coat. I only use Wax As U Dry and a 100% cotton bath towel following the instructions in the spray bottle. I have a 17 year old ZX-12r and it has no swirl marks. I highly recommend Mike as the salesmen to see at Vallejo Kawasaki Power Sports. Mike took my concerns seriously. Power Sports of Vallejo a very good service department. This was my first experience buying a bad ass used 2013 Suzuki Boulevard S40 from this shop and had a really, really positive and low pressure experience with Samantha. When we inquired about their Craigslist posting a few days before we came in to see it in person, Samantha was prompt to call us back and give us all the information we needed about the bike and exactly how much it would cost out the door. 10-23-18. I wrote a previous review for some other service I had done, but wanted to update/ add another based on my service today. I have a 2018 Suzuki GSX-S 750 that I wanted to get new tires for. I shopped around, and decided to go back to Powersports of Vallejo based on previous experience. And once again it was great. I got a quote, set up a time and went there today. They went out of their way to get things right, even sending one of the techs to another local shop to get the tire I needed. Not many places will do that. Anyway I waited around while they worked on it, browsed what might be my next bike. And when they were done I was good to go. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and great overall service. First off, come here if you are fine paying MSRP. They will not negotiate and will let you walk out, they feel the next person through the door will pay the MSRP and it must be working for them. I walked out the first time, they called, said they can get me the payments I want and asked them about Costco pricing. They gave me Costco pricing but when I decided I wanted to trade in my bike to use for down payment, things changed. First they seemed fine with it and they were aware it was registered out of state before today. BUT it wasn't UNTIL I rode all the way down there this (03/16/13) morning it was a different story. It seemed to me they could care less that I was there to buy a bike. I was already qualified and just needed to sign and ride away! With that said, they made every effort not to take my trade in by making all kinds of excuses and seemed satisfied that a potentially good customer was going to walk out. Too bad, because I love buying goodies for my bikes. I would have spent some $$$ on that but oh well. I have a sneaky feeling they had someone else on the hook for the same bike and were praying I would back out..LOL..Seriously that is how I feel. No I wasn't trading in a POS motorcycle either. I had enough wasting of my time, so I walked out, rode to the next dealer who was willing to make a fair deal deal and got a great bike. They also gave me blue book (trade in) for my bike. HINT: If you are looking for a Kawasaki, look at Costcos Auto Program and register. Powersports of Vallejo is registered dealer with Costcos and you can get a really good deal. The dealer does not to like offering Costco pricing, it's basically MSRP out the door and that is including tax with no Freight & Setup fees. If you use this program and I hope you do, they will give you nothing for your trade, sell it yourself. I will never step foot in this place again. I will not let my friend have her Suzuki serviced here even though it would be easier for her to do so. I'd rather brave the Sacramento traffic or go to Concord. read more
