was recommended here in 2023 as I Personally deal with Multiple sclerosis and I was looking for something to help me mentally and physically. That is when I met Dr. Korn who is the most gentle lady but also very sharp I couldn't believe she was in her 80's I then learned more from her about mission. Needless to say I've been now volunteering for over a year. I've never met such selfless people who are actually around to just help. As far as the Boarding goes the property has had a full remodel, and the horses at the property love it. I'm also new to the horse culture and wasn't aware of how Clicky it was and was honestly surprised how easily influenced adults in there 50, 60's could be. I've now been to quite a few barns and I would say with the amenities R2W sits at the top of the list. If you are at all interested in Boarding or have a child or adult who you feel can benefit from the services offered please come take a tour. unfortunately Ride to walk has been dealing with a disgruntled Ranch hand who refused to leave the property after finally being legally removed this is now his resort to try and further hurt the business by discouraging potential patrons. read more

This nonprofit is not what it claims to be, and the deception runs deep. Despite the carefully crafted image presented on their website, the reality of this facility is far worse than what the photos suggest. The images on their site are not from the actual location and are used purely to mislead. It's a deliberate effort to paint a false picture and hide the deteriorating conditions and mismanagement on the ground. They also claim there has been a change in leadership, but that is completely untrue. It's the same people behind the scenes, just under different labels. There is no real accountability, no transparency, and no meaningful change. Even worse, they've fabricated ownership claims, including a false narrative about Sarah Firpo buying the property, which simply isn't factual. This is just another example of how far they're willing to go to deceive the public and donors. The problems don't stop there--the positive reviews you'll find online are not real. Many of them are bought, staged, or written by close associates of the organization. They're carefully constructed to drown out legitimate criticism and give the false appearance of trustworthiness. Meanwhile, they continue to surround themselves with people who exhibit erratic, unsafe, and at times deeply concerning behavior. Rather than improve, they resort to attacking others' reputations, lying to people's faces, and manipulating those around them. Do your homework. Talk to people who've actually been there. Look past the staged photos and fake praise. If you're thinking about supporting or referring someone to this organization--don't. There are far better, safer, and more honest nonprofits out there. read more

I was a volunteer at Ride to Walk. I contributed my time in many ways. I donated money, bought supplies, I donated a lot of time in the office and in the RTW arena because I thought it was a good organization. I was wrong. I saw the management be very unfair to many of the tenants that paid to have their horses stabled there. While I was there, I began to see that this is not a stable whose management puts their tenant's and their horse's needs at a priority. Tenants that have concerns are ignored and if there is a complaint the management will give tenants a notice to leave. They will be glad to take your money, time and efforts and when you try to communicate your opinions they will cut you off. My opinion of the people running the place is not star worthy. read more

Lately, the Yelp reviews are far more truthful than the people who work at this nonprofit. My experience with this organization, led by Dr. Kris, has been nothing short of disappointing, and I feel compelled to share my concerns. There is a troubling lack of transparency and accountability within this organization. Despite their frequent pleas for donations, it's unclear how funds are actually being used. Those who try to offer help or support are often met with resistance and manipulation, especially if they begin questioning the nonprofit's practices. Dr. Kris, the founder, portrays herself as an innocent figure, but many people--former board members included--have left the organization because of her dishonest and unethical behavior. Her actions have tarnished the reputation of this nonprofit over the years, leaving behind a legacy of distrust and frustration among those who have tried to help. The lack of organization, coupled with unethical practices, extends to their staff and trainers. It's concerning to see the lack of professionalism and integrity when it comes to the people who are supposed to be leading therapeutic horseback riding programs. If anyone out there knows how to report this nonprofit to the appropriate authorities or "Non-Profit police," please do us--and the many other legitimate nonprofits--a favor and take action. Organizations like this are damaging the reputation of all nonprofits that are working hard to maintain their mission and hold themselves accountable. It's time for this kind of behavior to be addressed. For anyone considering supporting this organization, I urge you to look beyond the surface. There are many other nonprofits and therapeutic programs that genuinely prioritize their mission and the well-being of the animals and people involved. Ride To Walk provides horse riding therapy for people (mostly children) with disabilities. Dr. Corn is the founder and director who has dedicated her life to helping her clients improve their mobility, strength, confidence and independence. This program really helps people. Promises promises promises never any follow through... just a bunch of thumbs up e Don't complain about getting your horses stalls fixed..... 8 mos later still not fixed. Then it's the inconsistencies: Who's feeding, who knows what they are doing when filling into feed... water troughs are to be cleaned once a week-not happening, water troughs in the pasture have no water half the time... No one checks when putting horses out to pasture time...BUT they are trained to do so. Floaters not being replaced for months until someone complains...I bought the floaters and they said they are now fixed to return them and get my money back...it takes this to get them fixed. All 3 of my horses have lost weight due to what they think your horses need for feed. To top it off they raised the board fee by $150 starting August 1, 2023 and said they will no longer do blanketing in the winter and no fly mask in the summer. So let's raise the board fee with less services and inconsistencies - outrageous!!! read more

My last review was removed because they thought I had some personal or business relationship. That is not the case. Simply a potential boarder who did my research and due diligence after visiting the property a few times with other boarders. What I saw and heard was a lack of professionalism and lack of general knowledge it takes to run a large boarding facility. Not to mention the broken fences and hazards all over the property. My research showed the non-profit on the property has no transparency and does not provide access to financial reporting that should be available to the public. read more

Please read this in entirety. I can't post this review without a rating - I give it a -10. Horse Owners Beware! For parents looking into the RTW program, do your research as there are other programs in the area to support your children. Horse owners - I moved to RTW for the lifestyle it provided my horse & the riding options for me. I spent hundreds of dollars improving my paddock so my horse's feet would stay healthy. As they say ...looks are deceiving, the lack of their experience running a boarding facility, the lack of professionalism, communication and outright lies were appalling. Constant issues of mounds of manure that turned to brown rivers with the rain, malfunctioning hot wire and loose horses, and lack of maintenance of the arenas were concerning. Old time boarders said don't speak up because they'll kick you out. When we had a "barn meeting" in March 2024 to discuss our concerns, Kris Corn turned it into a fundraising meeting because she hadn't paid FALL property taxes and wanted our help to figure out where to come up with the funds! The tractor was never maintained and when it finally went in for service they had no back up plan. The resident trainer used her truck to maintain the arenas and emailed Kris to let her know it was unsafe and a potential liability. A separate trainer said to me "it's not a retirement facility, so these things should be usable". We all contacted Kris and RTW because Kris said to "bring our questions and concerns to her"...they never replied, never took action to correct things. Summer 2024: we hear there's a "big deal" and everything will be great. Ha! Boarders voiced concern about the amount of foxtails in the hay and were told that those are just weeds!!! Months go by and finally at a barn meeting in Nov 2024 the "big deal" was announced...that it was being sold. At that meeting they chose to bring internal management issues to the boarders and point fingers at others as to why all of the concerns had not been addressed. They didn't accept any responsibility as to how things had been handled or what concerns would be addressed. Promised that hot wire would be fixed soon and here it is 3 months later and it still isn't so horses don't get turn out unless the owner stays with them. They have no experience running a boarding facility, no back up plan for when equipment breaks or needs service and often there was no one on site during the day; and nite checks were not done. Oh and the "big deal" included kicking out the current trainer, her clients and a few others at the upper stalls to make room for an "A" level trainer whose clients were willing to pay $$$$. Basically if your horse lived in the muddy paddocks below you were safe, if you asked questions or brought up concerns you were called a "cancer" and your board was terminated! I am NOT kidding. Your horse deserves an honest, non-toxic environment as do you. Do NOT board at Ride to Walk or at Boarding at Ride to Walk. read more

While the mission of their therapy program is admirable, I would not recommend Ride to Walk's boarding services to any serious horsemen. I do not believe they are knowledgeable enough nor properly equipped to manage a large-scale boarding facility. In my opinion, there have been several instances of horses falling ill or injured that could have been prevented with better management and oversight of the facility. read more

It's that time of the year again! Time for the Ranch Run, an annual VW car show put on to raise money for this facility. Situated on 21 rolling acres of Oak trees and a lake. Ride to Walk is a therapeutic horseback riding facility which provides flexibility, balance and muscle strength to children and adults with cerebral palsy, autism, muscular dystrophy, attention deficit disorder, head trauma, and more. . Ride to Walk provides support to these individuals, parents/caregivers and the community. To date, there are currently six employees, 50 volunteers and nine horses. We have been coming to this VW car show which is sponsored by Niello Volkswagen for the last 5 years. With over 300 VW's and their owners participating to raise money and awareness to this worthwhile cause. On this day, the caravan started at Universal Technological Institute, the caravan sped off along the highway escorted by security officers along the highway to Lincoln. In the previous years, the caravan has been led by the California Highway Patrol, but not this year due to limited funding. Here at the show, you will see VW's worth $1000-$100,000. There are VW's and their owners here from all over California. There are raffles, live bands, food trucks and entertainment for the kids. Even if you aren't a VW owner, there is lots to see and do. There are paddle boats for rent and a fishing area. In order to continue the work, Ride to Walk is host to a number of other events. This majestic property is available for company picnics, weddings and lots of other outdoor events. read more

Ride To Walk strives to provide a positive support system for individuals with disabilities, their parents/caregivers, and our community. All I can say is what a great organization. Admittedly, I came here to fish their catch and release 6 acre pond but I made sure to read up on the organization before I came. Conveniently located off of 193 and is a very functional and beautiful property. I will definitely be looking into the volunteer work here and look into my company matching my hours worked. At the very least, it's good to know my $5 donation to fish will go to a great cause. Very relaxing atmosphere here and a great way to pass some time.
