Grew up in Jackson when it was a dry county. Go back for high school reunions and family visits…read more Love good wine and for a few years I was able to find decent wines including older vintages at Forked Vine Wine & Spirits. They have a glassed in refrigerated cellar in one corner. The visit before last found this room about 25% stocked and it was difficult to find something drinkable in terms of quality and maturity. The most recent visit in early September 2023 found the room about 10% stocked and the cooling unit not working, so the room temp was about 80 degrees instead of the 55 it should be. I wound up buying a few warm wines from the room just because I knew they would likely be better than any of the wine outside the room. I spoke to the staff and told them about my past good experiences and my recent unpleasant ones. I also told them how important it was to maintain quality wines at a decent temperature. I have been to every liquor store in Jackson, TN, and they all have only lower end wines that are very young. From now on I will ship wines to Jackson ahead of my visit. But I don't understand why the owner of this once good shop let this happen.

I don't know much about whiskey and I was on a budget. I was by the whiskey section for quite some time trying to make a decent selection for the amount I was allotted to spend as this was a grab bag gift. I felt as if I was being spied on and watched the whole time, for what?!?! Did they think I was gonna steal something??? Not once did someone ask if I needed help. I don't think they know much about alcohol. Anyway, I also bought some wine and a few other items. The girls at the register were rude and treated me as if I was bothering them when I did not say two words to them. They will never get a dime from me again.

We have eaten there as a group several Times, but this was our BEST experience. Also Rusty was honest about the tip Being added because of our large group. And I certainly appreciate that and tipped more because of it!!

We were driving from Nashville to Memphis for our kids' sporting events and got hungry on the road…read more We searched for Italian places and found Picasso Bistro & Pizzeria. The restaurant has a nice outdoor patio that would be great for an afternoon meal or summertime dinner. Inside, the restaurant is spacious and has a separate bar area for adult fun. In the dining room, you also have a view of the pizza oven. We ordered garlic knots and cheese bread. The garlic knots were smothered in Parmesan cheese and came with marinara sauce. The cheese bread was deliciously made with the same sourdough bread as the pizza crust. It also came with three dipping sauces -- garlic olive oil, pesto, and marinara. The pizza was amazing with the sourdough base. We ordered a large pepperoni to share, a chicken Parmesan calzone, and a ribeye wrap. All three were so yummy and the portions were large enough for us to take leftovers with us. The service was prompt and friendly. When drinks ran out, they refilled them quickly. In total, we spent around $100 for the four of us, which is about average for a night out with full meals, appetizers, and a couple of beers. Would definitely come back the next time we drive through Jackson, TN.
