I think these are the best bagels in the area! All taste great. I'm especially fond of the cheddar jalapeno! Yum!

Looking for great bagels in Ct, this is it. They make the bagels on site each morning starting at 2:30 AM. Huge variety of bagel flavors. They have all the works - great lox, spreads, veggies...even capers. They also have an assortment of baked items that looked delish. When we went on a late Sunday morning the live music was just wrapping up. The people working there are very nice. When you go, expect a line - heard it wraps around outside. You can order ahead. I don't eat bagels often - and this place was totally worth it!!! read more

It took 18 mins to get a bacon egg cheese out. It's 10:17 am -- An off hour. The donut we got was a bit dry. The bagels aren't the usual fresh bagels we expect with this place. Maybe just an off day for them? read more

Was down at CVS n decided to get a bagel at Steve's since I heard it was a new owner. Sausage n eggs on a toasted everything (no cheese) $10.45! I almost threw up in my mouth. These are the best friggin vehicles around and the only place you can get a Flagel! if you do a bagel crawl, make this your last place because you will love it the most! They make lots of fresh bakery goods as well, including a delicious black-and-white, Twinkie, and muffins. Their whitefish salad is to die for this is an oasis in Connecticut. I guess it's hard to make decent bagels so close to NYC, but then again I've had much better bagels in Vermont so.... I was hoping the new owners would fix the bagel recipe, but never happened. I'll stick to Empire Bagels in Cross River. We tried other items from the menu too and were disappointed - dry over-baked banana bread, meh quiche. The donuts were pretty good, above average but unfortunately donuts aren't my thing. read more

Have tried this place twice now. First time the everything bagel was stale. It was a Saturday morning. How are the bagels stale?? The olive cream cheese was good though. Visited today Wednesday morning and now the cinnamon raisin bagel is stale. My jaw is actually hurting finishing the bagel. Dissapointed and will not return. Are they not making fresh bagels every day? Isn't this a bagel store? Why is it so hard to find good food now a days !??? read more

First of all ... I was completely floored at the cost of a dozen bagels ... almost 23 dollars !!! Village bagels charges 15 dollars for a dozen and their bagels are awesome! Onion bagels that I got were rock hard ... it was fairly in the morning so it's not like they had been sitting there all day . Will not be back read more

Great bagels and other foods. They usually have some baked goods made in the morning. They know how bake and I am picky.

I'm on a diet, so rarely get bagels - but the time I did buy them they were amazing! I always pick up salads and sometimes soups. The owner, Chef Emily, is really an exceptional chef. I bought their gazpacho soup and it was out of this world - it is crazy good! Check then out if you haven't already. read more

Best bagels in town hands down. So glad they took over from Steve's. (Sorry but it's true). Today they realized 2 plain bagels were missed from my order, and rather than argue with me that I never asked/paid the woman (owner?) smiled nicely and said they were on the house. This place, and the new bagel recipe they have, is excellent. These bagels are really, really good. I've been in the food industry for 10+ years and I was really impressed. The interior looks nice, the team seems to be enjoying the new ownership, and the prices make sense to me, given the food quality. It seems the only negative review is fro ma serial 1-star reviewer who dislikes most of their experiences, I would ignore them. read more

The bagels are a great improvement over the "original Steve's" bagels. The new Chefs put their own "signature" on their bagels and I think they are terrific. Also, the baked goods are getting better and better and better. Little by little people are starting to discover this place and I can see that it's getting busier and busier. This place sucks. Not Steve's Bagels at all. They have like no options and their menu is out of date. I tried to order a breakfast sandwich and they were out of basically everything and it was horrible when I got it. The hot cocoa was just warmed up chocolate milk. Okay first off, Connecticut bagels as a group are pretty lousy. But this place is the diamond in the rough. True artisanal bagels, worthy of the best places on Long Island, lower Westchester and Brooklyn. Crispy on the outside, and super tasty from first bite to last. They're not the standard oversize balls of dough. A bit smaller but soooooo much better. And by the way, coffee and other pastries are pretty damn good too. read more

Finally don't have to drive to Katonah for a good bagel. These are even better. Don't have to order from Hot bagels and pick them up in Redding. Ridgefield finally has a real bagel spot. We have lived in Manhattan, Queens, Scarsdale and Mamaroneck. These bagels as with all the other good spots hold their own. not to mention all the delicious baked sweets. They also are delicious and blows away Dunkin' and Bobos. The renovations look great. The staff is extremely nice. So for all you complainers about the prices. They are going to be what they are. You are not getting subpar food. Go to Parma, Posa or the cheese shop to name a few. They are just as expensive. Maybe you will think about that the next time you vote. I ordered a half dozen bagels, but had a friend pick them up after I paid over the phone. They could not have been any nicer about the switch. The bagels are dense, with a chewy outside the way true bagels should be. These are real bagels, not the oversized doughy air filled variety. So they are the right size and I do love the flavors! I had salt, plain, and a cheese (I think?) they were all delicious. And there are more than bagels, the chocolate chip cookies are thin and bakery style-yummy! The chili is also a hearty mix of beef and beans and very filling...and delicious with a toasted bagel to dip. I will be back!! read more

Delicious and fresh bagels + lots of delicious sweet and savory pastries in the case. I had a sesame seed bagel with scallion cream cheese and a Twinkie. I was skeptical of finding a delicious bagel outside of Manhattan, but these bagels are some of the best I've had. They have a nice chewy texture and bite on the outside. They tasted incredibly fresh and had a great selection of flavored cream cheese. Highly recommend this spot. There is cozy seating, customer service is great and the new owners are really nice.
