Ridge hill the best place to come to for shopping movies or restaurants even if you just tryna come window shopping. The cinema is amazing it even has a bar inside in case you waiting for your movie to start hey! Why not a soft drink. If you come by car, which I suggest is the best way coming to this place you can pay a all day parking space for under $5 that's amazing! The food inside the theater is a bit over price, I.bought 2 hot dogs and a Powerade that was $16 mind u the hot dog bun had nothing inside. My boy got a small pop corn and a vitamin water that was $12. One thing I love about this place is the seating it's very comfortable. Plus the movies screen are huge with great sound and quality. Been my favorite place to come for shopping, drinks, and movies all in one :)

Sometimes I come to this theatre when the time is convenient rather than others. This theatre is on the third level of the mall. Right above dicks sporting goods and tj maxx. The theatre is very clean. It's very spacious as you walk in. There is cashiers available but there are multiple self paying stations if your using a debit or credit card. The downside is that the line for concession items are ALWAYS long! There is always only ONE cashier open while there are 25 people waiting on line about to miss their movie. There was one time that I literally missed the beginning of the movie meanwhile I got on line 20 minutes before the movie started. There is a restaurant in there and Ben and Jerrys and they never have lines so I always decide to get ice cream lately since it's quicker. Plus side is that if you have a parking ticket then it will discount money off of your purchases in the theatre. The theatre's are very clean and nicely set up. But now since new roc has the recliner seats it kind of beats their seats which just go back a little bit more than the regular ones. So as we were leaving we notice the whole parking lot was PITCH black! They blocked off going down to the ground level so we had to leave through some weird exit. Meanwhile my friends car was on the ground level and it took a while to find a way to get to her car meanwhile I had to literally drive her to her car because you couldn't see a thing because it was so dark. Meanwhile they shut the parking lot down at 11 pm and movies were still going on. That is NOT ok to have customers walk in darkness to find their car it's unethical and NOT safe!

Nice and quiet on Saturday mornings

If you feel like paying for parking and you might have some other errands you want to run that day, this is a great place. I went early in the day but it looks like it does tend to get kind of crowded. I did quite enjoy the reclining seats though. I wasn't really excited about the fact that one of the people working there implied that parking was free but it was just indeed validated for a cheaper price but that is neither here nor there because I was suppose I could have read about that online. It's also really convenient if you have to run errands to Costco afterwards since that's just across the highway. Overall I would go back to this place again if I had local errands or wanted to grab something at one of the restaurants in that shopping center.

Cool screen in the lobby area!

Definitely better quality seats than other Showcase cinemas in the area (depending on which auditorium you get) but still could be a bit cleaner and more organized in general. They messed up my loyalty card points because my starpass card was de-magnetized, and they gave me a new one claiming the points would transfer but they did not.

Years later, this is still not good…read more Tried this again twice after a very long time of not coming here - yep, still not too good. In comparison to other movie theaters, this one pales greatly. While they updated the theaters with modern seating(w/ tables), it's not as comfortable and clean as competitors. In all fairness, I've only been to the standard theaters, so perhaps the larger theaters are better - but it should be equal across the board. I get why they did it this way, but they probably should've just rebuilt the theater from scratch. Cross County as a whole has undergone the effort trying to look better than it once did (whether better or not is up to individual interpretation) and here we have this dated movie theater with so many better and modern theaters at other malls. Each time I came here, at least one of the beverage machines was out of order while the other one remained a mess, with sticky floors as an added bonus. I get that the general public can be inconsiderate slobs, but this is why these things should be maintained by employees. Getting a drink shouldn't be a hassle nor should there be an impromptu sticky 'minefield' to have to maneuver through while getting the drink. The theater seats weren't as comfortable as they looked like they would be and didn't feel entirely clean. While the small table was a decent innovation, it would've probably been better had all of them been adjusted, tightened, and oiled. One improvement - the employees were a little friendlier than I remember them to be. Most of them anyway. A suggestion to the theater itself is to choose when and where tickets are checked. If I check in at the front with my phone, it should be good enough - not a second time with my hands full before going into the theater. If you're concerned about those not paying, then have a better system in the front of the place. It only happened once out of the two times I was there, but it was annoying to have to get my phone back out while my hands were completely full and the employee wasn't exactly friendly about the inconvenience either. The parking lot is sizable and you should easily be able to find a spot as long as its not during the holidays. I wanted to give this place a second chance from long ago and hoped things had changed - but they haven't. It's better elsewhere. I have no intentions of giving this place a third chance unless they completely tear it down (like they should've) and start over. There's better movie theaters out there.

Seats are great and all, but that's about it. There have been a few employees that stood out over the last couple of years but mostly it's lots of mistakes. The servers are very nice always but basic things like napkins and condiments rarely are provided without asking and then waiting for quite a while as they hustle to their other orders. The food has gone from hit or miss to abysmal. Anything other than popcorn or boxed candy and you're most likely going to be disappointed. I mean. Pizza, fries and chicken fingers come out nasty. If you can't even get those basics to taste good I'd hate to see what the rest of the food is like. Is it all just frozen microwaved food? It sure seems like it. Tonight we had pretzel bites. We've enjoyed them sometimes before (sometimes they're great. Sometimes they're almost raw in the middle) but tonight they served smaller, barely salted bites that were lukewarm at best. I'm pretty sure they forgot to bring them because our drinks and candy came quickly but the bites took a good hour. The floor is always sticky. Always. I get it. People are pigs and the patrons are to blame too but maybe swiffing or something between shows would help. Tables are also hit or miss w stickiness. The bathrooms are literally hell on earth. Not once have I gone and they're cleaned up w toilet paper and soap available to use instead of being all over the floor and sink. Again, disgusting patrons are to blame for that but where's the restock? I can't overstate this: the ladies room is ALWAYS a disaster. Anyhow. Guess I needed to vent after tonight's experience. I told the kids I'm never paying to go there again. They agreed. Oh. And on a hot, humid evening as it was tonite, the air conditioning was barely working. Literally muggy in the theater. Gross. Sad. Do better, Look Dobbs Ferry. You COULD BE amazing. Try. Please.

The people working at the bar were disorganized, seemingly having trouble managing the drink and food orders by various patrons. The high-top chairs were very uncomfortable, and our table was sticky. Lastly, they were out of many food and drink options on the menu during this weekend night. The food we eventually did get was meh. I supposed next time if I find myself here, I would not plan to eat a meal here, which I think kind of defeats the purpose of this venue.

Finally got an excuse with the Super Mario brothers movie to come by. 'Cool' is the word when it comes for what they're going for with Alamo. It's located in the back of a shopping center with ample parking, however the decor is very nice inside. They had a headless horseman figure, a well designed lobby, clean bathrooms, and a few games for the kids. Also had a Super Mario poster kids could take pics in front of. Bar looked great too. They like their retro vibes, and the old school Mario cartoons/shows before the movie was a nice touch; saw some Godzilla stuff I might come back for too. Food was easy to order from your seat. Why only 3 stars? Service was very uneven. My food and my son's food came out immediately, however my wife's food (and a side of sauce for me) took 20min. I flagged this multiple times in the app without acknowledgement, so eventually grabbed someone only to get a boilerplate answer of 'we're working on everyone's food'. Luckily her food came independently right after, but she was starving so not a great experience. My food was cold when it came, however the boneless chicken wings were very good. Still sucked for her. My beer was also flat when it arrived, however I do t expect the world there when it comes to a theater (although if they poured it with more head it might've been fine). Lastly, my chair's back didn't recline much, which prevented me from the nap I planned to take during this movie. Could've been worse, however also could've been better. I am open to going Alamo 1 more shot, however might be just for me and friends versus a family. They really need to work on the operational back end here, as the place is cool as hell and I'd love to be a regular if they had things together.

Then I saw Demon Slayer recently and realized this theater...kinda sucks. It needs to be updated seats wise. The screen in this theater is the largest though, and you actually have to climb stairs to get on the platform to watch the movie. 4DX - I was disappointed by my Demon Slayer IMAX adventure so I ended up seeing the dubbed version (to change things up) in 4DX. I had a freaking BLAST because this movie had a lot of elements and they are fighting and falling, you go on quite the journey in that chair. I was worried that if I had popcorn, it would fly everywhere but that didn't really happen much in this movie. However, when I saw chainsaw man in the same theater, even though it started off, kind of slow the explosions in that movie made me feel like I was slipping out of my seat if I wasn't holding the cupholders. I can see why some people may not like this, especially if you're prone to motion sickness. RPX - honestly, it's the best of both worlds. The seats are comfortable, the screen is large, and it's an enjoyable experience. Overall, I love this movie theater, and I always will. I hope the screen explanations help!

While my go-tos in Westchester are Alamo Drafthouse and Jacob Burns Film Center, the Pelham Picture House is a place that is deep in the archives of my mind, having been there a few times when I was younger. I was off the other day and figured I would catch a movie, and since they were playing one I was meaning to see, I made my way over. Pelham Picture House is located in the main commercial hub of the town, among a number of other businesses. I remember coming here a couple of times when I was younger - I believe I saw Casper here during its initial theatrical run. I really love the exterior - it has a retro feel and the neon signage was the cherry on top. The box office is located right before you enter and they have a concession stand immediately to your left after you entering. There are technically two screens in this theater, though I feel they may have added the second one later on. The main theater is large, almost auditorium like with many seats. The second theater is off to the side - it kind of looks like a room that was used for something else at first - the screen is one of those roll-down projector types, and the seats look like ones you wound find in a home theater. I was in the latter theater (called the Screening Room) - it was comfortable but not what I was expecting. The theater as a whole provided a comfortable experience, but it can definitely use some love - a lot of the fixtures and aesthetics are old and worn. I could see where some renovations were done but a lot of it can use some sprucing up. Hopefully as time goes on we will see more improvements to the space, I feel it's really important to have local theaters that show independent and art house films. Customers service was great, and overall I had a good experience rediscovering Pelham Picture House. I would have no qualms returning, and would in fact seek it out if they're showing a film I want to see. It's really great to see theaters like this still standing in Westchester.
