Years later, this is still not good. Tried this again twice after a very long time of not coming here - yep, still not too good. In comparison to other movie theaters, this one pales greatly. While they updated the theaters with modern seating(w/ tables), it's not as comfortable and clean as competitors. In all fairness, I've only been to the standard theaters, so perhaps the larger theaters are better - but it should be equal across the board. I get why they did it this way, but they probably should've just rebuilt the theater from scratch. Cross County as a whole has undergone the effort trying to look better than it once did (whether better or not is up to individual interpretation) and here we have this dated movie theater with so many better and modern theaters at other malls. Each time I came here, at least one of the beverage machines was out of order while the other one remained a mess, with sticky floors as an added bonus. I get that the general public can be inconsiderate slobs, but this is why these things should be maintained by employees. Getting a drink shouldn't be a hassle nor should there be an impromptu sticky 'minefield' to have to maneuver through while getting the drink. The theater seats weren't as comfortable as they looked like they would be and didn't feel entirely clean. While the small table was a decent innovation, it would've probably been better had all of them been adjusted, tightened, and oiled. One improvement - the employees were a little friendlier than I remember them to be. Most of them anyway. A suggestion to the theater itself is to choose when and where tickets are checked. If I check in at the front with my phone, it should be good enough - not a second time with my hands full before going into the theater. If you're concerned about those not paying, then have a better system in the front of the place. It only happened once out of the two times I was there, but it was annoying to have to get my phone back out while my hands were completely full and the employee wasn't exactly friendly about the inconvenience either. The parking lot is sizable and you should easily be able to find a spot as long as its not during the holidays. I wanted to give this place a second chance from long ago and hoped things had changed - but they haven't. It's better elsewhere. I have no intentions of giving this place a third chance unless they completely tear it down (like they should've) and start over. There's better movie theaters out there. read more

I have been to this theater several times. It is located right by Cross County Mall. It is an average sized theater with a busy crowd on the weekends. You can order your tickets ahead of time. The concession stand has all your standard fares. They have a bar with special drinks that match the movie titles. The seating in the theaters were nice. You have enough space to stretch out and enjoy your movie. Most of the time the theater is usually packed. You will be annoyed by the usual talking during the movie or crying baby. Sometimes people don't know how to act during a movie. Otherwise this place is nice. I have enjoyed the occasional screening here when I didn't have any other options. read more

This theater is awesome... sometimes. The theater itself is great. It has the reclining seats, it also has 3-D movies as well and always shows the newest films. On Tuesdays if you're a member they have discounts, which is awesome! The only problem I have are some of the people who are in the audience. I've had multiple experiences where other people are extremely distributive during the movies. For example throwing popcorn at the screen and at people, people screaming or on their phones. I've never complained to the theater about this behavior but next time I plan to if I notice it again. Most of these problems only happened to movies made for a younger audience. read more

My family & I came here on a Saturday afternoon & this was my first visit & it was pretty good overall. There's a parking lot with plenty of spaces for starters. Upon entering there's a lounge area, bar area to your right & a small arcade to your left. As some of the other reviews & with any theater snacks, water etc are all overpriced, but that's expected. A 20oz water was $5.00 which is usually a dollar...but what can ya do...bring ya own that's right! You can bring outside items in the theater, so if you prefer you can go that route. For an alcoholic beverage I had their "Pomegranate-Berry Lemon Crush" which was very good. The mixed drink prices are standard which is around $9-$11, beer is $5-$6 & wine ranged from $8-$14 depending on the ounces. There concussion stand is all Nathan's , so I tried their chicken tenders & cheese fries, both were good & I got a ICE drink. Inside the theater, I really like it that each row of seats are spacious, so that if someone needs to get up, you won't have to move. The seats recline & you have your own tray with a cup holder. I would say as a heads up, you should wipe down the seats, as my party & I did. This was my first time here & I would return. The bartenders were slow, but the staff was professional, which is always appreciated. read more

This place never seems to improve. They are slow and seem not to want to be working here. The lines to purchase popcorn is always long and extremely slow. 10 different movies play at anytime. Love this theater. Its clean, smells good, isn't ridiculously packed and allows you to order tickets ahead of time so you DONT need to visit to box office, just go straight towards your auditorium showing your movie. The consession stand has everything you can think of. Food items, beverages, candy, of course pop corn, nachos, pretzels and ice cream. They even have a BAR with most liquors you expect to find at a bar. I didnt get a drink so im unsure if your able to leave the bar area and take your alcoholic drink into the movie auditorium. I'm assuming you should be able to. I've been to this location multiple times. I believe there was only ONE time where i found the theater to be extremely packed. Every other time there has barely been any crowd or even long lines at the consession stand or ticket line. I appreciate the pre-selected seating. Makes things so much easier. The bathrooms are clean for the most part. I have never seen a line in here for sure. Usually i never have any issues with the bathroom or stalls being cleaned. They removed all paper towels from the bathroom, they only have hand blowers now which aren't the best. The snacks at the consession stand are okay. The hot dogs are good. Ice cream is good. The basic candies are good. Sometimes they dont have items. Like this past saturday, they didnt have any snickers candy bars. They also didnt have the Wild Cherry Icee, only coca cola and blue raspberry were working. Now the popcorn was horrible. No salt what so ever.... i added butter but there way salt so i could add my own. It was a little sucky to not have flavorful popcorn during a movie. Overall, ill continue to come here. Gosh! I heard this multiplex received a face lift in the recent years but the theater is so dirty, sticky floors, dirty countertops and the bathrooms are literally untouched by any staff . It's a filthy filthy place to be in . The theaters have tables attached to your seat ( my sisters was missing ( theater 6 seat F 9) anywhoooo the tables attached were filthyyyyyy and sticky . The floor looked like soda spilled and was left there for days . It's really sad to see how unkept the theater was and even tho I saw a manager on duty he did nothing to rectify any of this . I have not been to a movie theater in ohh... I'd guess 10-12 years. I got some tickets for the cheap through T-mobile tuesdays. I was originally going to go see the movie, "Scream" 2022. However, got sidetracked and decided to change my tix to see the movie, "Sing 2" with our little over 5 year old son. Now about the theater experience, movie theater was clean. Seats were super comfortable, reclining and just super relaxing, they also include a swivel table ahead while your seated to place snacks beverages on while your enjoying your movie. Movie theaters are struggling, so I don't know if theaters will go the way if dinosaurs and museums.. but they are trying their best to stay afloat economically during these pandemic times. Tix were not cheap but after the smile on our sons face when the movie ended, made it worthwhile. Small Popcorn was over 8 bucks....totally expect the overcharging but I seemed to have forgotten how damn salty it could be. Son loved the popcorn was eating it like a goat at a trough. Showcase cinemas never disappoint me. The venue at Cross County is among my favorite in the vicinity because it's nicer than New Roc City and Bay Plaza (Bronx). Plenty of parking and they have a variety of showtimes, so you can never go wrong. The theatre are pretty spacious with ample leg room and reclining chairs. Staff are for the most part helpful and courteous. There is an option to order tix online and their 'Starpass' rewards program is not bad, seems to have been very easy for me to gain rewards in the last 6 months. My biggest issue however, are the SLOW concessions. Sometimes it'll be enough people on the registers but still slow. I give myself at least an extra half hour of arrival prior to my movie just to make up for this otherwise, you'll end up half way thru previews by the time you actually get to the front and order. Otherwise, a good theatre for a standard or 3D movie. Would definitely recommend. read more

I really like how they changed this place around. It offers theatre seats that recline. Their concessions stands function and flow well. My only gripe is that the seats are all aligned on the same level. I'm use to have the seats on a staircase design, it's more appealing and makes the viewing experience better imo. read more

Came here on a Saturday afternoon for a 5:20pm movie. It was not very packed. I had a ticket voucher on my phone, but they can not scan it, you actually have to print it, unlike AMC. It was annoying being that I had to go on. 8 minute drive to staples to print them. Upon my return I was able to get my tickets, I wish I was directed as to where the theatre was, instead of taking a guess. The snacks were expensive, but that is standard at the movies. They also sell coffee and alcohol. I was very surprised when I got to the theatre! The seats are comfortable and recline. They also have space for your snacks. Good evening, This message is regarding my experience at the theater today at cross county around 10:30 in theater 9, for the movie Bat Man. I just want to share what a horrible experience I had today, not only did I not feel safe but I had to witness teenage boys Harass and physically harm another group of guys. Not only did they physically attack the boys but they also spit at them. Security at this theater was very incompetent as well as the usher. Not only did they fail to stop them from entering without purchasing a ticket, but they were smoking marijuana inside the theater were families with their children present. When a guest complaint and security came into the theater, the security just stood there and failed to check their tickets. I have been a regular at this theater for years and this is the worst experience I have encountered, I hope you look at the camera footage and ban those teens from the theater, they threaten to shoot the theater and you need to take action. read more

I went to see an early showing of Downton Abbey during opening weeklong while on vacation. The theater was clean and ordering was easy. However, service was TERRIBLE! We arrived 15 minutes before showtime and I immediately ordered a coke and popcorn. 30 minutes into the show the drink arrived. After 45 minutes into the movie my husband went out to the bar to let the manager know we still had not received our popcorn. After waiting a hour and 15 minutes the popcorn arrives. I just want to share what a horrible experience I had that day, I did not feel safe. me and my fiancé brought our ticket and food and headed to our theater. When seating down I got back up than exited the row, to get some napkins and notice that a MOUSE had crossed my path. I screamed and told my fiancé to get up. After the remodel, the movie theatre is up to date and doesn't look like a mental hospital. It looks very clean and modern. There is reserved seating with reclinable seats! We frequent this cinema often and the latest renovations have ridiculously improved our cinematic experience here. We used to go to ridge hill which was further than where we live now we prefer this location it's so comfortable the seats and service are amazing. Also the bartender we had tonight had the most amazing communication skills and just all around good vibes. Would literally go back just to see him he made such a huge impression on me and my friends. I don't know his name but he was just a complete gentleman and I also bartend so I really appreciated his energy and completely genuine customer service . Will look forward to seeing him again in the bar! We had to wait a second because our screen hadn't been cleaned yet but we did not care in the slightest and the staff were absolutely lovely and we were very thankful for them coming in and sprucing up the place. My boyfriend and I came to the movies today for a much needed date day. We decided to go tot he bar and treat ourselves to a drink. CHRIS the bartender, served every single person before he served us. He even served customers who came after us to avoid us. When I finally asked if we could order, he said after he served everyone else. We were the only white people on line. So the theater itself is trash. The location is great. In a nice shopping area, plenty of parking. Everything about the shopping center looks updated, except this place. I came across it trying to kill time before dinner. My friend and I decided to catch Logan in the mean time. Walking in, everything appeared to be clean, but it all looks ancient. We weren't greated, but whatever. The movie listing marquee was located on the far, far left side. We were right on time for the movie. I cringed at the ticket prices, but remembered I'm not in NC so everything here will be overpriced. Walked over to concessions and checked out the menu. The cashier stood there and looked at us like we were intrupting her. My friend asked if she was busy and she blank stared at us for about 5 seconds before she said, "Huh." I asked if we can place an order. Then she snapped out of it. I grabbed a pizza and Twizzlers, cried over the price of that and was off to the showing. We inside our theater and I was immediately disappointed. This place is insanely outdated. No stadium seating. Just a slight decline to the front. Ugh. We picked out our seats and I damn near fell through it. You know that sofa at your friends house with the giant hole on the left side? Everyone sits in it because it's low and comfy. This was that hole minus the comfort. My friend literally had to hoist me out of it. I went to inform an employee and their response was, "Oh yeah, we get complaints about it. I'll let the manager know, but they ain't gonna do anything..." So we picked out another pair of seats and got as cozy as we could. Once the previews started, I opened my pizza box to see a single slice of pizza. Huh?!! Who's bright idea is it to charge $6 for a small slice and not personal pan. I was livid. My friend calmed me down and I swallowed my pride and ate the pizza. It was not good. I was upset that I did not return it. It taste like it was sitting under a light bulb all day. I was super mad. This is quite possibly the worst movie theater in existence. I exaggerate not. I've lived in the area for more than 15 years and used to come here every weekend as a kid. Back in the day, this place was not half bad. Just a standard movie theater, but at least it was clean & well-managed. But in the last 2 years, it's gone completely downhill. I've been here twice in those two years and both times the movie started over 20 minutes late. We just end up sitting in a full theater staring at a blank screen. Both times, we had to get up & go ask an employee what's going on, then a "manager" tells us she doesn't know what's wrong because "it's her first week on the job" (in that case, they must be replacing managers every few months, with each one as clueless as the next!). In one instance, after half an hour of waiting and a whole lot of begging, our movie starts and runs smoothly for 20 minutes... then STOPS and RESTARTS FROM THE BEGINNING. Excuse my slang but "Where They Do That At???" To top it all off, the staff here is really really rude. They don't greet you, have a constant scowl on their faces and would rather chat with co-workers than do their jobs. God bless whoever put a movie theater at Ridge Hill. I just can't do movie theatres w/o stadium seating anymore. Cross County Movie Theatre was da bomb back then but definitely needs a some up to date renovations. Pros: Large parking lot, close to shopping center, ticket lines that go pretty fast, large selection of movie junk food, friendly workers Cons: Non-stadium, uncomfortable small and non-recliniing seats, little leg room, long food lines, unkept restrooms, too many teens and tweens hanging around Still do-able theatre. I just wouldn't suggest watching a movie over 2 hours here. read more

I like this theater and location, howeverrrrrr...It needs some serious updating. Those seats *ugh*...are a little tight. Im a plus-sized girl with a booty so those arm rest are not working for me...and I usually have to end up putting my feet up on the seat in front of me, so I'm usually only comfy on days when the theater isn't crowded, like on a Thursday night. Bigger screens, roomier stadium seating, more bathrooms please! I've only found one women's bathroom here...and it took my 2nd visit to realize where it was.
