So they frequently resort to ambiguous descriptions like "#2 Jimmy" NOT SO RIGGINS. Small. medium large jumbo are not only accurate. they are generally understatements of the actual generous sizes, weight and freshness. But if a MD "medium@ masquerading as a small isn't to your liking, they have the freshest crab cakes, imperial and seafood platter (Captains Feast) all at extraordinary value the "surf and Turf" burger combines a hefty fresh ground sirloin cheeseburger with a full sized crab cake (either selling alone at other restaurants nearby for $18-20,) for 17.95 with a side.. Great experience As a Maryland transplant I miss the blue crabs , went there today and it was wonderful. Great service and the blue crabs were like home. If you've ever eaten blue crabs, you know every once in a while you get one that's just not right, I had placed it in the shell tray and the server noticed it and without saying a word he came by and dropped off two crabs fresh out of the steamer. This is our 4th time dining here as a group. The food is always delicious, but the service depends on the day. They are really fast at taking your initial order but it may take a while to get your server's attention for additional requests once the food arrives. Paul and I went back to Riggins crab house on Wednesday because my goal was to have their sushi and crabcake for dinner. We shared both dishes and it was up to our expectations. It was a wonderful meal and the service was great. The crabcake came with coleslaw and one side and we added another side so we would both have a corn on the cob. There was an up charge for the linguine with the crab sauce. We did not have room for dessert, but Paul did have a nice couple of beers. This is not a fancy place but it's a lot of fun and casual. This was my first time going to this restaurant. The food was great and very plentiful. The service was very fast, considering that we had a lot of people who came to my sister's birthday celebration. The ambiance was very nice. I had the Riggins Sea Raft $28.95, which was 3 1/2 sides of fried catfish, shrimp, clams, oysters, 2 pieces of cod and a blue crab. It was enough for 2 people! It was a lot of food for the price. I also had a Caesar salad and a loaded baked potato. The platter had so much food on it, I bought some home for another meal! To drink I had me a Mountain Dew, with free refills. Local staple to the seafood delicacy of the town! For years my colleagues have spoken wonders about this location saying their crab is heavenly , tastes fabulous and good for family gatherings. Today at the table I choose the mushroom crab and soup- I would not recommend the conch as I have had authentic Bahamian and this was more minestrone when I requested to change to chowder it was fantastic! My friends taught me the skill of breaking the crab and how to have the variety of flavors all in the bucket. Essential for large family gatherings and the house was full of groups. Rigging Crabhouse turned out to be a really pleasant spot for a relaxed seafood meal. I started with the fried soft-shell crab appetizer, which was a standout right away; crispy on the outside, tender inside, and a great way to ease into the meal. The Caesar salad that followed was cold, crisp, and nicely dressed, with that classic, familiar flavor that just feels right with seafood. For my main, I had the blackened mahi-mahi sandwich with a side of rice pilaf and linguine in a light butter-and-oil sauce. The mahi was fresh, nicely seasoned, and cooked just right. The rice pilaf was fluffy and well seasoned without being salty, a simple but solid side that soaked up the flavors from the fish. The linguine was a nice change of pace. It was light, not weighed down with a heavy sauce, with just enough butter and oil to coat the pasta and make it feel comforting without being too rich. I finished with a flaming crème brûlée, which was a fun touch and a nice way to end the meal. The caramelized top had a good crack to it, and the custard underneath was smooth and enjoyable. Our group had such an awesome time last Saturday night for dinner... There were five of us -we requested a hightop table in the bar area, and between the great service, the great food and the dive bar/crab house vibe, it was an experience to remember! Dave was our waiter (maybe even overheard he was one of the owners?) And he was super informative and helpful in terms of what to order. Hot tip - he asked us if we had reserved any crabs for our Maryland crab order and we hadn't so keep that in mind... They will accept holding crab for your party. We opted to go with a dozen of the large Maryland blue crabs. They are steamed in beer and vinegar and topped with an old bay type seasoning that was not overpowering... You can get butter, garlic, butter vinegar whatever you want on the side, the butter was really a nice touch. They had other sized crabs, including small/medium, jumbo and colossal, but from experience, we know that the smaller the crab, the sweeter the meat, but we didn't want to be picking for hours so we went with the large and we were totally pleased! I would go with the large again! We were with an experienced crab eater, but if we were not, Dave would've given us a demonstration on how to eat it properly and get as much meat out as you can. Four of us shared a dozen crab and a rack of ribs. It was actually the perfect amount of food. Though I could've eaten more crab lol We were there for 2 1/2 hours- I always love a dinner that is the main event! To finish up, we all shared a piece of the Keylime pie and it was very very good. It came with one side, I chose asparagus, it was a large portion. One of my friends had the double lobster tails and really enjoyed them. Another had 1/2 dozen Maryland crabs. When we arrived the staff at the front desk mentioned the berry cobbler, which needed to be ordered 20 minutes in advance and was enough for 2 people. I ordered it and was disappointed. It is enough for 2 people, however it's not a cobbler, it has pie crust on top, which is heavy. Cobbler should have a light, crumbly topping. For $15, they could have given you 2 scoops of ice cream, instead of 1 since 2 people are eating it. read more

We having been going here from time to time over the years. Recently I won a stone crab dinner for two from an Instagram giveaway. I made a 6:30 reservation for a very busy Friday night. The stone crabs were amazing. I also ordered the French onion soup, Holy Moly delicious. We had two cocktails, which were very good also. If you do not arrive at a early time, their parking lot will probably be full, and you have to park in the supermarket parking lot. They have a separate bar, which is usually packed. For a seafood place , the prices are pretty reasonable. Plenty of items on the menu to choose from. All the appetizers that were coming out all looked very good. Found this restaurant accidentally (just got off the freeway to get gas) and so glad we did! Haven't had Maryland-style crabs since I was up there about twenty years ago. So good and so worth the effort to crack the crabs open. Glad I got the medium size instead of the half-dozen of small crabs, that would have been a lot of work! Came here with some friends for a late lunch after church. The atmosphere was relaxed, but the service was noticeably slow but we packed our patience. That said, our waitress was very kind and did her best, even though she was clearly overwhelmed by the busy Sunday crowd. I kicked things off with a strawberry margarita with a sugar rim. Sweet, smooth, and surprisingly strong. One was all I needed to start the afternoon off right! For my entrée, I went with the grilled salmon and a loaded baked potato, with scampi butter on the side. It was like having just breading, the garlic ones were grilled on a stick tasted not right. We recently picked up 1 dozen blue crabs from Riggins Crab House ($68 w tax), expecting Maryland-style crabs with old bay seasoning and corn, served hot & fresh. What we got was just old crabs--no seasoning, no butter, and lukewarm corn (1 ear). The crabs looked like the bottom of the barrel, dark inside and out, barnacles on claws, and they were stone cold! Multiple claws were cold to the touch. Take a look at disgusting pics. I really dislike spending good money ($68) for what is arguably the "best tasting crab" in the world --blue crabs! And getting shitty crabs - it's disrespectful to Maryland's blue crabs. *I called the restaurant. If I could: 4.5 stars for the food; 3 stars for atmosphere; 2 to 2.5 for service. They stock multiple types of crab legs. Most originate in the Pacific Northwest. They looked great, and I'm sure the reason most people come here. Many items list the price as MP. Other servers described the options and the prices, not our waiter. We considered a complete New England style clambake, but the only option on our visit cost $200 because they only had 2.5 pound lobsters. We decided to add the clambake (clams, mussels, shrimp, corn, and potatoes) to a meal -just $15! The crab cakes were wonderful. The large Stone crabs were great too. The burger (not everyone likes seafood) was okay; although it had to be exchanged because it was ordered medium and came out well done the first time. The escargot was strange as it came with mushrooms. There was no bread and crackers were served upon request. We had to request drink refills. The space is large and chopped up into smaller rooms and a bar. The tables are covered with paper that's discarded after each customer. Rather than extra napkins, there are paper towels rolls on each table. The bill came with a 3% operation fee?! Note: the place was very busy, but not too loud. The apology felt rushed and half-hearted, and no manager ever came over to acknowledge what happened or check in, which was disappointing. I was told my meal would be covered, but that was the extent of the response. The food service was also very delayed. Half of our party received their meals, while the other half waited an additional 20 minutes. There was no apology for the uneven timing, only excuses that the chef "only takes five orders at a time." We went to Riggins Crabhouse a couple of years ago and it was so-so. My partner ordered the escargot that was very good. We both shared my Sea Raft dinner that was overcooked, no flavor, catfish was full of bones, took leftovers home and into the garbage it went as I could not salvage the meal. Total disappointment. Tried Riggins Crabhouse on June 6, 2026 and it was terrible. Partner ordered escargot w/o any flavor. Had to ask for salt/pepper to give escargot some flavor. Clam chowder was very good. Conch fritters were perfectly cooked with no flavor. Conch fritters batter was tasteless. the conch was so hard it was like eating pieces of a shredded tire with a decent dipping sauce. I tried to order sautéed snapper but for some reason they couldn't accommodate so I got the snapper grilled $29 + $10 for fresh fish. Anthony our waiter wanted us to eat the apps first and serve the main meal later, now I know why - my snapper must have been frozen so the cook probably had to grill the snapper on one side to thaw it out - the snapper was completely dry, hard, could not separate into soft flakes of fresh snapper. I prepared frozen snapper at home that was a disaster, so I know what I am talking about as now I only use fresh snapper. To accompany the snapper I ordered bearnaise sauce with asparagus and crab meat that was edible. Baked potato and coleslaw were edible, nothing to write home about. My partner ordered the shrimp/crab scampi that arrived without the crab. The chef forgot to add the crab which was served later. The large shrimp were fresh/delicious; the pasta lacked the scampi sauce. I brought home the delicious pasta so I can cook it in a heavy cream with olive oil, garlic and seasoning. We only eat wild caught Gulf Shrimp or Key West Pinks. The shrimp served tasted fresh/delicious not farmed raised. If only Riggins would be honest and serve fresh seafood cooked/served properly they would have a line waiting out the door. We will never return to Riggins Crabhouse. Riggins needs to prepare food properly or get out of the business especially since we paid $140 (included the tip). I feel sorry for the waiters as they must know what goes on in the kitchen. Riggins is its own worst enemy. Yelp complaints revealed many items are market price so the customers could not estimate the cost of their meal. For seafood we are going to travel to the Florida Key's where we can choose our seafood. The $140 failed to include the cost of gas/toll fees which came to $20 as we live on the Miami/Broward line near US 27. We are willing to travel for delicious food and pay the price for a well-prepared meal. Anthony our waiter was accommodating/attentive. It's a shame he has to deal with Riggin's problems. We will never return to Riggins. I don't think Riggins realizes the goldmine they have at a prime location. We went elsewhere for dessert as we don't trust Riggins. After the woman walked out, the bartender proceeded to say "so don't come back". Clearly in earshot range of many other customers. Utterly unprofessional and off putting energy. I work in service industry; it's frustrating, yes, but in FRONT of other customers acting this way???? In any case, the food really wasn't great at all. The topping I ordered for my steak was lazily slathered on in the most unappealing fashion. The Filet Mignon was also overdone and clearly cut partially in the center to check for temperature. And I'm paying $55 for this? No salt and pepper for the baked potato either - ummm? The entirety of our entrees were subpar with seasoning. With the exception of the garlic linguini, it was completely lathered with garlic? I didn't even understand what my friend had ordered. Brown sauce with jar garlic... It was inedible. Riggins has been here for over forty years and I've passed them regularly on the side of I95. The parking lot was very small and we were directed to park behind the Publix supermarket next-door. They have a fresh seafood market on the side. I'm so sorry I've missed them until now! I signed up for their club and noticed they cater and host special events too. I love seafood & the variety of crabs here are overwhelming. The Maryland style crabs offered are steamed blue crabs, garlic crabs, Baltimore crab cakes, crab au gratin, crab stuffed mushrooms, crab dips, soft shell crabs, stone crab claws, snow crabs, Dungeness crabs, king crabs and colossal king crabs had me salivating. There are clambakes with an Atlantic, Pacific, New Orleans and my favorite New England theme available. The reasonably priced conch, New England clam chowder, and Maryland Crab Soup were so appealing. Steak, lobster, chicken, ribs, fish, fried fish, sandwiches and a raw bar filled the huge menu. The wine list was very reasonable. The desserts appeared amazing but we didn't have room for lava cake, cheesecake, peanut butter pie, Tiramisu, nor a sundae. Seven of us had a bite of the chocolate chip cheesecake. We started by sharing conch fritters, which were delicious with mustard sauce. I enjoy a pound and a half of colossal crab legs with corn and coleslaw. Everyone at the table enjoyed their salads, crab stuffed shrimp, crabcakes, snapper.... What is is known for is exceptional seafood and great service in a very casual atmosphere. We started with the conch fritters with their mustard sauce. OMG I was in conch fritters heaven! A wow and then some. Their Baltimore crab cakes were to die for. Very much on a par with crab cakes that I have had at the renowned Phillips Crabcakes in Maryland.
