We got a good piece of fresh fish from here that we brought home & cooked in the oven. It turned out tastey and you could really taste that it was fresh. They were honest with us in the store & told us which fish was fresh vs farm raised. We chose the red snapper since they said that is their whitest fish. Chris, the new owner of the market has done an incredible job sourcing fresh fish and honoring the previous long-time owners reputation. This is a small local specialty fish market. We got here right before they opened and walked in the back door accidentally. Greg the owner was there and was so nice! He gave us a great recommendation to get the yellow tail and we watched his helper fillet it. The price was very reasonable and his personal attention made us feel special. That night I made the fillets with a mango lime jalapeño salsa and they were super fresh and delicious. Then a few nights later we happened to run into Greg and his wife at Paradiso. Not only did he remember we were from Boston but he said he provides the restaurant (#1 in LWB) with all their seafood. Wow. My husband ordered the salmon with black risotto - incredible - and I had the pasta taster which included one of the most incredible giant scallops I've ever had. Decided to try this fish market after reading all the wonderful reviews on Yelp and I am so glad I did. Met the owner Greg, who by the way is such a nice guy and was extremely helpful. I was looking for little clams to make for the first time. Greg was so helpful in giving me guidance on washing the clams. He also was cutting some salmon that I couldn't help but notice how thick and fresh the fillets looked. I asked him for a nice slice of salmon as well. This fish market has the freshest fish in all of Palm Beach county. The first time we shopped here for Christmas Eve in 2021, we bought a good amount of fish (Feast of the Seven Fishes). The service was very professional, so friendly, and completely knowledgeable. It was so adorable inside...it reminded me of a fish market from up North at the shore points. When we got home, I realized we should have bought more shrimp so I quickly stopped at the grocery store to grab more in my haste. Highly recommend! Have been there a few times now this year, was helped by Greg, who we learned was the owner. Everything he had looked fabulous, we bought some salmon, tuna and swordfish. We went inside on a Saturday. We browsed excitedly, everything they had. We purchased a lot of Dolphin (Mahi) and a lot of Wahoo. We fried the Dolphin on that Saturday and it was so fabulously great! So, Sunday we planned the Wahoo and I was so excited all day long, awaiting dinner! :) We ate part of the Wahoo and threw away most of it. It was absolutely FOUL! We will never, ever go back there again! We are SO happy that we didn't wind up in hospital or die! Literally! It was just the one employee in the shop, who seemed pretty nice. We trusted him. Very disappointing.. This was my second time to Neptune Fish Market, our first time we purchased some red snapper and stone crabs after going home we prepared the fish and had a great dinner, andleft the stone Crab in the refrigerator overnight the next day we wanted to have the stone Crab for lunch.. But I felt the smell was not fresh so we tossed it in the garbage and forgot all about it.. I till today... We went to the market to get two pounds of "fresh stone crab", and left and went to the house within 10 minutes, and once at the house I left the stone Crab in the refrigerator for a few hours till late this afternoon when I started to prepare for dinner that I opened the package and the terrible smell of old fish come out.. Absolutely very upset the second time purchased stone Crab there and paid $32.00 per pounds I had once again toss them in the garbage! The person working there is a Vietnam veteran Wich we respect very much and a really nice man but the old seafood must stop... Not sure who owns the business but come on.. It is the only seafood market in the area leaving us no choices.. I hate to write this review but we are unwilling to get sick.. Please fix the problem! read more

For the most part, I've always have had a good experience here. Fish was fresh, price was righ and sometimes selections was small that's ok......ITS JUST NOT AVAILABLE FOLKS! Get OVER IT! I hate to read reviews with bad experiences because it is up to the consumer to research what your buying.......smell your purchases...it should smell like the ocean not a polluted ocean. Lake Worth is lucky to have this little fish store gem because Publix and Winn Dixie suck for Seafood. Any Neptune Fish Market has always been my go to fish Market for many years. Fish is fresh. Not much selection, but what is there is great for the price. High quality. Now the service is good 2/3rds of the time. There is this sour guy that works there that when I called for some fresh yellowfin at 4:30pm he told me there was some. I got there at 4:45pm the lights were down and he was counting cash and said "we sold out there is no more" . Let's be honest he wanted to GTFO early and didn't want to waste my time for my 1 pound order. Fast forward 4 months later I referred a friend. Same dude, charges her for 1/2 a pound of yellowfin. Gave her a 1/4 pound measured but for 1/2 pound price. The guy has no people skills and should stick to cleaning the fish. read more

Most recently I purchased snapper and shrimp, which were very fresh and came out so tasty. They deveined my shrimp for $1.00/lb.
