*****UPDATE: The company responded to my review on Angie's List calling me a liar and saying "obviously this customer just didn't get their way read our other reviews" If a customer not getting the service they paid for is not "getting their way" then YES, that's exactly true. This is crazy! I've never had a company be so unprofessional before. Still waiting on my refund from Right A Way after they failed to show up for a scheduled appointment. I purchased a $69 dryer vent cleaning through Angie's List and the first appointment was cancelled 2 hours before service because it was "dark out" at that time. Okay... that is something that should've been known BEFORE the appointment was confirmed. Rescheduled for the following week at 5:30 and left work early to be home at the time of service. 6 o'clock rolls around...no one there. 6:30... still no one there. I called and they told me they were "stuck in traffic" and should be there soon. 7:30 comes along... still no one there. Finally called (mind you - NO ONE called me to check in/update me in any way) and Tim told me there was nothing he could do and he was still not going to be there for some time (He was on a street that is about ~30 min from my house) at this point it's almost 8pm! Ridiculous. And what about it being "too dark" to perform the service a week ago at 6pm? I still have not heard back from the company about a refund for this (I already paid $69 through the Angie's List coupon offer) and Angie's List is also unresponsive. So dissapointed and would never reccomend this company. read more

They were a no show; by their own admission, they were three hours late, accused me of lying as I said it was actually four hours. Irrespective of the 59 minute discrepancy, I was very clear I had somewhere else to be at 5. When they called less than two hours before I needed to be elsewhere, my concern about them getting the job done turned into a conversation that "do you expect us to run people over in the street to get to my house and that DC is a busy place?" I know, that's why I gave myself at least five hours for them to get the job done. When i expressed disdain for being called a liar and told them the drama wasn't welcome in my home, they cancelled and hung up on me. This was a pre-paid Angie's List deal that was promptly refunded. I was patient for the better part of four hours while I waited AND GAVE UP MY DAY. And even though I was a paying customer, I was called a liar. Nice. I was in a bind because the first HVAC professional I called fell through so my tenants were getting impatient. I started going through the list of duct cleaning professionals on Angie's List and $250 for HVAC and dryer duct cleaning was by far the best deal. I called and no one answered so I was going to keep moving given the urgency, but then Wayne turned around and called me right back seeing the missed call. This was a Friday afternoon and he scheduled Jerry to come out the next morning between 11-12. I was pretty happy to get such quick service even on a weekend. He was very nice to talk to on the phone and gave me his best contact information for the next day if I needed anything. Jerry arrived within the designated window and was a pleasure to work with. Not only did he clean everything thoroughly but he also looked into everything to report back to me on the condition of it. He also changed out the filter at my tenant's request. I will definitely go back to Right A Way Duct Cleaning next time I need service! read more

I purchased a special from 'Right A Way Duct Cleaning' for Air Duct Cleaning (Unlimited Vents) Plus Dryer Vent Cleaning for $249. The company scheduled an appointment for July 24th at 4pm. At 4:30pm on the day of the appointment, the company emailed me to say they technician was running an hour and a half late. Unfortunately, the company never made the appointment at all, and calls to the company went unanswered. It wasn't until the next day, that I received an email from the company saying the technician ran into some issues at a previous job and didn't get away until 7:30pm. Based on my experience, I posted a negative a review on Angie's List. A week later, this company responded to that review with this outrageous claim that they did show up for the appointment, but I looked out the window and refused to open the door. Poor customer service, ditched appointments and despicable lies -- BUYER BEWARE! read more

I literally had the same experience as the first reviewer... only I got it twice and then when I called back again to schedule service (my mistake to think the third time would be the charm) the manager called me a liar and said I should just give them a bad review and move on. I've never worked with a worse company and cannot more strongly urge anyone considering working with Right A Way not to do it, not matter how good the coupon, discount, or deal they are offering. HIGHLY UNRELIABLE! I can't speak to the quality of their duct cleaning, mainly because they failed to provide the service they were contracted for. I obtained their services through Angies List. As an Angies List provider I expected wonderful things. What I got was a lost 1/2 day of work and no duct cleaning. After an hour of waiting (2-5:00 window), I called and was advised that they were on the way and would be there at 4:00. At 4:30 I called, and after 4-5 rings, they picked up and hung up the phone. Thinking just an error, I called back. They took the phone off the hook. I could hear noises, but after calling "hello" a number of times they never answered and eventually they hung up the phone. I continued to call twice more...4:45 and 5:15, and both calls went to voicemail. I lost a day of work, and I still don't have a cleaned ventilation system. read more

Our air ducts were full of plaster, drywall, and dust after a kitchen demo and renovation. We also had a pretty well blocked dryer vent, despite having just bought a new dryer. The Right-A-Way guys were great. Perfectly on time, good communicators, and thorough. They also fixed the positioning of our newly installed dryer vent to avoid the potential for condensation to gather and damage our dryer (for no extra charge). Also easy to schedule. Got here at time agreed upon. Polite and thorough. They found and cleaned things in vents (i.e., wood chips from floor install years prior) that had to have been in our vents the last time we had another company clean our vents 2 years earlier, which the other company missed. This is the worst company that I have ever contacted for services. First, it took several weeks to scheduled an appointment because no one at the company returns your phone call. Then I email the company and asked for a copy of the contract, no response. Then I calledand confirmed my appointment with Tim Carter two days before the team was scheduled to show u. Well, the team did not bother to show up to meet their contracted obligation. I had to call the Company to find out why they did not bother to show up. I took off from work to have my duct work cleaned and they did not show up and said that they would call me to reschedule. Where the customer service? I've already hired the firm to clean 7 times for my primary house and my several rental houses. They were professional and the jobs they did were very complete. Thus, I was very impressed. Service was booked through Wayne and cleaning completed by Darrell. Both were amazingly nice, professional and responsive. Darrell was extremely thorough with the cleaning, taking utmost case and respect of our property. He was extremely knowledgeable about the entire AC system and even provided us with sound advice. He took his time to make sure everything was done properly and correctly. I noticed some reviews complained about timeliness, I would attribute it to the fact that they are so thorough that they treat your property as their own so the service on our house took longer than expected. Our originally scheduled date had to be move because he was running behind on a house before us and we couldn't have him come later that day, but he promptly called to give us a heads up of that and worked with our schedule to pick a new time. We paid $279 to this company for an air duct cleaning, dryer vent cleaning, and chimney sweep package on Angie's List. The company came and saw that we were working on our house we had just bought and told us to call them back when we finished since our vents would get dirty again from the construction. They also told us not to worry about the expiration date of our package since we had set up an appointment and it was their advice that they should come back later. We listened to them, we thought they were so thoughtful and considerate. We rescheduled our second appointment before the expiration date of the package after we finished our construction. On the day of the appointment, the technician called us and canceled. We called to reschedule and the receptionist has ignored our calls for weeks, and now our package has expired. We continued to call until an employee answered and scheuled us for our third appointment for July 11th (today) at 9am. They are a no show and it's almost noon. They do not answer our calls. They have effectively collected our money with no work in return. I have three small children (4, 2, and 7 months) that are living in less than ideal air quality conditions (the previous owners were smokers). Had I known they would have done this to me, I would have at least had them clean the vents the first time they came since construction debris in the air vents is not as bad as the debris left in the air vents by the previous owners. At the very least I would have had this work done months ago instead of waiting around for this company (that has my money) that in the end didn't follow through. Meanwhile, I am down 279$ that I worked very hard for and that should have gone towards my children's sustenance. Instead, I am looking for a reputable company to do the same work I have already paid for. I am beyond angry, hurt, and taken advantage of. The worst part of this company is that if you have a disagreement with them there is no one you can get in contact with beyond the receptionist. No boss, no owner, not even a manager. If she doesn't like what you say, she just ignores you. There isn't even an acknowledgment that they won't do work for us since our package is expired. We have no idea what is going on or their rationalizations except for that we are being ignored. Terrible, terrible, terrible experience. This company was hired by the firm that manages our rental house, chosen because of great reviews on Angie's List. The job was a simple one: clean out our dryer ducts. They were easily the most disorganized group I've ever had to work with. At first they were going to make me wait a week to come, even though they said the dryer was probably a fire hazard and we shouldn't use it. I talked them into coming 3 days later instead, and they didn't show up on the scheduled day. They then rescheduled for the next day but couldn't complete the work that was needed. Finally, after several more days they scheduled a follow-up visit (I had to call them to do it) but didn't show up again. Whenever I called them I never got a central office -- it was always a guy sitting in a truck with papers scattered everywhere. They always asked me again for information they should already have had (such as my address), they confused me with someone else in a different state, and twice they didn't call my management company as they were supposed to do. It's been over two weeks and the job (which they call a simple one, 10-15 minutes max) still isn't done, so my management firm is going to drop them and find someone else. read more
