The service was excellent and the food was solid. My only criticism of this restaurant is that it may have ruined Italian food for me outside of little Italy in the Bronx. Everything about the experience was exceptional and worthwhile. I loved the aesthetic of the restaurant and the Frank Sinatra music playing in the background. Upon being seated, we were offered bread and butter to proceed our meal. We both ended up ordering pastas, my boyfriend got a carbonara , and I got a pasta with a light clam sauce. This restaurant makes their own pasta and sausage from scratch sourcing from high-quality ingredients. I left feeling happy as a clam and stuffed to the brim. Happy Holidays everybody. I find myself and my friends at Pasquale Rigoletto. The chicken parm was delicious, the bread crumbs had that authentic Italian taste. The chicken franchise was delicious and satisfying. And for you traditional Italians, I hade the tripe which was cooked to perfection followed by a light sweet tomato sauce. My girlfriend and I knew we were in trouble Sunday evening when they said they have ran out of baked clams and calamari. My entree was a veal chop. The worst veal chop I ever had in my life. So small, fatty, salty and it just looked old. It was $45. I wouldn't pay $15 for it. She had a piece of fish that was so small. No olive oil on the table for the basket of bread. It's been a very long while since I've been to Pasquale "Rigoletto's" on Arthur Avenue in the Bronx...and I'm glad that I/We returned. It hasn't changed much and I still find the joint to be charming and comfortable. It has a bit of a feeling of the past...a nostalgic charm. We were greeted friendly and warmly by Nick and the others and we were seated quickly. We ordered some appetizers of fried calamari, a large plate of baked clams, and a large plate of cold-Italian antipasto. All done and prepared very well and were all delicious. Nick sent us a nice sized tray of roasted peppers, olives and nice sized chunks of parmesan cheese (BTW...on the house)...which was very nice. Of course there was plenty of fresh Italian bread-sliced...I would imagine right there from Arthur Avenue. The waitresses were super nice, attentive and placed our dinner order promptly. They also have a nice selection of traditional Italian dishes to choose from. There were 6 of us that evening and we all ordered different dishes. Some pasta, some veal, some chicken, ect...all done perfectly and the dishes were full. They sent us a nice dish of broccoli rabe with oil and garlic as well. Also plenty of different wines to choose from and we all enjoyed quite a few glasses of merlot and pinot grigio. The waitress made sure our glasses were filled and the bread basket was always full. Then for dessert we ordered some espressos, cappuccinos, cheesecake and tiramisu. BTW, the prices are also very fair at Rigoletto's and they have parking around the back. So if you decide to go to the Bronx Zoo, Botanical Gardens, Yankee Game or what have you...stop in and have a late lunch/early dinner. You'll be glad ya did. Well worth the visit........ read more

What they did well: - fettuccine alfredo (which is not on the menu, but they will make for you) - the seasoned staff were friendly and social - clean restroom - parking Where they missed the mark: - service from the younger servers was adequate at best - food was inconsistent, specifically the penne was over cooked, the shrimp was over cooked, the vodka sauce was bland - the young lady clearing dishes legit reached in front of my face as I was taking a bite to clear a dish in the middle of the table TWICE - the bread was generic and the butter was ice cold so it tore the bread instead of spreading - the Coke was flat It wasn't as good as it was 9 years ago when last we were here, but the alfredo was as delicious as ever. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back, but I would get the alfredo again in a heartbeat if I was in the area. I should note I'm not a fan of alfredo in general so for me to give it rave reviews should indicate how good it is. 10/10 for that sauce. read more

All I knew was I was going to grab lunch somewhere on Arthur Avenue. I knew there were plenty of great options, but other than that I was just going to wander. Thankful for how things work out. I got to speaking to a gentleman named Phil at the Farmer's Market, and he recommended Pasquale Rigoletto for a truly old school Bronx Italian dining experience. He worked at the establishment and had been dining there himself since he was a little boy. I decided to take him up on his recommendation, not knowing any better, and man, am I glad I did! The ambiance is old school classic Bronx/NY Italian, as promised, and I was all in. Signed pictures of NY and other celebs at the restaurant hang proudly around the bar, and Frank, Dean and Bobby Darin all crooned as I dined. Just as it should be. I sat at the bar, as it was mid afternoon on a summer Thursday, and was quickly brought a beautiful basket of freshly baked, warm bread with olive oil, balsamic, crumbled sharp cheese and flavorful peppers. This alone would have a feast. I started with one of the appetizer specials, breaded mozzarella and prosciutto fried with a caper tapenade - a triumph. Really unique and perfect. For my entree in went with Phil's recommendation, and stayed on the special menu. The Rigatoni Arrabbiate was beyond perfect. I can't remember the last time I had such a delicious bowl of pasta. I was stuffed beyond belief, but had to try a sliver of the homemade ricotta cheesecake, and it was pillowy, flavorful and perfect. What a meal, what a feast. There is nothing like being able to sit at a restaurant for a few hours, going through bottles of wine and delicious food. We were able to do that on a Saturday afternoon and naturally had an amazing time. The wine helped! The best appetizer was a bowl of mussels in a red garlic sauce. You better believe that that bread got dunked in that sauce. Even the 1 year old was all about it! My entree, the braciole, was great and was served with excellent pasta. Everything had great flavor and you could tell all the food was made with high quality ingredients. The wine we selected matched perfectly to boot. Dessert was a tartufo split among us. Always a solid choice. I supplemented with lemoncello and an espresso with lemon peel. Needless to say, I walked out feeling 100% satisfied. One last note, Rigoletto has a suitable noise level; quiet enough to hear your conversation at the table but loud enough where having a young kid will not disrupt the people around you. This is just a neighborhood corner pizzeria/ Italian place with table service. The Food is mediocre at best. The service is meh. The server was couldn't care less about the service. Only the bus boys were present. I had zucchini blossom fritters and carbonara. Fritters had cheese inside and the cheese was frozen. Carbonara was oily and had no flavors. My husband's chicken was actually ok but just bunch of chicken peppers and sausage and no side. They don't really care about their food. This is just a tourist trap. I just sat down and the first thing I saw was a glass with big lipstick mark on it --- not mine. Yuck! We used to love it here back when service was better and dishes looked cleaner. They used to also give complimentary cheese and bruschetta. I asked the server and said they stopped doing that anymore. I hope they get better again. read more

Our group of seven had reservations for a Sunday evening. None of us had been but wanted to try out this restaurant since we were going to be in the area. We were seated right away and our server was very good about keeping our wine glasses full and the food kept coming our way. We started out with fried calamari, caprese and the cold antipasto for our appetizers. The fried calamari was a little tough. The caprese and antipasto were fine but nothing amazing. For our pasta course, we shared the gnocchi bolognese and the spaghetti alla carbonara. The gnocchi were really good - pillowy and fluffy. The sauce was just okay though - I felt like the sauce weighed the gnocchi down. The carbonara was fine but again, not amazing. For my entree, I had the jumbo broiled shrimp and the BF had the Pollo Alla Sorrentina (chicken with eggplant, prosciutto and cheese). My shrimp were fine but the BF was really disappointed with his chicken dish. One of our friends ordered the same dish but with veal instead of chicken and she also said she wished she had ordered something else. I think they were both probably expecting and hoping for a breaded, fried eggplant on the chicken. This was just a thin slice of eggplant on top of the chicken - kind of soggy. We were seated in a back dining room. There was another large party next to us and they had several young kids with them. The kids were screaming and running around. It would have been nice if the restaurant management would have asked that group to control their little ones. It was hard to enjoy our dinner while listening to that ruckus. Our dinner for the seven of us was $500 before tip. We all drank wine or beer. I guess that is a reasonable average price for dinner. I would give it another try - maybe not during the holidays or otherwise try out the lunch. read more

I attended a wedding rehearsal dinner at Pasquale Rigoletto recently. It was a rainy night, we were quite late and there were around 40 or more of us. Everything was still amazing! My parents love to go to this place and have been taking me for years for the real Italian feel in the restaurant. All the staff is friendly and welcoming and the place is always packed. The last few times though I have just felt the food is "okay" and nothing incredibly special. I usually get a pasta dish...which I can almost never finish since the plates are huge portions and the sauce is really rich. This time I got the "Spaghetti Alla Carbonara", made of bacon bits and a heavy cream sauce. I think I took like 4 bites and was full, but thats okay because more for leftovers right? My parents usually get one of the veal or fish dishes that they are always happy with. The food is good don't get me wrong, maybe just not anything too special as far as Italian cuisine goes. Very strong tasting cheddar. Cheese Ravioli with a Meatball and Sausage: Excellent ravioli. They taste house made and are worth ordering! It's great to be back to somewhat normal. Great to see many of the same staff still there. The food is as great as it always was. The fried calamari is great, some of the best I ever had.
