Whole chicken
Norman J.

I have passed by this particular restaurant on numerous occasions. And yesterday I decided to go inside to place an order. The decor of the restaurant was decent, the place wasn't a big restaurant. But they had seating in the back .I ordered a whole chicken with rice and beans, plantains a salad, and a few Peruvian green and white sauces. The chicken was seasoned just right ,beans and rice was on point, salad and plantains as well was tasty. The cashier was nice and courteous, and the prices weren't to high.

Does that look like half a chicken?

UPDATE: My Co-Worker was nice enough to share his meal with me and the bottom line of the food. Not great. The chicken itself was dry, Sweet Plantains were dry, no green sauce to compliment it. I am sadly disappointed in this place. Will not be coming back to this location. It's upsetting when a company orders lunch from this establishment. You would get what you ordered. 4 orders of the half chicken combo... with missing thighs? Who DOES THAT!? Missing green sauce... and one of order was completely crushed ... I have to throw my lunch out mainly cause half of it was in the plastic bag. It could easily be the delivery service...but, losing an entire thigh!? from 4 orders!? I know I'm ranting. But, this was poorly executed.

Chaufa de Carne

I wish I could have given a 5 star review but the one item ordered was underwhelming to say the least. I ordered a beef fried rice referred to as "chaufa de carne". I've included a photo and my iPhone makes all food look good. However, this fried rice included a sub par meat that was similar to chewing gum. Additionally, it only included clumps of white rice, salty taste of soy sauce, scallions, and scrambled egg. It was missing vegetables and flavor. I make this dish better myself and I'm not Peruvian. Even the green sauce didn't help. I won't be ordering from here again. By the way this one plate of rice was $18. Not worth it.

Our total bill, very affordable

Was on a double date with my girlfriend and friends on a Sunday night, roughly around 10 p.m, and we had such a difficult time finding a place to eat. Our first and back-up choices had closed, and we'd given up until we found this place on the monocle feature of the app. The shop is small and is very easy to miss. The front is very narrow and leads to maybe 4-5 tables with seating in the back. The space is bit tight but warn and comfortable. The staff is very friendly. Although most for he waitresses and cooks only speak Spanish, the language barrier is very manageable. They're very attentive and quick to take your order. They offered complimentary wine while waited and later when we were waiting for the bill. As for the food, it was all really good too. Two of us ordered the 1/2 chicken combo special with a side of avocado. The rice and beans were nothing special, and the plantains were not as sweet as I hoped they would be. The highlight of that dish was the chicken. The chicken was plentiful. It was savory and not dry. Our friend ordered the rice chaufa, and she loved it. She loved how much beef was put into the dish and loved the simplicity of it. Finally, our other friend was unsure of what to get, so he played it safe got a chicken cutlet with rice and fries. He had no complaints at all. This place is a gem, especially for late nights! Be on the look out for more gems in Jamaica, Queens.

Pescado frito
Natalie N.

I ordered the pescado frito to go. The dish came with white rice, fried fish, and yuca frita aka fried cassava. It also included the 'salad' which is more of diced tomatoes and sliced raw onions in a sweet dressing. The food was tasty but nothing crazy. Also the space in this particular location is on the smaller side; there is seating, however, the ambience is on the casual side.

The food is amazing here, but staffs attitudes are not so pleasant. I definitely do not feel welcomed whenever I order here in person.

We stopped in for an early Saturday dinner and were surprised to find the place completely empty…read more It felt like a hidden gem, especially given its years of Michelin recommendations. We shared the ceviche mixto, arroz con mariscos, and a dulce de leche dessert with tulle and cookies. The appetizer and entrée were excellent; the ceviche mixto was incredibly fresh, and the seafood in the arroz was perfectly cooked, with rice that was well-seasoned and flavorful. Unfortunately, the ice cream in the dessert was grainy, as if it had been sitting too long. This could have easily been a five-star experience. I wouldn't have held the dessert against them, but the service fell short. When we arrived, the server was on her phone and minimally attentive. Communication was a bit difficult, especially when asking about desserts which weren't on the menu. We had moved a candle from another table because it was so dark, and although she noticed, she didn't offer assistance. After dropping off our food, she didn't check on us at all and remained up front on her phone. She did inform us ahead of time that the credit card machine wasn't working, so payment would need to be cash or Zelle, which was fine. However, when we paid in cash, she didn't return with change, we had to ask for it, and she then disappeared to the back to retrieve it. The whole process was awkward. That said, the entrée was so good that I'd consider coming back to try more dishes...hopefully with better service next time.

So we decided to come check this place, it is advertised as a Michelin star place. We ordered two Chilcanos which is a Peruvian drink, and we had no choice to go with than mix ceviche. After almost 30 min waiting, we got our entrees, you could tell the shrimp was frozen and the rest was sliced red onions on a salty lime sauce. This place was not a good experience, it's small and run down, there's no light and we were so cold cause there was no heat. I don't recommend you guys to waste your time here. I still don't know wha they ever got a Michelin star. Let down.

Noches de Colombia is actually a chain with several locations in the tri-state area. I recently ate…read moreat the Queens location. Their locations are not fancy and are the Colombian equivalent of American diners. This means a big menu with a bakery section too. While there are better Colombian places out there, I found this place to be decent. For example, the portion size of their Bandeja Paisa was huge and everything tasted fresh. The pastries (bunuelos and pan de bono) were also good quality and fresh. If you're looking for a Colombian place to take the family that serves everything, Noches de Colombia fits the bill.

If I could give this place no stars I would. Came here on a Saturday with a party of 5 around 4:45…read morePM. Despite the place being relatively empty, we waited a bit to be seated. We were given an iPad each (to view the menu). When we asked for water they did not provide tapwater even though we asked for it and gave us a bottled water instead (that we had to pay for). After ordering the food it took approximately 30 minutes to arrive. The service was pretty slow. I ordered the carne asada with a side of frijoles since it only comes with white rice, sweet plantains and a potato. The meat itself was really hard to eat. It was very chewy and rough, not a good representation of Carne Asada. The white rice was just plain white rice. The potato had no seasoning on it, and the sweet plantains were super dry, which made them nasty and I couldn't even eat them. The beans had very little flavor or depth compared to other Colombian restaurants. There was no smoky or meat like savoriness, and it only had a very minimal hint of the usual aromatics. It also had a bit of a canned bean hint to it. Not very pleasant. Compared to other Colombian places I've had I would not come back to this place.
