Rileys Farm is an ambitious blending of history, nature, and fresh mountain air. The large property highlights Civil War-era culture on one side, and Revolutionary War-era lifestyle in another part of the acreage. Apple and berry picking, plus a pumpkin patch, are highlights. School groups take field trips up to Riley's during the week to experience the uniforms/clothing/customs of the day. On Saturdays, the rest of us can participate in activities like candlemaking or tomahawk throwing. The facilities close on Sundays, so no hayrides or BBQ for you then! The colonial-style Hawk's Head Publick House provides hearty meals in a setting for for the 1700's. In the upper property, a rustic barn offers BBQ and entertainment. Throughout the year, seasonal plays in a dinner theatre mode rotate to draw visitors up the mountain. One day, we'll also try one of their dance events. Free off-street parking is a plus. Several gift shops, plus the bakery, fill the desire to take something home. Raw honey, jams, fruit sauces, and other tasty treats satisfy as flavors from Oak Glen. If you're out in Oak Glenn for apple picking, you might as well make a stop here. Drive less than 5 minutes to Riley's at Los Rios Rancho for their U-pick pumpkin patch and corn maze. The maze even has a little twist. In order to get out, you'll have to collect four digits inside that will unlock the door to exit the maze. Full disclosure, the door was acting a little haywire on our visit and we could have probably just walked on through without a code. But we did actually have all the correct numbers! Most people take about 15 minutes to solve the course. We basically hit that average mark. But the kids working the stand said that someone made it through in less than 5 minutes. Clearly, they had their running shoes on (and did this course more than one time!). The corn maze is $8 per person. There are other activities throughout this sprawling complex including pumpkin picking in a patch. You actually get to cut it off the vine, unlike many other pumpkin patches where you just pick it up off the ground. read more

What a fantastic experience! I brought my family for the Old Joe Homestead Tour. Everyone, young and old, enjoyed the activities. Candle making, cider pressing, old games, chores, hay ride, making butter, it was all a good way to see what life was like long ago. The folks who work here are dressed in 19th century attire and act the part. This makes the experience extra fun! You can order food there or bring your own lunch. We brought snacks. Be sure to bring a water bottle! There's also a gift shop with lots to choose from. They have jam, raw honey, cider, apples (in November), a variety of toys, bonnets for little girls. I grew up in Northern California and went to Columbia State Park and Old Sac where it felt like a walk in The past. Southern California has limited experiences like this that are genuine and authentic. On Saturday, May 8th for my birthday- my girlfriend and I drove to Oak Glen and visited Riley Farms, etc. Oak Glen is right next to the city of Yucaipa. It's a small town with around 430 people, a lot of American flags, back the blue flags, military flags, and occasional crosses from time to time. It has a conservative feel to it and a town that is blatant to support American values. In some ways, this small town reminded me of Julian, if anyone has ever been there, both have that small community historic vibe to them, but vegetation is different. The houses in Oak Glen are beautiful, large two-story homes with acres of lush green land (front and back yard); it's hard to believe small towns like this exist in California. It's like taking a trip into the past with all the colonial homes. Essentially, there's a lot to do there for being a small town, so I suggest arriving on a Saturday, and early to explore everything. The farms close as early as 4:00 pm and the latest 6:00 pm. Adjacent to one of the farms, there's a beautiful park with a breathtaking view of the mountains to enjoy your food (which reminded me of Utah's mountains), they offer tri-tip, pulled pork, apple coleslaw, etc. And to the left side of the park, within walking distance, there is a beautiful "conservancy" that is free, so if you enjoy nature walks, and love watching the hummingbirds, and all the flowers, then you'll enjoy the trails the conservancy has to offer. And Across the street from there is a strawberry farm, and depending on what season you come, you can pick strawberries (what we did), raspberries, blackberries, apples, pears, and they even offer pumpkins from September to November. There are also activities for the children, such as "candle dipping" (which we did), archery, tomahawks, a gold rush, (mining for gold), and more. Moreover, the weather was beautiful. I loved the environment and culture, as well the live music and watching the children re-enactments our history of the militia fighting against and defeating Britain's King George's Army. Lastly, I am truly grateful to have spent quality time with my girlfriend at Riley's Farm, Oak Glen (our little getaway). I highly recommend Riley's farm. Anyone who supports American values will fall in love with this place as I have. My only wish is that there were more towns and places like this in Los Angeles. P.S. I forgot to mention the food at Rileys Farm -my girlfriend bought a Chicken Salad Sandwich for $6.50, I bought a Ham and Cheese Croissant, for $7.00, it was nice and warm, cheese melted, and sweet from the bread. What I was not fond of was the honey mustard they put on it which I was unaware of at the time. I did not like the bread for my girlfriends sandwich is fell apart easy into pieces which makes me think the bread was old, and the chicken salad flavor was whatever. We also got two small bags of chips, I got Cool Ranch Doritos and she got Lays which I believe came with it at no extra charge, and we both got two strawberry lemonade ($3.50 each). The food overall was nothing special, overpriced for the way it tastes but I support the farm, so I don't mind paying for it. The total cost came out to $21.50. read more

This review is specifically for a Dinner Entertainment Event....First time. Bought tickets for $50 pp for a Sleepy Hallow Interactive Dinner Play. You don't participate in the play but many activities interact between scenes and the actors stay in character all night. Food was mediocre. Mostly because we were the last group to go get our plates and all the food was cold. You get decent sized proportions and there is hot soup (everything is self serve style with an attendant that actually dishes your food) upon arrival. Corn chowder was very good. They also have pumpkin and chicken noodle soup. Hot cider, coffee, iced tea, water and lemonade are all available self serve all night long. It's worth the $50. You get tons of food, drinks, entertainment, activities, hay ride, games, pumpkin carving... You get to keep your pumpkin. (1 per family) We will definitely go back. Bathrooms are clean but there is only 4 available stalls for women and the line gets long. They could use some trash cans inside the barn for patrons to throw things away. There is a bar with beer, cider sangria (try it) and wine. Not included with tickets, additional charge. You can buy a 5 pound or 3 pound pie to take home. We visited during Colonial Faire 2023 and had such a wonderful time! It's family centered, educational and fun! Our kids just finished studying Colonial America and the Revolutionary War. So they were totally engrossed in the events happening around the premises. Kudos to the Colonial players. They were welcoming and stayed in character the entire time. All the kids had fun, learned and adults as well. They panned for gold, learned about bank notes, explosives used for mining and renting tools. I had a couple simple questions and was told by a very rude guy that was selling them to get in, that he wouldn't answer our questions unless we were buying a ticket first. Went there on July 4th and I was shocked at the conditions of the fowl and the goats. The goats have no shade and it was 100°. It would be so simple to install a shade sail over the pen. Since they don't even have a tree for shade. But the owner was sitting and drinking a glass of wine! The fowls were equally mistreated in a pen with just a little water for all the fowls. There were ducks, turkeys, hens and roosters. The hens were so badly abused by the rooster in there. The rooster has plucked out most of the hens back feathers! Just raw skin on those hens! Hot, dusty and such awful conditions! I'm very disturbed by it. read more

I received an email newsletter from the owners about vaccines being fake, the "commie-virus" (?), Arnold Schwarzenegger speaking in a fake Austrian accent (??), and other extremist conspiracy talking points. I've visited here twice before but I guess I'll be going to one of the other nearby farms instead that aren't super weird. Added an extra star because the chicken pot pie was good! The restaurant is cute but you may have to wait an hour to get in. And all the good apples are taken before the weather cools down, so you have to pick in the heat. read more

I wish I could rate it a 0 star review it WAS SO BAD and the food was overpriced almost 10 for a bag of chips and a kids burger, the burger was so bad no seasoning and not well cooked it tasted so blan the cheese was so nasty. There was a giant cookie for 3$ it was really big but it didn't taste like a cookie it mostly tasted like wheat flower no sweetness or anything and dry, I ESPECIALLY do not recommend you going in the spring/summer there is so much FLIES INSECTS,SCORPIONS,BEETLES OF ALL COLORS black/yellow and there was one me and everywhere in my hair it was so disgusting it was so hot too so that's why there so many insects in the air. It took almost 90 minutes to drive here for Apple picking. By the time we got there there were no apples to be picked, at any of the farms we visited. Unfortunately, the apples were few and far between this season - probably because of global warming (it was almost 90 degrees during high noon) Anyway, when we got here, we decided to shift gears and pumpkin pick instead. It was unseasonably hot and I can tell the crops were suffering from the heat. Fortunately we came early enough to find a couple of gems that are still attached to their vines. The pumpkins go for $.45 a pound, and they can process credit card payments with their newfangled iPad and square credit card app! They did have a rather large plot of land with multiple places to explore, including a Berry patch and colonial style houses. We had lunch here too, at the barbecue stand. It was pretty neat watching them roast meats in an open barbecue pit, but the enthusiasm waned when I saw the "Amish" employee without a commercial sized bottle of Mccormicks dry rub seasoning. The barbecue beef sandwich was pretty good, but the half rack of pork ribs was too dry. I spied an empty carton which says they got their meat shipments from a company called "city meats." Their Apple dumpling was rather interesting. They offered a whole Apple spiral cut in a flaky pastry. They topped the dumpling with freshly drizzled caramel sauce. This review is for the legend of sleepy Hollow dinner and hayride show. Online showtimes state 7 to 10 PM. However, when we arrived at 7 PM we were advised that the haunted hayride ended at 7 PM. Apparently we were supposed to arrive at 6:30 PM. Booking this event for three children really stirred up an issue as that was truly the sole reason we decided to spend the money to get tickets for our entire family. When we brought the issue up to one of the owners he stated that he would give us a refund during the show. When following up later he retracted what he stated and said that he could give us two free tickets for a future show. Keep in mind it was over $300 for our entire family to attend this. My kids were throwing a fit because of not being able to go to the main attraction (very little children) so we decided to leave early in which they were aware of. We did not enjoy the show and the most unfortunate part was how we we were treated following. The lady who works as a receptionist actually had the nerve to ask us was it really that bad of a show because your kids were throwing a fit and you didn't get a hayride? Shocking, and anyone with small children knows what we go through. At the end of the day it was a major discrepancy on their ticket website and they should truly own up to it. I have reported this to my credit card company so hopefully I can get service from that end. Will not be attending Riley's farm nor recommending them for future events. read more
