On my drive, the radiator hose blew off. Not having any tools with me. I called for help and get my car towed to my work. I reattached the radiator hose and filled the radiator with water. I tried starting it and sounded out of time and won't start. I tow it back to the shop and have them look at it. They tell me that It's complicated and I need to take it somewhere else. I'm really not seeing the value of what I paid for.

They recommended Quick stop and man what a great knowledgeable bunch they were! Figured it out within a few hours and we found out the engine was full of sludge. They dropped the oil pan, disassembled the front of the engine, cleaned everything up, new oil pump, pickup tube and screen, timing chain and gaskets including new antifreeze, all within 4 days! The truck runs better than ever and has great oil pressure again. All at a VERY reasonable cost! Wish you guys were closer to me in Beaverton, even with the distance, I will bring repairs all the way down to you when needed. When I took my Subaru in for an oil change, the tech didn't tighten the oil cap which popped off and blew oil all over my engine. Then, two weeks ago my Corvette wouldn't start, made a loud noise when I pushed the start button. AAA was not able to start it. Had to call a flat bed. Ken Scales did nothing for 2 days. On the third day they called and said the battery was dead. I told them I suspected something else was wrong because a dead battery makes no sound at all when you push the start button. I asked them to check everything having to do with starting the car that might have caused that noise. When they called to say they replaced the battery, I asked if they found what was causing the noise when pushing the start button. They said it was just a dead battery that's all, couldn't find anything else. This week, I drove the Corvette to Brookings, turned the engine off, but when I tried to start it again it made the same noise as before the new battery was installed. Worse yet, AAA said there were no AAA approved automotive service places within 30 miles, and they will only tow for 3 miles. I was terrified - 2 1/2 hours from home and no way to get there. After hitting the gas pedal a couple of times, I managed to get the car started, decided to try to make it home to Jacksonville. Took the car to Bob Thomas Automotive (BBB approved). They took the car right in, called me to say they hadn't found the problem yet, but assured me they would keep looking. Next morning their best technician called to say it took him 2 1/2 hours, but he finally found the problem. The grey wire to the fuel pump was loose. I will NEVER take my cars to Ken Scales again.

I knew it was a long shot that someone could squeeze me in that day but I decided to give them a shot after everyone else was all booked up. When I walked in and asked if they could change out my shocks the person behind the counter said he couldn't today, I told him I understood and started to walk out and be about my way. The guy behind the counter then decided to take a shot at me and said "Maybe next time try scheduling an appointment." I know slick talk when I hear it, so I turned around and explained that I was just in the area and needed to see if they could swap them out fast like. I wasn't even done explaining myself before the person behind the desk dodged his eyes from mine and continued to talk over/down to me while I was explaining myself. So I left and laughed it off but every time I'm in that area I can't help but remember the feeling I had when I left. Just felt unwelcome and like a bother. Not a very good first impression at all. I won't be coming back.

They were able to get my car in the next day diagnosed, and repaired while I waited. Tech did the repairs quickly,then took the car for a test drive and was quite concerned about a rear wheel bearing noise. He recommended a quick ck and decided bearing was finished.
