My cruise crew recently had breakfast at Rincon Criollo during an early morning visit to Miami, and it was one of the better dining experiences of our trip. From the moment we walked in, Judy and Diana made us feel genuinely welcome. They were the perfect hostesses--friendly, attentive, and incredibly accommodating, especially considering how early we arrived. Despite the early arrival(we literally waited outside for them to open doors), we were able to order everything we wanted from the menu. The food was good from start to finish. We ordered quite a variety of dishes for the crew as well wanted a bit of everything and everything was fresh, flavorful, and prepared with care. The standout items were definitely the beef and chicken empanadas, which were perfectly cooked with delicious fillings and just the right amount of seasoning. (However the ham Empanada was about my paper it tasted like ham in a can stuffed in crispy pastry) The omelets were great--generous portions, , and packed with ingredients. Before taking my first bite of breakfast, I started with a Cuban coffee, and that turned out to be one of the highlights of the entire meal. It was rich, bold, and exactly what I needed to get going in the morning. It did a great job of jump-starting my appetite and set the tone for an excellent breakfast experience. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal, which says a lot considering we had eaten at several Cuban restaurants throughout Miami during our visit. Rincon Criollo stood out as #2 of the 5 we visited more than a few of the other highly rated Cuban establishments we tried. And this was better than three of them. We came across this spot while in town--& we absolutely loved the atmosphere, the bar area outside is very cool. We actually did not go inside at all, so I cannot speak on how the inside look. This place is authentic. They even have a waitress that did not speak English (she experiences a rude customer, which I witnessed, and took her negativity out on other customers which is my reason for only 4 stars). The original waitress we had was AMAZING. The food was good, except they gave my son a spoiled burger which I didn't realize bc I didn't taste it until it was almost time to leave. No seasoning 3) I ordered the yuca on mojo, it taste bland and like I ate a spoon of oil 3) my salad was plain, not a pinch of dressing Maybe i excepted oil and vinegar at least . Came here since it was the nearest place to eat from our hotel. Definitely not the most organized place to eat. Their outdoor menu on the wall is completely different than the menu you get inside. Their staff was not friendly at all, nor were we greeted. Their staff also did not speak English so it was confusing to order. It is obviously a place for locals and employees of the Miami Airport. This restaurant was close to the hotel we were staying at, so we gave it a chance. We went on a Sunday evening around 3pm and was told we couldn't order from over half menu because they close at 4pm on Sunday. So we had to rethink our order. It a small neighborhood place which has the potential to be a nice spot to hang out. The service, let say if you go avoid the tall dark haired cuban waitress, she is horrible! Poor people skills and a lack of attention to customer needs. As for another server, hopefully so you the shorter on that is very friendly and attentive. She waited on us towards the end of our meal. Now for the meal. I had the lechon asado which they give you a huge portion, that they need to shred the port some more, the dish had huge chunks of pork that came across as dry, the beef empanadas were really good, the plantains and tostones were average, the sangria was nice, the tres leches cake was way to sweet and had the texture of bread pudding. If I'm ever in the area again, I won't go on a Sunday and will get empanadas and a beer and call it a day. read more

Our hotel offered shuttle service to Rincon Criollo, so we decided to try it while on an overnight layover in Miami. The shuttle wasn't even necessary as we decided to walk back instead of waiting for the shuttle. It was an easy, 10 minute walk with sidewalks to a handful of hotels near the airport. No trip to Miami is complete without some Cuban food, preferably a sandwich. The whole experience felt authentic. We sat outside on a breezy evening at a picnic table. I had a coconut water that was delivered ice cold and my dining companion had a Modelo. He had a steak with rice and beans and plantains, while I had a sandwich. We both enjoyed our meals and the prices were reasonable. We spent under $50 for two meals with drinks. The Cuban sandwich was basic, no frills. Served so fresh from the press it was too hot to eat. Service was quick and efficient. I don't know if I would go out of my way for this restaurant, but would happily return for a quick fix of Cuban food near the airport. read more

No issues getting whatever we wanted. I had the masas de puerco with rice, beans, and tostones .. my wife had the pork lechon with rice, beans, and plantain chips ... our daughter had the ham n cheese sandwich with sausages on the side. 3) The food was made quickly and was damn good 4) The fresh squeezed juices were so good, I had passion fruit and the wife had mango 5) Everything was DIRT CHEAP! Everything above plus a strawberry shake was $46 ... they did add a 15% service charge but that was only $6, no big deal given how inexpensive this place is. This place is small, but packs a punch with flavor! I ordered the Cuban coffee and a Cuban sandwich. This is a family owned restaurant in the middle of an industrial area near Miami Airport. We stayed at a nearby hotel for one night due to early morning flight. Decided to give this place a try. Took an UBER to and from this place. It is very basic furniture and not much ambiance. But the food was authentic Cuban and absolutely delicious. The service was also outstanding. Our server spoke English and took the time to answer all our questions regarding food choices. We ordered the shrimp dish that was delicious. We also ordered two types of flan for dessert. We loved the atmosphere, it was small but homey and they also had outside seating too. The waitress we had was very nice and she made a drink for us that wasn't on the menu. She was very informative and seemed all of our questions about their menu and about Miami as tourists with patience and kindness. The food was very good and the prices were very fair. We paid $108 when we got 3 meals, 3 drinks, a milkshake, and a dessert. Each big meal also comes with three free sides, plus the tip was already included. This place is definitely worth a visit, especially if you're near the airport! We ordered through grub hub and got our order hot and fresh. I got the fried pork chunks and it was fantastic! The pork was so tender and juicy. Full of flavor. The rice beans and plantains were great too. I also ordered ceviche and they didn't give me chips for it which was annoying. We also ordered papa rellanos and they were bomb!! Soooo good wish we would've ordered more. The Cuban was good and so was this meat n cheese croissant. BEWARE menu has a price and they charge you more. This restaurant is really good. I think it gets slept on because of its location. It's right by the Miami airport so it's hard to get to. They also don't have many people here that speak English but if you get past those two things it's really good. I worked in Miami for a month and it was my breakfast spot every morning. It was just that good. The other good thing is that if you're into cigars they have a really good selection. It's kind of an underrated feature of this restaurant. I love it because I can get 5-7 South American cigars for less than $25. That's a steal for anyone who regularly smokes cigars. read more
