Cute restaurant that feels very homey. They could definitely use better lighting in the dining area, but the food was excellent. My husband got the seafood and meat platter with casamiento (which is by far the best beans and rice I've tried at a restaurant). He really enjoyed it and had some of my appetizer platter which was super tasty. The server was friendly and made conversation with us which I appreciated. One thing is I would suggest is having music play more, as they had the tv on for most of the time. When they played music, my husband and I got up and danced! It was nice and felt like home. I had the pleasure to have lunch here with my family today. Every dish we had and drink was absolutely delicious with out a doubt will be back, I did forget to take Pics but will be back and take some, I had the Marinera soup it was creamy and full of flavor, my dad and grandpa had the carne asada, meat was tender and juicy my mother had the taquitos de pollo, my grandma had the camarones al ajillo which were bursting with flavor. Los Paisanos is an interesting culinary haven seated at Little Havana's outskirt. I came in expecting traditional Cuban cuisine but was gladly surprised to encounter a Honduran gourmet selection. Everything here - from the cozy closet-sized dining space to the graceful service has well exceeded my expectations. I ended up having the Bistec con encebollados which was out of this world. Three sides accompany the entree, of which I would most highly recommend the Yuca Frita (Fried Yuca). Looking forward to visiting this place more often! read more

Went for late lunch yesterday. Ordered a baleada con carne, a parrillada familiar, 2 heinekens and 2 moras. The service started out a little slow but was was very friendly and attentive once the food came out. The Baleada was perfection. Didn't survive long enough to take a picture of! The Parillada Familiar included steak, chicken, pork, sausage, fried green plantains, fried chips over a bowl of refried beans and cheese, avocado, tomatoes, and fresh salsa ( I think that's everything!). Each table has a jar of spicy, pickled vegetables (curtido) which is also delicious. Do note that the bathrooms are accessed through the outside of the restaurant so you do need to ask for a key if you need to go. Yes, the neighborhood is sketchy, but the ambiance inside the restaurant is very family oriented and the staff is professional. Really, more like 4.5 stars. What the restaurant lacks in square footage it makes up by packing a heavyweight punch in food quality and service. Actually, the diminutive size correlates with the "homie" feel and vibe of the place while the friendly and attentive staff tie the whole "home style" experience altogether. What I love about this locale is that the portion sizes are HUGE. You get so much food for your money it's not even funny. The coconut fish here is my favorite. I went to Los Paisanos on a slow day, it was a weekday and it a bit after lunch so the place was practically empty I order some central american platter and it was ok, the biggest problem was the wait, the place was not even full and it took them over 35 minutes to serve a simple plate of re-fried beans with meat. No fancy frills or gimmicks, just an incredibly gracious and helpful staff who wants nothing more than for you to have a good experience. Decent selection of well priced cervesa's (including bud light for the less adventurous). the atmosphere is very relaxed with soccer on the television and the locals chatting and joking with the staff. The food was simple and straightforward. I had the carne asade which came with your choice of three sides. The meat was very tasty and the homemade pickled salsa(not too spicy) made a nice accompaniment to the rice. I would love to come back and try some of the other dishes. The staff was very attentive making good recommendations on authentic Honduran dishes, and we enjoyed everything that was ordered. The preparation of our dinners was careful. Our fish dishes tasted very fresh with the right amount of vegetable. The amount of food was more than sufficient. There were two plates for each person who ordered. And the pricing was extremely reasonable. Our part of 4 with is an appetizer; main course;beer; coffee; dessert; came to $25 + tip per person. It's kind of a hole in the wall Honduran place. I ordered the Horchata (rice drink), Enchilada, and Baleada. All were delicious, and the Horchata was the best one I've tasted in Miami! Having been to a few other Honduran or Central American restaurants, I was always disappointed by theirs. Being Honduran, I grew up drinking homemade Horchata, and eating Baleadas almost weekly, and this one definitely reminded me of home. We had never had the pleasure of eating Honduran cuisine before and I can honestly say that after having dinner at Los Paisanos I didn't know what I was missing! It has a great atmosphere right as you walk in. The staff and owners greet and take great care of you like friends! The food is really good and served in good time. I love there carne asada!
