The farofa was exquisite and we even got to take home a few perks (maybe because they were going to close and wanted to treat us), we also took home some of their spicy olive oil, and left overs from our dinner. I was gonna give a 4-star review because our medium cooked churrasquinho arrived fully cooked and bit too salty, but... I'll give them chance to redeem themselves. I spotted this place while having lunch at the Greek restaurant in front. I told myself I had to come back and try it out. We ordered the coxinha de Franco which is a Brazilian croquette stuffed with cheese, not bad. I also ordered the special chicken parmigiana that came with white rice and fries. The chicken was moist, topped with marinara and cheese. It was excellently executed. The waitress was nice but a bit slow. My coworker explained we were in a bit of a hurry and needed to pay right away and get boxes for our food. Although she acknowledged what we said she still took her sweet time and caused us to be late to work. Well not entirely her fault, I still haven't figured out the metro mover route. read more

If you are coming here for what you have seen on Instagram, see the menu recently uploaded. They have a new menu. It's small and not everything provided in the past is available. So I've gotten into the habit of following different restaurants on Instagram and drooling over the photos they post. So somehow I came across Var Da Villa and knew I wanted to check it out when I was going to be visiting Miami. My friends and I came in around 8pm on a Friday evening. We were excited to dine somewhere away from South Beach. There is a great outside seating area; however, it was a fairly chilly evening so we opted to sit inside. We were immediately greeted by the bartender who was friendly and had a bubbly personality. The atmosphere was fun and laid back. We checked out the menus and decided on our drinks and entrees. The drink I ordered was tasty. For my meal I ordered the Pichana Completa ($15)which is a steak that came with rice, beans, and French fries. The steak was cooked to perfect and was totally filling. Our server was friendly and attentive; however he was not that knowledgeable/ had a hard time explaining some of the items on the menu. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience here and I'd definitely return. I know that on certain nights they have live music and salsa dancing. I'd definitely return and would love to come on a warmer evening so I could sit outside. I totally recommend this to anyone who is in Miami and looking for a good Brazilian meal. read more

We had finished dinner at a near by restaurant and decided to walk around and stumbled upon Bar Da Vila. The place is cozy with plenty of outdoor seating. We had few caipirinha drinks made with sake, because the place doesn't not have liquor license. John, out server/bar tender is from Holland, spoke Portuguese and English and was super accommodating. Drinks: Strawberry caipiwine: it was good, but it reminded me slightly of a strawberry flavored manishewitz. Kiwi caipiwine: this one was much better. Would definitely recommend if you like kiwi! Dishes: Caldinho feijoada: A little disappointing since neither the beans nor the meat were particularly tasty. Chicken strogonoff: tasty chicken and mushrooms in a nice creamy tomato sauce. Accompanied by tiny sized potato chips, super delicious. Such a huge portion that I was able to get full after eating half of the entree, taking the rest to go. Picanha completa: Very delicious cut of picanha with fries, rice, and beans. Got the medium rare pretty spot on, nice and seated on the outside and red on the inside. Beef was nice and tender. We didn't order dessert because we were too full, but the options looked good! After we finished our meal, we were treated to a drink with kahlua and baileys. The drink was great! Wow. Never again. Food took HOURS to arrive, had to repeat our orders on no less than 4 separate occasions, and to top it all off, they brought one plate and left the rest of my table with no food for about an hour. When it finally arrived, it was cold and undercooked. The icing on the cake, however, was when they said they needed our table in order to make room for the live music. Mind you not everyone in our party had even had their food yet, and the tab was no less than $200, yet they took our table and basically left half of our party with nowhere to sit. We made a reservation for 30 people a week in advance, were assured everything would be ready, and instead arrived to inadequate seating and an incompetent wait staff. Terrible service, subpar food, and overall just a horrendous experience. If you enjoy cold food and terrible service, then this is the perfect place for you. read more

Cute little place hidden in Brickell. Loved the vibe and the service was quick and very attentive. My boyfriend and I shared the Picanha Steak Fatiada, it was delicious! It's Picanha steak sliced up with fried yuca and farofa on top. Not to mention we added their famous raclette cheese on top, AMAZING! You definitely have to be a cheese lover for that one. We sat down on our own, seems a bit short staffed. I chose the Sakerinha with Picanha and fries as an appetizer. The food was impeccable, although the service seemed back tracked the whole time. The portions are good for a couple to share and the drink was, a bit heavy on the strawberries and taste of alcohol. The ambiance was casual and has a rustic feel in the alley it is located. Very relaxed and friendly environment. We ordered the Pichana na Chao to share and paid extra for the cheese. The cheese and meat with yuca was tasty but nothing over the top. The pastries were really well prepared and tasty as well. The dessert was amazing, definitely recommend the Nutella dessert. Now for the sad and disappointing part. I guess they don't have a full liquor license so they only sell wine and beer, which gave them the idea to Sell Sakerinha which is a Caipirinha with Sake. Horrible horrible horrible drink, if anyone tell them these are good they are defiantly being polite. Stop pushing these drinks in an effort to bring the Brazilian dining experience together. First of all, the restaurant is located in a charming tiny tiny village in Downtown Miami. The restaurant is very cozy with sits in and outside. Very friendly staff and the food? The food was amazing! We had coxinha, pastel, mandioca and bolinho the queijo. They were all very nice, crunchy (the "crunchiest" ever!) and they were not drenched in oil as I usually think fried food is. I am coming back for sure! Was really excited to try this place, as a Brazilian I love to find new cool spots to eat food from my hometown. The place is cute to hang out with friends but the food was disappointing. We ordered Caldinho de Feijão (black bean soup) and it was def not like in Brazil (usually it's blended), it had little pieces I guess from seasoning and beans but it was just not what you expect from that dish. We also got Chicken Strogonoff, that I'm obsessed with, and the chicken pieces had a weird consistency, hard to chew. The sauce wasn't really like a strogonoff sauce, but anyway.. We had Sakerinha (Caipirinha + Sake) and that was really good! Surprisingly a Brazilian bar didn't have Cachaça, which was weird, but the Sake made up for it. The food/menu def needs improvement, hopefully it will change because I really liked the spot. read more

What a cute, hidden gem in Downtown Miami! I came across Bar Da Vila on Instagram as their Raclette Cheese videos kept showing up on the local hashtags. If you've seen them, then you know what I'm talking about. What I love the most is the location. It really is like a little village, and is particularly charming during the evening when the lights come on. The vibe is casual, the food is flavorful and plenty, and the restaurant itself is charming. If you know Brazilian food, then you know meats are a big part of the menu. You really cannot go wrong with any of the items. The focus is on comfort food and on having a good time. I know they have live performances by Brazilian artists during the weekends. Unfortunately, the two times that I have visited, I've missed the performances, which I heard are amazing and where everyone dances (visit their Instagram page). Be sure to have your camera ready when they bring out the Raclette! It's a fun experience and indulgence. I highly recommend for a casual night out, and for happy hour. read more
