Keep the bid honest and true as to what u will do!!! They did not make the siding on the garage side appealing. There are cracks that we are still trying to fix. They promised to not worry about anything! They would take care of the lamps, kayak, stuff removal of everything against the wall of the shed and the breezeway. They did not do shit in this reguard. When I called them to repair garage side they said that they sent someone, but that person never showed up. The email returned stated that they will look into it. I had a great experience here both times I shopped here. They helped me out on some technical issues and also got the saw I was looking for. (Stihl 400) They have good stock, great knowledge, and were friendly. They definitely have that "authorized dealer" vibe going on for premium tools, so don't bring your broke ass box store crap here for repair! Had a great experience when I reached out for some help with a Honda Mower with back wheels that were locking up. Was told it would be about a month to get service (which is reasonable as it is that time of year). Brett also mentioned to me that I might simply loosen a nut on the cable running up the side of the handle. He took the time to explain the process to me in detail. Well, it worked like a charm and the mower is back to working like normal. He did not have to take the time but he did and it is insanely appreciated. I also live in Rincon Valley. I have gone to Rincon Valley Garden on three different occasions for questions about repairing my old Murray Lawnmower, chainsaw oil and fixing a broken rope pull on my Homelite Super E-Z chainsaw. The WT lady at the front counter has always been rude and not very interested in helping. I now will travel past Rincon Valley Garden and drive clear across town to Fulwider Outdoor Power Equipment. They have been very helpful and have been able to service all my needs no matter how old my equipment is. With the Internet and other local small engine repair shops one would think these places would beg for our business. read more

I couldn't agree more with the other reviewers who mentioned how rudely they were treated. I live in Rincon Valley and wanted to keep my business as local as possible, to not only support my neighbors but also to avoid driving across town if possible. My husband and I took our lawnmower down to Rincon Valley Yard and Garden yesterday (11-20-14). We wanted to get the carburetor cleaned and a general tune-up. I don't know if it was the owner of the shop or not....I can only imagine it must have been, o employee would ever keep their job if they were so rude to customers. The woman was very sarcastic to my husband who wanted to explain what we wanted done to our lawnmower which is one year old this month. The woman cut my husband off as he spoke and said "No, let me tell YOU what we will do!" She went on to explain that they do not clean carburetors, but that they would be replacing it for $50-$100 depending on the carburetor. She said they would charge a $45 diagnostic fee to determine the cost to replace the carburetor. My husband tried to explain that he didn't need a diagnostic, but wanted it the carb cleaned, blades sharpened etc, again she demanded that they would only replace the carburetor and not clean it. We left and drove *across town* to Bill's where our lawn mower is receiving a tune-up. read more

I have tried other shops; they do not compare. The girl in the parts department speaks the language of my business, understands what is needed and always gets it right... saving me time and money in the long run. Purchased a large Sthil saw here last year.Have bought a number of saws over the years. I had difficulty starting last week so brought it to store owner. Asked him look it over but he wouldnt even try to start it. He said to pay $45 in advance and he will look at it and call tomorrow. Next day I came by and his assistant said it started fine as I had just flooded it. They refused any refund or credit. Whenever I go in there the owner is always a grouch. They just want to sell new stuff and really don't want you coming back for advise or repairs. I wont be back because he's always got an attitude. read more

When I was looking to have several Stihl tools serviced/fixed, I was surprised by the number of negative evaluations regarding Rincon Valley Yard and Garden. This is something that heavily influences my decisions when using Yelp. My friend and professional gardener, however, recommended them based on his own experience there. My experience there was excellent. The woman at the counter and the man from the shop area were friendly, explained what they would do and told me they would probably have a diagnosis in 2 weeks. Four days later, I got a call and an email saying it was ready for pickup. I hadn't serviced the weed whacker for 6 years of steady use and that was all that was needed. The chainsaw I brought in was in need of major repair. The repair guy checked it out and thought it wasn't worth repairing and advised against it. And he didn't rush to sell me a replacement. All in all, my experience at R.V.Y.G. was very pleasant and are now my place to go to for small engine repair and service. read more

Small engine repair is difficult but they know how to repair engines quickly. But Rincon Valley Yard and Garden is a modern day business meaning they charge $90.00/hr, are not open on the weekends and do not give discounts or negotiate pricing. For example, you could spend $90.00 to get your chainsaw repaired and it doesn't work properly, take it back a couple times and then consider buying a new saw from them and there is no discount. read more

I wish I had read the ONLY review of this business before going there. Asked for a simple repair that would have required a little cleaning, and would have cost very little. Could have done it myself, but just didn't want to bother. How stupid can one be. Got the "repair" and also got a complete and unnecessary oil change, air filter replacement, etc. The bill (labor at $98 per hour!) turned out to be more than the yard implement was worth! Stay away. I would rather drive to Cloverdale or Ukiah rather than go to this place.Owner is not friendly, i have been a customer for along time but finally switched to the other dealer on piner road.Much better.I took a saw to the Rincon vally store, owner said It cant be fixed and tried to sell me a $600 saw .Tis was the second time it happened.No more cuz now I don't go there.This place is an embarassment for Stihl and should close up.How it stays in business is a mystery.....DONT GO HERE avoid at all cost. read more
