    Caldo de pata

Came here on a Sunday for lunch with my parents it's very small place thus the name rinconcito. We sat outside the inside of the restaurant was full. I ordered coctel de camarón which was satisfying due to my craving. My husband ordered pupasas de queso which where very good. The rest ordered a breakfast plate with fried plantains and pupusas, enchiladas plate, and Caldo de pata. Overall everything was very tasty my only problem was that 10 minutes into our meal a small whirlwind came along and sand got on our food and on us. Just be careful when it's windy. Other than that good service and don't come super hungry because they make the food fresh so you'll have to wait a while (20 so minutes)

This place is very homey! The people who come in are quickly recognized by name so they have the same daily customers basically! The waitress is extremely kind and very attentive. The food is great, it's like you are having a home cooked meal. We order two burgers with fries and their special which came with two pupusa's, plátanos and cream. Their curtido is to die for!! I will definitely be back!

They have everything from marinated steak, seasoned sautéed shrimp, fried fish to tamales, chicken, fried bananas and my favorite Papusas! I tried the cheese Papusas. It was my first dine at this restaurant and it was delicious. The buttery notes I detected in the Papusas were quite a surprise. I wanted more but I could only eat two! Their Papusas are modestly priced at 2 Papusas for $6 served with cabbage, chips and salsa. The owner, who is a delightful man named Jose created the Papusas fresh, and also made me a Michelada. Now, I am very selective on Michelada's. There is really only one place that I love and trust to make a Michelada authenticate. I have to say he did it! Michelada with a touch of flame flavor, to lemony notes, tamarindo, and clamato served with a premium beer. And here's the surprise... At a small cost of only $5.95! I usually pay $8 at the other restaraunt I love. I give this place a YES! I will definately be back.

I had seen my bartender at THD and at both of my gyms and would've never imagined him to be so skillful in the mix. I was told he is so amazing to the point where he has people following him. I say this because the lovely couple I met today told me they met with LUIS a while ago and have kept in contact to the point they follow where he goes and this is them knowing him over YEARS and now he is here!!! I had no food just grown up juice. LUIS'S first drink served a punch only because my coworker asked for it before I got there, but even though it had a kick it was WHISKEY SOUR APPROVED! I did ask LUIS if he made his sours with egg white and he ran to the kithcen and made my drink the way I LOVE!!! Perfect drink perfect, perfect pour what more cane you aske for!!! Yes I did ask LUIS if I can record him and he gave his consent. Thank you Luis.

Service was fast, food was super yummy aside from the octopus i had which was chewy? Im not sure if octopus is normally that texture, i thought itd be more like calamari which i love. Desert was yum too. I got a free slice of flan but the their sparkler candle fizzled out before the end of the bday song which was a lil awkward lol Really cool vibe of this place, i sat on a really comfy sofa with pillows and my husband sat across from me in like a couch chair haha. Dim lighting for sure but I think it just adds to the ambiance. Also there was a cool looking bar. Maybe would go back on a weekend next time later in the evening to experience this place at its peak.

Upon walking into the restaurant you are just immediately looking up and admiring the decor and aesthetic. Zama just exudes vibes of Tulum, Ibiza, and truly just a beautiful tropical background. It was a party of one and I asked for bar dining and tbh, I think that's the prettiest area of the restaurant. The space is massive so be surprised to see just how big it is. Now when it comes to the service itself, you are in for a top-notch experience. The food was so good and the menu was very well thought out. A highlight was the presentation of the drinks including the smoked old fashioneds. This is a must if you're a local or visiting Bakersfield.

I did not expect to like this place--truth be told, I was prejudiced, because the photos I'd seen…read moreof the menu all looked incredibly expensive, and too often, attempts to "elevate" Latin American cuisine come off as pretentious when the market is saturated with Mexican restaurants. Not to mention, the people of Bakersfield are not known for having good taste overall, so when a high end restaurant comes in, I find people raving about overpriced mid tier food. With these prejudices in mind, I went with my husband to only get cocktails, expecting something pricey but hopefully good. I was so pleasantly surprised by my time there! We ordered two cocktails and one appetizer, the chorizo croquettes. The chorizo croquettes are served in five pieces, a perfectly shareable size for two people, just a few bites, but holy moly are they good. Presentation IS a big priority for all the dishes, and everything on the menu has creative twists on familiar dishes, so you can be sure they have a unique culinary identity. I can tell that the servers have pretty good synchronicity and communication and this place is blessedly NOT understaffed. Everyone there seems to take a lot of pride in the food and the service, and I really enjoyed talking to their head bartender. Attention to details here is immaculate. Overall it's incredibly impressive. Even though buying dinner was not in our budget, I think I'm going to have to come back here for a special occasion, when I'm prepared to drop like $400 on a dinner for five people. It's unusual to find a high end dining experience in Bakersfield that's actually worth the price. My stomach yearns for what my wallet cannot support.

This spot was tucked away, and I'm told the building was formerly an iHop? However the chairs looked like they belonged to an Asian restaurant because they had an image of ramen on them. There was plenty of seating and plenty of screens to watch games or telenovelas. When we stepped inside we were immediately greeted and asked to sit anywhere. (We were greeted in Spanish, and it seems like that was the primary language spoken there. So if you're not that fluent in Spanish, be prepared to either bring someone with you who is or brush up on the basics.) They got us menus and we were able to get what we came for -- PAPUSAS! They gave us complimentary chips and salsa while we waiting. And brought out two tubs of condiments for the papusas -- salsa de rojo y curtido (a pickled cabbage mixture). These tubs were huge, but were perfect to pass around the table. I ordered the papusa loca, which was truly massive and did not disappoint. There were peppers in it, but it was the right amount of spice. Really enjoyed it! Go give the a visit!

The building next-door is unoccupied and looks creepy . The restaurant windows are covered with graphics so you can't see inside and I wasn't sure if it was opened or not due to this. After entering the hostess came up to me I was sat right away. There was one other couple there. Order was taken food came out in a timely manner. I waited about 15 minutes. First time I've been to a Salvadoran restaurant where they actually brought out a tub of the cabbage and a tub of the sauce. Food was excellent. The only issue is I had to wait about 15 minutes to get my check. Other than that definitely a great spot to eat if you want some Salvadoran food.
