This place was definitely worth the drive. LUCY was so attentive and kind. The Food was so tasty and cooked to perfection. We were a party of 9. We ordered costillita de Puerco, Quesadilla , shrimp Tacos, Hotdogs, Burrito mojado, Torta, etc. We all shared a bite and agreed the food has really good taste. our favorite was the costillitas de puerco, super spicy! the location is small, few seating tables. when in bakersfield stop by for some delicious mexican food.

We found this little place and we decided to go give it a try. Its small but they are so kind and attentive. From the time we entered ordered till we finished our meal. The food is great, and prices fair. Service was great and the chile sauces I loved. The place is clean and very nicely decorated. There are about 5 tables that seat 4 each. We definitely plan on returning for another shot to taste more authentic things on the menu.

I thought I tried everything here but here we go with my big back inventions. The number 1 is normally with shrimp but I customize it with asada and pastor. Amazing amazing amazing!!!

So came to have a quick bite to eat and heard that this place has really good bead tacos so I wanted to come and try it. It is a cute little vibe, but they only have canned sodas and you have to ask if you could have ice and it seemed like there was an issue just to ask for a cup of ice.. so I receive my tacos and it had like little tiny pieces of birria and I asked the server I said is this how you guys always serve your tacos and she began to ask the manager I'm assuming or the owner and she came and she said that's how it's made. I don't know what to tell you and I was like OK I was like confused because I expected meat in my taco not pieces of meat cane $40 for two plates but with scraps of meat and she was so rude about it didn't say hey let me make it again and I'm not sure if it's because she thinks that I don't speak Spanish or understand Spanish, which I'm very fluent in, but she had no care in the world and I'm pretty sure if I was Mexican it wouldn't be the same energy so it definitely do not recommend this place especially I have no problem paying for an $80 steak that's delicious but if you're going to charge and have these prices, make sure that your food delivers the satisfaction

Garcia's Mexican Grill is a such a hidden gem! Beautifully decorated, tropical atmosphere, and the friendliest cook you'll ever meet. The food is absolutely exquisite and authentic, felt like it was made by someone who grew up cooking for the world's luckiest children. The food was a chef's kiss. Can't wait to come back!

Okay this place needs more traction. It's not very visible and quite lowkey but these fries are bomb! Seeing as I'm on this side pretty often this is 100% in the weekly lunch rotation. Whatever sauce they put on these fries freaking hit. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside! Amazing!

So a bit of an update, I would say it's a hit and miss when you decide to dine in. Usually we order ahead so our food is ready for pick up, we don't eat in but the one time I recommended this place to my mom and we decided to have lunch here.. well it wasn't the best experience. There was a group of 3 ahead of us, then us and then another group of 2 came in a couple minutes after us. The group of 3 got their order first of course, so we thought okay cool we're next.. well she ended up bring out the wrong order to us and then looked at us all surprised when we told her that isn't what we ordered and when she asked what we ordered she was saying that it wasn't showing up in the system (we ordered through the kiosk) and it ended up being the other group of 2 order that came in after us. We waited a total of 45 minutes to get 2 plates.. the food was good don't get me wrong but the wait time it took for food to be made and brought to us wouldn't keep us from dining in the future nor recommending this place as a sit down restaurant or dining. Probably will keep ordering over the phone but not in store. Oh! Also, there is only 1 salt shaker everyone must share, no salt packets as well & your food might or might not look like the photos.. or maybe it was just mines since we already waited so long maybe they just quickly made it. Just slightly disappointed since I hyped up this place.

What a great little jewel to find in Bakersfield! The owner is so nice and really went above and beyond to make this place a cute and fun dining experience! I recommend stopping here if you get the chance! Great customer service and great food! The place is decorated so cute and he really had great attention to detail. I will definitely stop back by the next time I'm in town. I can't do spicy, so he kept giving me samples of the different sauces before I ordered to make sure things weren't too spicy before I ordered them. Such a great guy! Check it out!

Amazing chilaquiles con Pastor! Nice little place and friendly people. The food with a small drink came out to about $16. Definitely worth it. I'll be coming back for sure.

They load you up with meat that are all cleverly seasoned and prepared. Asada has smokey taste to it that I think some places lack. Pastor has the perfect blend of sweet and spicy . Buche is savory and doesn't feel like you're even eating offal. Everything is loaded up! The loaded potato has about a 1/2" lb of meat or more. The quesadillas are plump! Meat almost falls out. Sauces and other accompaniments are self serve and you can get as much as you want. Their chipotle salsa is spicy but damn is it good. They even have spicy onions that I never see. While you wait for your meal and watch the taquero at work, they have beans, tostadas, nopal, grilled onions and jalapenos all just sitting there FOR FREE. They also have some tiny potatoes soaking in the meat juices if you're lucky enough that they haven't run out (also for free!). The experience is just so customer forward and this is a gem that I hope expands even more. They have deals every week from buy one get one tortas, $1 tacos at a certain day at each location. It's often they have a line so consider yourself blessed if there isn't.

The place is pretty easy to find on the corner of 18th & R. There isn't a lot of seating for more than parties of 4. We were a party of 6 and we all smooshed into a horseshoe booth inside. There are only 2 of these booths available and they indicated they are not able to place additional seating at the booths. I imagine you might be able to put tables together outside for a larger party. We were greeted warmly, and while I felt overwhelmed by the amazing choices, the gal taking our order put me at ease by walking me through the menu board. We got amazing carnitas quesadillas and tacos and another dish that came on top of a mound of delicious fries. It's the kind of place where you order, then sit down and they bring you the food. We were well taken care of. Our drinks were refilled and they brought us 'to go' boxes. Their portions are generous and just tasty. And the iced tea was perfect! We ordered a full order of chips and salsa. That is extra. It was $6 for a full order ($5 for half) and these chips were well worth the cost. We will be back!

We had a hard time finding it at first, but it's located in the parking lot of South Union Mini Mart. There's a lot of different taco trucks on Union, so make sure you don't pass this one up. Parking isn't really an issue, so don't worry about that. Staff is really nice. The first time we visited the young lady that took our order was very friendly and interactive. She had a nice warm personality so you feel welcomed when you visit. The owner, I didn't catch his name but he's literally cooking the food in the back. He's super friendly and also made us feel welcomed. Even though they are wayyyy out there on Union, they are the reason why people want to come back. Yes, food can be good at places, but if you have a good heart and personality then people can tell you're genuine. Don't sleep on Taqueria El Jalisciense! I'm not a big fan of chicken tacos and I even loved those and I would get it again. Everything is so flavorful and you can tell he really thought about his menu. What I love is that he uses quality meats. Don't believe me? Definitely check out his instagram @jalisciense_torres don't blame me if you get hungry checking out his page haha. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. If you're around the area and don't mind driving out to Union then this is the place. Give them a chance. P.S. they only take cash or Zelle so be prepared and they open in the evenings at 4pm-10pm.
