Food was good, not exceptional, not delicious just good. It was really pricy but I guess it's to expect in the neighborhood. What really bumped me was the service. Usually, I'm not picky about service at all. No need to be extra polite or anything but our waitress was beyond impolite. She was the rudest She rushed us during our all meal so we could pick a drink and a dish. Then when we asked for the dessert menu she basically told us that she needed the table for other people. Moroccan eggs were good but the amount of cilantro in that plate was insane, and the yolks -one of the reasons for my existence- were not as runny as I'd like them. Came free for brunch last weekends. Right after they open so the place was empty and we got a great table. It was 4 of us we got appetizer plate with a little bit of everything then some ppl got grilled haullumi cheese with eggs that was quite delicious, steak and eggs cooked perfectly and I got eggs benny with ham and really liked it. The portion sizes and prices are great. I took one star off cause even the server was super nice, it was pretty slow especially since no one was there. And I got coffee and mug was cracked, not a small crack but a huge all over the cup one, I can't understand how barista and server did not see it where it was served. It brings terrible to new levels. It is like the teacher left the building and the children have taken over. They are snide, inept and entitled. Looked very charming and relaxing, a nice change from the madness and crowd at the egg shop. Successful first visit for Brunch. I had the Mediterranean breakfast comprised of roasted tomatoes spinach Halumi cheese (cooked goat cheese) and two poached eggs. A pleasant side of roasted potatoes. Very pleased. The coffee was right on and the grapefruit juice was fresh squeezed. One thing to be aware of; they don't have decaf coffee, wasn't a problem for me, but for those that need it beware! My wife has grenola with a cinnamon yogurt studded with pomegranite seeds and fruit. She was very pleased as well. Definitely will try again! read more

I could eat your hummus all day, your soups that constantly change are wonderful, the assortment of middle eastern apps create such variety, and although I usually go for a tagine, I've been told I should try the lamb shank. Last night I went ahead and got the buratta...amazing! Oh Rintinin, you never fail me. If I could give this restaurant a 4.5, I feel this would be the most accurate rating, but since we are at a .5, I would rather rate up, versus down. The things that definitely give this restaurant 5 stars are the location (right in the heart of NoLita), the atmosphere and seating is fabulous, and the music is fun. The atmosphere reminds me more of a Cuban restaurant versus a Middle Eastern or Mediterranean one, but that is definitely ok, as I think the atmosphere is the crown jewel at this restaurant. Service is even and fast. I have eaten several things off of the menu, and my absolute favorite item are the mussels. Absolutely fabulous and savory. The broth is delicious, rich, and buttery. The mussels come served with this toast, amazing, buttery bread. Don't miss dipping the bread in the broth. My second favorite thing is the burrata salad with the fresh tomatoes, pickled eggplant, extra virgin olive oil, balsamic, and bread is totally fresh and delectable. The arugula salad with fennel is also a very fresh and light salad that is exactly what you would expect- ultra fresh and crisp ingredients that blend together like a dream. The vinaigrette is very light and compliments the salad, versus over powering it. The Mediterranean Mezze platter is very fun with the several varieties of dips they offer and has delicious accompaniments with this. The avocado toast is absolutely amazing- seeded, hearty bread with really fresh guacamole. Delicious! The 2 items that I was not so impressed with are the mushroom risotto and the brown butter pecan gelato. I was surprised to see a mushroom risotto on their menu during the month of August, but I ordered it thinking it would be very light. For me, it was quite the opposite. The flavor of this is very rich, earthy, strong, and heavy. Something about it reminded me of gravy at Thanksgiving, which I do not like. I would like to see a fresh and lighter risotto for this restaurant during the summer time. Maybe something like tomato, peas, asparagus, and parmesan risotto. I was surprised by the gelato. The flavor is brown butter pecan. Usually brown butter has a very nutty, rich taste in things, and we did not pick this up at all. The gelato also had a strange texture, as maybe it has been sitting in the freezer for a while? I had higher expectations. I was not satisfied from dessert, and ate something more later on. So overall, just a couple of food items that were not to my liking, but everything else was spot on. read more

It was a bunch of burnt stuff. My octopus felt old and definitely burnt. Potatoes were burnt as well. It was a souse there with absolutely no taste. Beyond disappointing. Walked in accidentally due to other places having a ridiculous wait. Peach Bellini was perfectly balanced and not made with cheap tasting alcohol. I had the eggs Benedict; very good, the ham was very tasty and the English muffin was perfectly toasted. My boyfriend had the steak and eggs. The worst service in nyc! Very unfriendly waitress with a super annoying attitude. After we set it took them 20 mins to only fill the water. Lunch time during a weekday, there were only 3-4 other tables. 2 stars are only for the food which was good but nothing special. The food is supposedly Mediterranean however the ambiance is completely Havana-esque. I was thrown off by that. My date and I sat by the window which was great. We ordered oysters for an app and he had the burger and I the romesco shrimp with fennel for our entrees. Not a huge fennel fan, I've come to find out. But the shrimp was delicious. Absolutely appalled to preface this review. I came to this place with four of my friends around 12:30. It was such a nice night so we sat outside. The waitress said we only had 30 minutes which was fine because all we wanted was one margarita in honor of cinco de mayo. We got a regular margarita not the one off the menu, didn't think there was much difference. To our surprise, it was horrible. We weren't sure if it was the tequila or the mix, but we let our waitress know it wasn't bearable. All four of us cheered and immediately made a horrible face after our first sip. It tasted soapy and just not right. We made sure to address the issue with the waitress before we drank anymore and she was less than pleased. "We haven't had a problem with any of the other margaritas all night," she said. She wanted us to pin point the problem which obviously we had no idea what made it taste so bad. She then said if we wanted an alternative drink, we had to come inside because they were closing the outside seating. No problem. We talked about just leaving because we already had a bad taste in our mouth (literally), but were led inside to wait for our alternative drink. The manager came over and said that she couldn't serve us because we didn't like our previous drinks. We were appalled. Obviously we walked out. Then we were chased out by the previous waitress to pay our tab. Are you serious? Why would we pay for drinks when we were told they wouldn't serve us? I'm surprised by all the positive feedback for this restaurant. My girlfriend and I had a horrible experience here. It took forever to get seated and waiting at the bar is impossible because the place is tiny and cramped. Our table was in a very small corner of the restaurant where we had to enjoy the cigarette smoke of the people sitting at the table right next to us outside the window. The lamb that I ordered was inedible and came with the most random variety of sides, something for which I could not prepare considering the server was completely useless in explaining anything on the menu.
