Ade was hands-down one of the best servers I've ever had. Truly phenomenal. From the moment we sat down, she was warm, welcoming, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. Our drinks were outstanding, her recommendations were spot-on, and she made the entire experience feel effortless and fun. We're visiting Texas from California to see family, and this was our first time dining here. After reading some mixed reviews beforehand, I was unsure what to expect--but I honestly don't understand the negativity at all. Seating was quick, service was fast, and everything ran smoothly. The food took slightly longer than I'm used to, but it wasn't long at all--and once it arrived, it was absolutely worth it. The food was fantastic, and if people experienced longer waits, I imagine they came during a much busier time. Ade truly made this experience exceptional. Her energy, professionalism, and attention to detail elevated everything. If you're lucky enough to have her as your server, you're in great hands. My family had a great Saturday afternoon lunch. Everyone enjoyed the chips and queso. We ordered the beef fajitas, I loved that it was onions, mushrooms, and grilled carrots that came with the meat. I thought that was a nice twist. My husband enjoyed the seafood tostadas. The two stars of the show though were the bar drinks! And the beef empanadas. The empanadas are made fresh in house. Those are something to write home about. Everyone really enjoyed their martinis and margaritas as well! The restaurant is really clean. The servers were very sweet. Nena's was not a planned stop but when there are hungry children around and the restaurant you had planned to go to had a seriously long wait you look for any port in a storm. Fortunately, Yelp came through and we rerouted to Nena's for dinner. We walked in and while the main dining room was a little full they opened the dining area and we were the only ones there so it was quiet. The menu was a combination of Tex-Mex and traditional. I saw they had Caldo de Res and immediately ordered that along with their Jamaica. The soup was delicious, warm for body and soul; it was that good. We found this place when looking for a good burrito; it is one of the restaurants closest to where we live, so we were hoping for a promising experience. First and foremost, I tried the giant burrito with carne asada ($11.99) which was not bad, but not the greatest I've had. The tortilla has nice burn marks, which makes me happy as the tortillas are warmed up and feel homemade. The avocados are also a good touch. Overall, the filling is okay and nothing to ride home about. Prices are a little higher than what I would expect for a place like this. Their green salsa is not bad and their red salsa is okay. These are nothing special. They try to give you only one sauce for a giant burrito and get really stingy when it comes to giving you additional sauces and charge $0.50, which I think for a burrito is pretty unwarranted. For that reason of nitpicking and the fact there are many other options is why I would not return unless I was desperate. Ambiance is not bad and service cannot be commented on, since we haven't dined in here. read more

So I've had several dishes from this restaurant. It's authentic Mexican, not Texmex, this dish is hands down one of the best I've had. Amazing flavors, the pork is soft and the guajillo sauce is very tasty. Just wish they would include Mexican rice. They only offer beans, refried or de la olla. (Whole bean) The tortillas are home made. You have a choice of Tomatillo or Guajillo sauce, Def recommended the guajillo. We went to this restaurant for Mother's Day. This is an extremely authentic Mexican restaurant. On the walls you can find artwork reflecting The day of the dead holiday. There are many wooden tables and a few booths. Everyone who worked there was very friendly. They have high chairs for babies. The food was good, not the best I've tasted. I had taquitos, which I was impressed to find in Texas. I felt they were over cooked and they were not served with guacamole, instead they were served with a hot sauce. My son had empanadas, he did not care for them. My daughter had shrimp flautas, and they were good. My other son had a sandwich, and he seem to enjoy it, but none of the food was the best we've ever tasted. This is a good place to go for a casual lunch. I would not go here for a holiday or a date. No. Arrived at about 1:00 pm on a Sunday for lunch. Waited 45 minutes for our meal, saw another table served first. There were 3 of us, including my 92 year old mother in law who ordered menudo. Husband ordered Nina's fajita dinner, I ordered pork in a green tomatillo sauce, with corn tortillas. My food was excellent and the tortillas were home made and excellent. Husband's meal barely had any meat - it was mostly bell pepper, onion, nopales, and jalapeños. About 15% was meat. Very little rice and beans. Menudo was good. We all had lemonade. Total bill was $73.58. (Lemonade was $6 per glass.) No one offered us more chips or salsa or even water or anything while we waited and no one apologized for the extremely long wait time. I wanted to walk out, but husband wanted to try out the food. We heard someone say that they were short staffed in the kitchen. We saw 4 waitresses and 1 bartender. When we asked our waitress to check on our food as she sped by, she said they were serving a large table first and our food should come out soon. Another table of 2 men were served before us. They had arrived much later than us and had Micheladas. Waitress ignored us until the food came. When it did, my dish only had a tablespoon and when I asked for a knife and fork, she said no one asks for that when they order that dish! It wasn't soup, it was pork meat chunks with 2 pork ribs and beans. Unbelievable that I had to request a fork and a knife to eat it with. Our waitress never smiled, seemed upset at us, although we never complained. Terrible service. Don't waste your time going to this restaurant. No ambience. Photos are not accurate. Our lemonade glass was plastic and only the plates were clay. No colorful table cloths, nothing authentic Mexican on the tables. Music over speakers was sporadic. No one cleared our table while we sat there with condensation from the lemonade forming puddles on the table. Waitress stood about 6 or 8 feet away and asked several times while we were eating if we needed anything else, without approaching our table. She kept her distance and ignored the condition of the table and the empty glasses. After we motioned for her to bring our check, a different waitress cleared the table and brought over our check. At this price point, there are many other welcoming restaurants in Georgetown with better ambience, food and service. Oh, and did I mention no one opened the door for us as we were walking out arm in arm trying to help my mother in law who was visibly having a difficult time walking? We will certainly not be returning. I do NOT recommend this restaurant. One star only because my meal tasted well. read more

We stumbled upon this restaurant after getting coffee. We were greeted immediately and the ambiance was cute. We were told to sit at a table with the number 2 and shortly after a server greeted us. We got chips and salsa when our waters were placed on the table and we ordered our food. I got the taco bowl and my husband ordered the tacos. Both were great and filling! The chips had a shred of lettuce which made me question how sanitary it was in the kitchen. I would come back here because of how tasty and authentic the food is. A bit of a mixed bag here, but overall pretty good! No complaints about the food. The Pastor is the best I've tasted since I left CA! My problem was with the service. It was difficult to communicate with our waiter. I wanted to get a pastor burrito to go with only meat in it. He couldn't understand that concept at all. Next time I'll try at the register. We also felt the service lacked a bit, because there was no follow up on how our food was, topping off water glasses, and we had to ask a couple of times for our check. This was a great find...looks small from the outside but is quite spacious indoors...Service was friendly but it did take a bit for the food to come out but the quality made up for the wait. The Choriqueso was quite good and the tortillas were fresh. Salsa had a bite of heat. Wife went with the Flautas which were seriously some of the best she has had...very light and crispy and packed full of delicious ground beef. The presentation of my plate was fantastic. All chicken with 3 sauces which were all great. Beans were on point and we both really liked the rice. We ordered the fajita platter for two. The meat both chicken and beef were tough and looked like it came from the frozen section in a bag. The onions, bell peppers, mushrooms and carrots. Yea mushrooms and carrots that were cooked with the meat looked like a birds Eye medley from the grocery store. Nothing was grilled. I've never had carrots and mushrooms in Fajitas. The rice had another Birds Eye medley of carrots peas and corn mixed in. The beans were bland pinto beans cooked in water nothing else. When I look for Mexican restaurants I always look at the reviews of food and pics of the tortillas. And this place makes their tortillas from scratch. We have eaten both inside for dinner and gotten to go breakfast tacos. It's AUTHENTIC Mexican food not the typical TexMex. And personally texmex is NOT real Mexican food. They do have some texmex items. When I eat at restaurant I look around to see the customers. For example, Asian restaurant if you look around the customers are majority Asians then you know it will be good. This restaurants were a ton of Hispanics all speaking Spanish to their server when ordering. Service is amazing. It does take some time but I'm patient and willing to wait so I know my food isn't microwaved. The Tripa and Al pastor is out of this world. Tripa fried just perfect with that crunch texture! Their Mexican rice uhhhhmaaazziinnggg. Their red salsa is spicyyyyy how I like it with my tacos. They have horchatos there as well haven't tried it yet but next trip I will! read more
