Max is friendly & knows the menu, one of the staff usually returns to refill coffee if Max is busy w/other customers, the tables are cleared quickly, allowing more 'elbow room' when finished eating, & the young guy taking payments is educated & friendly. This is often our go to for breakfast out. My husband likes their pancakes. I like the fajita omelet. It's fresh and fluffy and delicious. The servers are great about changing out the bell peppers in the omelet for jalapeños and even give me a choice of fresh or pickled. Coffee cups are kept filled and they offer both decaf and regular. read more

I come here at least once a month and every time is great! Sometimes on the weekends there is a longer wait. You get free chips and salsa after breakfast. There are a lot of items to choose from on the menu. Their sweet tea is always amazing, literally the best sweet tea I've had in years! The food took about 20-25 minutes to get out, but the chips and salsa helped to not be so hungry. I got the Steak Ranchero. It came out sizzling hot! Went to the Taylor Car Show. Good local place to eat. Lot's of space, many choices, breakfast, burgers and Tex-Mex food. Friendly servers and a small bar in the back. Had the King Fajita Platter with smoked sausage, chicken, beef, shrimp & pork. It was excellent and inexpensive. Will definitely eat here the next time we're in Taylor. read more

5/24/2024 First time at Lozano Corral. Coffee was very good! My husband and I each had the Bacon, Egg, hash browns breakfast, we were very happy with it. This sleepy little family run restaurant is most definitely worth the sort detour off highway 79 for a delightfully good meal. Friendly staff and friendly greeting one another as they enter is a sure sign of hometown goodness! And, wow, the food is great! A good chili relleno is the mark of a good restaurant. The tortillas are cheap factory made. The flour tortillas are fluffy. So if you know flour tortillas, that's bad. The potatoes are ok. The beans are ok. The salsa is more like ketchup than salsa. They are operating at limited capacity but the staff moves pretty slow. They are nice but slow. We waited several minutes to be seated. Small town place. Love to get something "breakfasty" here, any time of the day. Often a line after church on Sunday morning but wait. They turn tables very quickly. The building is old, but it is kept very clean. The omelettes are great, and the ingredients are plentiful. The breakfast tacos are good if you want something smaller. Get the pancakes!!! So disappointed tonight. :( I initially thought this place was great, but tonight the service was ridiculously poor. Drinks were never refilled, basket of chips was half full and my food was wrong. We mentioned the issues to the cashier and she gave us a $2 discount, but that's not enough to keep them at the top of my 'go to' restaurants. El Corral Lozano is a passable spot to grab a cheap breakfast if you happen to be in Taylor. We were there about 11 on Saturday morning. We were seated immediately. The coffee was the usual weak cafe fair. There were 3 of us and we ordered chilaquiles, migas and a breakfast plate with 2 eggs, 2 sausage patties, potatoes and biscuits. All the plates included potatoes that looked nicely browned but were a bit undercooked and not hot. In fact, none of the food was very hot. Overall, the food was pretty average but fine if you're not expecting anything fancy. It was cheap. Each entree was $5.50, total bill was $22. I wouldn't make a special trip but it's fine if you're in Taylor and don't want fast food (or not quite ready to go next door for BBQ at Louis Mueller's!) read more

Friday before the 4th and my daughter, her husband and I are out exploring the area and find ourselves in Taylor..had intentions of maybe eating some BBQ but decided we weren't willing to stand in line with our masks on..pulled in here and so happy we did. El Corral Lazyano I dunno what happened to this place. Used to be a fav but now not only the food sux the service is like wow terrible. Think lazy entitled waitstaff. Don't bother complaining, they don't care. They brought out my husbands order and then our son and I waited for 10 minutes for them to bring ours. And the waitress didn't care. So we asked for the manager and she said, yes his fajitas were done so they needed to be brought out. Like, what? Then no refills, no extra napkins, nothing. So then we were done and sat waiting for our check. Finally gave up and went looking. They're usually hanging out by the register and sure enough. Including the manager. Like wut? And she's like all proud of herself for running the place for the night. No princess, you didn't do a good job. Final nail in the coffin: when a customer brings anything to the attention of management and gets an excuse in return... without any kind of apology. Some ppl just don't get that. And the hostess who thinks she's the mostess? Get over yourself and for the love of God, get some help with those eyebrows. Ya I'm catty, they're hideous. Next time don't look at me and my family like it's such a huge burden to have to seat us when we walk in. Am I angry? Ya. But probably because last time we were there, our waitress Pat (cuz is Pat a boy or a girl?) the snowflake, asked us how old our son was. Well Pat, he's 274 months now. Not sure how these people rated 5 stars. We waited several minutes for somebody to show up to seat us. When we ordered, my fajita plate came out before any other's plates, so I waited. By the time everyone else got their food, mine was cold -- plus they brought my tortillas and the rest of my 'fixins' with everyone else's food. The tortilla chips were probably the worst I've ever had-- actually tasted like the oil was rancid. Everything else was at or below average -- and we eat lots of Mexican food, so I've been around. I was prepared to give this place a chance even though every other place in town was rated higher. Alas, I was very disappointed. Another deal killer that will instantly lose a star with me is a weak blow dryer for drying yours hands in the bathroom (the kind where you end up drying your hands on your pants.)
