Great place for breakfast, affordable & tasty. Max is friendly & knows the menu, one of the staff usually returns to refill coffee if Max is busy w/other customers, the tables are cleared quickly, allowing more 'elbow room' when finished eating, & the young guy taking payments is educated & friendly. Park on the street or in the lot. Weekends are really busy; parking is nil. read more

This is often our go to for breakfast out. My husband likes their pancakes. I like the fajita omelet. It's fresh and fluffy and delicious. The servers are great about changing out the bell peppers in the omelet for jalapeños and even give me a choice of fresh or pickled. Coffee cups are kept filled and they offer both decaf and regular. read more

I come here at least once a month and every time is great! Sometimes on the weekends there is a longer wait. You get free chips and salsa after breakfast. There are a lot of items to choose from on the menu. Their sweet tea is always amazing, literally the best sweet tea I've had in years! The food took about 20-25 minutes to get out, but the chips and salsa helped to not be so hungry. I got the Steak Ranchero. It came out sizzling hot! I chopped it up and put it in the tortillas that come with and added the sides on top... it was SO BOMB!!! I'm definitely coming back! read more

There was a long wait time for a table and food but I believe because they are short staffed. They have great friendly service. For being a Mexican restaurant the tortillas are not house made. They're store bought which is why I gave them 3 stars. They do however, have a good selection of entrees. read more

Went to the Taylor Car Show. Good local place to eat. Lot's of space, many choices, breakfast, burgers and Tex-Mex food. Friendly servers and a small bar in the back. Had the King Fajita Platter with smoked sausage, chicken, beef, shrimp & pork. It was excellent and inexpensive. Will definitely eat here the next time we're in Taylor. read more

5/24/2024 First time at Lozano Corral. Coffee was very good! My husband and I each had the Bacon, Egg, hash browns breakfast, we were very happy with it. This sleepy little family run restaurant is most definitely worth the sort detour off highway 79 for a delightfully good meal. Friendly staff and friendly greeting one another as they enter is a sure sign of hometown goodness! And, wow, the food is great! A good chili relleno is the mark of a good restaurant. This one awesome! You'd be crazy not to put this place on your list to try. I'm not seeing Texas Beer Company on tap. What's up with that? That's OK, I'm giving you a pass cuz the food is so good! The tortillas are cheap factory made. The flour tortillas are fluffy. So if you know flour tortillas, that's bad. The potatoes are ok. The beans are ok. The salsa is more like ketchup than salsa. They are operating at limited capacity but the staff moves pretty slow. They are nice but slow. We waited several minutes to be seated. Several more for our food and several more waiting in line to pay. I've added a picture of the empty register to show what you can expect. Also there were three people waiting to pay. My wife and I stopped for lunch. We arrived about 5 minutes before their lunch specials/timing began. They would not bring chips and salsa because we arrived before their "official" lunch timing (by 5 minutes). OK, so we ordered and waited, waited, waited. Maybe the waitress was having a bad day? Food average. There are better options for Mexican food in the area with better service. read more

Small town place. Love to get something "breakfasty" here, any time of the day. Often a line after church on Sunday morning but wait. They turn tables very quickly. The building is old, but it is kept very clean. The omelettes are great, and the ingredients are plentiful. The breakfast tacos are good if you want something smaller. Get the pancakes!!! And they have real butter. Their burgers are also top top notch. read more

We had a Texas omelet and has browns. Very good and super nice folks. The cook really did an exceptional job of preparing the omelet. The omelet was large enough to share but I will eat it by myself. Stephanie was an exceptional server. You can use your smart phone for the menu. Very easy and virus free. Great parking in a large lot next door. Fast service with a smile. Very clean rest room. They have a very well stocked bar but nothing for breakfast. No memosa's. read more

Everything was EXCELLENT, starting with the service! The salsa for the chips was delicious. Made perfectly. The fajitas were AMAZING! Even the sweet tea was delicious! Perfect Mexican rice! Nope. Nope. And NOPE. The cheese on the nachos was so thin, you could see through it. Not to mention cold! The manager boasted that they used Land O' Lake cheese and that it was the best restaurant quality cheese. Really?! On the upside, they didn't charge us for the nachos. read more

Their home-made red salsa is the best and their flautas and enchiladas are dependably good. The service can be uneven, and their turnover seems significant, but everyone is friendly and welcoming. We love the Little Library, too. Breakfast being served all day is also delightful and their pancakes are good, as is the bacon. read more

So disappointed tonight. :( I initially thought this place was great, but tonight the service was ridiculously poor. Drinks were never refilled, basket of chips was half full and my food was wrong. We mentioned the issues to the cashier and she gave us a $2 discount, but that's not enough to keep them at the top of my 'go to' restaurants. This was 100% on the waitress, but no manager ever made an appearance and our waitress never came back. She didn't even bring our food. read more

El Corral Lozano is a passable spot to grab a cheap breakfast if you happen to be in Taylor. We were there about 11 on Saturday morning. We were seated immediately. The coffee was the usual weak cafe fair. There were 3 of us and we ordered chilaquiles, migas and a breakfast plate with 2 eggs, 2 sausage patties, potatoes and biscuits. All the plates included potatoes that looked nicely browned but were a bit undercooked and not hot. In fact, none of the food was very hot. Overall, the food was pretty average but fine if you're not expecting anything fancy. It was cheap. Each entree was $5.50, total bill was $22. I wouldn't make a special trip but it's fine if you're in Taylor and don't want fast food (or not quite ready to go next door for BBQ at Louis Mueller's!) read more

I agree with the last poster, this place should definitely be higher rated. Ate here for a late lunch today. Wife loved her chicken tortilla soup, my plate of enchiladas was excellent tasting in my opinion. Best retried beans and Spanish rice I've had in quite a while. Always a plus for the two of us when we can get good flan too. I am sorry I haven't eaten here more often before now. read more

There are some serious chicken paintings in here. Some decent chips and salsa... Good rice and beans. Good al pastor. Only thing that was subpar were the flour tortillas. Not homemade is not good. Other peoples food also looked delicious. Sat in AC ordered and ate in time it took the rest of my group to just get their food across the street at Louie Mueller BBQ. Would eat here again read more

Friday before the 4th and my daughter, her husband and I are out exploring the area and find ourselves in Taylor..had intentions of maybe eating some BBQ but decided we weren't willing to stand in line with our masks on..pulled in here and so happy we did. Waitress took our drink order then brought out really good chips and salsa plus we added a small bowl of queso which was very tasty. I ordered a cheese enchilada ala cart and my daughter got the 3 enchilada plate, he got the carnitas burrito with queso ...we all cleaned our plates and were so happy with what we ordered then when waitress offered us our drinks to go, that was a super move since we all had cokes! El Corral Lazyano I dunno what happened to this place. Used to be a fav but now not only the food sux the service is like wow terrible. Think lazy entitled waitstaff. Don't bother complaining, they don't care. They brought out my husbands order and then our son and I waited for 10 minutes for them to bring ours. And the waitress didn't care. So we asked for the manager and she said, yes his fajitas were done so they needed to be brought out. Like, what? Then no refills, no extra napkins, nothing. So then we were done and sat waiting for our check. Finally gave up and went looking. They're usually hanging out by the register and sure enough. Including the manager. Like wut? And she's like all proud of herself for running the place for the night. No princess, you didn't do a good job. Final nail in the coffin: when a customer brings anything to the attention of management and gets an excuse in return... without any kind of apology. Some ppl just don't get that. And the hostess who thinks she's the mostess? Get over yourself and for the love of God, get some help with those eyebrows. Ya I'm catty, they're hideous. Next time don't look at me and my family like it's such a huge burden to have to seat us when we walk in. Am I angry? Ya. But probably because last time we were there, our waitress Pat (cuz is Pat a boy or a girl?) the snowflake, asked us how old our son was. Well Pat, he's 274 months now. Next time ask him yourself since he's a grown man, just because someone is special needs doesn't mean it's ok to be condescending. All these years nobody has ever asked like that. Not sure how these people rated 5 stars. We waited several minutes for somebody to show up to seat us. When we ordered, my fajita plate came out before any other's plates, so I waited. By the time everyone else got their food, mine was cold -- plus they brought my tortillas and the rest of my 'fixins' with everyone else's food. The tortilla chips were probably the worst I've ever had-- actually tasted like the oil was rancid. Everything else was at or below average -- and we eat lots of Mexican food, so I've been around. I was prepared to give this place a chance even though every other place in town was rated higher. Alas, I was very disappointed. Another deal killer that will instantly lose a star with me is a weak blow dryer for drying yours hands in the bathroom (the kind where you end up drying your hands on your pants.) Seriously-- come on -- spring for some paper towels!!!! Sorry, I can't recommend this restaurant. Two stars is actually a stretch .. read more

Some people had finished eating before others had even received their meals. I ordered the nachos, and they didn't arrive until 2 1/2 hours after we sat down. Waiting that long for nachos is simply unacceptable. We were repeatedly told the kitchen was backed up because they were busy and because items like the chips were "homemade." They absolutely were not--they tasted like standard bagged tortilla chips from the grocery store. To make matters worse, the food itself was mediocre and not worth the wait (the one standout was the fried okra). Between the mishandled reservation, the excessive wait times, and the disappointing food, the entire experience was incredibly frustrating. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Yesterday, I chose a Chicken Fried Steak dinner with a baked potato , a side of mushrooms and a side salad. I enjoyed the CFS once I removed most of the breading (don't get me wrong. It was nice and crispy-I just wasn't in the mood for it) it was easy to remove, and the steak itself was cooked properly, there was cream gravy to go over it, and I ate it with my canned Mushrooms on the side. My Baked Potato was on the small side, but it was delicious and all the logical condiments like shredded cheese, sour cream, & butter were all included (in little cups) so I could use what and how much of those I wanted. It also came with a slice of Texas Toast and a Side Salad, which was freshly chopped lettuce with bacon, and croutons, and had the blue cheese dressing I had ordered on the side. Even without the breading on the meat, I was full before I ever made it to the Texas toast. I focused on the chicken fried steak, the gravy and the baked potato. It was all very good. Not sure why, but I didn't care for the mushrooms too much , I knew they would be canned, but they had a little bit of a tinny flavor so I ate a couple of those, but then left the rest. The blue cheese dressing was great, not sure if it was homemade, but there were small chunks of blue cheese evident, which I appreciated. Because I had filled up on my steak and potato I only ate about a third of the salad. The only thing I missed was the woman who was our server last time I went with my grandsons -as she was very pleasant and nice to talk to! I'm very grateful they were open on the Fourth of July weekend and even more grateful that Toast was able to deliver it to me out at my son's house-which I consider to be in the boonies -but then a lot of Taylor /Coupland area is! Looks like this is going to be my go to place if I need some good home cooking out that way!! If you haven't been it's worth the drive!!!

Came to this area to visit my family and they mentioned this restaurant. Looked on yelp like I always do before I go spend some money and the reviews weren't the best but I figured I'd try the place still. Walked in around lunch time had our table quickly and soon drinks along. I have to say the service was on point. The food was also great tasting. Very happy and impressed with the great food and service. I'm from Los Angeles and was glad to come to Texas and enjoy myself some great service and great food therefore this restaurant gets a 5 star yelp review in my book!
