I walked in and was greeted by the friendly lady behind the counter who speaks both English and Spanish. I walked in at 9:00am and I ordered 2 bacon, egg, cheese and papas ranchero tacos. They were probably fairly portioned but I wouldn't say they were overstuffed or anything. I got them on flour tortillas, which were, in themselves just OK in my opinion. Overall though, the tacos were tasty and hit the spot. The jalapeños in the papas rancheros added a nice spice level for me but I love my food to make me sweat so if you don't prefer higher spice levels, just get the regular potatoes. As for ambiance, this is a taco counter with an open kitchen and a flat top grill inside a gas station (inside the Valero on Chris Kelley Blvd by the KFC) so I got what I feel most would've expected there. All in all it was a pretty good hot and quick breakfast and I'm sure I'll be dining with them again since I have an office pretty close by. read more

Well, well...... finally found it! I heard the Blanca had opened a Taco Mex location in Hutto but never could find it because it was buried inside of a C-Store. Now that ive found it, you can to.....It's inside the "Valero I M Food Mart" right down the street from the Hutto High School. They have all the faves from the Manor Rd and E.12th locations plus they do a slamming burger too. Check 'em out! read more

Have to update my review and change the rating from 5 stars to 0 if possible. They ignore you like you are invisible. You stand there for minutes on end while the ladies are chatting away, no acknowledgement of your existence or anything of the sort. This happened over a 4 day period. The ladies working there are so friendly and nice, and they are made fresh when you order them, not scooped out of a food line. We have also had the burgers, and they too are very delicious. Poor customer service from the cashier. On top of that she was preparing my food with no gloves on and cashing people out.

My husband and I have been in here a few times and the food has always been good. My 3 stars are for the lack of customer service. Every time we've walked in there there is no hi what can I get for you . There is literally silence and blank stares and then an "are you ready" ? To top it off any time I ask a question in regards to what comes on the food the cashier just sighs and rolls her eyes. If you are not happy with your job , get a new one ! The menudo from this place is probably the best I've bought. You can tell that they clean the tripe before cooking it. The tripe is cooked to the point of being tender and almost melting in your mouth, much better than those other places that leave it chewy. The spice is at the right level, my nose almost started to run at the end of the bowl. I like my food spicy. A good amount of tripe and hominy. Over all an excellent bowl of menudo. Barbacoa here is also good. It isn't too greasy, which is usually the issue with places that sell barbacoa. The tacos have a healthy serving of meat in them, so you're getting what you pay for. Could use some or a little more tongue meat for some more flavor, but that's more of a personal preference. If you are looking for good Mexican food in the Hutto/Round Rock/Pflugerville area, this is a good place to stop. Do not let the fact that it is in a gas station steer you away, the food is good with none of the unwanted things associated with gas station food. read more

This is the best kept secret in Hutto! The tacos are so good. I have tried just about everything and loved them all! Today I tried the bacon cheeseburger. OMG! Born and raised in Hutto and have always gone to Marios (another local Taco spot) for their breakfast tacos. I had heard of this place and read some reviews but had never tried it. Today, I tried to call Marios to place a to go order, and no one would answer the phone. Seriously tried calling for 15 minutes. So I decided to try This little restaurant in the Valero! THE VERDICT- I WILL NEVER EAT MARIOS AGAIN after trying these breakfast tacos! I ordered 2 sausage egg and cheese and 3 chorizo and egg and not only were they pretty decent size, they were SO GOOD!!!!! We will be going back for sure! Very Authentic and the salsa is ON POINT! Taco-Mex is phenomenal food!! The ladies that run the show are amazing!! Everything you get from here will be amazing. I have had several dishes and tacos and they all have been very good. The tacos are cheap in price and full in flavor. You know how when you go to some taqueria and they offer cheap priced tacos and you get them and they are barely filled with any of the ingredients. That definitely does not happen here. The ladies take pride in every dish that they serve!! The salsas are great and they will accommodate pretty much any order that you would like. It is truly a great place. The food and the staff are great!! The only issue is that they close at 3:00pm. It hurts!! read more
