I have been eyeing the Rio Spa for sometime now, I found a deal and called them up so I can get a massage. The booking process was very easy. The check in process was great, the spa is on the smaller side, but fortunately for me I had the WHOLE SPA to myself at times. I did see other ladies from time-to-time, but they were mostly on their way in and out of their treatments. Included in the spa experience: Rest/Lounge room- Had water, tea and pretzels to snack on. Pretty minimal in terms of spa, smaller room with places to sit. Outdated magazines, so bring something to read. Jacuzzi- Perfect temperature and constantly running with bubbles. The room was darker with candlelight, but no lounges to rest on. Steam room & Sauna- Plenty of room in both. Workout room- Plenty of cardio machines (see picture) as well as weight area. Shower- 4 stall shower room, including a disability shower. All showers had a different scent to them, unfortunately the scent I wanted (Lavender) was out of order. Did not smell much of scent in my shower, and they were smaller stalls than other spa's in town. I opt'ed for a Massage and I had a wonderful hour with Heather, highly recommend! read more

I like to go to the Hotel spas just to get a day pass for the facilities and relax especially when i stay there. Spas usually give the "luxury relaxation" vibe- this Spa was a bit different. The Spa here was a tad outdated, it was in need of some modern TLC. The facilities were kept fairly clean but it lacked the amenities of other spas. When i entered, i was given a metal bucket filled with ice a chilled towel and some oranges in a plastic bag (?!) Come to find out a lot of these standard things that are in spas aren't put out here....in addition there was no bottled water and you had to have the attendant pour water into a plastic cup for you every time, there were no individually wrapped combs or brushes, just the used ones in the creepy blue solution with hairs still stuck in it. The Shower heads here were the saving grace, they were awesome, but the peeling paint in the shower's ceiling and the loose and grimy bath gel pumps within the shower took away from it. Between the 2 hot tubs was a loud TV blaring sports....if they dimmed the lights and pumped in tranquil spa music instead it'd have a totally new feel. I'm glad i only paid a $10 entry fee, but with a little more attention to detail and simple things done to change the ambiance it'd be better. The Best Hidden Gem of a Spa and the most memorable experience. My girlfriends from Sacramento came to Las Vegas to visit me and my friend, D. They were staying at the Rio. ( which most people would want to stay on the strip. Even though the Rio is off the strip, the property is Under-Rated! The 4 of us never thought would come to the Spa at the Rio. But it so happens the Las Vegas Southwestern Women's Expo Diva's Day out is happening during their visit and being held at the Rio just this past weekend. So the Ladies and I decide to go to the Expo on Saturday, May 18, 2019 ( FYI: free admission if you sign up on by email and just print out the voucher which is good for 2. Also, there will be another event in October) As we walked into the Expo, there were a lot of vendors and what got us curious was we saw the booth for the Rio Spa. They had a special promotion of $60.00 for the Swedish massage, I believe. Me and my girlfriends sign up for an appointment for 9:00 am on Sunday 5/19. The Ladies at the booth were accommodating to the request for my service because I asked for the medium pressure. I just paid the difference. Early Sunday Morning our appointment at 9:00 am we arrive 30 minutes early at 8:30 am which is highly recommended because they will settle you in by giving you a tour, need time to change into your robe, slippers and assign you a locker. As for me, I brought my bathing suit for the use of the Amenities but Clothing is optional. ( the facility is a Free cell phone) Our Spa host, Gigi was very attentive to me and everyone in the spa facility, she was the one gave us the tour and took care of us whatever we need to snack on, drinks and made sure we were taken care of. So far, the beginning of my experience here was that immediately customer service was excellent and very detailed on attending to our needs. Gigi showed us the relaxation lounge, the whirlpool, sauna and steam room. after I changed into my robe, I waited in the relaxation for my massage therapist to come and get me. This is where I met Heather! AHHHHH-Mazzing hands! I melted away in seconds with Heather! I love the pressure she gave me. She went from my back, legs, arms, feet and scalp! she will also ask you if she needs to focus on an area that you want to me worked on. She is the best and I can tell she loves her job!! Ask for Heather Rod, a real Massage Therapist! The overall experience was luxurious and she just immediately turn my mind off. After my session, Gigi ask me if i was going to stay for the spa amenities and I said Yes. So she gave us a bucket of ice with cold face towels and slice oranges in a zip lock bag to take around the facility so we don't get dehydrated when we go into the steam room, hot whirlpool and sauna. I went into the steam room and they used this Pure Eucalyptus oil shower mist that cleans your senses. A wonderful experience. It was so amazing you can purchase the item at their little boutique at the front desk. So I bought one! After this recent experience and since the Women Diva expo is still going on for another day me and friends went back to the expo and I was able to purchase another deal on the massage again for next time which will last me till end of the year. I don't usually do this but I did! Even though you missed out on this opportunity the Rio Spa has a Groupon which is also a great deal. So if you want to get away from the crowds and want a great deal on a spa come to the Rio Spa. Its clean, and remember Less is more! This is truly an awesome spa! While visiting Vegas, a friend and I found a deal for a facial and massage at the Rio Spa. It's a bit off of the strip so probably not a place you'd stumble upon while walking. I have visited a few spas back home almost every month this quarter as I have another friend who loves massages, but I personally never leave feeling like I truly want to commit to the practice. However, when I say I had the best facial with Suzanne and the best massage with Heather, it is not an understatement. I wanted to take them both back home with me! Suzanne was super friendly, and while we chatted during my facial it still felt super relaxing. After she finished with my face, it was glowing! My last facial elsewhere left me with a huge breakout and I do not feel like my skin looked as good as it did after my time with Suzanne, super impressed. Then Heather gave me the most awesome Swedish massage. Just the right amount of pressure and I added lavender aromatherapy. Super relaxing! When you have services you are also allowed to use the facilities until around 7pm and you can come and go as you please. They have a relaxation room, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. We didn't get a chance to enjoy because we had to run back to our hotel for work but definitely wish we could have. What an awesome way to start a day, I highly recommend! Walking out I loved the way my hair felt. Nope!, no hair salon treatment. I was informed by spa staff that they added aromatherapy in their spa showers! That surprised me because I didn't smell anything when I showered after my spa treatment, which is excellent because some smells can be overpowering. I have visited this spa throughout the years when I visit and stay at the Rio. Continues to have great customer service, clean facility and great spa treatment technicians. I was surprised to see the Rio spa had four stars and wondered how many of the reviewers had visited other spas on the strip. I really love going to the spa and I've tried them all. I recently tried the one at Rio and comparatively, it was pretty substandard. I went there just to get a day pass and enjoy the facilities. Upon checking in I was informed that they'd only be open two more hours but that was ok by me. I already knew that. I figured I'd have plenty of times to use the gym and do the spa, sauna and steam room. Compared to other spas I've been to this one is kinda like a fancy YMCA. It could use a renovation to look more modern but the Rio is an older place so that didn't bug me too much. The gym was adequate - nothing special. The machines have little tvs in them and none of the Bluetooth connections seemed to be working so I could watch tv with no sound while working out. Next I hit the shower. Now this is where things started to rub me the wrong way. They have a sign up in the shower area saying that you may purchase a "luxury" shower head with different features like massage mode, etc. Um.. This is supposed to be a spa. Shouldn't that sort of thing just be a standard item found in the showers? So the showers are very plain jane but you can purchase an upgrade if you wish. The jet tub was nice. No complaints there. The dry sauna was not working so I didn't get a chance to try that and the steam room... Oh the steam room. Let's just say the steam room is my favorite part of using the spa. Well, until I tried the one at Rio. The sign says this is a Eucalyptus steam room. However, their Eucalyptus smells a lot like sweaty bodies. Overpowering smell of sweaty bodies. Yes I do get it that people sweat in a steam room. But there is no way this place was using Eucalyptus in there. Maybe you have to pay extra for that too. I don't know. Needless to say I didn't stay in there too long. The smell was ewww and so were the sweaty towels laying around in there. I think it's pretty gross and rude to just leave your towel in there. But I'm sure it happens. I also think that it's the spa attendants job to look in on these things and keep these areas tidy. I really wanted to like the Rio spa but it just really was meh. I'd skip it or visit the spa at Linq where it's ten times nicer and ten bucks cheaper for a day pass. read more

I went to the Rio Salon solely because they do a Locks of Love drive every year, and I wanted to donate my hair. I absolutely cannot say enough about how nice, professional, and helpful they were. I called to ask about Locks of Love, and the person with whom I spoke not only gave me all of the information I asked for and more, she made an appointment for me, too. When I got to the salon, everyone was so nice, patiently answered any questions I had, offered me drinks and sweets, and kept me updated the entire maybe 10 minutes I waited. When they took me back to the actual salon, I was nervous--I had really long hair, and I wanted a pixie cut, so it was going to be a drastic change. While I was getting my cut, other hairdressers, even the manager I think (I have to take my glasses off for haircuts, and I can't see anything without my glasses, so don't quote me on that one) came by to say it looked good. It is genuinely the most positive environment I have ever been in when getting a haircut--these people are incredibly supportive and just genuinely nice. The guy who did my hair (I unfortunately have no idea what his name is) did an amazing job. The last haircut I had traumatized me (maybe a little melodramatic, but I stand by it), but at the Rio, things were different. He cut my hair perfectly--it is exactly what I wanted. After I get a haircut, I typically fuss with it incessantly and find some sort of inherent flaw. I'm more than 12 hours in, and I can't find a single thing wrong with it. It is, without a doubt, the best haircut I have ever gotten. In summation, if you want to be treated well, get exactly what you want, and be happy when you leave, you should definitely go to the Rio Salon. I know I'll be back. read more

OKAY massage. Had a travelzoo voucher so booked a double session. The therapist could not have been less interested in healing. He spent more tome adjusting the lights then the time he spent working on the only two areas that needed attention. The room was hot, the face cradle so oddly positioned that my neck was sorer after... I had to stop 10 minutes early. If this therapist was doing this work for more then a decade he should know it's about the therapy the client wants, not the massage he wants to give. The locker room/spa area are nicely appointed and staff there are super sweet and attentive. Can't recommend! read more

I came here to get a pedi and mani and it was a great experience! The facility is clean and inviting and the staff was very helpful. Crystal took care of me and not only did she do a great job with my services, she was also very friendly! She let me talk her ear off! Such a great local Spa! They have everything you need for a relaxing time. If you are a guest at the hotel the rate for the spa facilities would be $10 this is not included within your resort fees, which this once was so it's kind of a bummer, if you are just visiting the spa alone it's about $20 to enjoy the facilities. Upon entrance to the spa area you are greeted by the front desk and they will direct you to spa area, in the front area they offer additional services such as hair and makeup. Once you enter the back you will be greeted with coffee, tea or an amazing fruit mixture of cranberry juice and pineapple juice, they will also give you a pair of sandals and your locker combo with a plush robe inside. Once inside the spa you have the option of Using the warm sauna that sprays off a eucalyptus smell that is great for opening all pours, the warm sauna old school style nothing but wood and charcoal, they also have a wet sauna that you can enjoy with cold towels just in case you get hot, and infused water throughout the spa. They have several massage rooms for your appointments (please look at my photos for service prices). Now moving Onto the shower bathroom area, they have everything you will ever need and if you don't see it just ask, upon your shower with the glorious shower head! Best shower head ever they will give you an amazing body scrub made in house you can use! If you don't get it ask for it because it's amazing. All in all go work out and pamper yourself you will really enjoy it and feel very well taking care of! It's worth the $20 I will enjoy every time I am in Vegas daily! read more

During my recent stay at the Rio, I decided to get a manicure and pedicure downstairs at the spa. The spa itself is ok - not super luxurious but does the trick. You can use the steam room, sauna or hot tub if you purchase any of the services so my girlfriend who was getting a facial went down early to enjoy some of these amenities. The sauna was super hot and while I can usually stay 20 min. in one, I barely lasted 15. It felt good but seemed warmer than the sauna at my gym back home. The relaxing area was dim and had ample seating but I wish they had stools to kick your feet up. I brought my Nook and was able to read a bit but couldn't really get super comfortable because the chairs were too upright. Do they do this on purpose so we don't overstay our welcome? The mani/pedi services I received from Crystal was great and she alone deserves 4 stars. She was very easy to talk to and made my visit fun and relaxing. The only reason why I couldn't give this spa higher marks is because the guy checking us in (Sammie) was not very friendly at all. He is the first person patrons comes into contact with when they come in and he was stone faced and not very warm and welcoming at ALL. It was very off putting. If it weren't for him, they would've gotten another star. I'll get on my usual soap box rant with people who choose a profession that interacts with the public but aren't pleasant....If your job is to welcome guests into your establishment and you can't be friendly or even pleasant....CHOOSE ANOTHER LINE OF WORK! Really enjoyed this spa! I came here once or twice a day during my stay earlier this year. If everything is still the same, you get a robe and sandals and a little bag with some amazing smelling body scrub, a razor, toothbrush and toothpaste when you arrive. The staff members were all really nice. I love the room with the hot tub in it, it's quiet and dark and so relaxing.... nice tile work too, great atmosphere. The sauna was comfortable as well, didn't go into the steam room (not my taste). Good selection of snacks and tasty fruit flavored water. Just nice and comfortable. Small but cozy. The five star review could be just for Reversa alone. Reversa is one of those massage therapists that you will be comparing to other therapists forever. Okay, the spa isn't as sprawling as Qua or Canyon Ranch but they make up for it in their quality of service. The front desk staff has always been helpful and friendly. The nail technicians are skilled (Yeah! Crystal!). Denise is an esthetician that is super knowledgeable about skincare. The stylists are great (Christina M. is awesome) and of course, Reversa, who is my favorite massage therapist EVER. The spa attendants are very good at making you feel like you are important. I said this in my review of the Qua Spa at Caesars Palace...while I enjoy using the facilities at larger spas (mineral pools, steam rooms, etc.), I will always come back to the Rio Spa for services. M Resort was a much better experience overall. The ambiance of the spa was a bit noisy. The workers near the relaxation area was a bit rowdy which knocked down a couple of stars. Decor was all right. I loved every bit of my service from Crystal. She did some really amazing nails for me!! She is so knowledgeable and understood that I do my own nails at home, but they shattered during my vacation, so she also gave me tips on what to use and how to keep my nails stronger. Moreover, Crystal made sure I was comfortable the entire time. I chose my color for my full set and it was Crystal's idea to add more glitter, all I said was just on my tips and she asked like ombre? I got a manicure and pedicure from Kristine and a massage from Jennifer. Both services were outstanding. Both practitioners have definitely mastered their crafts. Kristine did a great job and even educated me about my nails. Did you know, for instance, that the only living part of your nails are the half moon part? The nail beds are dead. Yep,that's right. :), The massage with Jennifer was amazing. Honestly, it felt so good. She is thoughtful with every massage stroke and has a system of hot towels support down too. It felt like what a massage is supposed to feel like. Actual pressure and care. She was just so present. I will definitely be back. It was one of the best massages I've ever had. I was so bummed when it was over. The spa is nice too and they keep everything super clean, tidy and welcoming. Everyone that worked there was super helpful and cheerful - authentically. I have never been pampered or has a spa experience like this. My boyfriend and I were visiting from the Alabama gulf coast for our anniversary. This spa was absolute heaven. We got couples massages and facials, and we both enjoyed the amenities of the jacuzzi,steam room, and sauna. The attendants were nice and provided snacks and drinks and just made you feel like a queen. Again this was all a first for me and they made it wonderful. If only we lived closer. I picked up a Groupon and thought I'd give the spa a try. I had a body wrap and the service was perfectly acceptable. The service room was small even though it had a shower right in it. Unfortunately, with the sink being right by my head, it kind of ruined the relaxation of the wrap with the sound of the utensils being washed out. The spa isn't laid out in a circular pattern, it's more of rooms along a corridor. So you have four showers, the toilets, and the sinks/makeup area in one room, the "relaxation room" with couches and drinks in another, the lockers in another, the spa in one, and then all the way down the hall are the steam and sauna rooms. Really, it's fine for relaxing before or after a service or workout but I certainly wouldn't pay just to enter it. There just are not enough amenities for that. read more

The day before I had worked out at their gym which I'm glad I did because having a relaxing massage for sore muscles was just perfect! My masseuse Carl was so awesome that I upgraded from a 50 min to an 80 min massage. I was so relaxed afterwards! The spa itself was clean and relaxing. The Women's lounge had complementary water, juice, fruit and pretzels. Other amenities include a small gym, sauna, hot tub Jacuzzi. Got an online deal for a 50 minute massage for $80.00. Cindy was my massage therapist and she was great. Got off to a slow start to find the hot tub wasn't hot and the attendant told me it would take an hour to heat up. She mentioned some sort of maintenance issue. No big deal I went to the relaxation room to read and drink tea. Bottom line, for the money this was a great deal. I have also visited the spa at Bellagio and Qua Waters at Caesars. Caesars would be a better bet if you were with a group. You can just pay the entry fee and float around in 5 or six different spa tubs if on a budget. I thought the massage was worth the money and I enjoyed my visit to this spa. read more
