Good food but not a good atmosphere. You go to the counter and order than they bring your food to the table. Which was fine but the place was doing a remodeling project. They were painting as customers were eating just feet away! That was a big problem for me because of the smell. We ordered Greek salad, Waldorf chicken salad (in an avocado) and the very popular fried chicken sandwich with pickles! It was a very rare occasion, I woke up one morning and decided I wanted something healthy to eat. I had passed by Ripe many times and decided today was the day I'd grab a healthy lunch and give it a try. Now don't ask me why but I thought Ripe was an organic healthy eatery. Maybe it's the name, maybe it's the white and green color of the place I don't know but that's what I thought. Absolutely nowhere does it say organic or anything of the sort. While standing at the counter waiting to place my order I looked over the menu and thought to myself hum... tacos and fries doesn't sound all that healthy. I ended up ordering a Ranchero wrap with a side of grapes. After taking a bite which was very tasty I thought the wrap itself tasted odd. After further looking at the menu I finally realized this wasn't a healthy organic eatery it was a gluten free one. Again this was totally on me, I'm laughing about it now. I have to say for everything there being gluten free this place is not too shabby. I did enjoy my wrap and I'm sure I'll come back with my friends who have pretend gluten allergies in the future. I think this is my new favorite place to eat in the area. Whenever I travel to Boca, I struggle to find healthy, 100% gluten free, celiac safe restaurants. And VOILA, Ripe Delray appeared. My first meal here was the poke bowl. Granted, I'm from CA where the poke bowls are little more full, but for a FL poke option, this one was good. I also had a side of sweet potato fries, because they are in a gluten free frier, yay!, and sweet potato fries are hard to find. They were perfect! The second time I went, I really wanted a burger but needed my food to go, so wasn't sure how that would go, so instead I ordered the terriyaki bowl for delivery. It was way better than the one from Bolay. It was mixed together more and the taste was exactly what I needed. The line to order went pretty fast, meaning I was the only one in line, but the wait for my order took a bit longer. They do have outside and indoor seating and plenty of parking available as well. Very good! My Yum Yum Turkey burger was indeed yummy with a lot of flavor. I'd never had a rice bun before but now I'm a fan. The only thing to keep in mind is this burger gets a bit messy to eat because the sauce soaks into the rice bun and it starts to fall apart a little. Oh well! Grab a fork or spoon and continue eating it like a bowl. The staff had good recommendations which I needed because the menu was pretty big. They have indoor and outdoor seating which is nice. I was in Delray for the weekend and managed to go twice. It's a walk up counter and they bring your food when it's ready. What a relief to NOT have to ask "Is it gluten free?" because EVERYTHING is gluten free here and wonderful. On Saturday, I had the crispy chicken sandwich which puts Chik-fil-whatever to shame. Perfect crispiness on a soft potato roll with sweet pickle chips. I accompanied it with yuca fries and garlic aioli dipping sauce. My friend had one of the cauliflower crust pizzas and butternut squash fries and it was yum also. Sunday I had the Yum Yum burger which is a Thai take on a burger. I chose turkey but you can get beef or a vegan patty also. It's on a sticky rice bun with cabbage and peanut sauce (I needed extra sauce- I like it saucy!) The waffle sweet potato fries were tasty and crisp. My friend had a pizza with the cauliflower dish- I forget what it's called but it was also good. My parents had recently moved to the area and wanted to find some healthy spots to eat. Food: 3.5/5 I ordered the ahi tuna tartare and my parents got the cauliflower grilled cheese. The tuna tartare was creamy and really nice with avocado, but I wished it had more flavor. It would be better with some spice. It came with sweet potato chips though, which were really good. The cauliflower grilled cheese was definitely not like a normal sandwich, so don't try picking it up. It could have been more crispy, but the taste was really good. Staff: 4/5 There aren't waiters, but the employees did seem quite friendly :) Atmosphere: 4/5 It's pretty casual and chill. We sat outside, which was nice. Price: 3.5/5 The tuna tartare is $12 and the grilled cheese is $8.50. It's a bit pricey, but it is understandable since avocado prices have gone up. As for the grilled cheese, I think it should be a bit cheaper. I gave it a 4, but I think it's more deserving of a 3.5. If you want a healthy meal or snack, you should try it out :) read more
