On the positive side, we did not have a wait for a table. The server was lovely and gave us very good service. The vegetables were delicious - we had sides of sautéed spinach ($9) and charred Brussels sprouts (listed as an app at $14). A meatballs starter ($16) was also enjoyed - with a dollop of whipped ricotta in the center. Two of us had pasta entrees. The spaghetti could best be described as "industrial" or "so so" (as one dining companion said). The chicken in the chicken Marsala was "very good". The butterflied shrimp in the parmigiana was so thickly encrusted with fried breading, that the shrimp was completely overwhelmed by mouthfuls of crusty batter that adhered to the shrimp. It was hard to appreciate the shrimp at all in there. They were huge (in fact, they looked like small breaded chicken filets). But the excess of breading and batter overwhelmed the shrimp. Also, stomach not feeling so great later. I write this from the throne. The server had the manager come over to speak to us, and he insisted that's just how it's made and that was that. (He offered to have a few more shrimp cooked up but the meal was done at that point). $32 was a lot to pay for mediocre pasta and breading with shrimp. On the fair side, when asked about the shrimp parmigiana vs another dish, the server said that she would recommend the shrimp because there would be more to take home after - which was not our goal for dinner. For my meal I would give it no more than 2 stars but my companions enjoyed theirs more (despite the "so so" spaghetti), so I upped to 3. Will not be eating here again. read more

Great wood fire restaurant! We came here on a Sunday night and were seated right away outside. Thankfully they had patio heaters to keep us warm on an usually chilly night. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan Pizza and it was delicious! It came out very quickly because the oven is kept at 700 degrees. The chicken was breaded crispy, with a tender meat. It's vodka sauce with bacon was the best part, creating a creamy and sweet tomato flavor. I didn't taste the bacon too much but saw a few diced pieces. On top was, shredded mozzarella, fresh basil, and parmesan for a cheesy bite. It was even better with red pepper flakes sprinkled. There are 6 slices cut into the pizza, so it was very filling and I had leftovers for lunch the next day. Recommend checking this restaurant out, menu is full of plenty of options! read more

Eggplant Rollantini was devoid of flavor - except for salt. A pizza had a soggy center and we left most of it. Several other items were also in the below average league with the exception of a pretty good Chicken Francese. Dessert would have been okay except the ice cream really had an off putting artificial taste. The dining room is basic and could benefit from an upgrade. I had the scallops risotto and it was amazing.. just wanted to chew it slowly so it would last longer. Risotto was a bit salty for my taste but lately I've been super sensitive to salt. I had asked if I could place an order to go the shorter man shrugged and I said I would order from the bar and wait Both Managers made me feel unwelcome. I have been ordering catered food from here and the quality is great. I loved the chicken piccata, arugula salad, and the cheese and cream sauce tortellini. Great choice for big groups if you want something different for your team. Haven't been to the location itself. We were 2 couples here on a Friday night. This time we sat outside in the porch area which was delightful because of the breeze and the fact that it was less noisy. Great choice. Joe was our waiter. He didn't bring bread to our table until we had asked. He brought over a pitcher of Sangria but didn't pour it for us. It was quite heavy. Our dinners were delicious though. Two of us had the eggplant Parmesan with sautéed veggies. Very impressive portion and the others got the chicken Parmesan with spaghetti and a lovely salad with a grilled piece of salmon cooked the way instructed. absolute horrible service ...I hesitate to even give it 1 star because we never even had the chance to eat. We made a reservation and specified needed a half booth as someone back surgery. As we arrived it was a huge liner up out the doors. it took us 10 monies to even say we were there. we we finally made it to the hostess stand we were told we would have to wait as there were no tables available. It was so long and so many people standing around , they obviously take many reservations at the same time one after another to make the place look full bit can't accommodate. My friend and I ordered the shrimp parm and Imordered it with spinach. She didn't ealize you could so that and when it came with her spaghetti she saw mine and asked if she could get spinach.The waiter said they would take cate of it. Then Philip the manager came over and said he would have to charge her for it- He said it was probably $5. We had a reservation at 5:30pm. It took FOREVER for a high chair to get delivered to the table, and when it did, it was missing the middle strap so the baby could fall out. When the salads finally came, one of the dressings was wrong. After an hour and 15 minutes, the waiter said the manager would be over (we did not complain at this time). The manager, Chris, came over and made an excuse that it was busy and did not once apologize and tried to say he was not making any excuses but when told the baby's meal of spaghetti should not have taken this long, he just looked and smiled. He then brought the bill and stated "We looked at the metrics" and only comped the 2 kids meals under 3 years old. We ordered a Caesar salad and the crispy eggplant burrata pizza. The Caesar was excellent-- large, good croutons, and just the right amount of dressing. The salad was graced with slices of fresh Parmesan cheese on top. Nice touch. The pizza was very good and different; no tomato sauce but really tasty yellow and red baby tomatoes. You walk in and are immediately greeted by the warm embrace of... fluorescent lighting and folding chairs that feel like they were salvaged from a church basement in 1998. Cozy! Romantic! I half-expected a folding table with a red-checkered vinyl cloth and a dusty Chianti bottle holding a candle. Instead, I got the unmistakable chill of a walk-in freezer and seats that make budget-airline middle seats feel like a La-Z-Boy. The menu? A greatest-hits compilation of every tired Italian-American cliché you've suffered through since the Clinton administration, except now everything costs roughly what you'd pay on Worth Avenue or in Miami--if those places suddenly decided to triple their prices and fire everyone who knows how to cook. Thirty dollars for chicken parm the size of a deck of cards? Sure, why not. Location, location, location... said no one ever about this parking-lot palazzo. And the food--mamma mia, the food. My chicken parm arrived looking like it had lost a fight with a panini press and tasted like someone forgot salt was a thing that exists. The side pasta--advertised as "penne alla vodka"--was a crime scene: mushy noodles drowning in a broken, curdled sauce that somehow managed to be both watery and greasy. It was the culinary equivalent of a sad trombone. I've had better vodka sauce from a jar I bought at 2 a.m. from a gas station in Connecticut. At least that one had the decency to be $4.99. This place isn't Italian. It's Italian cosplay performed by people who once watched an Olive Garden commercial and thought, "Yeah, I can do that... but worse and more expensive." Save your money, your taste buds, and your lower back (those chairs, seriously). Drive the extra ten minutes into downtown or just boil some spaghetti at home. You'll thank me when you're not paying premium prices for what tastes like hospital cafeteria marinara served in a converted T.J. Maxx. Zero stars. Actually, negative stars.
