Met a few friends here after work for dinner since it's very close to home. The restaurant was very busy, which seems to be the norm. We shared the mussels and chopped Italian salad to start, and both were very good. For my entrée, I split the eggplant parmesan with my girlfriend, and we both enjoyed it. The reason I don't come here often is because it's just too loud for me. On top of that, the chairs aren't very comfortable, so between the noise and the seating, it's hard for me to relax and enjoy a meal. My friends picked this place mainly because it's convenient for me, and I appreciate that. Great wood fire restaurant! We came here on a Sunday night and were seated right away outside. Thankfully they had patio heaters to keep us warm on an usually chilly night. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan Pizza and it was delicious! It came out very quickly because the oven is kept at 700 degrees. The chicken was breaded crispy, with a tender meat. It's vodka sauce with bacon was the best part, creating a creamy and sweet tomato flavor. I didn't taste the bacon too much but saw a few diced pieces. On top was, shredded mozzarella, fresh basil, and parmesan for a cheesy bite. It was even better with red pepper flakes sprinkled. There are 6 slices cut into the pizza, so it was very filling and I had leftovers for lunch the next day. Recommend checking this restaurant out, menu is full of plenty of options! read more

Eggplant Rollantini was devoid of flavor - except for salt. A pizza had a soggy center and we left most of it. Several other items were also in the below average league with the exception of a pretty good Chicken Francese. Stopped here with some friends that have dinner and overall it was pretty good. The muscles and clams were actually delicious. Tried the pizza and it was good, I thought the crust was a little soft but overall not bad. Service was decent, guys serving the food were a little confused but nice. I had lunch here with my mom and brother, I didn't have super high expectations because I feel that they quality of food across restaurants has gone down in general, but I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the short rib ravioli, it was delicious! The short rib was by far the highlight (only because I'm not a big cheese ravioli fan). I had asked if I could place an order to go the shorter man shrugged and I said I would order from the bar and wait Both Managers made me feel unwelcome. I have been ordering catered food from here and the quality is great. I loved the chicken piccata, arugula salad, and the cheese and cream sauce tortellini. Great choice for big groups if you want something different for your team. Haven't been to the location itself. We were meeting friends for happy hour at Wood & Fire Grill. The happy hour drink menu was excellent. I ordered a Belvedere which was included in their happy hour pricing. That was impressive. The restaurant ambience was comfortable and unassunimg. The bar area was opposite of where we had been seated outdoors. As for dinner, we ordered breaded fried chicken cutlets and pizza. We were 2 couples here on a Friday night. This time we sat outside in the porch area which was delightful because of the breeze and the fact that it was less noisy. Great choice. Joe was our waiter. He didn't bring bread to our table until we had asked. He brought over a pitcher of Sangria but didn't pour it for us. It was quite heavy. Our dinners were delicious though. Two of us had the eggplant Parmesan with sautéed veggies. Very impressive portion and the others got the chicken Parmesan with spaghetti and a lovely salad with a grilled piece of salmon cooked the way instructed. On the positive side, we did not have a wait for a table. The server was lovely and gave us very good service. The vegetables were delicious - we had sides of sautéed spinach ($9) and charred Brussels sprouts (listed as an app at $14). A meatballs starter ($16) was also enjoyed - with a dollop of whipped ricotta in the center. Two of us had pasta entrees. The spaghetti could best be described as "industrial" or "so so" (as one dining companion said). The chicken in the chicken Marsala was "very good". The butterflied shrimp in the parmigiana was so thickly encrusted with fried breading, that the shrimp was completely overwhelmed by mouthfuls of crusty batter that adhered to the shrimp. It was hard to appreciate the shrimp at all in there. They were huge (in fact, they looked like small breaded chicken filets). But the excess of breading and batter overwhelmed the shrimp. Also, stomach not feeling so great later. I write this from the throne. The server had the manager come over to speak to us, and he insisted that's just how it's made and that was that. (He offered to have a few more shrimp cooked up but the meal was done at that point). $32 was a lot to pay for mediocre pasta and breading with shrimp. On the fair side, when asked about the shrimp parmigiana vs another dish, the server said that she would recommend the shrimp because there would be more to take home after - which was not our goal for dinner. For my meal I would give it no more than 2 stars but my companions enjoyed theirs more (despite the "so so" spaghetti), so I upped to 3. Will not be eating here again. read more

Went here for lunch. They have a large covered outdoor area which was nice-- but you heard the sound of traffic on busy Atlantic Avenue. We ordered a Caesar salad and the crispy eggplant burrata pizza. The Caesar was excellent-- large, good croutons, and just the right amount of dressing. The salad was graced with slices of fresh Parmesan cheese on top. Nice touch. The pizza was very good and different; no tomato sauce but really tasty yellow and red baby tomatoes. absolute horrible service ...I hesitate to even give it 1 star because we never even had the chance to eat. We made a reservation and specified needed a half booth as someone back surgery. As we arrived it was a huge liner up out the doors. it took us 10 monies to even say we were there. we we finally made it to the hostess stand we were told we would have to wait as there were no tables available. It was so long and so many people standing around , they obviously take many reservations at the same time one after another to make the place look full bit can't accommodate. My friend and I ordered the shrimp parm and Imordered it with spinach. She didn't ealize you could so that and when it came with her spaghetti she saw mine and asked if she could get spinach.The waiter said they would take cate of it. Then Philip the manager came over and said he would have to charge her for it- He said it was probably $5. I was surprised since I thought they would make it right...My friend said do whatever you need to do. Finally, when it was time to bring the spinach out, Philip came over and said we decided not to charge you- I found out it would be $9. I told him I was glad he did the right thing. Being in customer relations, you try and help out the customer. He agreed. The pts we folks at the table order pizzas and enjoyed them. We had a reservation at 5:30pm. It took FOREVER for a high chair to get delivered to the table, and when it did, it was missing the middle strap so the baby could fall out. When the salads finally came, one of the dressings was wrong. After an hour and 15 minutes, the waiter said the manager would be over (we did not complain at this time). The manager, Chris, came over and made an excuse that it was busy and did not once apologize and tried to say he was not making any excuses but when told the baby's meal of spaghetti should not have taken this long, he just looked and smiled. He then brought the bill and stated "We looked at the metrics" and only comped the 2 kids meals under 3 years old.
