We came here for a date night and we did not make a reservation. I highly recommend making a reservation before you go as the restaurant is Tiny and have very limited seating. We got lucky that it was not busy and we were able to get seated right away. We got empanadas to start as an appetizer, and they were amazing! Then my husband and I both got the hand cut steak. They had cut very well was very easy to eat with amazing flavors. Unfortunately, mine was medium rare even though I wanted it to be medium. They were able to easily fix that. I did takeout at Santana's Kitchen and Cocktails on a Friday, early evening. Apparently, the restaurant had full reservations later that evening. Santana's is located in the Delray (Andre) Design District area, which I don't think is well known and a bit hard to find. It's a right hand turn off Congress (just south of Atlantic Ave) into a small access road that's easy to miss. It is definitely worth visiting and has many interesting establishments set in a few rows of warehouse spaces, including art studios, restaurants, work out places and other types of businesses. I ordered a few items but barely touched the menu. I recommend the duck empanada, they are very good, as is the spinach empanada. You get one / order. For a main, I tried the Fuego y Elote with pork and it was very good. Also, the creamy pumpkin quesadillas were great. For sides, the beans and rice and street corn were good. There are vegan options and many cool cocktails to try. The ruby red sangria looked amazing and I want to try it next time. We stopped in here for a last minute dinner and it might just be the best meal I've had in South Florida. While the service is admittedly slow and the space is small, both are due to the love and care that the owners put into every dish. The cocktails are delicious. The bacon can't be missed. Loved this place! The owners/servers are very attentive and make you feel welcome. It is a small place but really nice atmosphere and feels very clean. For drinks we ordered the C. Cruz 1925 ($9) and the Latin Lover($12). The C. Cruz was great, I highly recommend if you love tropical rum drinks. My mom got the Latin lover and she said it was great. I do think there should've been more liquid in the Latin lover for the price point but it might just appear to be less because there's not a huge ice cube. We ordered the Guava Glazed Duck Empanada ($6), Savory Pumpkin Pupusa ($12), and the Candied Beef Bacon ($10). Loved the duck empanada, I wish we had ordered two. Would definitely order again. The candied beef bacon was also great and you can tell the ingredients were high quality. The only disappointment was the pumpkin pupusa. I found it very bland. Overall great restaurant. Andy rhe owner and who helped me with recommendations went over and beyond. not just with me but with all his guests. it's a small place semi hidden in what appears an industrial area. nice hidden gem. owned and operates by his wife who is the chef and himself. Will def come back when I am in the area. I tried the popusa with pumpkin sauce., very different but very good also took a shrimp Mediterranean appetizer to go for the wifey who she said loved it. It's nice to go to small family owned and operated businesses and even nicer when the business is very good and Santana's was just that. The dining room is snug but comfortable with just four tables and I believe our excellent waiter was also the owner. We went with his recommendations and that was a good choice. Just about every item we tried was familiar but here it was elevated and the flavors melded nicely with the subtleness that fresh ingredients bring. We really liked the Roasted Carrot Bowl and the Chicken with Corn. The only dish I thought was just okay were the Pumpkin Quesadilla and maybe that's just a preference thing. Drinks were very good. omg! I have found my new go to. I'm so disappointed most of the time in the quality of the restaurants in delray. It's wonderful to find something so fantastic with many vegetarian and vegan options. We started out with a sangria, which has a secret recipe that can't be beat and then we had the delicious Yucca fries and we each chose a different bowl. It was beautifully presented, perfectly cooked and so healthy and delicious !Hat's off to the chef and Owner Amy . Service was exceptional too. Justin was the best. It's a very tiny place. I simply feel a responsibility to my fellow Yelp subscribers to tell them of great opportunities I have found and also places i will not go back to. You response is written from the heart and is subjective. Unfortunately you fail to respond to my itemized issues: 1. How can you be out of lettuce Sat. nite at 6 Pm at the start of your busy evening? 2. What about the size of your tiny apps and the Pumpkin See Pupea which was called an entre by your bartender/waiter. 3. And most importantly how can you explain my being served my app and entree before my wife was served anything? She ordered an app also. Oh boy. Andy is great, he is very nice, caring and welcoming. He's so nice it's almost like he's trying to pull at your heart strings so you can ignore how bad the food is. With all of the great recommendations seen, I was very excited to try Santana's. I have no idea how there are so many positive reviews. If Andy had his mom try what I was just served she would be embarrassed for him. The portions were little and obviously reheated Sysco. I have eaten a lot of military meals in my time, and can guarantee that the guacamole and jalapeños on my burger were Sysco. How can you not make your own guacamole at a Latin restaurant? McDonald's would make a bigger burger for a third of the price and the same level of trash ingredients. There's a section of the menu emphasizing the lack of highly refined oils, lard, or deep frying but notably nothing confirming the quality of the ingredients. The prices weren't crazy but if I knew I was getting some highly processed food anyways I would've just went to chipotle. It took an hour and 5 minutes to get out a burger and bowl of corn. I don't care how small the restaurant is or if there's one guy making everything. It takes less than 10 minutes to make a burger. My food came out a good 10 minutes after my sister's and I wouldn't have minded, but it took 20 minutes to get a cup of water and 45 for the apps which were smaller than my thumb. Just hand me a bag of goldfish that's actually more food. The bowl my sister was given was just a Sysco slop bowl. How does it take so long to produce such disappointing results? Is the wait for the food so you get hungry and just stop caring about how bad it tastes? Please let me know. Don't even get me started on where it is. In short: a warehouse in a field of warehouses next to car mechanic shops with minimal seating and no leg room. Latin American food? More like American Latin food. Won't be coming back or recommending this junk anywhere. read more

Kudos to Andy and Amy, one of the friendliest and most welcoming couples I've met in the restaurant world. And if that wasn't enough they make amazing food and drinks. The four of us lingered in the parking lot talking about how much fun we had. I'm not into photos of food but next time I just might have to take some. They make their own "everything" The drinks were delicious with house made syrups and the sangria was amazing. I had a fantastic burger (which will be entered in the Boca Burger Bash) with incredible yucca fries, my wife had shrimp in a garlic sauce on a yucca mash, there was a pumpkin cream quesadilla and an elote dish with chicken that was perfectly spicy. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The restaurant is very small and is located in what was once a small garage in converted industrial building. Although this sounds a bit weird, the space is actually very cleanly and elegantly decorated and the ambiance is wonderful. We had a variety of different dishes and they were uniformly excellent.
