Ripon Social Burger with the Social Margarita
    Marc R.

Formerly American Social and now Ripon Social. This was my first time dining here since this location changed from a prior restaurant. The shape of the building is quite unique in that it is circular shaped. All seating is on the outside of the circle with a full bar in the center of the restaurant. If you enjoy watching your chef staff prepare your food, the entire cooking area can be seen from most of the restaurant. This is due to the kitchen having clear glass where a traditional wall would be. We dined here on a Saturday night and made reservations in advance. Upon arrival, the hostess located our reservation and promptly seated our party of four. It took about ten minutes for our waiter to arrive and greet us. However, he was pretty attentive to our table the rest of our visit. I ordered the Ripon Social Burger. The meat patty is 8oz and made of short ribs & brisket. It is served on a seeded brioche bun with French fries. I have to say the short ribs/brisket meat patty was pretty dang good. The French fries were a bit skinnier than traditional fries. They tasted great and had a nice crunch. The meal paired well with the Social Margarita. When the waiter learned we were celebrating a birthday, he brought us a large cut brownie topped with vanilla ice cream. The brownie was large enough for the four of us to indulge it. If a member of your party is in the military or a first responder, the restaurant graciously offers a 10% discount. We had a good experience here and would dine here again.

Ambiance is great! Decor feels nice and refreshing with open high ceilings, glass that sees into the kitchen and an open bar in the middle of the restaurant. Came here for the 1st time for brunch and it did not disappoint. Hubby said his breakfast scramble was delicious with no extra seasonings needed. My Cole slaw chicken sandwich was tasty and balanced in flavor! My favorite was actually the coconut mojito! It was light and refreshing. Will definitely need to come back and try their dinner menu. We were seated quickly for a Sunday morning and food came out super fast as well!

The food, the aesthetics, & the service were awesome! We loved our server. So knowledgeable and friendly. I had the eggplant rolled with creamy ricotta cheese in middle baked w/marinara. 5 stars just for that dish! My friend ordered the veal and loved it. I was here when it was Fina's. I didn't really notice anything different about interior. It is now being called Ripon Social. Highly recommend this restaurant .

Beautiful restaurant and beautiful location. The service was good. We had a good time. Highly recommended. Casual vibe. Good for date nights

I made reservations for Thanksgiving. It accepted it. Day of I got a confirmation text asking if I was coming. I typed 1 and it confirmed. An hour before the reservation I got a text saying I was expected in an hour! I get to the restaurant and it seemed quiet. The doors were locked and it was dark. They were CLOSED! I had to find another place for dinner! Highly disappointed!

Had dinner with a friend; it was pretty quiet on a Thursday evening but the ambiance was very nice. We had the Spinach & Mushroom Arancinis as an appetizer; they were large and full of flavor. I ordered the Lasagna Bolognese as my meal and it was delicious. Because we were celebrating birthdays, we were treated a giant brownie with ice cream on top. That thing was soooo good. Great meal, we will be back again!

This place was good. The old fashions were made perfect. The meatballs were a little overcooked but the sauce and bread made up for it. Both entrees were delicious

We've been wanting to come here for a long time now. We were timid at first because we thought everyone had to make reservations but going during lunch wasn't bad. We came last Friday around 12:30 and there was no wait and only about 3 other tables of people there. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and my partner ordered the burger. Both were amazing but the burger topped everything. That had to have been the best burger I've ever had. I ordered their gin drink too and surprising enough not many people order it yet it was extremely tasty. Sour but yummy. The lemon really hits.

4-Star Review for Ripon Social Ripon Social is such a classy and beautifully put together restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and elevated. We ordered the lasagna and the margarita pizza, paired with an old-fashioned and a margarita, and every single item was exquisite. The flavors were rich, balanced, and clearly crafted with care. We were seated right next to the open kitchen, which ended up being one of the highlights of the night. Watching the chefs prepare our meal added a really unique touch it felt like dinner and a show. There was also live music, which brought a fun energy to the space. The only downside was the noise level. It was extremely loud, to the point where it was tough to hold a conversation without leaning in. If the volume were a bit more controlled, the experience would easily be a perfect five stars. Even with that, the atmosphere was amazing, and I would absolutely recommend the dishes we tried. The food alone is worth the visit, and Ripon Social definitely knows how to create a memorable dining experience.

We had our company holiday dinner here. It was all of our first time and were not disappointed. They had us in a private room which was nice and intimate and felt comfortable. I had the steak and it was cooked to perfection. Although I didn't try all of the appetizers, the presentation and service was really good. The drinks were really good as well. I had whisky sour with a little amaretto in it and it was amazing, so a shout to the bartenders too.

Very nice place in Ripon. Easy drive from Manteca. Food and drinks were great... chicken is top notch!! Good service by the staff. We brought our baby and fur baby and they accommodated us on the balcony along with heaters... that was generous! We will be back.

They offered $10 drinks and also $10 appetizers. I ended up getting their tacos de papa from their happy hour, which is two tacos, but they are very fulfilling. They're very delicious and I did not see them in the regular menu so if you go during happy hour, it's definitely a must try. I also ordered Jesse's favorite, which is a Chile that looks like a chille relleno, but it's not instead of the egg it has a cream sauce on top and inside it has ground beef . My dad ordered the fajitas which they came with a side of cilantro rice and beans and also all the fixings like guacamole and stuff. Let me tell you the fajitas meal was huge. You could definitely share it with somebody else. I have to say their portions are very generous. For drinks they have beers margaritas my mother had a Chavela, which is beer with lime. I'm not a big tequila fan, but they do have a full bar so I just changed the dirty linen drink for Gin instead of tequila and it was very delicious . The service everyone was really nice and attentive. Overall, we had a great dinner my family and I we had a lot of food and a lot of good laughs. I would definitely come back. I have to say I love their tacos de Papa and for them being on happy hour it's a win-win.

If you don't care, I don't care. I'm not eating here anymore. I'd rather make a bologna sandwich at home. Having eaten at Las Casuelas at least a dozen times, I've gotten the full experience. At best, the food here ever so slightly resembles something truly Mexican. The flavors are muted. The mole, for example, tastes like it was made out of box. It lacks complexity. The beans seem to just sit on hold and have the quality of leftovers. This place is more like Chevys than a real Mexican restaurant. If you want to drink beer, eat salsa, chips, and guacamole then this is the place for you. The service is friendly but that doesn't mean the service can be considered good. Frankly, I don't care if they throw the food at me as long as it tastes good! Just because you serve it with a smile doesn't make it taste any better. The focus seems to be on expediting the food out of the kitchen window instead of considering, "Would I serve this to my mother?" The restaurant doesn't appear to have consistent recipes nor the cooks who are trained and willing to live up to any standard. There is no attention to detail. For the most part, ingredients seem to be thrown together in a sloppy and haphazard way. I've always had to remind the servers to make sure my food comes out hot, please don't overcook the food, can you be sure to bring us some salsa??? This final time, I asked for Chicken Milanese which is essentially a pounded out piece of chicken breast. It's fried chicken. I asked them to please refrain from overcooking it. What arrived was a very, very thin peace a chicken that had been fried to a crisp. It was more of a cracker than poultry at that point. All of the juices and fat had been cooked right out of the chicken breast. Tasteless. If the same chicken had not been pounded down to the thickness of a fingernail, then it would have been harder to murder it in the deep fryer. I let the waiter know and he didn't care. My friend asked for soup without vegetables. Guess what? I spent my dinner watching him conduct soup-surgery, removing the vegetables like he was playing that game, Operation, and dripping broth all over the table in the process. People usually go to restaurants to have the cooks prepare the food for them and, unless you're at a Korean BBQ, most costumers expect the food to arrive at the table, "ready-to-eat". Alright, this is the nail in the coffin. They served me a tomato with the tomato pit in it. Do I need to prep the tomatoes now too? All of you can do better, you just don't.

The restaurant is connected to (or at least shares a building with) the casino, so parking can be a little tricky. Most of the lot was full when we arrived, and I ended up parking on the street. Inside, it's really cute. They have a great wine display right when you walk in, a cozy dining area, and a small outdoor patio that looked like a nice spot to sit. Service was good. Nothing over the top, but friendly and exactly what you'd expect. The menu sounded fantastic, which made me really excited. We ordered oysters, lobster bisque, filet mignon, scallop pasta, lobster mac and cheese, and I had an Old Fashioned. The oysters and bisque were both okay, the filet and pasta were decent, but honestly nothing really stood out. The biggest disappointment was the lobster mac and cheese. If you love lobster mac like I do and always order it when it's on the menu, I'd skip this one. It wasn't really mac and cheese at all. The sauce didn't taste cheesy, the presentation wasn't appealing, and it ended up being one of my least favorite versions I've had. Overall, it's a nice restaurant with a good atmosphere, but the food just didn't wow me. If someone invited me back for another celebration, I'd happily go. It just wouldn't be my first choice if I were picking the restaurant myself.
