On a long drive and looking for coffee that wasn't Starbucks. Stumbled upon this place and glad we did. Friendly service and great coffee!

Was not open at 7:51 am on Thursday - does not appear to be in business as it looked boarded up.

Came in at opening time, we got a white mocha, hot chocolate, two muffins and two hats. Great customer service, great local art and merchandise from local artists. While we waited, another person came in and he mentioned he was passing through again and they remembered him. This is a nice, clean, friendly coffee shop with a welcoming atmosphere. read more

I don't like writing negative reviews, but this needs to be said. We stopped in a few days ago and we were shocked to see and hear the woman behind the counter berating a teenage worker. It appeared to me that they might have been related. The woman was slamming things down, and yelling at the girl. It was very disturbing. No business can survive without treating its workers well. read more

Today I had a most wonderful experience at rise and grind. Not only were the drinks delicious but the friendliness of the young lady working there brightened my day. As a military service member, I have to travel quite a lot for work. Often I stop by small mom and pop shops to enjoy the vibe of a small town I'm passing through. This was by far the most wonderful place I have stopped at. In particular, the barista Jessica was professional, kind, and presented outstanding service. I wish more restaurants and cafes had employees of her caliber and disposition. If I am ever back in the area, rise and grind will be a must-go stop! If I could, I'd give it 6 stars instead of 5!!! read more

I really like this place. A small independent coffee house that serves great coffee. I was there close to closing time and the selection of pastries was small so I can't comment on that. But good people and great coffee will keep me coming back when I'm traveling through Arbuckle on Interstate 5. Such a cute and cozy place. They even have a kids' corner with toys and books. They sale more than just coffee and tea and the employees are so friendly. Stopped by this afternoon to fill my cookie craving. Had a wonderful peanut butter cookie. Friendly service, clean and pleasant. This place is a little hard to find if you are not familiar with Arbuckle, but if you are passing through it is supper easy to get to from the freeway. They have lots of different stuff on the menu, like soup and salad and I will go back soon to try their biscuits and gravy (until 10am). They have an espresso bar and smoothies too. Went back for biscuits and gravy. Not my favorite b&g but certainly worth more than the $1.99 price tag. Owners are super friendly and everything is fresh in-house. read more

Stopped by on the way up north for a vacation. Arbuckle is a very small town with few stores or restaurants so we weren't expecting much. However, Rise and Grind surprised us. The store front is very plain and we located it based on the sign on the side walk. Ordered two coffees and an egg sandwich. The sandwich was made by hand thanks to the Owner. It was fresh and tasty. Stopped in Arbuckle for a pit stop. Saw that there was a local coffee shop. The reviews were raving about how great this place was. I thought I would like to try something from there. I ordered an iced latte, a standard order for every shop I visit, and waited. I never saw them touch the espresso machine which appeared to be broken. They may have used drip coffee and the bare minimum at that because when I received my order it tasted nothing like how a latte should taste like. It was just luke warm milk. $5 dollars for a shell of what it should have been. Nice folks tho, not so nice coffee experience read more

My husband and I are driving up I-5 on a Friday morning. 10:30 we decided we are hungry and see good yelp reviews for rise and grind in Arbuckle. Sounds good we are excited to try a new place on our drive north. The restaurant smells great. Like a little bakery. There is no one inside, so the place is empty. A young lady come out from the back and I mention we are hungry and would love to try some of they're food. They only have 2 lunch panini available at 10:30 am. Seriously???? Your business was listed as breakfast and brunch. Where is the brunch part? The least that young lady could have done was offered us a breakfast sandwich. Something quick and easy.
