Ok, if you want a quiet diner experience this place works. It's pretty big but super quiet inside. I don't have a lot of great things to say about it. Our server was really nice (Michelle, I believe) but everything else just meh. I'm giving them a 3 bc I had great service if it wasn't for the service I'd give them less because of food. The home fries were delicious but my omelette was the problem. I definitely expected a good omelette from a restaurant that boasts it has 53+ choices BUT who uses canned asparagus in an omelette?!?!?! Maybe it's my own fault, who knows. I have never had an omelette with canned asparagus.. it was mushy and although I did eat (because I was super hungry) it I won't be back. Parking and the entry is not ADA at all, front door is way - way hard to open. Waitresses are good, food is very cold and poor. Restrooms are atrocious and not ADA, This place is old and very unclean, bacon, sausage, ham, potatoes, and most all food is pre cooked. Looking into the kitchen was a shocker the floor was way past filthy and everything was greasy and dirty. Had a bleach smell when I asked the waitress she said it was bug spray. Now lets talk about high priced for the amount and quality of food, look at the meal ticket it is not priced out, just a total and they also add a 10% tip, never noticed until we left we also left a courtesy tip on the table. I had heard great things about this restaurant & it is always packed, which to me is usually a good indicator of good food. The restaurant has seen far better days and is in DIRE need of a make over. I almost left. Not the worst I have seen, but not good. It was not a busy time of day, yet getting someone to wait on me took a bit and she acted like she could care less. Found this hole in the wall joint before we started our last day of Xmas shopping. I got the California Garbage Breakfast plate and my GF got the Ham & Cheese Croissant. My 13yo DTR prespecrive: When you first walk into the restaurant the atmosphere is very dingy old dirty and broken down. It looks like it was stuck in the 80's. The potatoes and biscuits needed a little salt,but the omelets were good. Our waitress was good but not very happy and she didn't know alot about the menu. One of the waiters went outside to smoke then came back in and didn't even wash her hands and was coughing all over the place. I would never come back. Mine: basic atmosphere, nothing trendy for sure. Needs an update. Coffee= meh. Omletes are legit and very yummy. Made my own and was really good. My 2 boys were in hog heaven with undercooked potatoes and hasbrowns and not so flaky biscuits. Came in with my daughter this morning and this place is such a hidden gem the food is good! Bacon is thick and crispy but what really makes the place was our server Mechelle! Not only was she attentive but also extremely friendly and kind to my daughter! It was obvious that the other customers were regulars of hers and I can see why! Went downhill in my opinion. I wouldn't waste your time or money. The service and food were both terrible.

Stopped in after July 4th parade. Was told to seat ourselves (not a problem) but waited 5 minutes before getting anyone's Attention, was told our waitress would be right with us. After another 5 minutes I went and got our own menus but someone (not our waitress?) did get our drink order. Now here is where it gets really bad. After another 5 minutes we were still waiting to order food And were told again, our waitress would be right with us. Meanwhile, waited ANOTHER 5 minutes so I asked another waitresses if someone else could take our order. She didn't say a word but proceeded to walk over to our mystery waitress we haven't seen yet and complained about US. I overheard our waitress say "I'll get to them as soon as I can". That's not acceptable. They had several other waitresses, none of whom tried to take our order and just seemed bothered that we kept asking, to order food, after 20 minutes, so we got up and left, went across the street to Pantego cafe. I have visited rise and shine for 10 years, and I don't have high expectations from a greasy spoon, but I do expect to order and receive food, never again. read more

It does not look very appetizing, it is actually old looking but the food and the staff are definitely worth looking past that for! The food was hot, fast, and delicious and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming from when we walked in until we left. Get past the dated decor, and you'll enjoy one of the best breakfasts in Arlington! You must try the biscuits! They offer the largest omelet menu I've seen. I had the bacon, cheddar,mushroom, spinach and onion. The hash browns were crispy and delicious. All ingredients were fresh. The biscuits were large flakey, and clearly homemade. Coffee was hot and fresh. Again, although the decor is a bit 80s, everything seemed clean and we'll maintained. read more

I came here with a party of 24 and they handled us as best as they could. The server was a little overwhelmed but she was still sweet and very helpful. All of our food came out and none of it was cold. I had the omelet and hash browns with the biscuits and gravy! It was amazing. I tried the homemade bread and I wasn't a fan of that. I've been here 3 times since I learned about it on Yelp. The reviewer that made me want to go talked about the Chicken Fried Chicken being the best Chicken Fried ANYTHING he'd ever had. He was RIGHT. What can you do to them really? They arrived hot and cooked to order though. The bacon was everything you want bacon to be, nice and crispy. But the thing I want to recommend that will hopefully make YOU want to go is bread. They make this homemade bread here that is amazing. It comes in regular or raisin. Chalk that bread up as another reason to check this place out. The first time I had it I didn't even know it was homemade bread. I just ordered toast. But when I took the first bite I knew this was no slice of Texas toast from a bag. The second time I had the Raisin bread, and I'm really glad my momma wasn't there or I would have been forced to slap her. :) I had to to take one star off for the appearance. I woke up this morning wanting a good ole diner breakfast. I have been passing this place for well over 15 years so I decided to give it a try. I got a seat right off, The waitress I had was very nice and promptly brought me my drinks. I knew what I wanted so it didn't take me long to order. I asked for 3 eggs over easy, home fries, double order of bacon and homemade bread toast. Not complicated. When my order was brought it was sort of appetizing looking. But it was cold! The home fries tasted like they were cooked yesterday and had no seasoning on them. My eggs were busted on the plate with a lot of runny white still. The bacon was tough to chew as it was overcooked. The homemade bread toast ? It isn't really toasted, but rather buttered on one side then put on a grill and not one bit of crunch to it. Tried to sop up what was left of my egg yolk it just fell apart. Then some the check .... breakfast for ONE with coffee was almost $13.00!! The only reason I am giving 1 star is the waitress I had was okay. This cafe needs to do itself a favor and get someone in who knows how to cook and season food. Eggs are not rocket science! And serve your orders HOT. Won't be returning any time soon that's for sure. read more

Definitely a hole in the wall. If you have a weak stomach for places that look unsanitary- this isn't the place for you. The waitresses have attitude problems and mostly only check on their regulars. If you can get over those things- its a great breakfast spot that isn't completely packed out at 8am on Saturday. I finally made it over to grab a quick bite to eat, and boy, was I in for a treat. I expected this institution to crank out goods that did not surpass IHOP in service, atmosphere, and quality... pricing I assumed would be low, regardless. Pleasantly surprised would be my best gauge on how my experience went. With an expansive menu, you cannot be sure that you are going to make the right decision in what you order, but I actually found that the grub here was pretty good across the board, for what it is. The biscuit debris (great name, by the way) came with 2 tender, buttery biscuits absolutely smothered in white gravy, sausage, ham, and cheese. A little on the bland side, aside from the meat, but all in all, not bad! The homefries that accompanied this sloppy mess was a little less satisfactory, offering a lack of tenderness, flavor, and taste; no doubt old. Everything taken into account, I think that any individual who does very much take this eatery with a grain of salt with whatever comes out of the kitchen (you are paying $5 a head, for crying out loud) will find themselves to be quite pleased. read more

The waitress was amazing and provided super fast service. She was honest and actually told me the French fries and the chicken fried steak was frozen and that the chicken fried chicken was fresh and so I ordered that one. WOW! You really can tell that it was fresh...the chicken was moist and the breading...don't get me started it was soooo crispy and flavorful. I have tried my fair share of chicken fried EVERYTHING but this was probably too 2 if not 1! Through some odd fluke I never sat down and reviewed this place, but I've had many a fond memory over the past year. No longer, as I don't have a reason to go to Arlington much anymore, but I still remember deliciously massive (and massively delicious!!) omelettes made to order in a relaxed, unassuming traditional American diner atmosphere. The service was never anything less than friendly, in true Southern fashion. One note: the biscuits when I first started coming here in August 2011 were seriously mind-blowing; they seemed to have fallen off in quality a little since then, but they're still darn good. Gotta love that creamy gravy! EDIT: Okay, just wanted to add that the homemade raisin toast is, as other Yelpers have noted already, freakin' to die for! I think that's generally my favorite part of any breakfast combo meal I order. This is my favorite brunch place in Arlington! The location is really low-key - it's not a restaurant that really stands out and has a lot of curb appeal. The service is always pretty quick! The home made white bread was delicious and the food was reasonably priced and arrived quickly. However my bf and I were both disappointed in our omelets. We both ordered one with cream cheese in them and it came out in huge chunks in the the middle of the omelets, we both would have liked it better more mixed in. His omelet also had roast beef and asparagus, you couldn't even taste the meat. Basically I wouldn't ever drive 5 miles to go there again but if your in the area and looking for a reasonably priced breakfast this is your place. read more

I found this place using Yelp while in Arlington for the Cotton bowl. The restaurant reminded a lot of my favorite place back home. It was all very casual and felt like home. The menu was super large. There was a huge selection of omelets and other items including burgers, salads, and other breakfast items. The plates were huge! The homemade white bread was delicious! One of my favorites years ago. Went on Sunday before 11:00 am. Not crowded parking lot mostly empty. Seated ourselves as told waited for service. Went to ask for menus and water. Ordered easy breakfast- omelet and corned beef hash. After an hour wait and many request we asked for our food to go. Hubby had a tee time. Corned beef so salty almost inedible, potatoes almost raw, with some burnt spots. Great homemade toast. To go iced tea was in a tiny coffee cup. I won't be riding or shining to go there again.
