So we joined the waitlist on a Saturday which is clearly the busiest day to go, so overall I believe we waited an hour as a group of 8. Completely understandable. The hostess was very friendly. The server did not introduce themselves and it took quite a while for them to come to our table. It took 55 minutes for our food to come out. 80% of our order was correct and for the 20% that was wrong we decided to just bite the bullet because it was over 10 minutes before the server came back. The food wasn't worth the time and effort, and the espresso was so bitter, not smooth at all. The restaurant is quite cozy/small but nicely decorated. Bathrooms are clean. I think if you're just in the area and you can walk it it's worth it, but otherwise I wouldn't wait on this place. The portions are generous.

Wow! There was a wait for brunch on Sunday, but it was well worth it another amazing yelp find! I was in Syracuse for work, and needed a good brunch before I headed back south rise and shine diner is just what the doctor ordered! I sat at the bar, good service. Very cool decor in the small place. But the star of the show is definitely the food. I got the Witwhiz burger. It was fricking amazing! Home fries were super good. Also don't skip those! An amazing spot for breakfast or brunch in Syracuse. Parking is a little tight, but there is a street parking available too.

We have been here several times over the years and the best way to sum it up is: quantity over quality. We were seated quickly on a Monday for brunch and our waitress immediately brought waters. Then we waited and waited for breakfast. The food is fine but the portions are way too large. If you want simple, it's not the place for you. If you want to take a picture of your food and post it then end up throwing most in the trash then this is your place

My buddy and I drove an hour just to try this place. The menu here is absolutely insane and the flavor and quality lived up to the hype. Portion sizes are huuuuge. I recommend the cauliflower pizza. It was outstanding. We can't wait to bring out wives. We were able to park on site and although we did call ahead to be placed on the waiting list it was not necessary. If you are looking for a unique and filling breakfast experience, this is your place.

The staff was so nice and accommodating. The food was great and the portions were huge. Well worth the money. Only thing was we had to wait a while for the food and when it did come out the home fries were warm but not hot and the same went for the sausage and bacon. If it wasn't for the warm instead of hot food and the long wait it would have been 5 stars. Love the options and quality was superb! Will definitely be back with some more people to try other menu items.

I have always wanted to try this diner because of the incredibly unique and creative menu, cocktails, and simply everything looked great! Well we finally got there and boy oh boy we were not disappointed. Our server was so sweet and answered all of my questions regarding the sweetness of the specialty coffee and tea options. They gladly made what I was craving a pumpkin cappuccino which was creamy, not sweet, and the perfect balance of pumpkin... well done! After changing our mind a few times as the food options are endless we choose pastrami style salmon Benedict served on sourdough bread in a delightful presentation and the moist abundant salmon was perfectly seasoned did not let us down! Next we gobbled down the pork belly Benedict with a sweet spicy Korean style sauce piled high with frizzled onions. Both were incredible! The diner is eclectic, filled with fun decor and local diners. Westcott St. is a great place for unique cuisine and we will certainly return sooner than later!

Beautiful and aesthetically pleasing diner that serves unique and traditional breakfast / brunch entrees. Service was extremely up-beat and friendly. The portion sizes of some the entrees are massive! Definitely enough to feed 2+ people. Mimosas were delicious. I love the fact they have more than one mimosa flavor to choose from.

Came for birthday brunch and was not disappointed! This place is super busy with limited seating and only takes reservations for large parties - so prepare accordingly. There's something for everyone on the menu - great gluten free and vegan options. The gluten free cinnamon roll pancakes were perfect! The cauliflower breakfast pizza is also delicious and gluten free. Flaming French toast was a big hit along with the wings and Benny Flight. The waitress did not do the sparkler birthday celebration that some of the other tables got, but they were very busy. Everyone was friendly and we're excited to go back!

Had a great experience dining in the patio area. Service was prompt. Food was tasty. I really liked that they offered drink flights to try out a few different drink options they had. I went on a day when they aren't as busy. I have heard it can get really busy with wait times but I lucked out.

Yummmmmmm! I'm so glad we found this place. Super cute and quaint. We walked in and just sat at the bar. Their menu is EXTENSIVE! I had the Irish benny and hubs had the Basic B. all of it was delish! Definitely stop by if you're in the area. It's actually worth driving out of your area to go too!

A fun and exciting spot for brunch, breakfast, or lunch! For as good (and sometimes) crazy as the food looks, it tastes just as good. Can never go wrong with the eggs benny flight, breakfast poutine, mac n cheese, or pancake flight for something sweet. Surprisingly good wings!? The table LOVED the chipotle french toast wings, sweet, savroy, crispy, and a little spicy. However this place can get BUSY, you can join a waitlist over the phone or in person. Because it gets so busy food can take a little bit, but normally drinks/apps/entrees are well timed to one another. It can get a bit loud inside so prepare for that. I enjoyed my chai and my friend loved her french toast latte- cocktails are fun and unique but the food is overall better. Our server-Brianna V..?... Was thee BEST

We were passing thru Syracuse and wanted to grab breakfast. Rise n' Shine was recommended to us and we're so glad it was! Things that were outstanding: * presentation- the plating of the breakfast egg rolls and pancake "sushi"was innovative and fun. * taste: we all loved everything we ordered, including chicken and waffles, pancakes and the items above. Coffee was excellent too! * service: we were seated promptly and our service was efficient and friendly. * ambiance: bright, happy, cool light fixtures One note: the egg rolls could have been placed on a napkin or something to help absorb excess oil - still yummy! I'd recommend Rise n' Shine to anyone looking for a great meal with a side of creativity. Bravo!

Peruvian-Japanese! 4.7…read more We were far from home. It was our participation in Ross Bentley's Driver Development Course in Lafayette that brought us to the Syracuse area (see my review for Pineview Run Auto & Country Club). With the track only 20 minutes away, Syracuse was the best option for hotels and dining. Inka's Peruvian cuisine, with a splash of "Nikkei," was exactly what we were looking for and precisely what our bodies needed for fuel after some intense driving. The migration of Japanese immigrants to Peru in the late 1800s and early 1900s was the beginning of what eventually evolved into one of Peru's distinctive culinary traditions, now known as Nikkei. This unique cuisine blends Japanese techniques and ingredients with Peruvian flavors and traditions. At Inka's, those Peruvian roots take center stage, with touches of Nikkei cuisine developed by Chef Flavio Solórzano. We started with two cocktails: Maracuyá Sour (pisco, aquafaba, citrus and passion fruit) and Cuzco (Empress cucumber-lemon gin, mint, lemon juice, St-Germain and soda). Both were beautifully balanced and delicious. We finished them off rather quickly, which naturally led us to order a pitcher of red sangria. It was wonderfully refreshing after a long, hot day and paired beautifully with our meal. For our meal, we ordered: * Chicharrones de Calamari ~ Perfectly light and crispy breaded calamari, with both rings and tentacles, fried to a delicate crunch and served with their house tartar sauce. * Pollo a la Brasa ~ Peruvian-marinated chicken, slow-roasted over wood and charcoal until the skin was beautifully golden and crisp. It was served with french fries and their signature ají pollero sauce. The entrée also came with an ensalada verde, a side salad of mixed greens, tomato, onions and avocado tossed in a homemade vinaigrette. * Arroz Chaufa ~ Peruvian-style fried rice, wok-tossed with egg, scallions and lettuce in a sweet orange-pineapple sauce and topped with crispy fried spring onions. We added the seafood option of calamari, fish and shrimp. The rice was perfectly textured and nicely seasoned, with a subtle sweetness from the sauce. This dish can also be made gluten-free upon request. * Apple Tart ~ For dessert, we shared an Apple Tart. It was a lovely way to round out our dinner. Everything was delicious. Normally, for variety, we like to order an assortment of dishes and take the leftovers home so we can enjoy them again later. However, traveling far from home didn't make that particularly practical this time. I would have loved to sample more of the menu, especially some of their Nikkei selections. We also enjoyed Inka's inviting and cheerful atmosphere. The greenery cascading across the ceiling is eye-catching and seems to serve as the room's centerpiece, even if you have to look up to appreciate it. Your eyes are naturally drawn upward. It's a wonderful setting for a date night or a lively dinner with friends or a group. The service was friendly and prompt, adding to an already enjoyable evening. We were far from home, but Inka's made our night in Syracuse feel like a delicious little destination of its own. Hope we can return one day!
